Revelation 8
Pastor Rick Beaudry explores Revelation 8, examining the half hour of silence after the seventh seal and the seven angels given seven trumpets as the opening of trumpet judgments. He distinguishes these trumpet judgments from the rapture's "last trump," highlights the prayers of the martyrs rising as incense, and draws on Joshua and Jericho to explain the repeated use of seven and the warfare motif. Beaudry unpacks the early trumpet plagues, including hail and fire, a burning mountain cast into the sea, and the star Wormwood turning waters bitter, and warns that the woes will intensify. He urges us to be sober and watchful, reminds us believers are delivered from the wrath to come, and calls for prayerful witness and readiness.
