Good evening. It's Monday night live from Bremerton. Welcome to Calvary Chapel Bremerton bible study. I'm Mark Dinsmore filling in for pastor Rick, who's on a vacation anniversary trip with his beautiful wife, Kathy, and, we wish them the best in their, week their time down there. Let's open in a word of prayer. Father God, we do love you. We thank you. We praise you. You're such an awesome God. Thank you for creating this, for saving us, Lord, for making it possible for us to know you through the gift of your son, our savior. Thank you for the precious promises of your word. And, Lord, we just are so fascinated by what you've made, Lord, out of nothing. You created by speaking into existence, God, as only you can. Lord, there is none other but you. You were great and greatly to be praised. And, Lord, we look forward to doing that in worship and song. And, father, just ask that you'd superintend in our hearts and minds in this wonderful material that just reveals some fascinating truths about your creation, the flood, and, Lord, about Noah's ark. So we look forward to learning tonight and ask that you would work in our hearts and minds. In Jesus' name, we ask. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. I'm forgiven That's a little bit of feedback. That sounds fun. Think about his love. Amen. Thank you, brother Rob. Alright. Good to see everyone here. And everyone that's not here online, thanks for joining us this evening on a very warm Monday night. We're grateful to be inside tonight, in the indoors, get a little air conditioning, get a little fan circulating. So, looking forward to our study tonight. Well, this is our third installment of dismantling myths about the flood and Noah's ark. And we've had a lot of we've covered a lot of territory in the first two weeks. And tonight, we gotta pull out of the stops. We got a long way to go and a short time to get there. We're gonna cut cover Genesis six, seven, eight, nine, or at least elements of them. We won't be doing verse by verse tonight, so a little different format. We've got more slides for those who've gone online. Hope, we'll enjoy sharing those, and some of you have your devices here. And we've also got a couple of handouts around the room. Brother Rob allowed me to hang this map of the ocean floor, which we'll talk about shortly over his beautiful ship display. So thank you for letting me do that. And I don't know if you can see them, but we have poster prints that we'll describe later, and we'll also have those available to look at afterwards. And okay. Well, I wanted to share briefly why this topic is so special to me. And I mentioned before or I'm and and part of my testimony growing up is that, my mother was a a lapsed Christian, or a backsliding Christian. I think that she would have put herself in that category. But, she recently went home to be with the Lord, and we uncovered notebooks and letters that we had never seen before. And one of them was the sweetest testimony, and it seemed like she had a genuine salvation experience around the time I was in fourth or fifth grade. And so after that period of time, she became quite hungry for the word as many of us were or are in our early our young walk, and, we need to cultivate that, don't we? But it's always fun to be an on fire to see an on fire new believer that just devour the word of God, devour everything. And so she began subscribing. I think it was partly because I was in fifth grade and had a brand new science textbook. And, of course, they taught the evolutionary theory of of human development. And so it was through those materials she was able to answer my questions, give me a new perspective, and I converted from an evolutionist. I was already saved through a vacation bible school program. But then I began absorbing creation literature. My father, who wasn't a believer at all, and he had always had difficulty accepting the Bible because he thought it was just a collection of stories. Right? Many of us grew up with Bible stories. And he was a very technically oriented man. He was a machinist. He was a carpenter. He was an inventor. He was a mechanic. And he he mastered quite a few of his trades actually. And so he's very technically oriented and, you know, enjoyed seeing how things worked and coming up with new ways to do things. And so when he received a book, I don't know if my mom ordered it or it came through one of the the services that my mom was subscribing to. It was called, I think, the biblical flood and the ice epic, something along that line. I think it was by Donald Patton. And it's not a book I recommend because it's got a flawed view. It's kinda like the Canopy Theory. Right? It collapsed. We've covered that. It doesn't hold water, so to speak. Neither did this man's theory about a asteroid or a comet or a planet coming in near orbit to the Earth and causing such a tidal surge in the oceans and in the lava and the magma of the Earth that it buckled the Earth's plates and caused the ocean to spill over, kinda like what happens when I get into the bathtub. And so his approach was more of a a tidal wave flood. But so it was incorrect. It was flawed, but it made sense enough to my dad with his scientific bent in his technical mind. All of a sudden, it became the bible study of the the the bible story account of Noah's flood became less of a children's story and more of a reality. And my dad loved the outdoors. He was an avid sportsman, hunter, and a rock hound, so he loved geology. I remember being very young going on rock hunts with him for obsidian and different minerals in in the woods and in the mountains. And so that's why creation science has a very special place in my heart because it brought my dad to the Lord. And it's a powerful tool for just impacting our faith and a powerful apologetic, and that's a tremendous evangelistic outreach as well. So that's why I'm excited to share this topic with you tonight. And before we get rolling on our new material, I wanna review real quickly with you just a couple of items from last week. We were talking about Rakia. Right? And it is translated in either as the firmament or as the expanse. And so we have a slide here from Strong's Concordance showing that it is has two definitions in biblical usage. The first being it's an extended surface. It's a solid. It's an expanse or a firmament. Okay? And so it's flat. It has a base. And number two is it's it's described as the firmament firmament of the vault of heaven. And the ancient Hebrews believed that it held up waters. Okay? And that's fascinating to consider. So they they thought that it supported the waters above, right, and meaning waters in the heaven. And we saw last week how, that contributed to the erroneous concept of a flat earth where there's a dome or an a vault over the heavens. I think we have a slide come up later on that. But real quick, let's look at Genesis chapter one. If you have your Bibles, go ahead and flip there. And you'll notice that in verses six through 20, we read this passage in our first week of study, and we talked about it, but we didn't really hone in on the number of times that the word firmament was used there. So God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, let it divide the waters from the waters. Thus, God made the firmament, and he divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament. Right? Lots of firmaments here. There's one, two, three, four, five. And then we come down to verse 14. Then God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night. Alright? And then in verse 15, and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth. And then in 16, then God, okay, made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness. Verse 20, then God said, let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens. So we see here nine occurrences, don't we, of the word raqiya, translated as firmament or expanse. And so we're going to see real quickly and recap again why this has confused people, not just for centuries, but for millennia, and it's contributed greatly to all manner of confusion and misunderstanding and misapplication. So we'll show the next slide here. And you see the nine highlighted cases of the word firmament. And then there's a red oval circulating circling the last four references. Does anyone see a phrase there that wasn't present in the first five mentions of firmament? It's the firmament of the heaven or of the heavens. Okay? The firmament of the heavens. Four times we see firmament of the heavens and firmament of the heavens. So this is a a definite this is a different definition of Rakia. I noticed we had two definitions. Right? One pertaining to a hammered out solid or a stretched out solid, the earth's crust. Most people agree with that. And then there was the firmament of the heavens, which the ancient Hebrews and even modern scholars and and pastors and scholars today have still tried to put a canopy of water either above the Earth's atmosphere or somewhere far out in space. Alright? But we see on the next slide, this is a diagram from Walt Brown's book, and we see the Raquia there. This is a preflood picture of of how the the crust, which was for primarily granite, alright, formed it was about a 60 mile layer of granite, not floating, but suspended over a an enormous, mile thick layer of water. Alright? And we read, in Genesis seven eleven, of course, this is where the fountains of the great deep. So this is a picture of the great deep. And then you see the earth was standing out of water and in the water, second Peter tells us, by which the world that then existed perished being flooded with water. So the hydroplate theory, which we've been discussing featured in Walt Brown's book and explained by him, offers an explanation for so much we that we see about the world today, and we'll cover more of that tonight. But this is the Raqiya or the crust of the earth, a 60 mile crust with waters below and waters above. Makes perfect sense when you see it. Right? And so we see again the reference to in Psalm one thirty six six, to him who laid out the earth above the waters. K? How many of us have just skimmed over that before? He laid it laid laid out the earth above the waters. It only makes sense if there is a ocean below. Right? Waters below. And Isaiah forty two five says, thus says God the Lord who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread forth the earth. So, again, we're talking about the heavens being stretched out. We we've covered that kind of like a curtain, right, where time and space were literally stretched. And then here we see again, he spread forth the earth. So two forms of or or expanse. And so when you when you understand that, you're able to see that there's the raqiya or crust of the earth with waters below and waters above. And there's also the expanse of the sky, but there aren't any waters above the sky. Alright. That has resulted in so much confusion through the centuries. And so I hope that little recap with some of these slides is helpful for that understanding. And, of course, this entire theory is explained in Walt's 640 page book, In the Beginning, ninth edition. I'm privileged to be a part of the production team, and this is a a preprint copy. We're now finalizing the text and proofreading it and making edits and changes. So we'll be letting you know, or pastor Rick will, when this book becomes available. Alright. It's subtitled compelling evidence for creation and the flood, and indeed, it is compelling. Alright. So tonight, I want to share just a little more of material that is in Walt's book, and many of the slides that we'll see are directly taken from the book. A few of them I've worked on. I'm a graphic designer, graphic artist, And so it's been my joy to be a part of this project, and I'm really grateful to be sharing it with you. So here on this next slide, this is a little subhead that's in this book in the chapter called Earth Sciences. Right? The Earth has experienced a worldwide flood. How many people believe that? Good. You're you're passing the test for so far because it's in the word. Right? It's in the word of God. And yet it's surprising how many believers and even Christian organizations, professing Christians, still believe in a local flood. But why Noah would need to build an ark and put all those animals on it to survive a local flood? I don't know. Just, you know, get in the hitch the wagon and and go go to the next country. So, well, this is this chapter where this section is broken up into three sections. Noah's Ark probably exists. Right? We can't say that it exists now for certain because you have to see it. Right? You have to have tangible proof. And we're gonna come to some of the expeditions, and some people believe they found it or have seen it. So that's fascinating, but it probably exists in some form, and many believe that it has been preserved. And second section says, many of the earth's previously unexplained features can be explained by a cataclysmic flood. That's absolutely true. And once your eyes are open to it, I was talking with a brother before we got started looking at this map, which will come into more detail. But, you know, it it explains the mountain ranges, the ocean trenches, the Grand Canyon, the comets and meteors in space, the woolly mammoths buried in ice frozen instantaneously, and many, many more. Over 25 earth features Walt delves into. And you're all here till midnight. Right? We're no. We won't cover that many. Just a taste. Just wanna give you a taste. Right? And then thirdly, the seemingly impossible events of a worldwide flood are credible if examined closely. So I think part of the problem, I know it was with me, is that we had didn't really have a full appreciation for the vastness and the power and the enormity of the flood because we just picture forty days and forty nights of rain falling down and a boat rising up. Not a not a big deal. Even even our storms, our our worst storms and our worst floods, no come nowhere near the level of catastrophe that we're speaking of when the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and we'll see some evidence of that tonight. Alright. So when it comes to Noah's ark, sadly, we haven't done our children a favor. Right? The the public conception is of, okay. Here we go. I got these out of order maybe. At any rate, this is a little precious moment's gift. Isn't it cute? Giraffes and elements elephants and tigers and little bunny rabbits in the portholes there overflowing with love. So cute. So sweet. And it might be delightful in a in a baby's room or an infant's room, but really this sets the stage for a lifelong learning process. So when the children grow up, they will reject God. They will reject the Bible. They will reject the biblical account of Noah because Noah's ark here couldn't even float through the flood. Now where did all this start? I was fascinated to come across this painting. Next slide. This is from 1570 or 1590. One of those two but it's a it's a famous I think he's a French painter. I don't have his name here. But this is from the sixteenth century, so late 15. That's a long time ago. Right? And do you see the similarities between the precious moments arc? It's got a little house and little birds on top. Right? And then so it's entirely plausible, likely, that modern day impressions of the arc and the way we draw them with the the the over exaggerated boat like features with a little shack on it and animals everywhere out of control. This is slightly more realistic, but you can see the proportions and the and everything conveys a boat that might be okay on a lake on a calm day, but this would never survive a global catastrophe. This wouldn't even survive the storms we have today on the ocean, let alone a global flood. Right? And so this is called I think this is the Ark on Araratus depicting the animals coming off of the Ark. Lots of mud and water, of course. Alright. So the real Ark looks much more looked much more like this according to some view. We see a picture here of the Ark Encounter. Anybody been back to see the Ark Encounter down in Kentucky? Marvelous exhibit. Highly recommend it. It's worthwhile. Take the family. Take your your your grandchildren and grandchildren. It definitely is worth a pilgrimage. It's it's it's worth the effort that you have to get there. Make sure if you go to also visit the Creation Museum, which came first built by Answers in Genesis, and then nearby is a separate park called the Ark Encounter. And as it's built here, now there are some features of this vessel that are imagined. Right? The it has kind of a fin on the back and a traditional bow, a bulbous bow on the front. And so we're not certain of of the exact details, but the arc was very some believe it to be more box like, more barge like, and that is primarily the view of ICR sinus and doctor Walt Brown as well. But this is a fascinating exhibit, and they've done this, I think, is the largest wooden building on the planet or one of them. It's and you can see and hear the people are really, really tiny. It really is. It's it's it's three floors, tons of exhibits, and you'll really enjoy it. Okay. So the precise location of the ark is an open question. And we're gonna look here at a map of this part of the globe, and you can see a red pinpoint there in Eastern Turkey. Right? It kind of borders modern day Iran. And so most of the reported sightings have been in this area. The the Bible says that the ark came to rest on the mountains of Erat, not on, you know, a singular mountain. So it's kind of a range of mountains there. There are some lower elevation mountains as well. And so there have been reports even from ancient historians such as Josephus. He's a Jewish Roman historian, and his earlier historical sources wrote that the ark existed. Alright? Marco Polo was told that the ark was on a very high perpetually snow covered mountain in Central Armenia. Alright? And from 8200 to 1700, more than a dozen other Christian and Jewish leaders wrote that the ark was still preserved, although few claimed to have seen it. K. Moving forward to about 1856, there were three skeptical British scientists and two Armenian guides who climbed Mount Arat to show that the ark did not exist. Allegedly, the ark was found, and the British scientists threatened to kill the guides if they reported the find. Years later, one of the Armenians, then living in The US, and one of the British scientists independently reported that they had found the ark. Then we come to sir James Bryce. He was a noted British scholar and traveler of the mid nineteenth century, and he conducted extensive library research concerning the ark. He became convinced the ark was preserved on Mount Ararat. And finally, in 1876, he climbed Arat and found at the 13,000 foot level, that's 2,000 feet above the timberline, very high, a piece of hand tooled wood, four feet long, that he believed might be from the ark. And then in 1883, we have a series of newspaper articles reported that a team of Turkish commissioners, while investigating avalanche conditions on Mount Arat, unexpectedly came upon the ark projecting out of melting ice. After an unusually warm summer, they claimed they entered and examined part of the ark. One of the more modern and more popularized stories is of George Hagopian, who in 1980 excuse me, nineteen o four as a ten year old boy. He was Armenian. He and his uncle climbed the mountain, supposedly reached the ark. The boy climbed on top of it and described the structure as a flat bottomed, petrified barge without nails. Alright? Even the ark encounter uses no nails in its construction. It's all giant wood pegs and dowels, which makes sense. You know, nails pull easily out of wood and dowels do not. So it had many windows in the top, and he described them. He's a 10 year boy. He said they were big enough for a cow to walk through. It's possible, especially if the roof of the ark had been partly torn torn off. Anyway, before his death in 1972, he tape record his entire testimony in detail was recorded, and he passed a lie voice analyzer test that gave no indication of lying. Again, other expeditions, there was a Russian expedition, a pilot actually flying over the mountain in World War one around 1916, thought he saw the ark. Okay? Then news of his discovery was spread, and two large expeditions were sent. The soldiers found and explored the boat, but before they could report to the czar, the Russian revolution of nineteen seventeen began. And so the report disappeared, and the soldiers scattered. Some eventually reached The United States and Canada. And then so that's there's more details of that account. Then in more modern times, 1943, we have the testimony of Ed Davis. He was a sergeant in the US army. And let's see. Before we get to his testimony, I wanna go to the next slide here. You can see there's the Ark in Eastern Turkey. And then here we see what's in that area. The inner all of our history books, it talks about the center of ancient civilization or called the Fertile Crescent. Right? And so we see here this green arc shaped like a crescent, and it's fertile because it's kind of between two rivers, the Euphrates and the Tigris. And so Mesopotamia is the middle between two rivers. Meso Middle and Potamia pertaining to rivers. And so why would this be here? Why would even secular historians and archaeologists believe that mankind began here? Well, because it did. After the flood, this is where they disembarked. Right? And they they began living in this area, and civilizations did begin to flourish. You can see the Fertile Crescent stretches all the way from Jerusalem up and around into Assyria down into ancient Sumer and all the way almost to the Persian Gulf there. So we'll go to the next slide, and you can see these are the beautiful mountains of Ararat, snow covered peaks way up there in the sky. And now we come to doctor Walt Brown went on his own Ararat expedition in a Soviet era helicopter in 1990. And the peak of Ararat, the greater mountain, is 17,000 feet. And you can see that behind doctor Brown's head there. And so they looked for a week flying in the Soviet helicopter and its crew. They had eight man team, and there was evaporation from the ice cap that produced clouds for most of the day. So, again, that's par for the course. Many expeditions have been hampered by weather in that area. And so there's another difficulty, and that is the hostile natives that live there between the Kurds. They live in this region and the Turkish government. So both sides claim control over this region, and so it's kind of hotly contested as far as getting permits to explore the mountain. Difficult to do. Another sinus creation sinus that has made multiple trips to the ark or, excuse me, to Ararat is doctor John Morris, son of Henry Morris of the Institute for Creation Research. He was my geology professor in college, and so he had similar accounts about looking for the Ark on Ararat. Okay. This is Ed Davis whom we mentioned. He was the sergeant in the US Army. I believe he is on the left. And then there's an artist, Alfred Lee, on the right. This picture is from 1986. And he he drew this picture based on the eyewitness account of Ed Davis there on the left. And he also drew a picture of the ark in the presence of another claimed eyewitness, George Hagopian, the 10 year old boy. Alright? So the ark depicted in Walt's book, we'll come to it, is based on Lee's drawing. And both the Hagopian account and the Davis account were present, and they requested many on the spot changes. They suddenly felt that they were each man was describing the same object. And so Lee said that made the hair on his neck stand up. So, again, many accounts seem to corroborate many different details over many decades. And so that is why many believe the ark is there. It just hasn't been discovered. And some have said that at the right time, God will cause the weather to, you know, warm up enough so that the ice will melt and the ark will be revealed, and it'll be another reason that men will be without excuse. So that's speculation, but it's not with with it's within the realm of possibility. So there's more folks in the nineteen fifties, a lot of men from the military, and you have to have some respect for for the men in the military. One named Gregory Schwinghammer claimed he saw the Ark from an f 100 aircraft in the late nineteen fifties. Right? He was assigned to a tactical fighter squadron in Turkey, and he said it looked like an enormous boxcar lying in the gully high up on the mountain. And he said that you two pilots had even photographed it. So now when I come to the personal account of doctor Walt Brown, I'm gonna switch back to the photo of doctor Walt Brown. And he describes remember, he was a military man. He was the director of the army's Binet laboratory. He was a colonel, and he was an instructor at the Air Force Academy. And he has a doctorate in mechanical engineering from MIT. So quite a learned man. And he was in the military here. And he said during a private meeting in 1974 with William Colby, who was the director of central the CIA at that time, Walt Brown asked if he was aware of the claim sightings of Noah's Ark. Colby said he wasn't. And then after summarizing several sightings, he said it's Walt said it's dangerous and expensive search. And he wondered if there was an object of such profound international importance could be done safely and cheaply with the technology that William Colby controlled. And perhaps the CIA already had information in its files. So weeks later, doctor Brown was contacted by a man he will call HS. Right? So protecting his identity. He said that director Colby asked him to see if any information could be provided. And so they covered many questions. About a year later, he called to say his work was completed, and he he invited doctor Brown to CIA headquarters in Langley. And he said this man had examined all of the photography of the Mount Ararat region, and he couldn't be sure if an object he was seeing was the ark or a rock. And doctor Brown asked him if after studying the information on the various claim signs, he thought the ark was on errat. He said, yes. I he asked doctor Brown asked why because he just told me that no photographs clearly show the Ark, and the man responded referring to many consistent but unverified claims. He said, quote, there's too much smoke for there not to be fire, unquote. And so Walt had great confidence in his analytical rigor and his candor. And so he believes that, as a result, that our government did have indeed information that would point to the existence of the ark. And we're going back going forward two slides to a a a drawing of Mount Ararat, and it kinda shows the glacier there. And on the right side circled in red, this is the object. It's called the Mount Ararat anomaly. And both doctor Brown and doctor Morris, when I was in college, had recounted how they looked for this object in this location. It's very difficult to reach, very difficult to access. And even when you have aircraft, it's a challenge. And so you can see there's different views of it. It does appear to be covered in ice, possibly broken apart. And, again, this arc's arc dimensions here are 300 cubits, which is roughly 500 feet by 50 cubits wide or roughly 83 feet and 30 cubits high. So it's a large vessel. And so this is called the Ararat anomaly. Now there are some other fascinating of course, there are accounts of the flood in many ancient civilizations. I think there's over 230 or so legends, you might call them. Certainly wouldn't call them myths because they're based in fact. Where did all these accounts come from? From 230 different accounts, different nations, different peoples, different languages, different cultures all over the earth that have accounts of Noah's Ark. So the Chinese have are are linked in with this history. If we go to the next slide, we see here that there is here's the Chinese word for boat. Okay? It dates to about 2,500 BC. It's one of the oldest known languages. And, of course, the Chinese ancient language is pictographs. Right? And so it's composed of different representations we see here that the word for boat includes vessel there on the left. Up on the top right, it includes ate. Alright? And below that, mouth or person. So clearly, it's telling us that the word for boat speaks of eight people on a vessel. Isn't that fascinating? In 2,500. And so there are many more many more similar things that you can discover. So I instead of covering them tonight, I just point you to some resources available. One is called the discovery of Genesis, how the truths of Genesis were found hidden in the Chinese language. Fascinating book. Another one is called mysteries Confucius couldn't solve. Alright? And this version is out of print. The new version is in the middle there, and that's still available where you can find some of these on used books stores online. So recommend reading that if you're interested. It is fascinating that ancient cultures and especially the Chinese had representations of biblical truths in their language, in their characters, in their pictographs from as early as 2,500 BC. Okay. Here are these books again. We'll slide through the three books in their full covers. Mysteries Confucius couldn't solve, analysis of ancient characters reveal intriguing facts shared with Hebrew scriptures. Okay. So now we come to the next slide is one that was fun to work on, and it's based on the concept is based on some other artwork, but this is all new drawing. So I've I located these silhouettes, and I I selected the specific ships that are here. This is and we're calling it historic wooden and steel vessels compared. Now Answers and Genesis will have a similar but different illustration in some of their literature. But the the thing to note here is that you see the wooden ships down below. That's the real impressive part. As magnificent as our modern steel vessels are, they couldn't survive Noah's flood. They would they'd sink and be at the bottom of the ocean. They wouldn't be seaworthy doom during a global catastrophe. So if you look down below there, you see the ark sitting above on top of a schooner. And it's not a schooner. Excuse me. It's a what is it? It's a Wyoming. It's the Wyoming ship. A a schooner. It's a seven mast It is a schooner. It's a very large, long schooner. Think the large largest one ever made. Yeah. Largest one built. Okay. And so Noah's Ark is even longer than that. So the the Wyoming So the the Ark, of course, was an ancient ship. Right? Noah built it, and it survived the global catastrophe. And it was the longest and largest vessel ever constructed in the history of mankind. So it's an ancient engineering marvel, right, that was probably between '34 and thirty three hundred BC, okay, built by hand and tools that Noah and his three sons had and probably some hired help. Okay. The Wyoming is a very large ship, the largest seven masted schooner. It wasn't built until fifty three hundred years later in nineteen o nine, and it was 450 feet if you measure from the back of the the jib, I think it's called, to the spanker boom. So in other words, that includes the the mass where the sails on the on the aft and the bow were. So a a large ship, but it suffered from twisting and buckling. It had to be continually pumped out, and it had iron reinforcements inside. And but, ultimately, after a period of service, it foundered and sank. It just couldn't hold up to the stress and the strain. But the Ark wasn't a fragile boat. It survived the the global catastrophe. So that's just something to consider. And, again, if you get back to the Ark exhibit, you'll have even a greater appreciation for the massiveness. Of course, we're imagining the size of the beams and the bulwarks and the structures that Noah may have used, but large, large timbers, large, large pieces of wood. Okay. Let's go to our next slide. We get a little better picture of the scale of Noah's Ark. We see it here depicted in a stadium. This is from doctor Brown's book. And, wow, it it's larger than the field, and it's from bleacher to bleacher. That is quite large. So, again, it's laughable, isn't it, that it's often depicted as such a small boat, toy like with animals sticking their heads out? And so here, this this type of arc, as we mentioned before, is based on the sketch of George George Hagopian's account that we looked at. And so, again, it's not looks like any boat we have today. It's more like an enormous barge. And, course, it was three stories, and we can assume that they were roughly equidistant. And so Henry Morris at one time calculated that they would hold it would hold 522 railroad boxcars. And, of course, he used that illustration because a lot of animals can fit in 522 river box cars. I think he calculated something like 40,000 animals the size of a sheep. Well, Walt Brown has calculated that Noah's Ark could have easily held and may have only needed 16,000 animals because as we looked before, the god created kinds of animals from which we have many variations today that we call species. And so we had dog kind originally, and now we have over 200 different types of dogs. And so the whole animal kingdom is like that. But, again, this just gives us an idea of how massive this great boat was. And the Hebrew word for ark doesn't mean boat. It actually means box, coffin, or chest. So that's why it's often depicted as such. I did my own calculations on a slightly larger ark, closer to the size of the Answers and Genesis ark. And I I believe God's given me a desire and a vision to create a scale model and even take it church to church with a a slideshow that'll be developed based on some of what I'm sharing here. And we will show other things, other scale models in relationship to the ark. And since we live on an island in the Puget Sound, we're often detained on the ferry because there's a railway crossing right there, and freight trains go all the way there. Every day, many freight trains passed. And it's usually container cars that come off the ships in Tacoma and Seattle, and then they come down along the Puget Sound. And sometimes I count the cars just for fun. And so many people are familiar with these types of cargo containers. I calculated that the art could have held as many as 600 of these containers. And so that's just another way that we can relate to the enormous size and capacity of the ark. So plenty of room for all the animals, plenty of room for the food, plenty of room for the people for a year, as we'll we'll see here in a little bit. And, yes, even dinosaurs were on the ark. Alright? I wrote about that as a 25 year old in this book, What Really Happened to the Dinosaurs, not in print anymore. Get a collector copy if you can. But that was a lot of that was a fun project. But, yeah, the the some of the dinosaurs, of course, grew to be taller than Noah's Ark, over 50 feet. Right? Sixty, seventy feet with enormous necks and tails. How could those possibly go on the ark? Well, the answer the obvious answer is they came on as juveniles. Right? So baby T. Rexes, baby stegosaurs, baby Parasaurolophuses. Pick your favorite dinosaur, and it was on the ark as a juvenile because God brought them to Noah. Noah didn't have to go round them up as we see in in chapter seven Genesis chapter seven. God brought them to him, two of every kind, seven of the clean, and then God also closed the door. Right? So that's a fascinating spiritual picture there as the ark is a type of Christ. And once we're sealed in Christ, then we're safe from calamity. We're safe from destruction, aren't we? And so what a beautiful, beautiful picture that is. So let's go to our next slide, and we'll talk about the length of the flood. Forty days and forty nights. Right? That's all. Yeah. It's just the rain. It's just a just a little a little light rain and and a a little fishing vessel. No, I'm joking. Once you realize the enormity of the flood, the enormity of the water, you have to explain where the water came from. And the flood actually lasted over a year. Okay? So if you're able to look at this slide, and if you're not, turn to Genesis chapter seven. Chapter seven, we'll look at some of these verses here. We've seen verse one, four, and 10 about loading the ark. Noah, his wife, and their three sons, their sons' wives, of course, and representatives or kinds of all of the air breathing animals enter the ark. And so, of course, God had commanded Noah to bring take the to receive the animals, but it was actually the Lord that brought the animals to him. So there's a supernatural element there that I'm sure Noah and his sons and their wives were all grateful for. They didn't have to go round up all of these creatures. And in verse eleven and thirteen, of course, the humans enter the ark for the last time. And then on this single day, all the fountains of the great deep burst open and the rain begins. So, again, we've got a giant poster of a page that's in the book that shows the globe of the earth almost splitting apart as the fountains shoot out into space. They split the rachea, and the Bible says the windows of heaven were opened. So the windows of heaven were opened from below. The fountains came first. They shot up. They they they escaped Earth's gravity and resulted in comets forming and asteroids forming. And as we'll see later, a lot of these are orbiting the sun are destined to return to Earth. And so we know they had an origin from Earth. Okay. And so the the fountains of the great deep burst open, and we'll see here in another slide soon more about the ocean trenches that were formed and the great mid oceanic rift that is actually a scar that circles the globe 46,000 miles. Here's a flat representation, but if you can get a dimensional globe that shows the Earth, the oceans in relief, it's fascinating to see. Okay. So the rain falls upon the earth. The arks lifted above the earth. The waters increased greatly upon the earth. Verse nineteen and twenty four, the waters prevail, okay, with mighty power upon the earth. So the initial rain was forty days, but the waters continue to increase. So we're not just talking about rain from the sky. Now it hadn't rained on the earth before, as you recall, but the rather the earth was watered with a mist from the ground. This mist was the result of the waters that were below the crust with tidal pumping forces heating the water to supercritical as as hard as 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit. Right? So we had a warm mist then as the subterranean waters would water the earth. Great way to grow a garden. Right? Hydroponics is a is a fascinating way to grow plants today. So there were forty days of rain. This rain, as we'll see here in a little bit, came as a result of the fountain shooting up, and then much of that rain would have come back down in in the form of rain and in the form of ice and snow. Okay? And it would have been very, very cold as we'll see here shortly. It takes if you if you shoot a fluid at great pressure and great speed, you get a very cooling temperature very, very quick. Okay. So then for a hundred and fifty days, five months, if if you recognize that there were thirty day months in the beginning. So for five months, the waters prevailed. They rose with mighty power upon the earth in verse 19 and verse 24, and they eventually cover all of the earth's preflood mountains. And so this is a hundred and ten days after the forty days of initial rain. And so where did this water come from? Well, it didn't come from the rain. It didn't come from the sky. It had to come from the Earth's crust. It had to come from under the subterranean chamber called the Fountains Of The Great Deep. And so as this because the Earth ruptured, if you recall on the video that we saw of Walt Brown introducing the theory, and it shot up with great force. The earth cracked. It split. And so much of it came down in the form of rain for forty days and forty nights. And then imagine, if you will, a garden hose filling a great big cattle trough or a bathtub or what have you, some large container, a swimming pool. Take a imagine you're filling your empty swimming pool with a fire hose from the bottom up. And so when you crank open that fire hydrant, what are you gonna get? Fountains shooting up way up in the sky. And then as that's falling back down and spilling into the empty swimming pool, what happens? The water rises. It rises. What happens to the fountain? It gets eventually gets choked off. And pretty soon as the fountain as the water rises up to a level, you don't have a fountain anymore. You still have strong gushing forces causing the water to rise, but it no longer shoots above. And so that's why the rain stopped, but the waters continued to prevail for a hundred fifty days. Okay. And so, again, that is just a concept that most people miss because they they read it through the account, and they don't have the concept. They're not thinking of the greatness of the cataclysm or the source of the water. But once you see the source of the water, then it makes perfect sense. Your eyes are opened as it were, and you can't unsee it. All of a sudden, the features of the globe that we see today make sense in light of the hydroplate theory. Okay. Well and we'll talk about plate tectonics and the hydroplate theory in a in a bit here. So then we see chapter eight then. Just if you wanna flip over there, we're we're seeing the the flood subsiding. Alright? We see a wind passing over the earth, and this is a very strong wind. The waters begin to subside. The fountains of the deep and floodgates of the sky close. The rain is restricted, and the ark rests upon the Mountains Of Arat, and the water steadily recedes. So a couple of things here. The wind is an interesting feature. You know, we might think of it initially as a supernatural wind. But Walt proposes an interesting theory about the wind, and I think it's it's not only entirely plausible. I think it's quite likely that his theory is correct because when the mountains slid away, the plates the height the the mountains, the crust of the earth slid away from the buckling of the Mid Oceanic Ridge, these mountains slid away. And we'll see in here in a few slides, they would eventually slide away at fifty, sixty miles per hour, you know, fast as a speeding car or a freight train. And then imagine a freight train with many cars hitting a brick wall, hitting a solid object, and it would buckle. Right? It would crumple and buckle, and you have the buckling of the mountains and the formation of the mountain ranges. So but the raising of those mountains would create enormous wind currents, enormous wind currents. And so that's a possible source of the strong wind. And, of course, after two hundred and twenty four days after the fountains erupted, verse eight or excuse me, verse five of chapter eight, the tops of the mountains become visible. So it means Noah saw at least two peaks to say mountains, plural. And then, of course, verse seven, he sends out a raven, which is a scavenger, so it may not have returned. And then he later sends out a dove, a non scavenger. It returns because it's it didn't find you know, the raven probably found carcasses to to enjoy or something, but the dove, of course, is not. And so it returned to Noah, and then he releases it later, and it returns with an olive leaf. Another beautiful spiritual picture if you understand the the symbolism of the olive leaf and the olive tree. So it's possible that Noah did this seven days apart again as a pattern. And then the third time that he releases the dove, it doesn't return in verses 13, excuse me, verse 12. And then in thirteen and fourteen of chapter eight, we see, again, the Bible is very specific. I didn't detail this earlier, but notice that it tells you what month and what day in verse 13. Now it came about in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month. So you get the idea that this is a historical record, don't you? This isn't just an oral tradition. This isn't just collected mythology. This is a literal historic record. And so that's and again, in verse 14, on the second month, on the twenty seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. Then God spoke to Noah saying, go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons' wives with you. Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth that they may breed abundantly on the earth and be fruitful and multiply on the earth. And so can you imagine coming off of the ark and not having seen the land you know, knowing the land before and then seeing the destruction and devastation after, rocks and mud and dirt almost devoid of vegetation. Obviously, there were some things that were beginning to to grow. What a shock that would have been. What a shock that would have been. So let's go to the next slide. And we talked about this last time, but this, again, is taking a look at the ancient Hebrew understanding of Raqiya and the firmament of the sky. You can see that they have the the the a dome over the sky, almost brick like with some windows in it or floodgates, they're calling them, and then waters above the firmament. Of course, that is a false understanding of of the cosmology, but this is what they actually did believe because they didn't understand Raqqaea as describing the Earth's crust with waters above and waters below. So, unfortunately, this has become much mocked as part of the flat earth theory. So, sadly, in the next slide, we see that a modern interpretation of this illustration finds its way into modern bible study materials. This is a faith life study bible infographics published by Logos Bible Software. And so it's not necessarily showing how the earth exists today and how the the sky and the waters exist today, but it is depicting the ancient Hebrew conception of the universe. But, of course, it doesn't explain Raqiya. It doesn't explain that the earth was a a stretched out or hammered out crust with waters below and waters above because they don't have that explanation. Only the hydroplate theory has, I believe, accurately explained the end with a correct understanding of the terms. So here we have an example of modern bible software perpetuating this myth. And so we've gotta dismantle this myth, don't we? We have to dismantle it. And the next slide here. Again, this is a simplified black and white drawing, but you see heaven, the realm of God, and then waters below above, and then a firmament, and then the sun, moon, and stars are somehow below this firmament. And then you've got the earth and the underworld and the waters below. So this is from a recent article, December 2010. And this is a blog post, and it's a professing Christian describing how he read three excellent articles by Paul h Sealy, who is attempting to interpret the firmament and the waters above and part one and part two. And then another work titled the geographical meaning of earth and sea in Genesis one verse 10 from the Westminster Theological Journal. So he says, quote, Seeley comes from a reformed evangelical background, but in these articles, he is reacting against creation science attempts to read modern scientific cosmology from the Bible. Right? So just break that apart for a minute. The he's applauding, praising a writer for coming against and disproving modern creation science attempts to develop a modern scientific cosmology from the Bible. So in other words, he says it's not possible to understand scripture in light of what we know today. Patently false. He goes on to say, quote, he demonstrates convincingly that the biblical authors presupposed an ancient cosmology, not a modern one. So here we have a professing believer who's a skeptic. Right? Almost an agnostic, if you will. And so he says, quote, Seeley's goal is to read the cosmology of Genesis one in its ancient historical context. The trouble is he doesn't go back far enough. Right? He doesn't go back to the original author of of scripture to understand. He just goes back to later scholars who misunderstood and even mistranslated in a form the concept of raqiya. But if you understand that that there's one below and there's one below above, it all makes sense. So this is just an example of how the mythology extends into the present day and people mock and scorn and deride God's word and say that it's not a true account. So, again, it matters, doesn't it? It really does matter what people believe. And so if they understand God's word accurately as we're demonstrating, it can be trusted. It's authoritative. It's sufficient. And though it's not a science textbook, science only supports it. True science only supports the scriptures. It doesn't contradict it. Okay. Here again, the next slide, we see this is a real cross or it's an it's an artist conception of a cross section of the preflood Earth. It's not to scale, but you can see it's got a mantle. It's got a preflood sea. It has mountain ranges. The mountain the mountains in the preflood terrain, doctor Brown estimates to be no more than a mile high. So there was undulating terrain. There were seas around the globe at the time, but they were much smaller. There were not great oceans as we have today. I had a discussion with a brother before, and I don't know if you can see the chart below. We'll come to another depiction of the chart. So we don't have, obviously, an accurate representation of what the Earth looked like because it's perished. It was overflowed with water, and it perished. But it makes sense if you understand the hydroplate theory. Today, the Earth is about 75% water on the surface, 25% land Prior to the flood, prior to the eruption of the fountains of the great deep, it was probably inverse. There was probably closer to 75, even 80% land, all interconnected with seas of about 25%, and, of course, rivers as well. So there are more technical details about this crust, but you can see how we talked about the the creation period from day two and day three where the earth took time to then touch the metal and the dry land appeared. Right? So we had the formation of these pillars where the earth's crust sunk down and then waters above and waters below formed. So fascinating when you look at this illustration, it begins to make sense. And here, doctor Brown has more details about the granite and how the minerals began to dissolve. Supercritical water, which, again, is a fourth state of matter. You've got solid liquid gas, supercritical, kind of a plasma, properties of both liquid and gas, but very, very hot and very, very, very fast acting and erosive, very corrosive and erosive. So it actually ate away and turned the granite into kind of a sponge like material. It's fascinating that in the Soviet Union, modern scientists over there have drilled as deep as seven or eight miles into the crust. And how they did that, I'm not quite sure. I don't think they used an iron bit, probably a a hydraulic bit. But in any event, what did they find down at that depth? But hot, salty water with crumbled granite in its midst. Isn't that something? Where do you think that came from? It's evidence of the the flood and the existence of subterranean water, which shouldn't be at those depths. So let's go on to here's that slide, the next slide. This is a page, and again, an illustration that I worked on. I didn't develop this in its entirety, but enhanced it, added added some features to it, including the impacts on the moon. So here we see fountains of the great deep erupting or exploding around the globe, which Walt says happened in a matter of hours, probably traveling at three miles a second. And as the flood began, this is what it may have looked like if you're observing it from space. That looks pretty impressive, doesn't it? Not quite a Hollywood special effect, but you can imagine you can get an an impression for the the power and the force and the volume of water and rock being expelled and, of course, some biological material along with it. Right? And so that's why Walt Brown predicted and has been found. There's water on the moon. There's water on the on Mars and evidence of great flooding on both of these spheres in the past. Well, the obvious answer for that is, if you understand the fountains of the great deep, is as this material was ejected with such great force, it struck the surface of Mars and the moon. And in the case of the moon, on the near side, it's pockmarked with enormous craters, isn't it? The far side, not so much because it was protected from the direct impact, but material would have swung around lighter material and still made some crater impacts on the back. Now there's there's this fascinating thing called a mass con. It is just a a massive condensation of a material that sunk into the moon. So it was ejected into the moon with such force that it kind of buried itself. So it added to the moon's mass so that it caused the moon to actually roll on its on its axis. The Earth also rolled, as Walt explains in his book. It's hard to wrap your head around at first, But imagine how smooth the original Earth was by comparison with mountains that kind of gently undulated, maybe a mile in height at most. And so all of a sudden, you've got sliding continents racing at 60 miles per hour, crumpling into each other, lifting mountain ranges, which parallel these mid oceanic ridges. And so we'll come to the jig the apparent jigsaw fit of the comments isn't quite as perfect as many would presume. So at any rate, as the mountains slammed into each other and rose up, they caused an imbalance in the globe, in the spinning globe. So again, this kind of illustrates the earth's not flat. So what happens when you've got a you're trying to balance a you know, say it's a bowling ball, all and of a sudden the bowling ball sprouts extra weight on one side, it's gonna change its its axis, isn't it? It's gonna rotate. It's going to shift. And so that happened both on the Earth and on the moon. And that can be demonstrated. So this isn't speculation. This is scientifically observable. It's just a mystery to to you, to scientists, unless you understand the hydroplate theory. And so Walt's got an entire chapter or section in the book on the origin of comets, the origin of meters. So we're just touching on that just to whet your appetite. But, wow, it's it's a fascinating, fascinating topic. Alright. Let's take a look here next slide on the continental contortion or continental slide. I was trying to be clever with the words there. Because on the left side, we see the continental fit as proposed by a scientist named Bullard. Right? And some of you may recall this from your school textbooks. It's kind of a jigsaw puzzle of how Africa fits with South America, tucks up in and around Florida, and then you've got Europe kind of smashed and slammed up there as well. But as Walt says here, there are at least five distortions in this popular explanation of how the continents once fit together. Okay? First, he says Africa was shrunk in area by 35%. Do you think that's fair? You have to shrink Africa in order to get it to fit in the jigsaw. Try that with your 500 piece jigsaw puzzle or your thousand piece jigsaw puzzle. It's not gonna work. Second, Central America Central America, Southern Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands were removed. How convenient. That piece doesn't fit. Toss that one out. Okay? Gotta make the theory look good. Third, Australia is ignored because it its fit anywhere is problematic. And where's Asia? Fascinating. Fourth, a slice was made through the Mediterranean, and Europe was rotated counterclockwise, and Africa was rotated clockwise. Does any of that make sense? No. And yet this is proposed by scientists and published in textbooks. It's just a theory, obviously. They're not saying that this was, but this concept of Pangaea still exists today. It's part of the the continental drift idea or the spreading seafloor idea, which we'll see is problematic. And he says, finally, North And South America were rotated relative to each other. So this is just not plausible. And again, the black areas in this diagram are overlapping and the the white areas are missing. So someone monkeys with it considerably to make that fit. On the right side, you see in the top right, these are actual molds or or models made by Walt over the top of a globe. He took a globe, and he fashioned these to fit and tried to slide them together in three dimensions to get a better picture. And they don't fit. So the Ballard idea is is proven false. Then on the globe below, you can see how the pieces of the continents do fit the Mid Atlantic Ridge or the Midoceanic Ridge. See how they're roughly parallel? You can see how the erosion of the Fountains Of The Great Deep would have considerably eroded the edges of the continent. And then as these slid away and buckled and crumpled, the mountain ranges are roughly parallel to the the path of the Fountains Of The Great Deep. So it makes sense. Again, if again, supporting the hydroplate theory. So in this next slide, you'll see a picture really of this same map in two dimensions. This is a map that shows the continental margins of each continent. And then we don't see it in detail here while it's talking about the continental slope. So there's there is a we've we've heard about the the continental shelves and the continental slope. That's a characteristic of continents all around the earth. And so as we'll come to, there's a the only plausible the only reasonable explanation is the hydro plate theory for the shape and the the features of the continents. And Walt goes on to describe how the continental excuse me, the the the mid oceanic ridge intersects over here in the Indian Ocean. And so he just explains that tells us approximately where the tear or the gash or the of the fountains originated. And as it raced around the globe in two directions, it met here roughly in the Indian Ocean. So very, very fascinating. Very, very fascinating information. Okay. So now I wanna go to the next slide. We're just touching on some of these subjects. So I encourage you to take some of these resources. You can get some of them online. Local folks are welcome to borrow these resources. And, of course, I'll be updating you on when Walt's material new material is available. But this is a book, Tectonic Globalone, written by n Christian Smoot. Let me tell you who this gentleman is. Smoot worked with the ocean serve survey program, which was a US naval oceanic oceanographic office from 1966, 1975, and 1977 to '98. So he rose to the position of senior scientist within the ocean survey program of the government, of the military. He spent 10 cruises in the Mediterranean, 25 in the North Pacific, and 32 in the Atlantic collecting water body samples, magnetic and gravity information, and multibeam sonar bathymetry. That just means a three-dimensional perspective of the ocean floor, bathymetry. In house, he compiled the bathymetry data into a variety of charts for the submarine fleet. So this was highly important because, you know, if if you know anything about naval warfare, technology, submarines, we're here in Bremerton, so a lot of folks here are connected to the navy and the submarine fleet. But you have if if you're gonna go hiding in ocean trenches, you better know where they are, you better know how deep they are, and you better know where the corners and crevices are. Right? Hunt for Red October gives you just an inkling of of that. So as an ancillary chore, he dealt with outsiders when they were able to gain access to their data, and he had coauthored and attended many conferences on this topic. So he's retired, obviously, and he wrote this book. And I'll just read the back jacket description, and you'll get an idea of his perspective. So I just read that to tell you he's eminently qualified, probably more than most people on the planet to talk about this subject. And he says, this manuscript concerns the current state of marine science in America because the plate tectonic hypothesis was formulated before virtually anything was known about the ocean floor. Okay? So the theories about continental drift, alleged seafloor spreading, they hadn't even mapped out the ocean floor when they developed these theories, and yet these theories are still in place today. So he says, before virtually anything was known about the ocean floor, so here, I examine in the book the bathymetry, satellite altimetry, earthquake seismology, and rock ages collected since the time for the Atlantic, the Indian, and Pacific basins. Analyzing that data reveals that geodynamics and the timing of actual events in the ocean basins is poorly understood or misrepresented. Megatrends transect all basins, incorporate all of the ocean floor feature types, and are 10 times older than previously listed. The and so he says, these intersecting megatrends refute the concept of sea floor spreading and therefore tectonic plates and continental drift. Impossible, says this research scientist. So if you want details, you can get that book or, again, Walt Brown has the creationist perspective in his book. Next slide will show you just an idea of how this Mid Atlantic Ridge popped up. This is birth of the Mid Atlantic Ridge and the ultimate slippery slope. So ice is slick. Right? Especially if one is on ice skates because as long as ice is directly under the great pressure of the metal blades, you're not actually skating on ice. You're skating on water. Did you know that? As the blades contact under that pressure, the ice turns to water and it's lubrication. It's better than ball bearings. And so that's the picture of how the continents can slide across as the as the crust is lifted up. Okay. And so we'll just go to the next slide. What caused the mountains to buckle horizontally? Well, we talked about that. This is the the continents spreading away from the uplift in the ocean and then crashing into each other and buckling with great force. So we see pictures like this. This particular mountain is in Canada, British Columbia, and it's one of the best pictures I've seen of a buckled mountain. It just likes looks like m's and w's. Right? And like Charlie Brown's sweatshirt. Zigzags. Now the fascinating thing is when you see buckled formations like this, and these are all over the globe, by the way, maybe not as grand as this example. But try bending rock into those shapes. Can that be done without cracking, without crumbling, without breaking? So here we have an entire mountain that had had to have been formed when it was soft, and it had to have been compressed laterally or horizontally. This was not uplift as modern geologists say. This was lateral compression, horizontal compression. Can't be explained by any other theory except Wall Brown's hydroplate theory. So and here in the next picture, we see a whole page of various mountains around the world. Very beautiful. We love seeing the the tall mountains with snowy peaks and the glaciers. But these didn't exist preflood. These exist today, and we find them beautiful, and they are. But it's really a monument to catastrophe. Just as the Grand Canyon is beautiful, it's awe inspiring, we could just stand and gaze at it for hours, and yet it's also a monument to catastrophe, to the world that was that perished. It's a it's a picture of the flood. And that does bring us to the next slide and what doctor Walt Brown in 1986 and '87 researched and named Grand Lake. Grand Lake. So in the small white inset and for those of you that are here, we'll have these posters out on the table so you can look at them in more detail. In the 4 Corners area, so this really covers parts of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. Right? And so it's it's a large area. Grand Lake here at the top middle held the water of of roughly double the water of Lake Michigan. Lots and lots of water. And Hopi Lake, which is down below, was previously discovered. And I say discovered because it was just plotted. It was calculated at at a certain elevation. And there's evidence that both of these lakes, as Walt convincingly describes, broke through. And he even describes the the the timing, the location of the of the breached dam. So these imagine a great lake like your favorite reservoir, you know, where it's Lake Havasu or over here in Washington, we've got anywhere there's a great amount of body water behind a man made dam, a concrete dam. Well, after the the flood and the waters receded back into the ocean as the basins were sunk and the mountains were lifted, it would have left much water all over the continents, all over the world, right, creating enormous lakes. Some of them remain and still exist. Others, over time, hundreds of years, breached and drained out, some of them catastrophically. And this was the case with Grand Lake. So Walt describes he has a whole section devoted to the Grand Canyon. And it makes perfect sense once you see it. Again, scientists have been baffled for decades, for centuries. How did the Grand Canyon form? Well, it was a tiny little Colorado River. That's impossible for many, many reasons. The rock is solid for one reason. If you you can run a garden hose over your concrete driveway for a thousand years, and it's never gonna cut a zigzag pattern. Right? It's gonna go straight, follow the path of least resistance. And so the Colorado is what you call an entrenched meander. But Grand Lake is is now the home to most many of America's national parks in the Southwest. And at the top right of this image, you can see here's a perspective of, I believe, it's Canyonlands National Park. And it's looking in the direction of that yellow area. And far off in the distant well, I think I've got a slide. The next slide. Yep. Shows the basin that held Grand Lake. So this is spectacular scenery of the American Southwest. And if you look clear back at the distant cliff range in the in the background, that's the edge of the lake that that Walt has described as Grand Lake. So we're talking about an immense amount of water. And if you look at the cliffs and the erosion features, there's no talus. There's very little accumulation of of rock and erosion at the base of these. That tells you that water moved through here rapidly, very rapidly, and it scoured and it carried away all this soil and and sediment very quickly. Just as in Eastern Washington, we have the Dry Falls. It's Dry Falls National Park, I think. And there was a a geologist in the forties or fifties named J Harlan Bretz, and he was mocked by his contemporaries because he proposed that the channeled scab lands, as they're called, over in Eastern Washington has anybody been over there to see these features? Pretty amazing. It's worth a drive. It's not that far. Take a take a day or a couple. And a small little visitor center there, but it describes, of course, evolutionary perspective of how what water and falls that were 14 times the size of Niagara once flowed over the cliffs and created the Columbia Basin and the Channel Scablands, and that was called it came from the Missoula flood. Right? There was a post flood lake, again, covering a large section of Montana that came down and created the Columbia River Gorge and the Channel Scablands. So that's how Walt Brown describes how the Grand Canyon was formed in a matter of weeks. So it breached. He described the breach point and the location. In his book, he's got pictures of the funnel. He explains how the barbed cannings were formed, many, many other features, how the uplift was created, one of the more fascinating sections of the book. Okay. Next slide, we have just an overview of the flood phases. I don't think we're gonna get to all of the slides, but that's okay. Maybe Rick will let me come back another time. Alright. I could probably send a copy of this to anyone that's interested. Just just a few of these slides get permission. But this shows how there are different phases to the flood. So there's a rupture phase that took about two hours for the Fountains Of The Great Deep to break open in one day, the Bible says, and race around the earth very, very quickly. And those fountains continued into the flood phase. Then we also see during the flood phase, we had comets, asteroids, and that material was launched with the the the woolly mammoths would have been frozen. And then during the flood phase, we have continental shelves and slopes form, and most of the fossils and limestone were deposited. Okay? As Ken Ham loves to say, we know the flood occurred because we have billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water all over the earth. Right? All over the earth. Lots and lots of fossils. And the earth's radioactivity was produced. I believe Walt's the only scientist who develop this theory and very, very sound. He has the mathematics degree to prove it in the math in his book. So if we get to the table of human life and its decay after the flood, you'll know why. Because prior to the flood, we know God created the earth and he declared it what? To be very good. Do you think the very good earth had radiation? No. Harmful. You gotta be careful how many X rays he get and CT scans and so forth. So radiation is is unhealthy. And we all have carbon 14 in our bodies zipping around, you know, throwing off atoms and just sporadically, randomly wreaking havoc in our bodies. And and that's how over time, we're degrading. The human race as a whole is degrading. So then we have a continental drift phase. We talked about the mountain sliding away. That took about a day. So not centuries, not thousands of years, not slow creep. The mountain slid away in about a day and formed the major mountain raises ranges. And then the last phase on the on the right there is recovery phase. That continues to the present day. We still have ice, right, as a result of the flood on the poles. And you hear all kinds of concerns while the ice is melting and the oceans are rising. Well, yes, they did rise, and they are rising more slowly, but we're still recovering from the effects of the flood. And so I don't we don't but the billionaires are still buying homes on beachfront all over the world. So I don't think we have the same people that are supporting the the the propaganda that we need to be very, very afraid of melting ice. So climate change is occurring because the the flood occurred and the earth is still reaching equilibrium. That's the overarching explanation for some of the changes in the processes we see. Okay. Real quickly, I wanna mention a resource in the next slide. There are a number of other folks who have who are very knowledgeable. Brian Nickel is an a knowledgeable engineer, scientist, hydroplate researcher, and he's produced a number of videos that help explain Walt's theory and present this in a video format with a lot of sometimes animated PowerPoint. So look him up on the Internet, Heider Plate Theory, parts one through six. Part one is only about thirty minutes. You'll find it very, very informative. Okay. Real quickly in this chart, can we see a genealogy from Adam to Joseph? And this is an amazing chart. I won't take time to get all the details, but a lot of people say, well, when was the flood? When was the flood? And that is a fascinating question. Walt shows five reasons why we can date the flood to plus or minus one hundred years. And most of the information is represented here, but it's explained in the book. And on the chart that I've handed around, there's a lot of the explanation on the back of that chart, which is a laminated enlargement here. So thirty two ninety BC, plus or minus one hundred years. That's the red vertical line right there in the middle. And we date that based on the genealogies of Genesis chapter five and chapter 11. You put those together. Many other scholars have done this previously and come up with a date. That's why most creationists young earth creationists will say between six and ten thousand years. But that's still a lot of slack. That's still a lot of leeway. And one of my frustrations as a young Christian, when I went to a Christian college and went to, you know, creationist school, is I expected them to have a complete timeline of harmony harmony between secular history and creation biblical history. And it didn't exist at that time. They weren't they didn't have everything laid out. There were these conflicts. And so it always bugged me. And so through the years, more research has been done. More knowledge is now available. And I believe that a number of people have a number of things, ideas have converged to accurately date the not only the time of the flood, but the time the date of creation very, very accurately. So there are more details on that chart in Walt's book. Sadly, many even young earth creationists, many people who accept a young earth for the flood are off by at least 650 because they use the Masoretic text. There's a chart on the right, and there's text in the book that explains that. But what they end up doing is that Shem outlives, one of Noah's sons outlives several generations of his descendants because the Masoretic text is corrupted. This chart explains it, and Walt's book explains it. So if you stretch these out and you stack his descendants accurately, it turns out that the whole timeline moves back six hundred and fifty years. And so this was due to a anti Christian bias among early Jewish scholars. It's more complicated than that, but I'll leave it there. Next slide will explain why. If you go to these videos, These are eye opening videos. He doesn't get all the details right. For example, he's wrong about why pay what happened with Peleg in the day days of Peleg, the earth was divided. But look these up. Nathan h eight three is his name online. The pyramids built before the flood? And how long were the Israelites Israelites in Egypt? So those will also open your eyes to to that. On the next slide, we see why before the flood did people live for nine hundred years? Well, a fascinating chart. A lot of people speculated when I was in school proposed by the Canopy theory that it protected the earth, created a greenhouse environment, dinosaurs grew big, humans were healthy, and lived long lives because they were protected from radiation. They had a higher atmospheric pressure, more oxygen in their bodies. Unfortunately, the canopy theory collapsed because Earth would have boiled, so not very conducive to life. So what does explain the sudden decline and drop off of lifespans after the flood? Well, Walt explains it in great detail, including giving you the radio metric data and the mathematics in here of how decay works. And if you read his section on the origin of Earth's act radioactivity, it explains it. The crust fluttered During the flood, it probably undulated. So 60 miles of granite undulated, and probably the period was around thirty minutes, I think he estimates. And so when granite does that, it's gonna create electrical charges that pulse through the entire crust. Alright? Kind of like when you press on your barbecue, snap, snap, snap. You've got a a quartz crystal there, kind of piezoelectric quartz, and it creates a spark. So there we had literally had lightning coursing through the Earth's 60 mile thick crust doing all kinds of bizarre havoc with the molecules and the atoms that were in the Earth's crust producing heavy elements and light elements that we have today. So fascinating discussion. Again, Bing hits it on the nail. Nothing else makes sense once you see that. The next slide is also worth viewing in terms of understanding the timeline of history, how the Exodus fits into the biblical timeline. This is called patterns of evidence exodus. Now this company puts out other biblical videos, some of them good, some of them not so good. This one I've seen and is is largely very helpful. The other materials are helpful too. Just just be be aware you need to test all things. I don't think he has everything nailed down, but this will help you understand the timing of the exodus and put that in perspective. Real quickly, gonna discuss Peleg because that's key. This is the earth after the flood before Peleg. You can see all the brown areas or the continents because the ocean, as Walt describes in in his book, was at least three miles shallower than it is today. Okay? So if you take if you drain the earth if excuse me. If you drain the oceans three miles, you're gonna see a lot of land exposed. And so this is a very likely, very closer to what the earth looked like after the flood before Peleg. And then over the course of hundreds of years, the next slide shows after Peleg. Okay? Look at all the land bridges. They just disappeared. So virtually all the continents were connected before Peleg and then after Peleg. So a lot of people say there that Peleg, the land excuse me. A lot of people say that the earth was divided after the flood at the Tower Of Babel, that the languages were confused. That's true. Okay? But Peleg and Nimrod were generations apart. So that wasn't the same event. Plus, the scriptures say that the earth was divided, not languages. The earth was divided. And so we can see how there would have been migration possible all over the globe after the flood, and then people groups get cut off once the waters rose. And, again, we have all kinds of ancient accounts by native peoples all over the globe of how the oceans rose and how the continents allegedly sank. So, again, corroboration corroboration for this hydroplate theory and the explanation for the flood that Chris created all of the features we see today. So real quickly, as we close, resources that you'll want to turn to for more information. We have the Walt's organization, the Center for Scientific Creation. Walt is transitioning. His new book is being picked up by family members, and so we're gonna be proud to bring that to press here real quickly. But you can still access the full line book online book at his website. Just be aware that there's gonna be changes and developments as in this transition. And next slide, we have hydroplate.org, I believe, is the address. So it contains many, many you'll just pages and pages of videos, resources, news articles, a blog. And so I encourage you to go there for more information. And, again, this is all supporting the in the final slide tonight. The hydroplate theory is expounded by Walt Brown in his ninth edition of In the Beginning, Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood. And I wanna thank you so very much for the opportunity to share all this with you. And love you and love pastor Rick, love Calvary Chapel, Birmingham, love all of you online, and we just serve an amazing God. And so, father, we thank you for this evening where we've got to just skin the tips of the iceberg, Lord, of some of these truths or the marvelous world that you've created and the processes that you've ordained, God. You were sovereign overall, and we see how that science and history fit together with scripture and prove that it is true. Of course, we know it's true. We accept it. We receive it by faith, but it's not a blind faith, Lord. You've created us with the ability to reason, the ability to explore. It's the glory of God to conceal a matter. It's the glory of kings to search it out. And so, Lord, I believe you have throughout history, we've seen great Christian men, the founding fathers of modern science, were often believing men who accepted the literal literal account of Genesis. And now, Lord, in our lifetime, we have other men who have taken up this mantle, Lord, to to decipher the things that we see and interpret them within a biblical framework. And so we thank you for doctor Walt Brown and the amazing ministry that you've given him and the amazing material, Lord, that you've been through his experience and his skills and his diligence to study your word and to study the natural world, God, that he you've enabled him to put this together in a way that makes sense, in a way that we can say, hallelujah. We have answers to perplexing questions that have mystified sinus for decades and even centuries. And, Lord, they've they've been hiding in plain sight. And so this very simple principle of the waters below the crust that shot out as fountains of the great deep is the key to explain all of these features that we see today. And so we rejoice in that, and I just pray that each one will take up the challenge of Psalm 26 verse seven and publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all your wondrous works, God. Publish means to proclaim. And so with this information, we have the the resources, we have the inspiration, and we have the ability to go without shame, without reservation, Lord, to publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of your wondrous works. So help us to do that each and every one tonight. We ask in the name of Yeshua, our savior. Amen.
