Give us ears to hear and hearts to apply these truths to our lives, Lord. Watch over and protect us during this holiday season. Lord, help us to keep Jesus at the very center and keep the main thing the main thing and not get caught in all of the the worldliness, the things that stress us out, Lord. Help us to enjoy your peace, Lord, as you sent your son to be the prince of peace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Alright. The word of the word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all of his army and all of the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion and all the peoples fought against Jerusalem and against all of its cities. So Jeremiah has a message from the Lord to Zedekiah who's the king, And he says, thus saith the Lord God of Israel, go and speak to Zedekiah. So Jeremiah's instructed, go speak to Zedekiah, king of Judah, and tell him, thus saith the Lord, behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire. Now how can anybody say that we are not allowed to talk about politics? He's instructed to go to the king. K? Now if he goes to the king with a soft message, he'll save himself. If he goes to the king with the truth, he's going to prison. K? So you're either a coward, you know, to not say anything today as you're watching all this stuff happen, you pastors, or you're a man of God that that you just you just do what God God says. Like Balaam, a false prophet, he told he told king Balak, all I can do is say what he he give me to say. No more, no less. You know? So if a false prophet understands that, how much more the pastors today need to speak up? So one of the things as we're going through here, Rob and Vicky and I have been talking. I've been I've been harping on this for so many years. The podcast Be Not Deceived, the greatest weapon of the wicked one is deception. And we're in a spiritual battle. And if we use the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, and we use the word of God like John the Baptist did with, you know, king Herod, he had a Herodias king Herod took Herodias unto himself, his brother Philip's wife, and John the Baptist had the chutzpah to let him know that that was illegal, but it got it caused him to lose his head. Jesus would speak his mind. He'd speak to the religious leaders, anybody there. And yet today, we got a whole group of guys that are wanna remain in denial that everything's gonna continue as it always has. You know? Don't rock the boat. Don't talk about prophecy. Don't talk about politics because it'll scare your people and, you know, you'll lose people. So the people are looking for a place to hide. So he's letting them know that your your city of Jerusalem is gonna be destroyed, and Jeremiah gets put in prison for this. And I could just see the cowardice guys saying, you know, be nice. Lie to the guy. Lie to the people. Be nice. Lie to him. Just tell him lies. Tell him smooth things. You know, they want teachers having eighteen years. Just just tell fables and doctrines of demons to keep the people, you know, in a you know, in a in a little bubble. And thou shall not escape out of his hand. So king Zedekiah, you're not gonna escape out of his hand. Now he does try to escape. Part of what's gonna happen here, we'll see in chapter 37 and in second Kings 25, part of what happened was the the Egyptians, they came to help rid the Babylonians of, you know, surrounding Jerusalem. So when this happened, Nebuchadnezzar and his and his armies had to leave the siege that they'd put on Jerusalem. So then the false prophets jump in and say, see, see, we're not gonna lose the city, but that was short lived because the Babylonians wiped out, the pharaoh wiped out the Egyptians, then they came back and finished what they'd started. So so you oh, and Zedekiah tried to flee out the back door. And as he's fleeing, the Chaldeans grabbed hold of him, brought him back. And then, eventually, what when we see here, you're gonna see me eyeball to eyeball face to face. That's when Zedekiah has some eyes. But all of his kids, his sons are all gonna be executed before his eyes, then then they're gonna pluck his eyes out. The the they're gonna take Zedekiah to Babylon. And so all he had to do to avoid this was repent. All Zedekiah had to do was surrender to king Nebbe. Don't listen to the false prophets. Simply listen to Jeremiah. God's instructing you. And if you repent, it'll go well with you. You'll still lose your kingdom. You'll still lose Jerusalem, but it won't be as severe. So thou shall not escape out of out of his hand, thou shall surely be taken and delivered into his hand, and thine eye shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with your mouth, mouth to mouth, and thou shall go to Babylon. So he's gonna be deported as a captive. And let's turn to second Kings 25. So we'll see Jeremiah's prophecy, and now we'll see the fulfillment of it. So how about we have Robbie read the first seven verses? She's got a good reading voice, by the way. Do you have a do you have a microphone for her? Yeah. No. It's on. Oh, okay. First Kings First Second Kings twenty five one through seven. Got it. Now in the ninth year of his reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came. He and all his army against Jerusalem camped against it and built a siege wall all around it. So the city was under siege until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah. On the ninth day of the fourth month, the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land. Then the city was broken into, and all the men of war fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls beside the king's garden, though the Chaldeans were all around the city. And they went by way of the Arabah. But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook him in the Plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him. Then they captured the king and brought him to the king of Babylon at Revelah, and he passed sentence on him. They slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, then put out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him with bronze fetters and brought him to Babylon. So in chapter 34, we have the prophecy. Chapter second Kings twenty five one through seven, we have the historical record thereof that it happened just as Jeremiah's warning. So verse four, yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah, king of Judah, thus saith the Lord the Lord of thee, thou shall not die by the sword. So you're gonna be captured. You're gonna have your eyes plucked out. Now I I believe that had he repented, it wouldn't have gone to the point of losing his eyes and all that. It looks like Nebuchadnezzar is letting them know that you're gonna be taken captive back to Babylon. You know? But now you're gonna be taken back to Cap Babylon blind and all your your sons, you know, executed before your eyes, but thou shall die in peace. So Nebuchadnezzar is trying to give him a dignity as a king, king to king, a certain amount of dignity. Thou shall die in peace. And with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings, who were before thee, so shall they burn odors for thee, and they will lament thee saying, oh, Lord, for I have pronounced the word, saith the Lord. So when you die, we're not gonna cremate you. That's not what was saying here. The Jews would their form of of burial, as you know, would be a tomb or a a sepulcher, and the body would get wrappings and things like that and spices and all that. And so the the skin, the sinews, everything would melt, and then the bones would just be there in a, like, a sarcophagus. And so they didn't do cremation. We don't think there's anything wrong with cremation. But if you have a problem with that, then just, you know, be buried and face face the east so that when you resurrected, you sit up, you know, with Jesus coming to the east. And so let's see here. So they take a bonfire and they put sweet incense, you know, spices and stuff, and that's what it's speaking of the burning here. So kind of a memorial, kind of a burning big bonfire, and my grandkids and and their daddy and and all them love to do a big bonfire. They do these huge bonfires. So that can be a lot of fun, I guess. And they I don't think they were doing s'mores or anything like that, but it was was commemorating him. Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words unto Zedekiah, king of Judah and Jerusalem. And so think of the courage of Jeremiah. Think of this guy. Forty years of ministry, not one person, not one convert. You know? He's got a friend Gadalaiah at the end, but they killed Gadalaiah. The the Ishmael and the worthless guys come over and kill him when and once once Zedekiah's gone and the Babylonians let the poor people remain in Jerusalem, so the poor are gonna become rich. And but when they heard that Gedaliah was like the governor of Jerusalem, then these bad dudes, one of them named Ishmael, came over and befriended them and stuff, but then but then assassinated them. And then these these low lives, you know, when Nebuchadnezzar's gonna come send guys after them, they grab Jeremiah, tradition says, and take him to Egypt. They think they're gonna flee to Egypt. And tradition says that they're such sore losers that they kill Jeremiah, you know, while he's in Egypt. Just just just cowards, such incredible cowards. And so I think of the people today's so called separation to church and state. And you we've talked about this before, but in the fifties, Lyndon Maynes Johnson almost lost an election as a senator in Texas. And the reason he almost lost it is because the church was so involved, and they were getting votes out and information out, and information's key, just key, and proper information rather than propaganda. And so, like, Obama with his production company now, the movies he's putting out with the predictive programming of, you know, the cyber attack and Klaus Schwab saying we need a cyber attack. You need to know there's gonna be one. Right? And and civil war, those those sort of things. That's propaganda. Huge amount of propaganda that goes out there. And and that's the deception. Those are the lies. Those are the things that these guys hope comes true. But the church if the church is cowering in fear and won't speak up or say anything, and and basically what happened with the church in the first couple centuries, you remember when Satan came after the church and the church just flourished with a frontal attack. The persecution that was coming against the church, like in China or in Iran presently, causes the church to explode in growth. So what happened in 03/13, Constantine institutionalized the church, and basically you had a lot of worldly guys looking for power who became a part of what's known as the Catholic church. And so you had huge amounts of unbelievers in places of leadership within the church, and this goes on to be what we call the dark ages, where the word of God was taken out of the hands of the people. So basically, when the devil recognizes he's losing by using a frontal attack, he'll come with, let's be friends. I wanna be your friend. So the church then gets infiltrated with a lot of people that think, hey, let's to be friends. Let's hold hands, sing Kumbaya, and then the church loses its strength, its power, its ability to be a counteracting influence, the light exposing the darkness. So the Lyndon Baines Johnson five zero one c three, kinda like in Europe where you have government churches. These government churches are paid by the government, and you Hitler had his churches, he, you know, he paid too. And so you're censored. That's the main thing the devil wants is false prophets can tell the truth. They can go 80% truth, but it's that 20 or 10 or 2% that's the rat poison. The rats are eating this that they think is truth. It's real food, but it's laced with poison. So that's where you and I come in, where we earnestly contend for the faith, where we approve all things, hold fast that which is good, where we're Bereans, we search the scriptures to see whether those things be so, and we all have a responsibility to expose lies. And and that's all we need to do. But if you're taking a 501C three, and you're afraid that you're gonna be audited by the IRS for telling the truth, now you've got a generation of churches, and their very next thing that happened is they took prayer in the Bible out of schools. So you if you'd have just stood up and exposed all the wickedness and evil, we wouldn't be where we're at today. And it's based upon social engineering. It's based upon lies. And and there's a famine in the land for the word of God. The word of God isn't being taught anymore, so the people don't have discernment. They don't know what to say. And then you've got these guys, these nut jobs, telling me, hey. Just share the gospel, man. Just stay with the word. You know? Stay out of politics. Well, how do you do that? How do how do you how do you compartmentalize the word of God and not deal with the the culture you're living in? You know? I've told you before that Timothy was beat to death in Ephesus as a pastor of Ephesus, later. It's not in the Bible, but tradition says he was beat to death, during the time of greatest Diana of the Ephesians. It's like a Mardi Gras celebration, and he made a statement that, this was wrong. You know? This And they came outside and beat him to death. You know? So all throughout history, those that stand up against evil and speak against evil, there may be consequences, but, but to not say anything like Bonhoeffer says is to say something. You know? Not to speak is to speak. So Jeremiah, I I just have to applaud him in how courageous he is. He's got no help. He's gonna go to prison. And as a result of this, Edekai doesn't like what he's saying. So he's gonna be airlifted to Guantanamo. You're never gonna hear it from him again, you know? He has nobody gonna help him. And just it's mind boggling. When the king of Babylon's army fought against Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left against, Lachish and Azekiah, for these fortified cities remained of the cities of Judah. So it's like 46 different fortified cities down to two that are left, just two of these, and these are the two that they're all the other ones have been lost. And so this is a part of the means of of of, fighting a, invading army. You have outpost. You have fortified cities, to stop them from getting to the capital city, which would be Jerusalem. But the Assyrians came and fought hard against Judah, they lost, but they were able to wipe out a lot of the fortified cities. And so now the with Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonians, they're just pushing on through. And so that's that's where we're at now. He says verse eight. He's gonna talk about setting the slaves free. The Jews can recognize that they're gonna lose this. They're gonna lose this war. They're gonna lose on this siege. And if you look at Lamentations, you can see that the people were just famished. They were so famished that they were eating each other's babies, you know, their own babies and stuff, cannibalism. So a siege around a city like that just doesn't allow any food sources in, and you can eat like doves, dung, and the head of a donkey, you know, going for enormous amounts of money to try and keep you alive. So you have some slaves here. Now the Jews slavery has been around around forever and people exploiting one another. And there's different reasons that people become slaves here, and we'll look at a few of the verses that pertain to that. The devil has been enslaving people for six thousand years. The devil is the little g god of this world, and he takes people captive according to second Timothy two twenty five and twenty six. The devil takes people captive. People that are unbelievers are taken captive against their will. And, now Jesus, in Isaiah sixty one one, one and two, he quoted in Luke four eighteen, the spirit of lord is upon me, and he says, to proclaim liberty to the captives in the opening of the prison to them that are them that are bound. And so we understand the the bondage of, you know, drugs, alcohol, illicit sexual activity, greed, all the all the vices of the flesh, hatred, all these things that, the devil entices us within our flesh and brings us, into bondage. Some are actually possessed. People are possessed by demons, and slaves under these demons, as slaves to their less and such. But the gospel is powerful, and we come with the message of the gospel, and the Holy Spirit comes within a person's heart and life and transform them and sets the captives free. There's no such thing as a demon possessed Christian. A house divided against itself cannot stand. So when you get saved, you're set free. Sin shall not have dominion over you. The devil can have dominion over you. The devil can still afflict. The devil can still oppress, but the devil needs permission to bring you back into bondage to your flesh. What do I mean by that? He can't overthrow your will. He can't overthrow your will anymore. Sin Romans six, we read, sin shall not have dominion over you. Now, if you delve into things of the flesh and open those doors back up, I heard of a pastor one time that a guy that was a heroin addict came into his office and got saved and wanted to get rid of the drugs that he had left over and the needle and the paraphernalia. Now this is a pastor that used to be a drug addict, and the guy dropped off the drugs and stuff, and guess what? That pastor said, I wanna try it one more time. And he went he lost everything. He got taken right down. So it wasn't that the devil overpowered him. It was that he was curious, enticed, and gave in to it. Right? So we if any man thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall. You have to beware of your weaknesses, areas of your life that you're weak in, and those should become the strongest areas of your life because they were the weak areas of your life before. Now they should become the strongest areas of your life because you're aware of that weakness. So when I'm weak, then I'm strong because I'm relying upon the Lord. So here, one of the key words here in this chapter is liberty. Set at liberty. Set the captives free. Set these slaves free. So the Jews would have slaves, and now they're being instructed by God to let them all go free. It's a year of Jubilee. And so a slave Hebrew Hebrew speaks of their ethnicity. Jews speaks of their ethnicity. And so Hebrew and Hebrewes, if any of them are slaves, they're only allowed to be a slave for six years. The seventh year, the owners are to, you know, set them free. And in a lot of ways, look at this. It's in some respects, it's employment. Some of them, like in Leviticus twenty five thirty one, a person is made a slave because they're poor. So they wanna go work for a guy in his field, and they'll you know, they he'll give them housing and and food and things like that. Others go bankrupt. So there's various reasons here, but let's let's look at what what it says here. So this is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord after king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem to proclaim liberty unto them. So who wants to read Deuteronomy fifteen twelve through 18? This is an emancipation. So what did Abraham Lincoln have? Emancipation. Emancipation. Deuteronomy what? Deuteronomy fifteen twelve through 18. Then I'll give some other verses out. Who wants Leviticus twenty five thirty nine? Oh, dear. Okay. And then somebody else, Exodus twenty one seven. I got it. Okay. And second Kings four one. I'll do that. Okay. And Exodus twenty two three through six. And you might as well when you're there with Exodus two seven, Jim Yeah. You might as well read five, six, and seven. K? Because we're six and seven. Yeah. Because we're gonna one? On Exodus 21 because we're gonna come to that. Alright. So let's look at Deuteronomy fifteen twelve through 18, Rob. 12 through 18. And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman be sold unto thee and serve thee six years, then in the seventh year, thou shalt let him go free from thee. And when thou sendest him out from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty. Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock and out of thy floor and out of thy winepress, and that thy dwelleth the Lord thy God of that well, what where within the Lord thy God hath blessed thee, thou shalt give unto him. And if thou shalt remember that thou wast abandoned in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God redeemed thee, therefore, I command these things today. And it shall be if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee because he loveth thee and and shine and thine house become because he will be with thee. And thou shalt take it all and thrust it through his ear into the door, and he shall be your servant forever. And also unto the maidservant, thou shalt do likewise. Alright. Good. So within the law, a prescription of of for Hebrews, men and women that would become slaves. And then another instance, Leviticus twenty five thirty nine. And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxed and poor and be sold unto thee, thou shall not compel him to serve as a bond servant. Okay. So poverty. Poverty could bring you to a place where you would become a slave. Exodus twenty one five through seven. And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children, I will not go out free. Then this master shall bring him unto the judges. He shall also bring him to the door or unto the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awe, and he shall serve him forever. And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. Okay. So verse seven is what we're honing in on here. One of the other ways that you become a slave is if is if a father wanted to sell his daughter out, sell her as a maid. She's not to be human trafficked or any of that, where when Edward Amaya came far reaching ministries, we see that a lot of children, boys and girls, are being sold by relatives to the cartels into human trafficking because they're so impoverished. And and then what also comes with that is the drugs. If you're a drug addict and you're really, really desperate in Costa Rica or in America or whatever, you might come to the place where you would sell your child. And so, anyway, they're they're not to be trafficked. They're not to be given. The women are the young girls aren't to be given as men are given, but for the standpoint of being a maid, maybe to help out. Like, Sarah had a maid. She had Hagar. So she's able to take Hagar from Egypt and so like a house servant, you know, clean, cook, that sort of thing. There was a provision for that. Alright. And then second Kings four one. Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, your servant, my husband, is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves. So so the creditor come and and in the case of bankruptcy, they wanna be reimbursed, and so you could lose your children in that regard. Exodus twenty two three and four. I can do that if you want. Okay. Or somebody. Oh. If the sun shall be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him, for he should make full restitution. If he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox or ass or sheep, he shall restore double. Okay. So, again, restitution, you'd have to restore. So somebody that's owed restitution, if you can't do it, then you have to become a become a slave. So within the law, that could only the duration could only be six years, and then in the seventh year to be set free. Now down when we get to verse 16, set at liberty at their pleasure to return, that ties in with what Jim said there in verses five and six of Exodus 21. And what's that description where you take and your master's a good master, and you say, don't wanna leave. It's the seventh year, and I don't wanna leave. And so you're to be taken to the priest, and you're put to your ear to the doorpost, and then they give you a piercing, and then they put a ring here in your ear. Vicky already knows. What is that described at? A bond servant. A bond slave or bond servant. So what's that mean, Vicky? What's that mean, you guys, to be a bond servant? Willing to be made care of. Yeah. So who are you a bond servant unto? Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Yeah. Now why would you be a bondservant? Because he's a good master. He's a good master. So you wouldn't wanna be a slave to the devil. Right? No. You wouldn't wanna continue in that way. So when the when you're in the community and people see you after that sixth year, what kind of glory, what kind of reputation does that give to your master when they see you with a a ring in your ear? Yeah. Right? Good master. Good master. Right? That he's a loving, kind, good master, and a much better off serving Jesus. It says in Psalm eighty four ten, for a day in thy court is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. So no matter where we fit in the kingdom of God, no matter what job he has for us, function, just simply being a Christian, serving the Lord is better than anything the world has to offer, even if my function is a doorkeeper. So Nehemiah was a butler. Right? A doorkeeper. Right? Nehemiah for king Artaxerxes. And then you see Joseph. Joseph is basically a house slave for, you know, Potiphar, and and so Abel Abel to work for Potiphar and all, and then and then with his giftedness, his dreams, and interpretations and dreams and stuff, then he eventually, you know, rose from there. But he started out as a slave being sold by his brothers into slavery, you know, on into Egypt. And so how sad that is. Now I'm watching a new show, and the guy's a Christian. He's a black man, and it's the Yellowstone guy created it. It's called Bass Reeves, and it's written from a true story, a true account. I don't know how much how much is true, but the guy's quoting verses all the time, things like that. But he's a marshal, so he comes out of the civil war, and he's really gifted at shooting, really gifted at as a as a soldier. And so when he comes out of the civil war, he escapes. And you got all these black guys that are fighting the civil war, and now this emancipation, they're free. But that don't mean you're still free. It doesn't mean that white guys aren't gonna still try and oppress you, you know, and and hold you down. So he, you can watch the shows. It's wonderful. I I really enjoy it, because there's a certain huge degree of justice through this past Reeves. And we're we're hungry for that. Right? We're hungry for law enforcement to do what they're supposed to do. So Bass Reeves goes after bad guys, and the the judge that he's under, judge Parker, is is a white guy, and he likes Bass Reeves, and Bass Reeves is is famous, I guess, at folklore. And so he's a he's like a a marshal that goes out and finds criminals, and then he either kills them, bring their boots back, and gets paid, or if they cooperate, brings them back, you know, for trial and stuff. And last night, the episode I'm gonna ruin it for you because I have to. I I can't hold back. But last night last night, he does a really incredible thing. There's this super, super bad guy that was a marshal, but instead of taking him back to be prosecuted, he made him slaves on his own property. And he began to become wealthy by exploiting these these black men and women that he was supposed to apprehend and take take back. But on his property, he said, it's either the noose or they serve me. And he's and he's cruel, super, super cruel. And and he's amassing a lot of money, enormous amount of money by doing this and other ventures. And so anyway, Bass is there, and they disarm him. And then this guy has the audacity. He Bass sees one of the guys that they previously had apprehended, and this guy didn't take him in. He handed him off to him, and he thought he killed him, but he didn't kill him. He was there, you know, in chains. And so, anyway, Bass has two guys out in the field, and all of a sudden, the guy says, get get this guy down from here and he gets him down, and then they're gonna put Bass up there in chains. And you're thinking, oh my god. Is he gonna be able to handle that? To be chained like a slave again? Is is this guy can you know, whatever. And all of a sudden, shooting starts. His two other guys shoot. Anyway, long story short, make it real fun for you. One of the guys says to Bass, what you just did here is historical. So he went into the safe, and he grabbed an enormous amount of money, and he gave the money to the guy that was the lead black guy. They let all the other guys loose, put them on horses the best they could, gave them money, and set them free. And and so it was my it was mind blowing. I mean I mean, it's it's like a fairy tale that somebody would be that honest to not keep the money for himself, to equip these guys so that they go out free. And and now they're gonna try and get to Kansas where where they're gonna be, you know, truly emancipated, truly be free. So it's pretty interesting to see the terror of just, you know, being black. And even after the war was fought, just how how ruthless and how evil and how against it is these guys. And so so anyway, he was he was he's a good lawman, and so I encourage you to watch it. You probably could stream probably tonight when you leave here. Could probably stream six episodes if you wanna binge during the holidays. There you go. It's a gift that keeps on giving when you're around me. Alright. Is it on Netflix? Or What's it on, honey? Prime. Prime? Is she sleeping? I don't know. Prime, Hulu. Probably prime. Prime? She's shaking her head. She doesn't know. Bass Bass Reeves. It's on Prime. It's on Prime. Yeah. Bass Reeves. So, anyway, it ties in with here with people being I mean, I don't think we fathom what it's like to be a slave. You know? Human trafficked. When we go to Costa Rica and we see some of these kids that are traumatized and being trafficked, and they have one little girl down there that I want you to pray for, and she's 11 years old, and we could call her Angelina. Don't wanna call her by her real name. She's in I think I told you about this last Monday. I have a Tuesday morning Zoom every Tuesday, so I did get this information on Tuesday. And she is 11 years old. She's been rescued from trafficking, and they they have her in a hospital, and she's suicidal. She's trying to kill herself. And so they've got about two months left, Gabriel said, until the state finally takes over, takes control of her. So Gabriel and his wife are able to go there and try to minister to her, but she's super angry. And it's more than rape. It's it was torture in addition to rape that she's been through, and she doesn't want to live. She doesn't want to cry. She doesn't want anything. So there's a huge stronghold there where the devil has has taken her captive, and she needs to be set free or trying to everyone's trying to pray and get the gospel through to her and try and help her and trying to get her to soften like some of the other kids have, and they respond to the gospel. Otherwise, she's gonna be institutionalized and the state will take over. So let's let's play pray for Angelina now. Father, we lift up Angelina and the others who have been human trafficked and pray for their parents and grandparents that sold them into that slavery. God, we pray they come to repentance, how horrible that must be when they when they sober up and realize what they've done. And pray for these children. We pray you give great success to Gabriel and others who are trying to rescue these kids. And, Lord, we pray specifically for Angelina tonight, and we pray God you'd set her free, that you'd open her eyes, you'd open her heart and deliver her from the power of Satan unto God, and that she'd be released, Lord, she'd be set free from the bitterness, the anger, and the pain, Lord. She's in intense pain, huge amount of pain within her heart. And we pray, Lord, that you would put that balm of Gilead to assuage her heart and comfort her heart and take all that the enemies meant for evil, Lord, and let her become a trophy of your grace, Lord, as you restore her in body, soul, and spirit, Lord. Restore her mind in Jesus' name. Amen. Alright. God forbid that it would be us or one of our our children or grandchildren. So so that even a man should let his men's servant and every man his maidservant, being a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free, and none should enslave them to it a Jew, his brother. And so year of Jubilee, let him go free, and how that must feel. And then what's happening is the slave owners are starting to recognize that the seeds that Nebbe's putting on them is for real, and they're not gonna get out of this. And they welcome the idea of releasing them because they have the responsibility of feeding them. And they there's an inability to work the fields or to be productive for these slaves. So, yeah, why not release them? But then watch what happens. So now when all the princes and all the people who had entered into the the covenant covenant so there's a covenant that they're making, and in verse 15, a covenant, and then in verse over here on the right hand side, covenant verse we'll get to it. I think it's 18. This covenant is is it's an agreement. So we have a phrase that we call cut a deal, cut a covenant. So they take and they cut like in Genesis with Abraham, Genesis fifteen nine through 21, when they took a calf and cut it, that was part of the God making the covenant with Abraham. So they had done right in the sight and proclaim liberty every man to his neighbor and made covenant before me in the house, which is called by my name back back at verse 15. But anyway, let's back up. So you made this covenant, this agreement to let them go free, made servant free, that none should enslave them and no more should they obeyed and they let them go. So anyway, they they let them go free. And then what happens is the Egyptians come. The Egyptians leave the area of Egypt and they're coming over toward them. And as they're coming toward them, let's turn to chapter 37, verse four through 13. Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people for they had not put him into prison. Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt, and when when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem. So this is when the guys renege on their covenant, when they start to think that, alright, the pharaoh with Egypt's coming, the Babylonians are leaving the siege. Hey, we're gonna win. Then came the word of the Lord under the prophet Jeremiah saying, thus saith the Lord God of Israel, thus shall you say to the king of Judah who sent you unto me to inquire of me, behold, the pharaoh's army which has come to help you shall return to Egypt into their own land. And the Chaldeans shall come again and fight against this city and take it and burn it with fire. Thus saith the Lord, deceive not yourselves. Don't deceive yourselves. So false prophets this is a great time for false prophets to deceive people because people are hoping. They're hoping. They're hoping for the second coming of Trump. Great time for people to be deceived. And, he's a globalist. If you don't understand he's a globalist, you don't understand anything. If you don't understand that, Yahoo's a globalist. 80% of his people jabbed. You don't understand anything that's in play. It's it's no longer nation state against nation state. It's globalist bankers against people. People, all people are the target, and the digitalization with the ID and the currency is gonna enslave all of humanity. And that's that's what's in play presently. The beast system is being put in place. And so you see the intensity of it in Revelation thirteen sixteen through 18. No man will be able to buy or sell without a mark on the right hand of the forehead. That's where the world is headed. That's where we're going. And so the erosion of liberty, the erosion of freedom, the erosion of sovereignty and nation states and borders. I told you guys before, it's mind boggling to think, but this Danbar cutoff in Panama, this is real close to Costa Rica where I'm going, this whole surge of military age guys that are coming, Two things happening. They don't have their wives and their children here yet, and they're able to get $3,000 in hotels immediately in citizenship in America. But more importantly, they're being listed into our military. Yeah. Ain't that mind boggling? And there's a senator on the floor saying this, admitting to it. You know? So it it's just absolutely mind boggling that the silence is deafening, that who's going to alert the people of what's really happening, you know? We're being colonized. And the Chaldeans shall come again and fight against this city and take it and burn it with fire. Thus saith the Lord, deceive not yourselves saying the Chaldeans shall surely depart from us for they shall not depart. So let me ask him, what kind of deception is in play to placate the people today in America and make everybody think that none of this is gonna happen. We're not gonna see the dollar crash. We're not gonna see Biden get past 2024. You know, what are all the hopium? What is the hopium that people would hold onto that I feel is a distraction to paralyze them as things progress toward the goal, which is the crashing of everything, the everything bubble, all of it. So the inactivity, the inability to think and act and react, people are in denial, they're just sitting there, but some of them are being fed hope. Remember when QAnon was there? Later, we found out he's CIA. People were hoping that Donald Trump would, you know, save them. And on Harbinger, on Sunday, one of the of the authors there, you can go there, Harbinger TV or Harbinger, he had a good article on a Judas sheep. A Judas sheep is a Judas goat, and the Judas goat in a in a slaughterhouse it used to be a slaughterhouse. It used to be several levels high according to him. So they would take a a goat. People wouldn't be able to lead these sheep into that facility, but a goat could. So the goat would bring them in and bring them up, and then there'd be a door up top there where the goat would leave, and those sheep would go through the whole process in that slaughterhouse of being slaughtered. And that's what the false prophets are doing. The false prophets are leading the sheep to slaughter. Tonight, I was listening to pastor Chuck, teaching while we're driving over here, and he was talking about, false prophets. And he was talking about how he gets a lot of, letters from people. Every time he mentions a false prophet by name, all of a sudden he's inundated with letters. And many of these false prophets say a lot of truth, but they also say a lot of a lot of falsehoods that a pastor, a shepherd should be able to hear and recognize and try to protect his sheep from. He says Chuck says incredulously, he says, what should I do? Tell the sheep to go out and just play with the wolves? Don't worry about it. Just go outside and play with the wolves? Goes, I can't do that or I wouldn't be a shepherd. You know? So deception is powerful. And when I did my Israel bus trip, our bus was divided in half because I had a false prophet on the bus with a woman that ponied up with him, and he was saying over and over again, Jesus is the son of God, not God. And this was a guy that was not converted yet. He wasn't converted. The Lord our God is one God. He didn't understand the second person, the Trinity, or a third person. So he did it a few times, and I'm a bus pastor, and he would also come on there after Chuck would teach at a certain spot, and we'd come back on the bus. There's, like, 50 people on my bus. And he would say, your pastor's mistaken. And he so he'd contradict Chuck. And so I'm like, oh, man. At when it comes to the deity of Christ, you've you've gotta speak up. So my bus was divided in half. Half understood that what he was saying was air and were waiting for me to say something, and the other half were clueless. They they didn't know nothing. So I began to directly deal with him with the microphone, and I began to go through scriptures proving the deity of Christ. So I took him to John one. I took him to Colossians one. I took him to Hebrews one. Took him and so I'm proving that Jesus is God. And this woman gets up out of her seat, walks to the front of the bus where the microphone is, and says, stop it right now. Stop it right now. You're offending me. You're offending me. And she was a young gal. Her mother was there. Her assistant pastor was there, and he was quiet. He was afraid of his family. So, anyway, it was a mess. But later, that lady's pastor said that if I had I not spoken up, then I wouldn't have been a pastor. So he recognized the importance of how important it is. It's not who can be the most popular. You know? You're you're gonna you're gonna say things like Jeremiah is saying things here that people, you know, don't wanna hear. But in this case here, the the true prophet Jeremiah has to wait now because all of the false prophets on YouTube are gonna capitalize on this, and it's gonna look like, you know, oh, wow. Trump is coming back. We are getting America back. And then it's gonna come down so hard. And, but so many people are gonna get caught in the in the twenty twenty four election cycle. And you have to ask yourself, why would you think like that when they stole the previous election? Why would you think about January 6 when Trump did nothing? And why would you think like that when two buses now they're exposing were filled with FBI agents with MAGA hats on? You know? That's what we call propaganda. That's what we call provocateurs. That's what we call that's why Obama wants a production company Mhmm. Because you can deceive people. And so so he says, for though he had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent and burn the city with fire. And it came to pass that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army, Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin to separate himself there in the midst of the people. So he wants to get out of there. And when he was in the Gate Of Benjamin, a captain of the guard was there whose name was Erijah, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Hananiah. Remember this guy? This is the guy that prophesied against Jeremiah, and he wound up dying, you know, this false prophet. And thou fallest away to the Chaldeans. Then said Jeremiah, it is false. I fall not away to the Chaldeans, but he hearkened not to him. So, Aisha took Jeremiah and brought him into the princes wherefore the princes were angry at Jeremiah and smote him and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe for they had made that the prison. So Jeremiah over and over again keeps getting smitten, hit, and imprisoned for telling the truth. Over and over again, this is what's happening to him. And so he's courageous. He's a courageous guy. Alright. Back to our text. So this is what happened with the Egyptians. So they obeyed in verse 10, but notice verse 11 how they capitulated. But afterward, they turned and caused the servant and the handmaids whom they had let go free to return and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids. So they are not following God's plan. They are going to do it their own way and they are resisting. And therefore the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, so now Jeremiah's got to deal with this. Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, I made a covenant. So notice the words free, notice the words liberty, and notice the word covenant as we move on through here. So I made a covenant. We made an agreement. We had we had an agreement. Made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. So you guys were you guys were in bondage, and I made a covenant to bring them out from being slaves. At the end of seven years so Jeremiah or Exodus 21, as we read here, two through 11. This is the covenant. Jim read it where you're supposed to let him free after six years. So I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, or out of the house of bondage, saying, at the end of seven years, let e go every man, his brother, a Hebrew, who has been sold unto thee, and when he has served thee six years, thou shall let him go free from thee, but your fathers hearken not unto me, neither incline their ear. So Joseph was sold, a lot of times they would go beyond the six years, not let him out on the seventh year. Now, are they going into Babylon, being taken captives to Babylon? Pardon me? Specifically, why seventy years? Oh, because of their they denied seven years rest. After seven years They they denied rest for the land. For the land. So so seven times seventy is or four hundred ninety years, they didn't allow the land rest, so they owed God seventy years. Mhmm. So that's why the number is 70 because every seventh year, they're supposed to let the land rest. They didn't let it rest. And so now four hundred ninety years later, the lord says, you owe me seventy. And so they're that's Jeremiah let Daniel know. Daniel understood we're gonna be here for seventy years. So here in this case, god has a covenant with them. After six years, let these let these slaves go free, but they don't care. There's no there's no consequences. They've lived during a time of prosperity, and there hasn't been any correction at this point. The other aspect of it is they got heavily involved in idolatry, so God's gonna now send them to the very center of the world of idolatry, which is Babylon. And they're gonna be disgusted with the extent of the the idolatry there in Babylon. And they're also going to learn, as we've as we've read before, they're gonna learn commerce. They're gonna become very good businessmen and coupled with Alexandria, Egypt, and they're going to be Jews that go throughout the world and and engage in business, being businessmen. And and they're very, very good at it, and they didn't want to go back. Ezra and Nehemiah in the time of going back after the seventy years, they had a hard time getting people to go back because who wants to go back and rebuild something? What's it gonna produce? You know? Do we wanna go back and be farmers again? Gonna be a lot of work to rebuild, you know, the fields and such and get them productive and all that. We found a way to make you know, to live quite well, you know, with commerce. So so that's part of it. So out of the house of at the end of seven years yet go every man, his brother, a Hebrew who has been sold under thee. And when he has served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee, but your fathers hearken not unto me, neither incline their ear. So he that has an ear to hear, let him hear. These guys are not hearing. And you were now turned and had done right. So now you you turn for a second there and you were doing right. You're letting everyone go free in my sight and proclaiming liberty, every man to his neighbor, and he had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name. So we we had an agreement, made the covenant, but but notice verse 16, but you turned. So you turned back. So we we think in terms of a dog returning to its what? Vomit. Vomit and a pig? To his wallowing. To his wallowing. Now why does a dog go back to its vomit, and why does a pig go back to wallowing in the mire? It's their nature. The nature. What about their nature? It's their animal nature. So they don't have a change of nature. So if we're using that illustration to describe a person, we can identify an unbeliever as one that hasn't had a new nature. They haven't been born again. So eventually they will return to their vomit, return to their old fleshly lust. And so that's what's happening here, is God wants our heart. We can externally obey the Lord for a period of time and appear to be a Christian, appear to be whatever. But Christianity is an internal. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is pointing out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees in that outwardly they'd wash the outside of the with a white walled sepulcher, but inwardly, they were full of dead men's bones, corruption within. So he constantly was exposing to them the wickedness of their heart. If you look upon a woman with lust in your heart, you've already committed adultery. If you're angry with your brother, you've already committed murder. So the law was to show them their need of a savior and that they in and of themselves couldn't change their spots. They couldn't change their nature. They cannot rehabilitate themselves. They need to be born again. They need to be born from above. If any man be in crisis, a new creation, the old things are passed away, all things have become new. So these guys, based upon the law externally, expediency, it was expedient for them at a time, pragmatic, to let the slaves go. Now they're thinking, hey. I need those slaves again. So they go back on their word to God, and you don't wanna make a vow to God and then go back on that on your word. Right? So liberty every man and his neighbor, and he had made a covenant before me in my house, which is called by my name. So he made a public promise unto God, but he turned and polluted my name. So he dishonored me. But ye turned and polluted my name and caused every man his servant and every man his handmaid, whom you had set at liberty at their pleasure to return and brought them into subjection to be unto you for servants or for handmaids. And so if any of them wanted to come back at their pleasure, then they can become a bondservant, right, and get the the whole thing. But you're forcing them to, and that's why, like, on that Bass Reeves show last night, you know, the these the civil war was fought. These guys were emancipated, but now they're being brought into cruel slavery. And many of them were defending themselves against, you know, people that didn't regard them as having any rights at all. So they might kill a former slave owner or kill a white man for some injustice that he's trying to do to them. But they're the criminal now. They're the one being hunted down. They're the ones that gotta prove their innocence. And so that's what Bass Reeves was trying to sort out. And so it's pretty it's a pretty interesting story. Pretty I hope I hope it has a lot of truth and balance because the hero is a black man, a black lawman. And I don't care if he's black, brown, yellow. None of us care. We're but I'm I'm I'm relieved that who's ever trying to do all the woke stuff, you know, that we actually have like a Ben Carson here. We have Michael Jordan. We have people that are just good people, you know, that love Jesus. You know, it has nothing to do with skin color. You know what I mean? It has to do with the righteousness. And I'd applaud I'd applaud anybody that just stands for righteousness, but we're supposed to be dividing over ethnic groups, nation rising against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and that's, you know, that's not of the Lord, not of the Lord at all. So so you but you returned and polluted my name and caused every man his servant, every man his handmaid whom he had set at liberty and their pleasure to return and brought them into subjection to be unto you for servants and for handmaids. Therefore, thus saith the Lord, you have not hearkened unto me in proclaiming liberty, everyone to his brother and every man to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the so the liberty I'm gonna give you, I'm gonna free you to the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, you princess. You princess coulda lived. You princess coulda went into Babylon, you know, and or you could have stayed in Jerusalem, but now I'm gonna cause you to die by the sword, the pestilence, and the famine. Turn to second Samuel 24. Second Samuel 24. Now, king David, he's known for being a man after God's own heart. Right? And he's known for having sinned against Bathsheba. But there's another sin that David committed that was probably worse than his sin with Bathsheba and murdering Uriah the Hittite. In many ways, was it was it was worse. Oh, excuse me. My vertigo is getting me. I'm telling you. Just kidding. Alright. So here we are in chapter 24, and David numbers the people. He's not supposed to number his people. Joab, his general, is like like, don't do this. Don't do this. And it's because of his pride. He's getting toward the end of his end of his ministry. And so it says, and again, the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel and he incited David against them to say, go number Israel and Judah. For the king said to Joab, the captain of the host, who is with him, go now through all the tribes of Israel from Dan even to Beersheba. So it's interesting. David's put up with pride, but God does wanna judge his own people, Israel. And so part of the judgment is gonna be the result of David's sin, you know? Now God doesn't God might test us, but he doesn't tempt us or force us into sin. So David could have said no. He could have said no to the enticement. God tempts no man. So the pride that's there brings David rather than the battle belongs to the Lord when you're killing Goliath. Now you're trying to show everybody how strong your military is and your prowess as a, you know, as a general. But the king said to Joab, the captain of the host, who is with him, go now through all the tribes of Israel from Dan even to Beersheba, a number of the people that I may know the number of the people. And Joab said unto the king, now the Lord thy God add unto the people as many as they are a hundredfold that the eyes of my Lord the king may see it. But why does my Lord the king delight in this thing? But the king's word prevailed against Joab and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king to number the people of Israel. So we're really into numbers, aren't we? How many people attend Calvary Birmanon? Do you ever count? I never count. I never count. I don't even know. I I embellish it. Tell them a couple 100. Evangelistically speaking, evangelastic you know, I usually tell people 50 to 70. Right? And they're kind know it fluctuates 50 to 70. But one thing about us pastors, if the numbers go up, the budget goes up, and the buildings go up, that's our glory. We love to give a tour of our property. We love to walk them through and show them all the things that epitomize our success and how big we are and the number of people. But that's not God's way. That's not he's he's not impressed because we're relying on him. Right? But the king's word prevailed against Job, against the captains, against the host. And Job and the captains of the hosts went out from the presence of the king to number the people of Israel. And they passed over the Jordan and encamped in Eorr, and the right side of the city lies in the middle of the valley toward Gad and toward Jazer. And they came to Gilead into the land of Tethim Ad Hod, Hishe, and they how do you like that, Shem? That was good. And they came to Danjan and about the Asidon, and came to the stronghold of Tyre and all the cities of the Hivites and the Canaanites, and they went out to the South Of Judah even to Beersheba. So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people under the king, and there were in Israel 800,000 valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were 500,000 men. Now, Vicki's, during church Sunday, was reading about Gideon in the book of Judges while was talking. And she discussed it with me afterwards like it was a noble good thing. Right? And how many people did Gideon start out with? Anything you tell me is going into the sermon. You know that. So 32,000, was it? 32? Okay. How many? How many? I can't remember. 32,000. Okay. Then it came down to 10,000. Still too many. God wanted to do a miracle, and he didn't want, you know, anybody getting the glory except him. Then he brought it down to 300. How do you get it down to 300 from the 10,000? Just the ones who drank it from their mouth in the water with their hands. And the Sunday school teacher out there, why that? Why were they chosen? They were observing and what was going on around them. Their eyes were watching. So down to 300. Right? Now the lord didn't need even the 300. Right? He could have done it just with one guy. One guy. Right? One guy. He could have done it with a one angel kill a 185,000. Right? Yeah. We don't need 12 legions of angels, Peter. You know? So here you got enormous amount of people. Boy, David has rode the wave. He's come in to be the king, the son of Jesse. He's his tenure, his time is is we're at the end of the book. You know? It's time for him to die and and give it over to Solomon. So David's heart smote him after he had numbered the people. And David said unto the lord, I have sinned greatly in what I have done. And now I beseech thee, oh lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant for I have done very foolishly. And when David rose in the morning, the word of the Lord came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying, go and say unto David, thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three wishes. Wishes. Now God's saying to the princess, I'm delivering you to the sword, the pestilence, and the famine. Now your judgment's going to be the sword, pestilence, famine. Would you guys choose the sword to fight against a foreign enemy? Would you choose pestilence, the COVID jabs? You know? Would you choose famine? Bill Gates buying up all the food, you know, buying up everything. How do you want God to judge to cull the herd to remove the Daigle report down to 90,000,000 people before 2025? What means would you taste laughing at me? You know the Daigle report. Right? Okay. So what would you choose? Watch what happens with David. Thus saith the lord, I offer thee three things, choose thee one of them that I might do it unto thee. Lord, that's not very loving. That's not very loving. Where is your grace, man? Where is the grace? So Gad came to David and told him and said unto him, shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? Do you want seven years of famine, David? Or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies? David fled from Saul for ten years. Or wilt thou be shall seven years of famine come upon thee in in the land, or shall they flee three months before thine enemies while they pursue thee, or wilt thou there be three days pestilence in thy land? Now consider and see what answer I shall return him who sent me. And David said unto Gad, I am in deep distress. Let us fall now in the hand of the Lord for his mercies are great and let me not fall in the hand of man. That's what you gotta get through. David knew that God was merciful and in my judgment, I don't wanna be judged by my fellow man. They're ruthless. I wanna follow the hand of the lord because he's gracious, and he might pull stay his hand, you know, off a little bit. So I choose the three days of pestilence that you're gonna bring. So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel in the morning, even on the time appointed, and there died of the people from Dan even unto Beersheba, 70,000 men. That's a calling. Right? They didn't number the people. And when the angel stretched forth one angel, one angel, and when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented of the evil and said to the angel who destroyed the people, it is enough. Stay now thy hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Veruna, the Jebusite. Right? And David spoke unto the Lord when he saw the angel who smote the people and said, lo, I have sinned and I've done wickedly, but these sheep, what have they done? David has a shepherd's heart. What have they done? Let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me and against my father's house. And Gad came that day to David and said to him, Go up, bear an altar unto the Lord and the threshing floor of Aruna, the Jebusite. This is Mount Moriah. This is where God's gonna offer his son one day. And Gad came that day to David, and this is the place where Abraham was to offer Isaac years before. David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the Lord had commanded and Aruna looked and saw the king and his servants coming toward him. And Aruna went out and bowed himself before the king on his face on the ground. And Aruna said, why is my Lord the king come to his servant? And David said, to buy the threshing floor of thee, to build an altar unto the Lord that the plague may be averted from the people. So how effective is worship? How effective is worshiping the Lord? The church is essential. You can't sing anymore. You can't gather anymore. How is it in the spiritual realm? How essential is it what we do in the spiritual realm as we worship the Lord? The second Chronicles 20, you know, Jehoshaphat knew that the Ethiopians and all them that were coming at him, was too big of a host, too big of an enemy that they could handle. And Lord, we don't have the power. Lord, neither know we what to do, but our eyes are on you. And then the Lord had them send the singers in front, and they began to worship the Lord. And when they began to worship the Lord, the enemy began to kill themselves. So that it was a spiritual battle and the Lord fought for them as they worshiped the Lord. Yeah. Of his people. Inhabits the Amen. Thank you, Greg. That's right. And we we many times try to look for carnal fleshly means when it's a spiritual battle. And so to buy the fleshing floor of thee to build an altar under the Lord that the plague may be averted from the people. And Iruna said unto David, let my Lord the king take an offer up that seems good unto him. Behold, here oxen, here burnt sacrifice and threshing instruments, and other instruments oxen of the wood. And all these things did Aruna, like a king, give unto the king. And Aruna said unto the king, the Lord thy God accept thee. How gracious Aruna was, you can have it. You can have it. And David, I know you sinned, but may the Lord accept you, David. May the Lord accept you. And the king said unto Aruna, no. This is very important here, very important. No, but I will surely buy it of thee at a price, neither will I offer burnt offerings under the Lord my God of that which does cost me nothing. It's not worship unless it cost you something. Serving the Lord's gonna cost you everything. You're gonna be a bond servant, a bond slave. Everything's gonna be left behind. It all belongs to him. Your life is gonna be a living sacrifice offered unto him. So count the cost. If any man come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow me. So David brought the threshing floor and the oxen for 50 shekels of silver. And David built there an altar under the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord was entreated for the land and the plague was averted from Israel. Seventy thousand men died there. And so back here, the princes, they should have known the heart of God, right? I will make you to be removed into the kingdom of the earth, and I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant, which they have made before me when they cut the calf in two and passed between these parts. So verse 15, that was we get the term cutting a deal. This is where it comes from. Cut the covenant, the cutting of the calf, just like we saw in Genesis where God cut the calf to confirm the covenant that he made with Abraham. So the princes of Judah and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs and the priests and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf, the leadership passed by, I will even give them into the hand of the enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life, and their dead bodies shall be for food under the fowls of heaven and to the beasts of the earth. They're gonna be slaughtered because they're greedy, lazy, and and they're deceptive. They went back on their word. Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes, while I give into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army who are gone up from you, should have trusted God. Some trust in horses, some insurance, but we're gonna trust in the living God. Right? Since God's for us, who can be against us? And when our time's up, we're going home. When it's not, you know, it's not. So whatever kind of danger is up ahead, no matter what you're facing, you're invincible until that point in time the Lord says, it's your time to come home. Behold, I will command, saith the Lord, and cause them to return to the city and they shall fight against it. So the Babylonians are coming back. They had to leave briefly to go after Pharaoh and the Egyptians, we saw in chapter 37. And so I'm gonna bring them back to return to this city, and they shall fight against it and take it and burn it with fire, and I'll make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant. So you're gonna be seventy years as slaves in Babylon. And who wants to read Luke four eighteen? And somebody else Isaiah 61. Luke four eighteen. Isaiah what? 61. Sixty one one and two. One and two. All those hours. Okay. And, Jim, you can find in acts Paul describing the power of the gospel, and I believe it's 20. You can go in 26, Jim. Read twenty six sixteen through 18. Okay. So we're gonna look at the captivity, being slaves, freedom, liberty, the spiritual bondage the world has been in for six thousand years when Adam and Eve fell and they gave over to the devil, he became the little g god of this world. So our first federal head, Adam, was told to be fruitful to multiply and take dominion over the earth. When Adam sinned, Adam lost that hierarchy. He lost that position, and Satan, the usurper, Jesus didn't refute that Satan, when when he was tested in Matthew four didn't have power to give him all the kingdoms of the world. Right? He simply reverted to the scripture and said, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve. So in Revelation five, Jesus has the title deed to the earth because he's the creator, but he had to go redeem it. He had to pay the price of redemption to regain the real estate, to regain the treasure that's in this field, which is you and I, because we were slaves. We became slaves to the devil. So he couldn't just set us free. He had to die upon the cross of Calvary to pay the price of redemption to allow us to be free. Alright. So in I Luke four eighteen. Now is it 418And19, Shannon? Who's got it? I got it. Okay. Four eighteen and nineteen. What was Jesus there? The great day of the feast, he stood and he said, the spirit of the Lord is upon me. Yep. K. The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recover the sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he stopped there and closed the scroll. Now when Jim reads or Shanna reads Isaiah 61 But she's gonna she's gonna bring it into the second coming. Jesus stopped at his first coming. Right? He stopped there. He didn't continue. Now watch what happens when The spirit of the the spirit of the lord god is upon me because the lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our That's the second coming. Jesus stopped short of that. Acceptable year of the Lord. Right, Rob? Yeah. And then now the day of vengeance. And to comfort all that mourn. Second coming. People are mourning. Whole world's been mourning. It's gonna take Jesus coming back to take possession of that which he created, that which he redeemed. We've been sealed with the holy spirit. The earnest down payment has been given to us, mark of ownership that we're redeemed, but now he's gotta come for that purchased possession. He's gonna take take the plan of that. So, Jim, now the gospel. What's our methodology? How can we be a part of setting the captives free? 16 to 18, you said? Mhmm. But rise and stand upon thy feet for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee, delivering thee from the people and from the Gentiles, unto whom I now send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Ain't that great? Amen. Set the captives free, sharing the glorious gospel, the Lord changed them from the inside. He who the sun sets free is what? Free. Free indeed. Right? Right. Father, we thank you. Lord, we're so excited about this Christmas season that we get to celebrate the incarnation, the birth of our lord and savior, the babe of Bethlehem. And Lord, it never gets old. We we just cherish being able to have bible studies and go to church and and have lunch with one another and be friends and family and, Lord, to minister one another. We thank you that you're the one that causes this communion, Lord. As we draw near to you the bread of life, your life is assimilated in each of us. And Lord, we enjoy a quality of life that the world, can't even fathom. And so Lord, we thank you for drawing us into this friendship, into this love relationship. And Lord, anoint and empower us to be used of you, to help alleviate people, who are in pain, Lord, with sharing the gospel, loving on them, caring for them, building them up, encouraging them, and reaching out as as best we can, Lord, and pointing them to Jesus, pointing them to you, Lord. So bless this night. Bless this day. Bless as we go home. Bless this week, Lord. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
