And, Lord, we we, we thank you. We thank you for the intimacy that we enjoy with you, and we pray tonight that you'd be our teacher and that you'd help us as we as we study this chapter, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen. Alright. So in chapter 40, Gedaliah, who's the governor, he was very naive. He was very, very naive. Johannan said, hey. There's a death threat out there. There's a hit on you. And and the guy's name is Ishmael, and Ishmael's with the Ammonites. And Ishmael being a being a in the seed royal in David's David's line in the family, for some reason, Gadalei just thought that was preposterous, that there's no way that Ishmael would ever do something like that. And some are feeling like Ishmael was jealous because the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, appointed Gadalei to be the governor, to be the guy there in Jerusalem to look after the remnant. And so he's over with the Ammonite king, and and, you know, he's feeling jealous or whatever. So he's gonna go in there and he's gonna disrupt everything and actually commit murder. And he's gonna commit in this chapter 41, he's gonna murder another 70 people. And and so this guy's and he's gonna be feigning like he's mourning, and he's he's gonna cry. And he reminds me of a guy like Zelenskyy, who was an actor in Ukraine, or just just any of these pretenders, these these actors, the so called politicians. They have no leadership ability. It's a great thing that this guy, Ishmael, never became a leader. This is the best he can do is just be a murderer. And it's so refreshing when the Lord raises up somebody that actually has some character. Gedaliah seemed to be a guy with a lot of character, but in many ways, the areas that many of us are strong in, there's other areas that we're weak in, And so that's why we're a body. That's why the church is the body of Christ. None of us possess all of the skills, abilities, gifts, and all. And I would look at Gadelai, and if I were to put myself in his shoes, I would say, you know, I need to have some advisers around me, maybe a wife like Kathy, that could tell me that has real good discernment and tell me, Rick, be careful. You know? When Pontius Pilate was gonna execute Jesus and was contemplating what to do, his wife came to him and said, I had a terrible dream, a terrible dream concerning this just man. You know? Don't mess with him. You know? And he he didn't heed what he tried to heed what she is saying. He tried real hard, but the political expediency was such that it that it just crushed him, and he had to give in to the pressure of the the manipulation that the, that the religious leaders were doing. Well, you're not Caesar's friend and things like that. And so, so Pilate caved in. And Gadalaiah seemed to have a big heart, seemed like he was tired of the siege, tired of, you know, the war, tired of everything. It's time to look after the the feeble, the weak, the people that are left behind near this remnant. And, you know, in his mind, why would Ishmael wanna kill me? Why would he wanna do that? You know? And so, anyway, what I take away from that is can't always listen to everybody. You gotta listen to the Lord first and foremost, but God will surround you with people that are trying, like Johannan here, letting you know that, hey, there's a death threat on you. Would you like me to go and take out Ishmael? Had he done that, could have saved a lot of lives. Lot of lives could have been saved. But because he didn't, and he underestimated the propensity of the wicked one because Ishmael's just a emissary of Satan. Satan's one to, you know, destroy. And and Satan has his men. Satan has his women. Satan has people that that are inspired of him to go and do these dirty deeds. And but we have the holy spirit. We have angels guarding us. We have men and women in the church that are watching our six. And and I just think we need to maybe be a little bit more discerning. Why is the serpents gentle as doves? Because the times we're living are getting very evil, and we can be tricked, and we can be deceived so very easily. And we need to, I would look at it here. The thing that was lacking was I don't see that Gedaliah prayed about it. I don't see that Gedaliah sought godly counsel from Jeremiah. Jeremiah was silent. And so something this this serious is something to take serious. Don't just blow it off. So that's where I would problem solve there. And the other aspect of this is is if we personalize this, Ishmael in the Bible is a type of the flesh. And as long as you allow the flesh and you underestimate the flesh and don't take the flesh serious, the flesh has the potential to take us down. The the Galatians five says the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh. God is never asking us to reform the flesh. Those old, edemic natures that's inside of you, the the various appetites you have and and desires we have that are edemic in nature, that are from our fallen, you know, standpoint, covetousness, greed, envy, jealousy, sexual sin. All these things are a result of the flesh pride. And, nowhere does god say, I'm gonna send you to rehab, and I'm gonna rehabilitate you and make you a better person. You know? Nowhere does he say, I've got a therapist for you and some psychiatrists that are going to pick your brain and try to get at the root of the problem and all that, and we're going to rehab you. There's no pill to rehab you. God's prescription for our flesh is what? Death. Death. Just you got to kill it. And the hard thing is that the flesh is going to be with us until that point in time that we die or the rapture takes place. So that's gonna constantly be there. So what we do is we starve the flesh. We don't feed the flesh. You feed the flesh. You incite the flesh. The flesh raises up and and there's a roaring lion, you know, to try and take you down. And so you don't want you don't want to toy with the flesh. You don't want I see these snake charmer guys and they're they're they're got a, you know, python or whatever they call it, those ones that go out like that, you know, And they're and all that. They're holding them in all that cobra. Yeah. And I'm like, don't play with that. Don't don't don't play around. You're gonna get bit, man. You know? And why would you wanna play around like that? And it's the same thing with the flesh. The the things that you know have taken you down in the past, whether it's drugs, alcohol, whatever it might be, don't play around with it. Take it serious. Take it real serious. And God's prescription for the flesh is starve it out. Don't feed it. Instead, feed the spirit. And Galatians five says, we walk in the spirit, we won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. So the flesh is always lusting against the spirit, the spirit against the flesh. They're contrary to one or the other. So it's it's a mortification. This death mortify your members, mortify the deeds of the flesh. You just gotta kill it. So the proper the proper thing to take place here to solve a lot of problems was that, Johannan should have been allowed to, you know, execute Ishmael as a as a murder before, you know, nip it in the bud. There's a lot of times in the ministry where I failed to nip it in the bud, and it causes an even bigger problem, and I regret it, but it was just I was I was leading with my heart. I was thinking I could win them over with love. I could win them over, but, it carries over, and it's like a poison. It's like a poison that begins to permeate twenty, thirty people. And pretty soon, you got a whole coup, a Korah, Dathan, and Abiram against you. And and, you know, you you you didn't realize that Jesus said, he that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me, speaking of Judas. You know? I've been eating bread with you. Now you're now you're you're against me, you know. Joseph's own brothers were against him. Jesus' own brothers didn't understand him. Psalm forty one nine says, yay, known familiar friend, in whom I trusted which did eat my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. So Jesus is quoting that. But David had his Ahithophel. Ahithophel was plotting along with Absalom. Absalom, David's own son, was plotting against him. So, you know, we can't please everybody. As much as lies within you, seek peace with every person. You seek peace. I want peace. But just the way Paul says it, as much as lies within you, on your part, on your end, you're seeking peace. But there are certain people, they don't want peace. They wanna destroy you. And we may not understand that, but that's the world we live in. It's it's not a, it's not pollyannic. You know? We're not gonna get everybody to move in the right direction. And and and the other thing when when you're when you're in a group of people, love is the is the characteristic of people that are walking in the spirit, is that they're loving. Not can they speak in tongues or prophecy or all this other stuff. It's love. Love is the fruit of the spirit. So without love, we're nothing. Whether you're a young Christian or an old Christian, we've got to love. And that's where we need to focus is loving the Lord. And as we love the Lord and we feed the spirit, we're going to have the capacity with agape love and unconditional love for for people around us. But that love doesn't mean that we don't have discernment or or exercise correction and instruction in righteousness because we have to take serious, you know, the leaven that can false doctrine or leaven as in hypocrisy or sin that can permeate a church and work its way through and corrupt us and weaken us. And and it takes away our witness and our testimony in the community. And and it it Nathan told David, you've given great occasions for the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme his name. So that's what happens. The enemies, the unbelievers look at us and they say, you know, did you hear about that church? You hear what they've been doing? You you know what they're doing? And God doesn't get the glory. It's a shameful thing that happens. And it's I have to say this. I saw an advertisement of a deliverance ministry. It's never ever ever the devil that's doing it. It's always the flesh. It's always the flesh that's taking down the church. It's not the devil. We like to blame the devil. Christians are not subservient to the devil. Sin shall not have dominion over us. When you become a Christian, if you sin, it's because you choose to sin. The devil there used to be when I was a little kid, real little kid, this is a long time ago, Flip Wilson, a comedian, and he would do stuff and he'd say the devil made me do it. That's just not true. Now for an unbeliever for an unbeliever, they can be in bondage to the devil, and they can be held captive by the devil. There's no reason to have a deliverance ministry in a church. These are these are areas of your flesh that you've given over to because as soon as you're born again, a house divided cannot stand. The devil has to flee. He can't coexist with the Holy Spirit inside your body. So now you have the Holy Spirit to help you live the Christian life. So what happens is, I believe in many cases, it's it's these churches that are not teaching their people the word of God. And because they're not teaching the people the word of God, their spirits aren't being fed. And if the spirit isn't fed, then the flesh is dominating. So the flesh is is weak, so weak that that the person is giving in to the desires of the flesh. And then the pastors and stuff, you know, they get up and they go, oh, that's a generational sin. And did your mommy use a Ouija board? Did she do this? Did she do that? And, you know, and and it's just bogus. It's it's it's unbiblical. And so it's a real easy prescription. Galatians five, walk in the spirit and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. Be being filled with the holy spirit. Be not drunk with wine wherein is success, but be being filled with the holy spirit. So the the, more of the Bible I read, the less I'll wanna sin. The less of the Bible I read, the more I'm gonna sin, the more I'm gonna give in, to the world, the flesh, the devil. You have three enemies. The world is gonna mock you and try and get you to conform so that you'll be liked. That's what the world does. The devil, he will tempt in that he will test and he'll dangle things, but you decide whether or not you're going to engage as a Christian. So we have to take responsibility. So it's god gives us the capacity to repent. And, that's the beautiful thing about being a new creation in Christ Jesus is, like we've been describing the last couple weeks, is all I know is I was blind and now I see. I was drunk. I was an addict. I was I was an adulterer, all these different things. And you come to Christ, and even you can be demon possessed. Mary Magdalene, seven demons had to flee from her, you know, because greater is he that's in us than he that's in the world. Since God's for us, who can be against us? So we have we already have the victory, and we need to walk in that victory. I don't need anybody to come along and say, well, pastor Rick, you know, you're really fat, and I'm gonna deliver you from the demon of chocolate. You know? No. I'm I'm fat because I eat too much. You know? So it's you know? I like one guy at the gym at the time. I like when people don't allow you to make excuses. I like people like that. We're all inclined to make excuses, and I made an excuse about something. You can't even at the gym I go to, you can't even make an excuse that you're old. They they won't let you get away with it. So he said to me, the numbers don't lie. I'm like, oh. So what do they mean the numbers don't lie? It means you have to stay in a calorie deficit if you want to lose weight. So the only reason you're getting fat is you're exceeding the number of calories for your maintenance that you're supposed to be eating. Nobody forced that food in your mouth. So you're the one that controls the food, the type of food, how much of the food, when the food, all that. The numbers don't lie. So begin to calculate your calories and learn about nutrition. And if you if your maintenance is 2,800 calories, then stay under 2,800 calories to lose weight. If you want to gain weight, then exceed that, you know, go up to 3,500. So it takes 3,500 calories to lose a pound of fat. That's what it takes. So do that over the week. He was pound a week. Right? Just just so anyway, the numbers don't lie. And but we like to make excuses. And I don't. I don't like to make excuses. I don't like to blame somebody else. Well, it's Kathy's fault, you know, she buys all this food and I just feel like I have to eat it. You know? You're fat because you put it in your mouth, you know, period. And then there's other factors, physiologically, hormone imbalances, thyroid problems, diabetes, a lot of different things can factor in. But bottom line is we choose to eat bad food or good food or how much food or when we eat it. And, so I'm trying to learn how to be more disciplined in those areas. But from the spiritual standpoint, I know that if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. If your ear causes you to hand causes you to sin, you know, cut it off. So there's things in my life I have to cut out of my life because they lead me in feeding my flesh and it causes me to sin. So it starts in the mind. It starts in the thoughts. So I have to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and I have to wash it with his word. And I have to say, no, I want to walk in the spirit. I don't want to give into the flesh. And that's a conscious decision moment by moment every day. But also, as you're evaluating your life, the direction you want to go, there's a lot of decisions that you're going to make that you're going to say no to. And they're not sinful things, but you're going to say no to them because God has a different plan for your life. And so there's things you're going to have to deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow the Lord. If you're in the mode of feeding the flesh, you're going to be dominated by the flesh. So give me some examples of the lifestyle we have in America of not feeding physically, but feeding spiritually the flesh. What are some things that if we indulge in can take us down? Alcohol. Alcohol. So everything in moderation. If you do too much of it, you're gonna be a drunk, right? And drinking doesn't take you to hell, but being a drunk does, right? Alright. So you have to evaluate that. You have to say, hey, I've got a liberty. I go to a church that has wine coolers and beers at the Bible study on Monday nights. I go to the wine tasting thing over in Port Townsend with my church. It's pretty hip and cool. And hey, we brew beer. What would Jesus brew? You know? So you have to evaluate all that idiocy and you have to determine, you know, what's the Holy Spirit saying? What's the potential of this taking me down? And you and I, as Christians, we have to take it even further. It's not just individual. We have to say, does this have the potential to stumble somebody else that's close to me? So I may be strong in that area. I stop at one beer, you know? But what if that alcohol is in the refrigerator and my wife or my daughter or son, they begin to dabble, begin to check it out? I mean, I was so scared when Robbie was trying to give me that vodka a couple weeks ago because I just didn't know if Kathy was gonna eat it and then drink it in the closet, become a closet vodka drinker. You know? This scared me, man. It just really scared me, so I didn't want it in the house. You know? You guys all saw how scared I was. I was scared. I was like I was like, what? Rick, it's for a tincture. It's for cooking. Oh, okay. Alright. I tried to quit drinking for almost three years, but my husband drank. And when I finally did, it we got divorced. He didn't he didn't like being alone as a drinker. I I guess. I don't know. But I couldn't deal with him anymore Right. Because he was always drinking. Yeah. That's a George Sorrell good song too. If you don't start drinking, I'm gonna leave. Yes. Well, that's why a lot of our old friends that we used to drink with or do stuff with, when you get saved and you don't do that anymore, you're no fun. Yeah. They don't wanna be around you. And your light is exposing their darkness, and you're a drag. And even in business, if you wanna make a lot of money and you're in business, part of making money is going to the bars, going to the restaurants, and having drinks with clients and people, and it's a whole part of the the way that deals are conducted. And not to say you can't, but that's a big part of business. And so as a Christian, you're you're a teetotaler, you know, and they make fun of you and stuff. But you can eventually overcome all that with hard work, I guess. But much easier in this life if you go with the flow, you want worldly success. So if you go against the grain, you can still achieve, but it may be harder. So so we'll pray for your ex husband that he the real root of all that is that he gets saved. Right? Yes. I I've actually thought about trying to invite him to go to church. Good. Alright. So, Ishmael, 16 times in chapter 41. Why would why would with Nancy doing the inductive bible study, you can see where I marked it in this kind of gold color circled. And I wanna ask myself, why is this name Ishmael mentioned over and over and over and over and over again? What's the holy spirit trying to get through to us? Wasn't he the one that was conceived with Adam and the housekeeper, or is this a different issue? That's that's where his name starts, and that's that's a good point, but it's Abraham. I'm blessed. Abraham's wife, Sarah Uh-huh. Told him, hey. I can't have children. Children. So go into my handmaiden Hagar. Mhmm. And what was produced was Ishmael. Mhmm. And so let's turn to Genesis chapter 16. Betty's on it, man. She's on it. Don't underestimate Betty has read her bible. No. I just Now I'm embarrassing her, but she's she's my favorite tonight. Kathy is. Well, I mean, you know, besides Kathy, Kathy's always there. So we we're in Genesis 16, and We'll back it up a little bit. Let's go to 14. So Abraham, in chapter 13, he winds up in Egypt. There's a there's a famine in chapter 12. It says Abraham went up out of Egypt. Early in chapter 12, there was a famine in verse 10 and a famine in the land, and Abraham went down. Egypt is a type of the world. Ishmael is a type of the flesh. So Abraham, the father of our faith, is going through a terrible test, severe test. It's the economy has collapsed. You know? He's got sheep and lots of animals. He's rich and all that, but there's a family. He doesn't have food. So he goes down into Egypt, and he goes down into Egypt and he says, hey, Sarah. You at 65 are like Kathy Bodrey. You are so beautiful that I'm afraid that the the pharaoh is gonna steal you from me and kill me and take you into his harem. So tell them that you're my sister, and because I'm afraid. What a man. Right? And he's he's the father of our faith. He's a giant in the halls of faith. And so, again, all of us has laps of faith, and the Holy Spirit doesn't edit out our failures or his failures, wants us all to remember that God's not surprised at our human frailty. We can learn from it. So he goes there, and then God puts a plague upon him, and the pharaoh realizes, hey, you lied to me, which you got a bad testimony now. And he did it again later with Abimelech. He did the same thing. God gave plague, shut up all the wombs in in with the Philistines with Abimelech later. So he comes up in chapter 13. He comes up out of Egypt. Now what did he come out with? He came out with a servant named Hagar for his wife Sarah. And Lot came out, and Lot got intoxicated with the world. Lot's looking at Egypt. Lot's of, you know, lot's of rancher just like just like Abraham, and they've got sheep, and and their herds are growing, God's blessing and everything. And and but Lot gets a little taste of the world down in Egypt, and he he's gonna wind up in Sodom and Gomorrah, you know, where they were idle, where they were very prosperous in Sodom and Gomorrah, and and a city, you know, in the city. He would wind up sitting in the gate of the city, in a very vile, wicked city, and Peter says, and righteous lot. Yeah. That's the only way I would know. But as Peter said it, and and so in chapter 13, as they're coming out of Egypt, the herdsmen began to strive. They began to fight with each other. And in verse five, Lot also went up with Abraham flocks and herds and tents, and the land was not able to bear them, and they that they may dwell together, and their substance was great so that they could not dwell together. There was strife between the herdsmen of Abraham, the cattle, and the herdsmen of Lot. So what happened there is Abraham being a man of faith, he said, Lot, you get to choose first. You can choose which way you wanna go, and I'll go the opposite way. And so Lot chose the best for himself, the best area, the best fertile area, and he pitched his tent, it says here in verse 12, towards Sodom. And so that's how backsliding is. It's just, you know, little by little by little by little. And had he been able to nip it in the bud, his lust for, you know, the world, he may have been able to you know, to not succumb and go all the way into Sodom and Gomorrah. But he's also got a wife. He's got daughters, and they probably like going to the ballet and having nice dresses and clothes and getting a good bath and all that. They're tired of camping and living in an RV and stuff like that, and so they they want nicer things in life. Nothing wrong with that. And and so the Lord said unto Abram, verse 14, after Lot was separated from him, lift up now your eyes. So the Lord's gonna show him the promise that as Lot separated away from him, this is the promise I have for you, you know, what I'm going to give you, you know, all this land and everything, the title deed and everything. And and so so God God you know, God in chapter 12 and and here in thirteen and fifteen seventeen, the Lord's going to continue to remind Abraham of his promise to Abraham. Your name's Abram. I'm gonna change your name to Abraham, father of many. Sarah, shut up. You're shut up. 85 years old about this point. Fifteen years from now, Sarah's gonna have a child, but they can't wait. They've been they've been following the Lord for ten years now, and everybody's laughing at him. Everybody's mocking him because he they can't have any kids, and it's a it's a a blight. It's a blight against them. You should be fruitful. You should have be able to have a child, have a son especially, and especially with his name change, Abraham, father of many, father of many nations. Hey, well, how many kids you got? None. I got none. We got none. And why do you have that name? So then in chapter 14, Lot's down in Sodom, and there's a a battle between nine kings. And these nine kings, five against four, those of Sodom and Gomorrah lose, and Lot's taken into captivity by Chedolamor. And so Abraham, with 318 soldiers, just three eighteen, goes after them and delivers them, whoops on all these these these other kings, and rescues Lot, rescues the king of Sodom, and then we have a beautiful Christophany with Melchizedek, king of righteousness, king of Salem, and so prophet, priest, and king Melchizedek. This is a theophany. This is a Christophany, a pre incarnate appearance of Jesus Christ. And and Abram is met there by Melchizedek, and he gives them tithes of all. And so when someone tells you that, hey. We don't have to tithe. We don't need to tithe. You don't have to tithe. God loves a cheerful giver. But if they ever say, well, you know, we're not under the law. Tithing precedes the giving of the law by four hundred and thirty years. Why would Abraham give tithes to Jesus here, to Melchizedek? It's an act of worship, isn't it? Wouldn't you, if you just came through a great victory like that, and the Lord blessed you and all that, and all this spoil and everything? And the king of Sodom says, you keep all the spoil. I want the people. So the king of Sodom is a type of the devil. Why does the devil want the people? He needs a group of people that worship him, doesn't he? He he can't be king without people. Right? You need you need a you need a group of people that'll worship you. And and Abraham says, no. I don't want any of your stuff. I don't want you to be able to say you made me rich. And except for the tithes, except for these other three guys here that came to help me, as you're finishing up the chapter there, just, know, you keep the stuff. So after these things, the word of the Lord came unto Abraham in a vision, chapter 15, fear not, Abraham, I am thy shield and thy exceedingly great reward. And now isn't that great? You may not have a baby. You may not have what some other people have, but the Lord says, I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward. I'm gonna protect you, and I'm your portion in this life forever. Other people may have other stuff, but you get me. Right? Ain't that great? And Abram, notice that, said, Lord God, what will you give me? Seeing I go childless. And the heir of my house, this Eliezer of Damascus. So Eliezer is a type of the holy spirit. And Abraham said, behold to me, thou has given no seed. Notice seed singular. Seed singular. And lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And this is Eliezer. And behold, the word of the Lord came unto him saying, this shall not be thine heir, but he that shall come forth out of thine own loins shall be thine heir. Fifteen years ahead. How long have you been waiting? For a kid? No. Oh. As a Christian, a brand new Christian, for all your problems to go away. Forty eight years. Oh. No? Oh. Four months. Yeah. Months. Okay. There you go. Six months. Alright. How long have Robbie, you've been waiting? How long have been waiting? How long have you waiting? You know? Some of us have to wait a while. Now brand new Christians, I love when we're brand new Christians because it's our honeymoon. And almost every prayer that comes out of our mouth, the lord immediately answers. You know? And then a little bit and then a little bit later, it takes a little longer. It's so fun to watch Shannon and, you know, Sean pray and, like, answer their prayers so quick. You know? It's it's fun to watch. He's got some for you. Alright. Be patient. Right? Yes. See Fifteen years. I mean, that's a that's a long time. They've been in at ten. Now they gotta wait fifteen more. But in light of eternity now why is God delaying? Because he wants Why does God delay? Because he wants to see his strength. Wants to see us be strengthened? Mhmm. Yeah. Or he wants his life with God to be strengthened. Strengthened. Right? Mhmm. Absolutely. That's that's what I I think all the time because, you know, I have a love problem, and and and I'm learning to love God. And every time I wanna try to focus on something else, then then then God gets jealous, and then I won't talk to my lover for days because I feel like God's punishing me, but he's not. He's just jealous. He's just jealous. God's not jealous. Oh, he's jealous. Careful what you're saying. I mean, if you're an idolatrous, yeah, he's jealous. Paul said, have espoused you to one husband, even Christ. No? And there's a godly jealousy. It's a good jealousy. He doesn't want you to worship the devil. You know? It's a good jealousy. Yeah. Yeah. He's He's like He's got his eye on you. First. Amen. And then you can pay attention. So it's in a good way. Yes. Alright. And verse five. And he brought him forth abroad and said, look now toward heaven and and count the stars. So how many stars are out there? A bunch. Lots. Right? If thou be able to number them, and he said unto him, so shall thy those seed, singular, be unto him. So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord, and he counted it unto him for righteousness. So this is where Paul brings us into Romans four that this faith pleased God and imputed it unto him for righteousness. Abraham believed. And he said unto him, I am the lord who brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldeans. You were 75. Sarai was 65, to give thee this land to inherit it. And he said, lord god, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? So they go through a contractual agreement here with a a ram and a and a she goat and and a a lamb, and then and then a a couple birds, and deep sleep fell upon Abraham, and there's a four hundred and thirty year gap until the time the the the law would come, and that he's prophesying that the nation of Israel that would come forth from his loins would go into a time of bondage, you know, in Egypt, whereas he's formulating the the 70 that went down with Jacob, Joseph, and the brothers. And by the time they come out four hundred and thirty years later, you mean a couple million people, but in the fourth generation, they shall come here again for the iniquity Amorites is not yet full, so that he's gonna wait till they're ripened for judgment. And then he says down in verse 18, in the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abraham saying, unto thee unto thy seed have I given this land from the river Egypt under the great river Euphrates. So today, America, any other nation that's interfering with Israel in regard to Jerusalem or Gaza or any other geographical region is theirs because God said so, because God gave it to him. And so chapter 16 now. Now Sarah, Abraham's wife, bore him no children, and she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarah said unto Abraham, behold now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing. So kinda like Hannah in the book of Samuel, restrain. There's times where the Lord holds back because he has something better he wants to do. He doesn't want you to have just or like, you know, Elizabeth and Zechariah in the New Testament, John the Baptist came forth from them. So what happens is in many cases, the Lord denies, and then we get serious, and then like Hannah's praying, and the Lord's letting us know that, hey, this isn't just any child. I want you to raise this child as a Nazarite. I want you to raise this child in such a way because, you know, little Samuel's gonna be the first of the prophets. You know? John the Baptist is gonna be the forerunner. Samson, he's gonna be great. You know? So the Lord on occasion will delay, deny to get our attention, as Betty said, to get us ready, but the Lord is always setting the stage so that when he uses us, it's not us. Abraham and Sarah are gonna be past the age of having children, or Sarah is, and and she's she's gonna have to already gone through menopause. She's gonna say, hey. I'm too old to have kids. Lord purposely waited to that point so that when Isaac comes forth, everyone knows it's a miraculous work of God's spirit. Right? And so the stage is set for God to do the miracle, then God gets the glory, not just any child. But in this case here, this is an area of flesh. We're gonna help God out. I'm barren. He's given us the promise. God's unable to get me pregnant these ten years. I know. Why don't you get Hagar to be a surrogate mother, and we'll give her $50, and she'll carry the baby. You give the sperm, and and then we'll have our own kid. And Sarah said unto Abraham, behold now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing, I pray thee. Go in unto my maid. It may be that I I may obtain children by her. And Abraham hearkened to the voice of Sarai. Now, guys, if your wife ever says that to you, she's lying. It's a trap. She's lying. It's such a trap. I mean, she will she will hold that over you the rest of your life. And Sarah later on is going to blame Abraham for all the mess that happens after this. And I mean, must be looking at her like, really? Really? You're okay with that? Yeah. And she wants she wants a baby. She wants something. And and so should Adam have listened to the voice of his wife? Mhmm. Guys, be careful. Eve told Eve told him, hey. It's good. It's good. Now Eve was beguiled. Adam transgressed. Adam wasn't beguiled. Adam didn't wanna be away from Eve. Adam chose to transgress, to step over the line. He knew what he was doing, and and so that's the blame game. You say, God, it's that woman you gave me. You know? It's the woman you gave me. And the woman says, it's the serpent. It's always the serpent. It's the devil, the devil. So here Abraham hearken unto the voice of Sarah. And Sarah Abraham's wife took Hagar, her maid, the Egyptian, after Abraham had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and and gave her to her husband, Abram Abram, to his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived. And when and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. So Mhmm. It's payday. It's like, hey. Look. You couldn't have any kids, but I am. I'm giving your husband a son. And Sarai said unto Abram, the wrong done done to me be unto thee. See? See how she blames him? It's your fault. I have given my maid unto unto your bosom. And when she saw me, she had conceived. I was despised in her eyes. The Lord judged between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, behold, I made this in thine hand. Do to her as pleases thee. And when Sarai dealt hard hardly with her, she fled from her face. So then it says, the angel of the Lord. Now I love the fact here that God's formulating a people called the Jews, Abraham the Hebrew. And the reason is is he's wanting to bring forth the Messiah, Jesus, from this nation, you know, of Israel. But what's so beautiful here is although Ishmael's a, you know, a symbol of the flesh, these nations, as he speaks to Hagar, I'm gonna do a great thing through, you know, through through Ishmael and and through you, Hagar. You know, god loves the Arabs, and these Arabs are gonna be saved. Eventually, the Arab nations many of these Arab nations are gonna, like like Persia right now, just not Arab, but Persia in Iran is the fast growing church in the world. Don't you love that? So it's not just Israel. Israel is used of God to bring forth the Messiah, a unique people to prepare the for the incarnation of Jesus. But it doesn't mean he's chose Israel and, you know, hates Ishmael. He says, Isaac have I loved, Ishmael I've Esau have I hated. Esau in the sense of he had no desire for God, no desire at all for God. But but the gospel needs to be going out to all these nations because at the end of the age, the Lord's gonna save these people. Many of them are going to wind up these nations, you know, Egypt and these nations are going to wind up in the the millennium coming to faith. And so the angel of the Lord said unto her, return to your mistress and submit yourself to her hands. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly that it shall not be numbered for multitudes. So you're going be fruitful. A lot of nations are going to come forth, the Islamic nations. Not at that time they didn't have Islam because, you know, Muhammad hadn't come along yet in the sixth century. But God's going to, you know, save these people. We saw the wise men from Babylon came at the time of Christ, and unfortunately, you know, Islam permeated these Muslim nations, but the gospel is going to dominate one day and and reach the people that God has ordained for it to reach. So so behold, thou art with child and shall bear a son and shall call his name Ishmael, which means God shall hear because the Lord has heard thy affliction. So God hears your affliction, and he will be a wild man. So think in terms of these Muslim nations. He shall be a wild man. His hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him. So always fighting, always fighting among themselves. Now, only time it's said that the Arabs don't fight among themselves is when they have a common enemy, Israel. But if you leave them to themselves, they're always trying to plunder and fight against each other. And so, and he shall dwell in the presence of all of his brethren. So always fighting. And she called the name of the Lord, spoke unto her, the God sees me, for he said, have I also here seen him that sees me? Wherefore the well was called Beerle Roi, behold, it's between Kadesh and Berit. And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram called his son's name, whom Hagar bore Ishmael, God shall hear. Six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abraham. So and then we see Abraham crying out in chapter 17. In chapter 17, the Lord's coming to Abraham and tell him, so there's a thirteen year silence. There's a thirteen year silence where God doesn't speak to Abraham and Sarah after they do this thing in the flesh. And now Abraham's 99, Sarah's 89, and God is coming to him, letting him know this time next year, Sarah is going to conceive and have a son, you are going to call him Isaac. And then Abraham says, Oh, that Ishmael might live before you. And verse 18, and the Lord gives the covenant of circumcision, and God changed his name to Abraham, father of many, and changes the name of Sarai from my princess to a princess, and then brings forth the names Isaac, which means laughter. And so God said to Abraham, as for Sarah and thy wife, thou shall not call her name Sarah, but Sarah shall her name be, and I will bless her and give thee a son of her. Yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations, kings of people, and shall be of her. Then Abraham fell upon his face and laughed, which that's the name of Isaac, and said in his heart shall be born unto him that is a 100 years old, and a Sarah that is 90 years old? And Abraham said unto God, oh, that Ishmael might live before thee. You know, this is so big and I love Ishmael. He's such a good son. Do you have a blessing for Ishmael? And God said, Sarah, thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed, and thou shall call his name Isaac, and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant and with his seed after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard thee, behold, I have blessed him and I'll make a fruitful and will multiply exceedingly 12 princes shall he beget and I will make him a great nation, but my covenant I will establish with Isaac, Sarah shall bear at this set time next year. And and he ceased talking with them. God went up from Abraham, and Abraham took Ishmael, his son, and circumcised him and all the other servants that were there. And Ishmael was 13 years old now, so that's where that thirteen year silence came, and he was circumcised, and Abraham was circumcised. And then in chapter eighteen and nineteen, we get into, you know, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Abraham an intercessor. And then over in chapter 21, we have the birth of Isaac. And the Lord visited Sarah as as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the set time of which the Lord had spoken. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, Sarah bore to him, Isaac, and he circumcised them. And down in verse six, and Sarah said, God has made me laugh so that all that hear will laugh with me. So the rejoicing. And she said, who would have said unto Abraham that Sarah should have nursed children for I have born him a son in his old age? And imagine the rejoicing, how what a blessing it is for Abraham to see his wife Sarah, you know, so happy, so rejoicing. And so, for I have borne him a son in his old age, and the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast that same day with Isaac was weaned. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar, the Egyptian, whom she had borne unto him, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Hamrim, Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous to Abraham's sight because his son. And God said unto Abraham, let it not be grievous into your sight because of the lad and because of thy bondwoman and all that Sarah has said unto thee, hearken unto her voice for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation because he is thy seed. And Abraham rose up early in the morning and took bread and skin of water and gave it unto Hagar. So they leave, and then the angel meets Hagar and gives her some water and all. And now turn to the book of Galatians. Paul uses this as an allegory allegorical. So there's figures, there's types. And so that's what we say, Abraham, father of our faith, Sarah, princess, Isaac, a type of Jesus Christ. And seed singular. So in chapter four, four twenty three. Let's see here. Two systems. Verse 22, For it is written, Abraham had two sons, the one by the bondmaid, the other by a free woman. And he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh, but he who of the free woman was by the promise, which things are an allegory. So some people interpret the book of Revelation and parts of the Bible in an allegorical fashion, in a symbolic fashion. When the context is such that it's literal, most of the Bible we interpret literally, We stay with the literal interpretation, you know, going through the book of Revelation and such. So this guy named Origen, for instance, who wrote a a bible that hex hex, hex means five, so five different languages, you know, for the book of Revelation or the bible that he had, and he was allegorical. Everything was symbolic. And some people try to approach the book of Revelation as all of it being allegorical and you can't understand it. Well, here, the Holy Spirit's telling us Paul's Paul's leaning back and he's looking at Hagar, and she's a type of the law, and looking at Isaac as a type of the promise. And so the the danger the church of Galatia was going back into the law. And so he was saying, you don't wanna go back under the bondage of the law. You know? You know, Ishmael was was sent away, and Isaac shall thy seed be called, which is Jesus. He fulfilled the law, and your faith in him is imputed for righteousness. So don't go back to try to live the Christian life in the arm of the flesh trying to keep the law. That's what he's saying to the church of Galatia. Don't let people fool you. Don't do that. You're going to fall from grace. So in Hosea twelve ten, it says that God spoke, you know, through the prophets, and he spoke through similitude. Similitude is a figure. So there is typology. There is figures. There is allegorical examples, and especially in the Old Testament. So one of the biggest ones that we present to people is Genesis 22, where God told Abraham, take thy son, thy only son, to a mount that I'll show you. So Abraham being a type, a figure of God the father, Isaac a type of God the son, and Mount Moriah is Calvary where Jesus would be crucified, and offer him, you know, as an offering, so a type of taking him to the cross and all. So we show the gospel and Jesus said, Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he sought and was glad. And Paul told the church of Galatia that the gospel was before preached unto Abraham. So he understood that one day the Messiah would be cut off and faith in him is imputed for righteousness. So verse 23, but he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh. So that was Abraham and Hagar producing something that was a work of the flesh, not of the spirit. And he of the free woman, Sarah, was by promise or by the spirit, the holy spirit. And which things are an allegory? For these are the two covenants, the old and the new. The one from Mount Sinai bearing children for bondage was Hagar. So Paul's Paul's likening it to Moses on Mount Sinai with the law. For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and answers to Jerusalem, which now is and is in bondage with the children. But Jerusalem, which is above, is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, rejoice, thou barren, that bearest not. Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not. For the desolate has many more children, and she who has a husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac, as are the children of promise, but as then that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the spirit. Remember they were fighting, the older boy is fighting, Sarah said we got to expel them out of the camp and all. Nevertheless, that what saith the scripture cast out the bondwoman and her son for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman? So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but children of the free. So chapter five, stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. So don't go back into the law. Don't go back that way. Behold, I, Paul, say unto you, if ye be circumcised, Christ shall have no profit you nothing. So don't go under the Judaizers coming along and trying to force you, hey, I believe in Jesus, but you also got to keep the law. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is debtor to the whole law. So if you want to go by way of keeping the law, you got to keep the whole law. James will say that if you miss it in one point, you're guilty of all. 613 precepts against you. Christ had become a no effect unto you whosoever you are that justify by the law, ye are fallen from grace. Notice justified by law, just as if I had never sinned. No, the law condemns you. You can't be justified by trying to keep the law because you can't keep the law. For we through the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything nor uncircumcision, but faith works by love. Ye did run well. Who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth? This persuasions comes not of him that calls you. A little leaven leavens a whole lump. I have confidence in you through the Lord that ye will be none otherwise minded, but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment whosoever ye be. And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, meaning the law, why do I yet suffer persecution? Then is the offense of the cross ceased? So if I if I preach the law, these Judaizers would leave me alone. So by preaching the cross is why they're angry at me. I would they were even cut off who trouble you. So Paul's saying, these guys are troubling you. This emphasis of Gentiles needing to be circumcised, which is symbolic of the keeping of the of the law, should be eunuchs, cut off all the way, emasculated. For brethren, ye have been called under liberty, only use not your liberty for indication to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the laws fulfilled in one word, even as thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one another. This I say then so now he's gonna bring it to a conclusion here, this battle, this this this I say then, walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The world, the flesh, the devil are our enemies. The flesh has to die. The spirit needs to be fed. For the flesh lusts against the spirit, the spirit against the flesh. They're fighting. And these are contrary one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. So there you are in Romans seven. Things I wanna do, I don't do. Things I don't wanna do, I do. There's a struggle going back and forth. That's the life of the flesh. Chapter eight of Romans, you get the life of the spirit. I've told you underline, circle spirit in chapter eight. That's the key. For if you be led by the spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these. So the works of the flesh, the characteristic of the flesh he's gonna lay out, these are the things that we have trouble with. You don't need a deliverance ministry. You need to mortify the deeds of the flesh. Romans eight thirteen. Right? And the flesh must die and then feed the spirit. So but if you be led by the spirit, you're not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness. So this is the desires of the flesh, idolatry, sorcery, which drugs, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, factions, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, a reveling, the like of which I told you before and I have told you in times past that they that do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. So these are indicative of people that are not saved. They don't need a deliverance ministry. They need to be saved. They need Jesus. Need to preach Christ. But the fruit of the spirit is joy, or is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self control against such there is no law. And they that are Christ have crucified the flesh. So we're using the word mortify, which means death to the flesh. Here he's using the word crucify the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the spirit, let us walk in the spirit, let us not be desirous of vainglory provoking one another. The only way that we can love, and love is the fulfilling of the law, is by walking in the spirit that we might love one another. All of the six thirteen precepts of the Old Testament are fulfilled in love. Love is the fulfillment. And that's that new love that Lord gives us. So back to Jeremiah 41. So we established this name Ishmael and what he's doing here as a type of the flesh. That came to pass in the seventh month that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elphanes of the seed royal, and one of the princes of the king, even 10 men with him, came unto Gadalaiah the son of Ahikem to mitzvah, and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah. Even though he's of the seed royal, even though he's been a servant of Zedekiah, even though he's in the lineage of King David, that's like a kid being born in a Christian home, but still living the life of the flesh. He's not born again. Great potential, great parents, great great opportunities ahead. But unfortunately, living a life like Esau, love in love with the world and the things of the world. Doesn't have a propensity or a desire for the things of the spirit. Jacob was a conniver, a heel catcher, but Dave Jacob desired the things of the spirit. That's why he wanted the birthright. That's why he wanted the blessing. And, he connived to get it and all, but it showed his heart that he want he valued the things, of the spirit. And here we have Ishmael, a type of Judas, a type of the devil, a a traitor. And so this is in around October of five eighty three BC is is this time frame here. And then rose Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, the and the 10 men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah. So there's no hedge of protection around Gedaliah. There's no bodyguards or anybody there. There's only 10 guys. Only 10. But there's only one Gedaliah, I guess. So God didn't have that hedge there. God didn't have anybody that was going to spare Gedaliah's life and bring him along. This was Gedaliah's time to go home to be with the Lord, I guess. A lot of Christian martyrs, a lot of good people cut down early, and God allowing wicked evil men and women to cut them down, but to be asked when the body is to be present with the Lord. Amen. And so we don't fear death. The son of Ahikim, the son of Shaphan, with the sword and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land. And so, and Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him when Gedaliah and Mizpah and the Chaldeans and were found there and the men of war. And so he's some of the soldiers that were there killed the Jews that were there. And Ecclesiastes 18 says, Wisdom is much better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good. This Ishmael is destroying one sinner, one guy. That's why it's so important in the church if we have someone like this come in, he's a cancer to the body of Christ. And what do we do with cancer in the body? We cut it out. Gotta cut it out. And if he doesn't cut them out, we cut him out or her. And then if they repent, we welcome them back. That's what we do. We welcome them back. But we need to make it clear that this behavior is destructive, and if you don't cease and desist, you're no longer welcome here. And that's a very loving thing to do because we're wanting to give them over to Satan, that they get a spanking and, you know, get their comeuppance. But it's also loving toward the sheep, the young ones, older ones, all of us, because they have the ability to cause the church to become sick, where we quench the Holy Spirit, where we grieve the Holy Spirit. So I don't wanna be a king Saul that's a people pleaser. And the people are constantly putting pressure on me to please them. And that's a political job, and you can't do that. So you have to you have to try and get everybody's eyes on Jesus that he's in charge. He's king of kings. He's lord of lords. This is his church. And as long as we're following his word and doing what he says, everybody should just chill. You know? Just chill. You know? Don't don't be getting all agro, you know, at me because I said no to something that that you're demanding. You know? Try to leverage or whatever. So and then in Ecclesiastes ten one, dead flies in the ointment sends a stinking smell. So you want the fragrance of Christ in a church. You want the fragrance of Christ, the freedom, the beauty, the love in a church. You don't want the backbiting and the hatred, the lack of love, jockeying and the flesh going on where people are competing, wanting positions of power and all that. And when we were building our buildings, people perceived as we were growing that there would be positions available. And there were people trying to, you know, fight for these positions. And it it just it was it was we lost the sweetness, you know? We lost the sweetness of just our focus when we first started out was we're going to feed the sheep, but we're going to reach out to the community, get people saved. So vision wise, without a vision, the people perish. A lot of churches work with vision and they'll sell their vision to the people and it always requires money, your money. What we did is we focused on let's get people saved. Let's have a concert. Let's have a prophecy outreach. Let's do something and invite the community. You invite people here at the Roxy or whatever place we rent, and let's worship the Lord. Let's share the gospel. Let's see if God saved somebody. So that was very healthy because everybody was looking outward. But when we started to build our building, the other building, now we became inward. And when we got looking inward is where we got sick because it was all flesh. We had a good idea wanting to build a Sunday school and all that, but all of a sudden we're like Calvary Brampton looking within, and it's like we needed to keep the vision of people focused out, that the objective is to get people saved, then, of course, we wanna disciple them, and we need the facility to disciple them. But for some reason, we were looking too inward. And there's a lot of ministries that start out and are really healthy. There's a there's an allegory, a picture that people described where there's a coast, you know, coast along the ocean. And there's a group of Christians there that saw that these boats that were coming along the the coast would crash into these rocks. And it was very, very dangerous coming around that that horn there. And so they began to develop, like, a lifesaving station where they had people that could swim out there and get these mariners, these people off these boats and get them into shore and get them some food and some hot cocoa and blankets and warm and all that. And as they're looking outward, it was very healthy. And then pretty soon they became so successful and began to a lot of lifesavers, you know, that they came up with a lot of rules, and they didn't want these wet swimmers and people that just got rescued to muddy up their new carpet and get the place dirty and things like that. And so they had all these rules and everything. And so some of them that were a part of the lifeguard station went down the beach and started another one so that they could be looking outward instead of inward. And because it became a club, churches can become a club where you're a part of it, you don't care about it any because you got enough now. You got enough people, pay the bills. Now what we need to do is entertain ourselves. And you lose the vision of preaching the gospel to the lost and discipling the church. So healthy sheep reproduce. They're gonna have a desire, you know, to share their faith with others. So that's what we what we encountered. So important to cut these guys out. And and it came to pass the second day after he had slain Gedadiah, and no no man knew it. And there came a certain men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria. So they're coming down from the Northern Kingdom, the 10 northern tribes. They'd heard that the temple had been destroyed and burned to the ground. Even fourscore men, so you got 80 guys coming, having their beard shaved, so it's a sign of mourning, and their clothes torn, and having cut themselves with offerings and incense in their hand to bring them to the house. So that goes against God's word. God's never asked these guys to cut themselves. Leviticus twenty three twenty three through 34, forbids this, and, and, they shouldn't have done that, but they did. And that which the heathen sacrifice unto idols, they actually sacrificed it unto demons. So this is an area of disobedience of the 10 northern tribes where Jeroboam didn't want these people coming to Jerusalem on a regular basis. So he set up an altar there among the 10 northern tribes at Shiloh, and and so they they begin to introduce idolatry. So they're bringing some of their idolatry there, they're pilgrims, they're mourners, and kinda kinda half on the fence, you know? And Ishmael, notice this guy. This guy is really slick. This is the devil. So I would say this is the serpent. Be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove. A serpent is very deceptive as we see the devil, the serpent in the Garden Of Eden with Eve, the way that he twisted words, and, you shall not die, you know, that sort of thing, denying God's word. So I believe that an Obama and a Biden, George Soros, and Bill Gates are real easy for Christians to spot. But the Bible also talks about Satan can appear as an angel of light or as a minister of righteousness. Satan can appear as a conservative Republican of the Republican party. Do you understand that? Mhmm. And he can have that congress type haircut and the whole look and, the whole thing, the whole jargon, the whole spiel, but, constantly be funding abortion, constantly be siding with the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organization and all these different NGOs, nongovernmental organizations, and totally throwing The US public, you know, under the bus, never arresting anybody. And, anyway, that to me is illustrative of how stupid the church is today. And as I was meditating and thinking about this with yesterday's message, again, the reason I believe the church lacks discernment is because they haven't been taught the Word of God. So the solution is teach the Word of God. And I'm listening to Jack Kibbs say the same thing, find churches that are taking people through the Word of God, because the times of deception that we're living in, the people aren't equipped to discern between good and evil because they haven't been taught the Word of God, so they're still relying on feelings, and they're really susceptible to deception because they can't process truth. They don't know how to derive what is true because they've been taught it's existential. It's humanistic. It's what I feel good. But God's absolute. God his truth is absolute. It's it's it's black and white. Murder is murder. You know? It's it's not a woman's choice, and people don't seem to understand that. Alright. And so he says, and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah formed a mitzvah to meet them, weeping all along. Have you ever met someone like that? I do it all the time. Not the weeping. Jesus wept. Nothing wrong with weeping, but I mean an actor, a hypocrite. He's deceiving them. He's not weeping because the temple fell. He's disarming them. Do you have people in your life that disarm you? Robbie has a name for these people. They're they're they don't feel anything. They just know how to manipulate. They know how to tell you what you wanna hear. Deceive. They're very good at deceiving. And, they don't care what I mean, he's a murderer, but he's wanting to disarm them. So if we're raising our children, small children, and apparently there's a whole lot of Britney's telling Kathy, there's a whole lot of stealing of kids that happens in Kitsap County, where guys will go into Target and Walmart, they'll have a walkie talkie. They'll be looking at a mom with kids, and the other one's outside in the parking lot with a van, and they're they're talking to each other, and they're coordinating, throwing these kids, so the mom or whatever, into the van and being gone, you know? So we're living in dangerous times. So how would a predator disarm your children? Give them candy. Candy? Puppies. Puppies? Puppies is a good one. How did Ted Mundy do it? How did he get so many people in his car? Get his arm. Can you help me? Right? Right. Yeah. I mean, these these are predators. That's how they do it. They disarm you. They deceive you. And you're a good person, and you wanna help him into the car. And then he's got that chloroform on your face and pass you out and the whole thing. And, it's horrible. It's it's just so the way that we teach our kids is he's a stranger. Don't talk to strangers. Right? And buddy system, you go in the family. It's not even a stranger. They're not teaching Well, that's a good point too. That that's a real good point because a lot of it is in the family. And so somehow we gotta teach the kids that if anybody nobody should be allowed to touch you inappropriately or you know, there's a whole series of things that parents have to have to teach their kids now. That's a red flag. And you go back and tell mommy and daddy immediately things like that. You're absolutely right. But there's people that'll disarm the kids, and it it's candy. It's it's favors. It's it's whatever. And this guy's this guy's skillful to be able to do this with adults. Mhmm. I know that in our situation in the church you know, I don't know what Cathy was saying when we're riding home, but I keep giving examples of the thirty years I've been doing this. And one of the most powerful tools that I've seen used against me is tears. As soon as I have to discipline somebody, and they might tell me something secretly, privately to me, But when they're on stage in front of people, you gotta be so careful. Because if you show anger toward what they're doing, oh, people cannot process. All they see is an angry shepherd, but I see a wolf, and the people don't see a wolf. If you raise your voice, oh my god. You're not allowed to raise your voice anymore, that male voice. You're not. And you've already talked to them sweet five times, but now they persist in this wickedness, and now they're calling you out public. And if you're smart, you know, you walk away because it's too powerful. But those that sin rebuke before all that others may fear. So if you got any guts, you rebuke them publicly so that others will fear. And if but the tears, once those tears start rolling, all sense of logic and reason and goes out the window, and all the people see is pastor made her cry or made the big boy cry. The big boy's crying And give him a pacifier, and it's powerful. I mean, it's so incredibly powerful. That's why in a lot of cases, pastors have assistant pastors to go and do the disciplining. And then pastor me, I'd be the hatchet man. I'm really the guy that sent them. Go get rid of that person. But I'm there smiling. I'm pastor Smiley, and all people see me do is smile. But they don't know that that guy that I'm sending is a far nicer guy than I am, but I've gotta send him to go deal with those people. And then their with their anger, their anger is directed to him, and I'm still able they call this I'm still able to minister to those people, you know, because they're not mad at me. They're mad at they're mad at so and so. He's like the sergeant around here. You know? And but it's it's drama. It's just drama. It's it's so disgusting. So you can kinda tell that I don't put up with it anymore. I don't care anymore. I just don't care. I'm just gonna do what's right. And and you guys are policing, if I can use that word. You guys are policing the church in a in a in a mature way of loving people, but also providing correction so they don't so they're not consumed with selfishness trying to sway a group of people, you know, against the direction. You know that the Holy Spirit's leading and guiding this church. So and we try to deflect by saying, you know, there's no perfect church, and this church is certainly not perfect, and it doesn't look like this church is working for you. It doesn't look like, you know, you like it. So I would encourage you to go and find a church that agrees with you, you know, because God has lots of churches out there. And that's that's a that's a nice way of saying, maybe you'll find a church that does it your way, the way that you're insisting it be done. And so but when tears come, tears are a powerful, powerful thing. We had a daycare, and I had people just so not moving in the direction. I had youth leader that arbitrarily decided his wife decided we weren't gonna do a a youth group with a group down in Oregon that we did every year. They decided it was too expensive, and they told the people down in Oregon without talking to me that we won't be back. It's too expensive. That's not my heart. Why would you do that? They've been nice to us. The kids learn down there. You know? But they arbitrarily she just did it. And then I told her, you know, I told her, that isn't you shouldn't have done that. And and my voice is rising up. And then they got their feelings hurt and left the church, and they demonized me. You know? He's a bad guy. But, anyway Maybe they realize later they may never No. They never come back and say they're sorry. Nope. I've had one person come back and say they're sorry all these years. It's pride. So anyway, so he's he's he's feigning. He's he's deceit deceptive and a a smoother. You know? What do you do with people like that? How do you expose them? How do you get people to see what you see, when they're a predator, and they're so slick? They're so incredibly slick. What do you do? I mean, sometimes you gotta wait almost a lifetime for people to discover what you you know, weeping all along. And he went and it came to pass as he met them, he said unto them, come to Gedaliah, the son of Aikim. I've already killed him, so he's using treachery. He's already killed him. Hey. Come over here. Disarmed him. Now he's getting to move in a direction. He's gonna kill him and throw him into a pit. A pit that king Asa dug out to preserve life. Now he's using that empty cistern as a burial ground, a a mass grave. 70 of them plus these other ones, throwing them in that pit. And he's an actor. He's a snake. And somebody wanna read Romans three fifteen? And somebody else wanna read Romans eight thirteen? And somebody else, Colossians three five. I'll do the last one, three five. Yeah. What's eight thirteen? Eight thirteen. Romans eight thirteen. And right now, we're gonna do Romans three fifteen, an actor, a snake. Remember the Gibeonites? We talked about them last week that came to Joshua, said they came from a far country. They tore their clothes and had moldy bread and all that, and and they heard that Jericho went down there just a few miles away from AI, and Joshua made a league with them, a contract with them. And then he found out that they were just up the road a ways, and he'd been deceived. But the contract was binding in God's eyes, so he couldn't deal with the Gibeonites. So Romans three fifteen first. Anybody go there? Want me to go there? I can do that. Romans three fifteen? I'll do it. You got it? Three fifteens. Alright. Romans three fifteen. Their feet are swift to shed blood. That was it? Is that it? That's it. It's 315. How about 14? He's given a description. Romans 14? Oh. Three fourteen, three sixteen. Three Get the flow. Destruction and misery are in their ways. That's it. Romans three sixteen. Go back to sleep. Go back to sleep. Roman, it's not your name. Three? Do you understand what we're trying to bring out? He's a snake. He's a snake. He's a deceiver. Paul will describe their deception there. Here. I'll read it. I understand. You said Throat is an open grave with their tongue. They keep There you go. See? The poison of haps is under their lip. There it is. Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. It's a type of treacherous enemy. You know? But they're so self righteous in their own eyes, but Paul's saying, no. This is what they're really like. Me now? Yeah. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die. But if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. There you go. In Colossians three five. Colossians three five. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth, fornication, unclaimless, inordinate affections, evil, conspicion. Incompetience? Yeah. Conspicences and covenantness, which is idolatry. What's an inordinate affection? Yeah. What is an inordinate affection? A lusting? Oh, okay. Oh, great. Affection, there can be good affection, and there can be a lusting, a predator. The difference is I want. You know? And you love somebody, you tell somebody you love them for what you want, and where true love would be a giving love. So in order to affection, it exceeds the boundaries of true affection and and could be lusting lusting after after somebody in a sexual way. Alright. Good. So so, anyway, this guy's a deceiver, and Jesus warned us, Matthew 24, there'd be false Christ, false messiahs, false prophets, a lot of deceivers. Paul warned us of deceivers and using doctrines of demons, things they've learned and all. And so prove all things, hold fast to that, which is good. And you gotta people need to be proven. You need to get to know them well. Lay hands suddenly on no man because you need their character to be made apparent before you give them positions of leadership. So when it came to pass as he met them and said unto them, come, get Elijah, the son of Ahaikim. And it was when they came into the center of the city that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them and cast them into the midst of the pit, he and the men that were with him. And so a bloody massacre against these guys, but 10 men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, slay us not for we have stores in the field and wheat and barley and of oil and of honey. So he forbore and slew them not among the brethren. So his desire for his desire of covetousness to have money, was greater than his desire to murder. The jealousy and the greed were stronger than the envy and the jealousy I mean, the jealousy they had toward Gedaliah and them. Now the pit in which Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies, the 70, of the men whom he had slain because of Gedaliah was that which was Asa king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel, and Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah filled it with those who were slain. So here I see another instance of the name Ishmael. So when I counted 16, now there's a seventeenth right there. I didn't see that one when I was highlighting them. So 17. So a genocide taken place. Mass graves in Revelation seventeen:six. Then Ishmael carried away captives all the residue of the people that were in Mitzvah, even the king's daughter, and all the people that remained in Mitzvah whom Nebuchadnezzaradan, the captain of the guard, had committed to Gedeliah the son of Ahikam. And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive and departed to go over to the Ammonites. So these are trophies for the devil, gonna bring him back to the king of the Ammonites and show him, hey, look, I wiped everybody out, and look at me. But when Johannan, the son of Kiri, and all the captains of the forces that were with him heard of all the evil that Ishmael, the son of Anathenai had done now who's this Johanan? He's the one that talked about the Israel Ishmael coming in. Right. Yeah. So if you look at my line, if you have the notes, I made a line back over to chapter 40 like George just said. This is the very guy that warned. He's the guy with the intel. There's certain guys with certain skills, military type guys, that before they go on the mission, they do a lot of intel. Intel's essential. They look at maps. They look at everything, anything that could impede, anything that could help. So he's got intel, and he brings that intel, which is very valuable to Gedaliah, and Gedaliah dismisses his intel. Now Gedaliah's dead, 70 other people dead, bunch of people captive, and a coward like Ishmael is easily wiped out by a soldier who's not afraid. They're cowards. They they're cowards when nobody fights back. You know, they're real big bullies. You know? But now now he's met the guy that's adept at war, adept at protecting people, and and coming against evil. And I believe we should be like Johannan in the sense of soldiers for the Lord and that we we don't fear the enemy. We don't fear their threats. We don't fear any of their stuff that we stand bold in the face of in the face of their threats. And so so anyway, Johanan, the son of Kiriath and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of the evil that Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah had done. And remember Abraham, how we talked, how he heard what Chet Olemyr had done? He took 318 of his of his guys. He's just a shepherd. Right? And he goes after these five kings that are going after four, and Lot's been held captive, and he recovers them all, wipes them all out. Not trained in war, but confident in faith that God's for him. And since God's for us, who can be against us? And I like that. I like I like the boldness of believers, the boldness to stand for righteousness. It it hurts my heart to see Christians so afraid and so passive toward evil in our culture presently and unwilling to stand up. And it's amazing what God can do. He saves by few, not by many. And you can go through the Bible, and you can look at all the instances of God giving the victory to the few, the ones that were overmatched. You know? Second Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat, you know, just lord it's innumerable multitude of guys. We we don't have the might. We don't have the power, neither knowing what to do, but our eyes are on you. Mhmm. Right? Lord, we're ready for orders. Give us our orders. What what'd you have us do? And what the Lord have them do? Send the worshipers out. Confront the enemy with worship. Right? Ain't that amazing? Just start to worship the lord. Worship the lord, and god will fight for you. And the lord's discomfited the enemy, and they they killed themselves. You know? What if you could get the globalist to kill themselves, all fighting among themselves? Because they're gonna do it. In the tribulation period, three of the kings are gonna fight against the antichrist, and the antichrist's gonna prevail, but you're gonna see three of the kings of the 10. Yeah. And then the antichrist becomes the eighth. So you're gonna see them fighting among themselves. Was that Cheryl? Oh, I said have them eat the Cheerios. Yeah. Yeah. How to eat them. Yeah. Have them eat the Cheerios. That's that, and then I went home, and it was on the news. I was like, woah. I'm a prophet. I am a prophet. What can I say? No. Tucker Carlson was interviewing Alex Jones, and Alex Jones says, I'm not a prophet. He goes, I just read. And that's what I've been trying to get everybody to understand. The globalists will always tell you what they're gonna do before they do it. So if you read the Pentagon Papers, if you read any of their agenda twenty thirty or agenda 21, they will tell you ahead of time this next decade, this next five years what they're gonna do. And that's what Alex Jones does. He researches all that stuff. He looks at it, and then he presents it because they they tell you ahead of time what they're gonna do. Some sort of demonic righteousness they have. They gotta tell you two years ahead with predictive programming, movies, and all these other ways to tell you what they're gonna do. You know, all the different movies that are out there about plagues right now that have been years ago. And Kathy and I, lone survivor or whatever it is, I don't know, that that isn't it. The Last of Us or something, and there's a plague and all that. But we were at anyway, I'll save that for later. Okay. Somewhat's going on in my head. Those voices. There's so many voices in my head. I don't know which one. Then they took all the men and and to fight with Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are at Gibeon. So you remember when David and all of his men came back, and Ziklag, all the people were taken away his family, and the the the mighty men of David, the 600 mighty men, they wept till they couldn't weep anymore, and then they were plotting to kill David, kill the leader. And because the Amalekites came in behind them and burned the city of Ziklag and took everything away. So David got away with the Lord, away from his guys, and it says he encouraged himself and his God. So as a leader, he had to get along with the Lord, and then the Lord told him, David, go. You're gonna recover everything. And And so they went, and they had 200 that stood by the stuff at the Brook Besor. The other 400 crossed over, and they went and they wiped out the enemy and came back with everything. You know? And so but they're bold. They're bold in doing it. They're ready to go for it. So they they met their match at Gibeon. Now it came to pass that when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan, the son of Kirai, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, then they were glad. So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back and went unto Johanan, son of Kirai. So what did they lack in their lack of leadership? Now they have a leader, Johannan, and boy, they're they're turning back toward him. But Ishmael, the son of Lethaniah, escaped from Johannan with eight men and went to the Ammonites. So two of them were killed, eight fled, and so these cowards, they fled. They didn't stand there and fight. Sure. They're gonna kill people that are unarmed. Get Elijah's not armed. The 80 guys came into to mourn concerning the temple. They weren't armed. The communists are real bold in killing unarmed people. Right? They don't like when people shoot back at them. Why is that? That's really strange, isn't it? Really strange when people shoot back. Then took Johannan the son of Kirai and all the captains of the forces that were with him, and all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah from Mizpah after he had slain Gedalai the son of Ahikim, even mighty men of war, and the women and the children and the eunuchs whom he had brought again from Gibeon. And they departed and dwelt in the habitation of Chimham. This is a place kind of like a compound type place near Bethlehem that David had allotted to this family of Chimham, and which went back to David's family at the year of Jubilee, which is by Bethlehem to go to enter into Egypt. So this is a huge mistake because in the next chapter, we're going to see that, you know, they relied on the flesh. Now, Johannan's strong, but don't go back into the world. Don't go back to the world. They asked Jeremiah to pray. Jeremiah prays for ten days in the next chapter. In the next chapter, the Lord says, stay in Israel and I will bless you. I'll protect you. But they're so filled with fear. You'll see the word afraid over here in verse 11 of the next chapter. Verse 18 says they're afraid. Verse 11 says afraid, afraid, afraid. The fear the fear kept them from trusting God and staying in Israel, and God's promising them, I'll take care of you. But instead, they move out of the state of Washington thinking they'll be somewhere else. They're in Nevada. They're all over the place. Yeah. And, god, the lord can keep you safe wherever you're at. You know? There's work to do. And they departed and dwelt in the habitation of Shemham, which is in Bethlehem, to go and enter into Egypt. So refugees, worldly wisdom, unbelief, because of fear. And, boy, fear is powerful. Remember what Golubal said? If you can get them afraid, you can get them to do anything. Right? Because of the Chaldeans, for they were afraid of them. So they thought the Chaldeans would whoop on them, but we better run to Egypt because they're gonna blame us for killing Gedaliah. All you need to do is explain it. Jeremiah's still with you. Jeremiah will explain it if they trust him. Don't run with fear because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikem, whom the king of Babylon made governor, you know, in the land. And so we're gonna finish up with two verses. Psalm 53 verse five and Proverbs twenty eight one. Who wants Psalm 53 verse five? Proverbs twenty eight one. Rob doesn't dare read. He's I'm just kidding. I'm just teasing it. I'm teasing you, man. I'm I'm teasing you, man. Psalm fifty three five. I'll read Proverbs twenty eight one. Oh. Okay. Okay. Then what what's the other Oh, I'm sorry. Did something wrong. Psalm fifty three five Mhmm. And Proverbs twenty eight one. Three. Got it. There were they in great fear where no fear was, for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put them to shame because God hath despised them. See, without faith, it's impossible to please God. For they that come to him must believe that he is and that he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. So when you're filled with fear, overcome a fear, there's no danger there like she's reading, but they're still filled with fear. Imagine. Your mind's imagining things. What if? What if? What if? What if? Stop with the what ifs. Just let's just trust the lord. Let's trust the lord. Let's see what he's gonna do. Let's get our eyes on him off the circumstance, the wind and the waves. Peter is able to walk on the water until he became overwhelmed with fear with the wind and the waves. So keep your eyes on Jesus. You'll be able to overcome. You'll be able to walk on the water. And it's fear, the unbelief is so infectious. The 12 spies that went in, 10 came back with an unbelieving report, and Caleb and Joshua had to wait forty years to go in. And all that time they were holding in their heart knowing that God was gonna give them the victory, but they had to wait because those of that were unbelievers, that were fearful, held the multitude back. So and then this one I like, Proverbs twenty eight one. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion. Don't you love that? Mhmm. Uh-huh. The wicked flee. The righteous are as bold as a lion. Now here's what I wanted to finish with. We went to we went to defy the other day. I took the kids, the grandkids, and there was a point in time there, and I told Gideon about this today. I was so so blessed to watch. He's just a little guy. And it came this point in time with this flat area where the kids were gonna wrestle. And there's this big kid there, and he's he's a soft hearted big kid. Real he took it easy, I think, on him. But, anyway, when it came time to wrestle, Gideon's, like, 15 feet away, and he charged him like David charging Goliath. Just charged the kid and just jumped on him, you know, bold as a lion. You know? To me, I'm looking you're gonna get slammed by that big kid. Don't tick him off. And he's just in there just just like it must be because he's fought his older brothers. You know? But he just he just yeah. It just I was cracking up so hard because he he lost. He went in the air. You know? And so then you picture David running toward Goliath. You know? And Goliath's all armored and everything. And and here everyone's wimping out about COVID. No. COVID. You know? And and so, again, we were trying to teach people Christianity one zero one during COVID. We were trying to remind them of Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, of David and Goliath. All the little children's nursery lessons were applicable, and it was so sad that grown adults were so overwhelmed with fear. Unbelievable. Ninety nine point nine percent recovery rate, and we can't even drive in our car without wearing two masks. You know? It's just mind boggling to me. Never in my life had I seen such a a twilight zone, you know, such a a strange thing. And it all it all centers on fear. It centers on believing a lie, imagining things, taking the bait, all the stuff they're putting out there, and then and not going to God. You know, why weren't the pastors going to God, asking God, hey. Should I shut the church down? You know? I mean, just ask the Lord. It's a no brainer. But for some reason some reason, very few people were were willing to stand like Gideon as bold as a lion and say, no. You've crossed the line, And we're not gonna we're not gonna you know, like in in acts four, you're working to obey God rather than men. You've crossed the line. We're we're gonna worship Jesus. You know? And so it grieves my heart. It grieves my heart when when I see the devil laughing at us that I tricked you. I tricked you. You know? And and and they they they mock us. Like, there's times where I say stuff like, you know, Obama is so incredibly demonic, not even a US citizen. There was a picture of him today with Valerie Jarrett. Valerie Jarrett has Iranian parents. And then there's a guy named Axelrod, and then there's Obama. Now these guys are called what's what's known as red babies. These red babies are born and then groomed in communism their whole life, and then they emerge as adults to do what they've been taught to do, and that's what they're doing, taking down America. And not only that, but morally attacking America where Obama is a is a homosexual. He's got a supposed wife. The children you'll you'll see research showing the children belong to other people. They just borrowed these kids. And then you got Michael, a linebacker from Oregon State dressing up as a woman. Now here's what I hear. They're laughing at us. They're laughing because they tricked everybody. They tricked everybody, and they sit back and they laugh how stupid the Christians are, and we don't even have a clue how deep the rabbit hole goes with that deception. We only get to know what they tell us in their narrative on the mainstream media. You know? That's all you get to know. And, fortunately, more and more people are real realizing the mainstream media is deceiving. But once you're deceived and once you're afraid, you're not gonna be as bold as a lion. And if you know you're righteous, if you know you're innocent, if you know you haven't done anything wrong, you're gonna have a lot of courage to fight against injustice and that which is evil. You're you're not gonna be as susceptible to with the scriptures. Bold with your truth and not cower in fear of whether people are gonna like us or not, but just help us be truthers, Lord, to stand for you, your incarnate truth. So bless, we pray. Wake people up. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Alright. That show that criminals commit less crimes when they're shot. I like
