Jeremiah 34
Pastor Rick Beaudry walks through Jeremiah 34, recounting Jeremiah’s courageous warning to King Zedekiah about Babylon’s siege and the historical fulfillment recorded in 2 Kings 25. He confronts the cowardice of false prophets and church leaders who avoid hard truth, explains the Jubilee law to proclaim liberty to Hebrew slaves, and denounces those who freed servants only to re-enslave them when political hopes returned. Rick ties the chapter to spiritual bondage today, urging us to wield Scripture against deception, heed Luke 4 and Isaiah 61 about setting captives free, and learn from David’s pride and judgment. He closes with prayer and a plea to act compassionately in rescuing the trafficked, praying specifically for an eleven year old rescuee named Angelina, and challenges us to be bold, repentant, and faithful.
