Alright. Good evening. We're live in Bremerton. It's Monday night. Bible study for Cavalry Chapel Bremerton. My name is Mark Dinsmore. I'm, delighted to be guest teaching here while pastor Rick and his wife, Kathy, are vacationing in Southern California. So, great to be with the saints from Bremerton Bremerton Calvary Chapel, and, let's open in a word of prayer. Father God, we do love you. God, we just are so grateful tonight for your love for us, for your mercies that are new every morning. We thank you for life and health and strength, our homes and our families. We thank you for the precious gift of your son, our savior. God, we just love assembling together with the saints so much more as we see the day approaching. And, father, so we just ask that you'd bless our evening tonight of worship and praise and teaching, and, God, that your name would be glorified and lifted high. And we ask this all in the name of Yeshua, our savior. Amen. Here we go, brother. Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you, brother Rob. What a beautiful worship. What a lovely night. So glad to have the saints here and everyone online. Welcome. Welcome to this special three week edition of Calvary Brimmernon Bible study. We're gonna talk about some fascinating topics out of the book of Genesis regarding creation and the flood and the effects of that upon the earth, on the world that we see today because the world then was perished. Before we do that, I know pastor Rick sometimes goes into a little prophecy update, and I don't wanna dwell on this, but there's number of events that seem to be potentially significant. And I was just talking with a brother before our meeting about a few of these things. And, you know, it seems like we're always to be watching and waiting. Right? And we know that at some point, the other shoe will drop because we just see the signs of the times heading towards, ultimately, the the commencement of the fulfillment of prophecy of scripture. And so just a few things to be aware of. We had a US special envoy, Steve Witkoff, met with Putin in Russia, and it didn't go very well. They had a three hour meeting, and some sources say it went very badly. So I don't know exactly what that meant, but it was that very day that Russia then turned and bombed a energy facility close to the border with NATO country. And so this all has to do with the tariffs that our president is imposing upon Russian imports. And so there's there's just a lot of tug of war over tariffs and oil and energy. And, of course, it's not surprising that Russia would bomb a pipeline that where The US had involvement in supplying energy products to other nations because after all, it was The United States that bombed the Nord Stream two pipeline back in, I think it was 2022 during the Biden administration. But when Trump took office, he's the one that actually he took credit for it. He says, I did that. He can't seem to resist the temptation to draw glory to himself even for something that is a war crime and and a cause for for outright war. So on top of that, then we've got president Trump tweeting, and he's talking about tariffs. He says they're having a huge positive impact on the stock market. Is anybody feeling the positive impact of tariffs yet? It surprises me at how many folks, even good friends of mine, trust the president in what he's doing to make America great again even to the point of supporting these tariffs. And the the reality is that the countries aren't paying billions and billions of dollars as it is claimed to put money into the coffers of The United States because the importers have to pay the tariff and then they pass the price increases onto you and me, the consumers. So ultimately, this is just another form of taxation driving more workers out of business. We actually have a neighbor who's been producing pet products, dog collars and leashes and such for seventeen years for a regional pet store, and he's now out of business because of the the tariffs, that are have doubled the cost of his raw raw materials. So that's just one example. And then so this has all been happening in the last week or so, beating August 6, August 8. And then on August 11, Trump activated the National Guard and federalized police in Washington. So, again, we don't know what this means. The sensible purpose is just to clean up the city. Right? Just to just to make it, pure and pretty again because it is our nation's capital. But every city in America is overrun now with drugs and crime and and homeless people squatting in the streets. And so it's not just DC that has become a cesspool, but it's it's many, many cities across the country. So what stops the president from federalizing police in each of these cities to restore order? So my perspective is this is either a test case or it is a possible harbinger of things that are coming down the pike pertaining to pertaining to these trade wars and these these tariff wars. And the because the tweet from Trump was a little ominous, he said, if a radical left court ruled against us at this late date in an attempt to bring down or disturb the largest amount of money, wealth creation and influence in The US has ever seen, it would be impossible to recover or pay back these massive sums of money. It would be 1929 all over again, A great depression, all caps. And then later on in the tweet, he says, repeats again that this would he refers to another 1929 style jeopardy. And so these statements are alarming, you know, for a couple of reasons. They come from the president of The United States. And, of course, we know that that most that that city presidents today are, selected, not elected, and that's not a conspiracy theory. That is simply, the truth. And we have other presidents who are on the record as saying such. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in a letter from 1933 said, the real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson. And so, again, it shouldn't be a surprise that playbooks are given to the people who are the figureheads for our country, but they aren't the the brains behind the operation even though they may take credit for that for these decisions. And then we also have president Theodore Roosevelt. In 1912, he wrote he said, behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government to befoul this unholy alliance between corrupt business, right, and corrupt politics, there's nothing new under the sun, is the first task of statesmanship. So where are the statesmen today? Where are these god honoring statesmen? So, you know, we all know what happened to JFK when he ran afoul of the agencies who he threatened to dismantle. And Eisenhower also warned of the vast power of the military industrial complex, but he wisely did so as in his farewell speech. Right? He didn't he was smart enough not to encounter the wrath of those whom he served while he was in office. So, again, this is just an encouragement to be not deceived. Don't be dismayed. Don't be discouraged. Jesus said, lo, I'm with you even till the end of the age. So we see the end of the age approaching. It's winding down. Scripture says, Psalm one eighteen verses eight and nine, it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. Amen? So that's just a little update. Again, we don't know when the other shoe will drop, but it's not a matter of if, it's when. Right? So be prayed up. And, obviously, we can't pray prepare for every eventuality. We've gotta be ready, first of all, spiritually. We've gotta be ready emotionally. And lastly, we we can do what we can to be prepared physically, but ultimately, we trust God to be our deliverer as he has promised to do. So tonight, we're gonna be discussing dismantling myths about creation and the flood. Right? So as Vicky's podcast is called Be Not Deceived, we don't wanna be deceived as so much of the world is regarding the accounts in scripture that we know and believe to be true. Right? So we need to dismantle these myths. So this is a three week series, and so we're gonna kinda divide these up tonight. We're gonna help dismantle the myths of the old earth, the gap theory myth, the evolutionary myth, the myth of progressive creation, also known as theistic evolution, and the big bang myth. So that's a lot of territory to cover. Lord willing, we'll get through most of that. And then in week two, we're gonna look a little more in-depth at the great flood itself, the events of that. We're gonna dismantle some additional myths, and those myths were are the canopy theory myth. Right? Anybody heard of the canopy theory? Right? Most of us have. If we've been in church very long, it was a foundational to the early creation science movement. So we're gonna come to that. We're gonna dismantle the plate tectonics myth, right, which not only is the mainstream narrative as far as why the earth acts and behaves the way it does when it shakes and quakes and spurts out lava periodically. But also, unfortunately, even creation organizations are deceived and in turn deceiving others with regard to plate tectonics. So we're gonna try to unpack that. We're gonna talk about the origin of comets and meteors myth. Right? Most secular scientists believe there's a place deep in outer space that produces these comets. They just appear and then enter our solar system and circle around the sun. And and, of course, that's a myth. We're gonna demolish. We're gonna dismantle that. We're gonna dismantle the great dinosaur in the fossil record myth. Alright? There's a lot of confusion still about the fossil record. And we're gonna dismantle myths about Noah's Ark. Okay? And that have relegated the account in Genesis to that of a fairy tale. It's not a fairy tale, and we can demonstrate that through what God has written and what we see today was a very real flood, a deluge, a global cataclysm, not a local flood. So then Lord willing, it's a lot to pack into week two. It'll probably spill over into week three. We're gonna talk about the origin of the Grand Canyon myth. Right? And and really, the the reality is that if you go to any national park today, any national museum, we see the lie of evolution. Right? That's a myth. We see the lie of slow, gradual, uniformitarian processes. They say that the present is the key to the past. Obviously, they haven't read the scriptures. No. We see catastrophism on a vast scale, almost an unimaginable scale, far larger than even most Christians have been aware for centuries. And so I'm excited to share some of the new discoveries about that. Alright. So before we get into the the meat of things tonight, because we have a livestream, I don't know everyone that's watching, so you might wanna know a little bit about me. I'm not an ordained minister. Alright? Though I was called by God to open a home a church in our home. I was a home church pastor for a couple of years during and after COVID. We called it Island Bible Fellowship. So it was my pleasure and privilege to serve there, and we're kind of carrying on that ministry in a little different way where I I can share about that at another time. But over the past twenty years, going on twenty five now, I've taught through a number of books of the bible verse by verse. I came to saving faith in the Lord at age nine through Vacation Bible School. Right? God bless all of you who have or been serving in that area. I received Christ at a tiny little community church on the rural Oregon Coast. I'm also a former evolutionist. Alright? And I know such as were some of you, as Paul says. Right? Granted, I was only 11 years old, but I was still an evolutionist. I was kind of the the one of the smarty pants in in the class growing up in a in a teacher's pet. And so when new scientific discoveries would come in the form of our we have these shiny new science textbooks, and that's how we knew it was full of truth and accuracy. Right? They were they smelled good. I remember the ink and the pages and the paper, and you crack open that fresh cover. Oh, it was just a just a thrill. And, of course, we were being taught about Richard Leakey and his discoveries at the time, which were relatively new about the alleged evolution of man. So when the science textbook talked about that, I just jumped at the opportunity to trust the science. Right? Why why wouldn't I? I I didn't know better. I think it was about that time that my mother who just recently passed, she's with the Lord. So we had a celebration of life for her not long ago. But it was about that time, I think she was challenged because of what I was learning in school to begin subscribing, and she was a lapsed believer herself. She was a backslidden Christian. She would have described herself. And she began subscribing to various ministries who put out publications on creation science, one of them being the Institute for Creation Research. Anybody heard of that? With founded by doctor Henry Morris. And there was another publication called the the Bible Science Newsletter. And so as a as a young believer, I think it was I was about 12 by this time. She encouraged me to to write a send in an article for a writing contest that the publication was holding. And so I did and spent quite a bit of time on it and sent it off. And lo and behold, it was seemed like a month seemed or two months later, got a letter back. And congratulations. You're being published. You've won second prize. We're sorry that your article was over the word limit. So nothing much has changed. I'm still over the word limit, as some of you know. I'll only be here till about midnight. Yeah. So all that to say is I'm I'm not a scientist. I'm not a theologian. I'm just a writer, researcher. I'm an aggregator of information. Right? So what I know is the result of working with and studying under some very godly men, some some trusted biblical thinkers. Right? So I love apologetics. I love archaeology. I love creation science because these fields build up our faith, don't they? Because as believers in Christ, we have the scriptures, and so we don't have to be afraid that new information is ever gonna contract contradict the word of God. It's only going to demonstrate its authenticity, its veracity, its historicity. So that's why I love the the topic that we're talking about tonight. So I graduated from Christian Heritage College. It's now called San Diego Christian College. And my degree is in business. I almost minored in Bible. Wish that I had. But the school was founded by a couple of men you may have heard of. Tim Lahey was one, and Henry Morris was another. Of course, he was the founder of ICR. And professionally, I've been involved with Christian publishing for, oh goodness, going on forty years. That's a little scary. For several different companies, my first experience was working for Master Books, which is, at the time, it was the publishing arm kind of spun off of the Institute for Creation Research. And the neat thing about going to school where I did and going to work where I did is I actually got to rub shoulders with some of the the the creation scholars at the time that were on staff at ICR. And so I got to attend debates, seminars, brown bag lunches with a lot of these men. And also during my time in San Diego, which was a little too short, I I did help design and publish a number of creation resources that were very popular in the homeschool movement, which was just taking off at that time. One of the books was called Noah's Ark in the Lost World. So and and then I was privileged to write a book targeting children called What Really Happened to the Dinosaurs. And so when we get to the flood next week, I'll see if I can dig up some samples, but they're they're probably fossilized by now. Alright. That's enough about me. Let's ask God's blessing upon our study and get into our text. Father God, we do love you so much. We thank you that you are our creator, Lord, and savior. And, father, we thank you that from Genesis to Revelation, we can trust each and every word that you have written and spoken through the prophets and the apostles by your Holy Spirit. We thank you, Lord, that we can trust them. We ask God that you would open up our understanding to know and to have confidence in our salvation, and we thank you for these things in Christ's precious name. Amen. Alright. So let's go ahead and turn to Genesis in chapter one. And just so that we can familiarize ourself with the text, I don't know if there's a way we can read around the room, several verses a piece, or if I should narrate it, what would you like me to do, Rob? Yeah. We can read around the room. Okay. So we're looking at 31 verses and then the fur the the three verses of chapter two, So 34 verses. And I don't know how many folks we have here tonight, but take three or four, five verses, and we'll we'll read around the room beginning with Genesis one and concluding with chapter two verse three. In the beginning. In the beginning. God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light, and there was light, dividing the light from the darkness. And God called the day the light day, and the darkness he called night, and the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, let there be firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament, and it was so. And God called the firmament heaven, and the evening and the morning were the second day. Okay. I can I can read? First name. And God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together place, and let the dry land appear, and it was so. And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering together of the waters called he seas. And God saw that it was good. And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, whose seed is in it in itself upon the earth, and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit whose seed was in itself after his kind. And God saw that it was good. Somebody pick up from thirteen? Yeah. I'll do it. And e and the evening and the morning were the third day, and God said, let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and for years. And let them be for lights in the firmament of of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and it was so. And God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness. And god saw that it was good. In the evening and the morning were the fourth day. Verse 20. I'll do it. And God said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind, and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them saying, be fruitful and multiply. Fill the waters of the seas, and let the fowl multiply in the earth. And evening and morning were the fifth day. Verse 24. I'll get it. Then God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind, cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind, and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind, and God saw that it was good. Then God said, let us make man in our own image according to our likeness. Let them have domination over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image. In the image of God, he created him. Male and female, he created him. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the and subdue it. Have dominion over have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over everything that moves on the Verse 29. Someone? Anyone? 29? And God said, behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree that which is the fruit of the tree, excuse me, and in which the fruit of the tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for meat. And every beast of the earth and every fowl of the air and everything that creepeth upon the earth, therein there is life. I have given every green herb for meat and it was so. And God said saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. K. The first three verses of chapter two. And thus, the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the hosts of them. And on the seventh day, God entered into his work, ended his work in which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day from all of his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because that in it had he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Amen. Wow. What a fascinating account. You could literally spend a lifetime learning from this every time you read through it and discover something new, especially if you're attuned to discovery. So they can all be interpreted. You know, we have the same evidence. We see the same evidence in the world, but it's a matter of interpretation, and that is a result of our biases. Right? So if we've grown up with an evolutionary bias, we're gonna interpret things wrongly. If we've grown up with a framework of understanding creation in a literal historical sense, then we're going to see things with a different perspective that ultimately builds up our faith. So we read the first three verses of two because that's just where the account ends. Remember that the the verse divisions and chapter divisions aren't inspired. The text is inspired in the original autographs, but not how it is formatted in the book. So beginning in verse four, that is really where chapter two begins concerning the creation of Adam and Eve. Okay. Alright. As I shared, I'm going to be referencing a lot of different writers. And so I just want to say up upfront, I'm not gonna reference the individual or the organization at every paragraph because it'd be a little redundant, but, you know, I draw from folks like Chuck Missler, from Ken Ham, Henry Morris, the Institute for Creation Research, Answers in Genesis, Doctor. Walt Brown, whose book I'm privileged to be working on, it's called In the Scientific Evidence for Creation. It's encyclopedic, and we're working on the ninth edition now. We're working hard to get that back in print, and so we'll be keeping you updated on on that progress. So it's interesting that the order of creation in Genesis one contradicts the order of events in evolution in their story at least in 30 different points. One example is the Bible says the earth was created before the sun and stars, which is just the opposite of evolutionary Big Bang theory. The Bible says that fruit trees were created before any sea creatures and that birds were created before dinosaurs, which were made on day six since they're land animals, exactly the opposite. The dinosaurs were, not the birds, exactly the opposite of the evolutionist story. The Bible says the earth was covered completely with water before the dry land appeared. Right? And then it was covered again at the flood. Evolutionary theory says that the earth has never been covered with a global ocean and that dry land existed before the seas. So many, many points of contradiction, and that's not a surprise because Satan inverts everything, doesn't he? He loves to twist and invert things spiritually with false religions and mysticism and the occult, gnosticism. There's certainly an inversion of and it's just incredible to see people that are falling for these deceptions, and so we have to be aware of them. So in the Hebrew, the the first sentence of the Bible says, In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. So the Hebrew word for beginning here is. Henry Morris says this opening verse of the Bible is unique. The foundation of foundations. Alright? He's written two marvelous commentaries. I recommend them with a few caveats, but he has written the Genesis record, which is a wonderful commentary verse by verse, and then he's written the Revelation record. And and I was in college at the time where I was used many of Henry Morris's books in apologetics classes and in bible classes. And so they were formative for me in my early years, and I benefited greatly from them. So one phrase of his that stuck with me is Genesis is the foundation. If we're speaking of a building or of a structure, revelation is the capstone. Right? And it's still it's such a great picture of what God is doing. But he says, if if one who really believes, Genesis one verse one, will have no difficulty believing the rest of scripture, and that is very true. God, Elohim, is eternal existing before the universe because he's outside of his creation. He's not a part of it. We're not talking about pantheism or panentheism. Right? Pantheism is many gods, and panentheism means that God is a part of his creation. So we don't worship what God has created. We worship the creator. So therefore, nothing is impossible with God, and he alone gives meaning to everything. No attempt is made in this opening passage to prove the existence of God that was recorded in the beginning when no one doubted God. Alright. So I'm gonna give a sword drill alert. I have a few of these. I'll just give you we're gonna read two different passages. So if someone wants to volunteer for Psalm nineteen one through four. Okay. That's Psalm nineteen one through four and then Romans one verse 20. Who would like that? I'll do that. Okay. Excellent. So look for those and put your finger there. So we come to the Bible knowing there is a God. As pastor Dave Gusek explains, there are many good and strong philosophical and logical reasons to believe in God, yet the Bible does not make elaborate arguments for the existence of God. However, it does tell us how we can know God exists. The Bible tells us we can know God exists because of what we see in the created world. So let's read Psalm nineteen one through four. Heavens declared the glory of God, and the front room showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. Mhmm. Wow. Amazing. Thank you. And read, Romans one twenty. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Wow. Powerful, powerful passages. And when we read through the Psalms, we often think of them as as mere poetry oftentimes. But hidden in the Psalms, they're they're not really hidden. They're there, but it we need God to open our eyes to understand that a lot of times he's speaking true scientific truths, observable truths in these passages. They're not always just poetry because our eyes and ears are are limited. Right? But I believe when we translate it and with the Lord, we'll be able to see new colors, new spectrums, hear new sounds. That's that's speculation, but I think we're gonna be overwhelmed at many new exciting things to really that that just draws closer to the Lord and will spend eternity discovering because one of the most exciting things is to learn something new, right, or just to discover when you you go exploring, especially as children. Children know how to have fun exploring and the joy of discovery and the joy of learning. And so we're not just gonna be sitting in heaven on clouds. We're going to spend eternity worshiping the Lord, but but knowing him through his creation. And so this these are examples here of the what's called the teleological argument for the existence of God. And so teleology is the doctrine of design, if you will. If you've got a beautiful painting, Rob has some beautiful paintings around here. Right? Then you know there was a what? A painter. Right? An An artist. Absolutely. Someone who put the brush to the canvas and who was very meticulous about what they've done. So if you've got a beautiful building, you know there was a what? There was a builder. There was an architect. Right? And so if you've got a beautiful piece of music, you know there's a what? Composer. Composer. Absolutely. So someone had to think of, imagine, and then create these notes and the scores on the page. And the Lord, of course, is glorified whenever we build, whenever we create, whenever we design, whenever we sing, whenever we play an instrument, whenever we build marvelous model ships because he's given us the he's created us in his image. Right? And so we don't speak things into existence out of nothing. Only God can do that. That's called creation ex nihilo. Right? That's the Latin, and it means out of nothing. So only God can do that. But we because we're in the image of God, we take joy in creating. We take joy in designing. We take joy in writing, in singing, in building. So Dave Gulzik says it is the understanding that there must be a purse purposeful intelligence that created this world because the world shows purpose and intelligence. This argument from purpose and design remains unanswered by atheists and agnostics, and I certainly agree with that statement. It's amazing that people can look at the the beautiful blooms of a flower, the beauty the beauty of a sunset, trees, birds, wildlife, fishes, and and deny the existence of a creator. It's just as the the text said, day unto day utters speech, and night into night reveals knowledge. Okay? If it's there if we just look, and everywhere you look, we see evidence of the existence of a of a creator. So I wanna point out something beautiful about God's creation hiding in this verse 20 of Romans. Henry Morris says, the phrase things that are made is one word, poema, poema in the Greek. It's a word used elsewhere only in Ephesians two verse 10 where it says, for we are his workmanship. Right? God has written two poetic masterpieces as it were, one in the physical world, one in the physical creation, and one in the lives of men and women redeemed and saved by his grace. Both give eloquent testimony to the eternal power and godhead of the creator slash redeemer. And I thought that was a a very fitting quote. So in the beginning, god. Okay. The word god is, you know, is Elohim. And Elohim is a curious word in the Hebrew. It's it's used in a singular, but it's actually plural. It it denotes God or God little g as well as used. It's one of the most common names for God in the Old Testament. Occurs over 2,500 times in the Tanakh. That's the Hebrew Old Testament. And the basic meaning behind Elohim is one of strength or power of effect. Elohim is the infinite all powerful God. Right? He is omnipotent. He shows by his works that he is the creator, he is the sustainer, and he is the supreme judge of the world. But interestingly, the word is grammatically plural rather than singular. And what are we to make of that? Does it mean that there are multiple gods? No. The Torah makes clear God is what? Deuteronomy six four. Hear, o Israel, the Lord, our God is one Lord. Right? So sometimes the word Elohim is short shortened to el. We see that in a prefix or in a suffix throughout the scriptures. El Shaddai means God Almighty. El Elyon, God Most High. El Roy, the God who sees. And also personal names of people can be given or changed to include God as part of the name. For example, Daniel, El is my judge. Nathaniel, the gift of El, Samuel, heard by El, Elijah, El is Yahweh, and Ariel or Linus of El. We also have the house of El, which is Bethel. And we have Jezreel, which means El will sow. If you've been in the book of Revelation, you know the the special meaning behind that. Right? And, of course, Israel or prince of El are examples of this fascinating name or portion of the name for for God. I forgot to assign these, so I'm just gonna read them since we're here. John one one through three. In the beginning was the word and the word was what? It was with God and the word was was God. Verse two, the same was in the beginning with God. All things were Made. Made by him. And without him Nothing that was made. Was not anything made that was made. So that's pretty clear, isn't it? The the identity of our creator is the Lord Jesus Christ. And that's confirmed in Romans one verses 18 through 22. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. They suppress it. They squash it down. They try to stamp it out. Right? Throughout history, if you've studied the the attempts by Satan ultimately, but he's used various men through the ages to destroy the word of God, right, to and and to corrupt it as so many have unfortunately done. They have corrupted it, but we know that it is not corrupted in its original. But there have been some perversions of translations. The Message Bible is one of those by Eugene Peterson. I hope you don't rely on on that text even though it's popular to read. It's it's hard to even call it a paraphrase. It's really the words of Eugene Peterson. It's not the word of word of God. So just be aware of that. Okay. So the truth is suppressed because of the unrighteousness of men. Romans one nineteen, because that which may be known of God is manifest to them. How is it manifest? How is it made known? For God has showed it unto them. Verse 20, for the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are what? They're clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal nature, his eternal power, and godhead, so they are without excuse. There's no excuse. God has revealed himself to us. Number one, he's given us a conscience. Right? What does conscience mean? It means con. It means with. Science means knowledge. So he's given everyone in at least as they mature, the ability to know God instinctively through what has been made. And, you know, men squelch that and then they they suppress it because they love not the truth. And so in verse 21, we see that because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God. Neither were thankful but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. That's a strong rebuke, but it simply means that men love darkness. Right? And so they they suppress the truth. They reject the truth. Professing themselves to be wise, they became what? Fools. Fools. They became fools. And so that's why that has led some to proclaim April 1 is National Atheist Day. But it's sad. It's really tragic that so many with advanced degrees in science, with published books and awards and the praise of men, they have been their minds have become darkened, they've become foolish. They've become fools because they deny the existence of a creator who is blessed forever. Amen. So, of course, the apostle Paul in this passage, we know goes on to reveal that this foolishness, this self deception has led to all manner, past, present, and future, all manner of depravity, right, to sexual depravity. It's it's so prevalent today. It was prevalent in Paul's day. Right? There there was much idolatry. There was sexual immorality ramping in the streets. It's ramping in schools today. Unfortunately, homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, all being normalized. Bestiality not far behind, pedophilia, you know, from to the highest levels of government around the world around the world. Okay? In the church, out of the church, there's no segment of there's no segment of society that is not impacted. And in verse 28 of this passage, in Romans one, it says, we see this is a voluntary rebellion. And it says, even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, so they had it at one time. Right? They were born. They were given a conscience. They had the knowledge. But God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient. So that's the source of the breakdown of society and culture that we have today. Okay? It's rebellion against God. Alright. So I'm gonna ask someone to flip to Hebrews chapter one. Hebrews chapter one, and we're gonna read verses one and two, and then 10 through 12. Hebrews one one and two, ten and twelve. 10 through 12. I'll do one, one, and two. Okay. God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds. In verses ten, eleven, and 12. And thou, Lord, in the beginning has laid foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thine hands. They shall they shall perish, but thou remainest. They all shall wax odd as doth a garment, and the vesture shall thou fold upon thee. They shall be changed, but thou art the same. The years shall not and the years shall not fail. Wow. So throughout the New Testament, we have confirmation of the account of creation. Right? And we have confirmation that the Lord Jesus is our creator. And so and we also learn some things through passages like this. Right? Jesus is the heir of all things. He's the son of God. He also made the world. He laid the foundation of the earth. When we come to our study of the flood, we're gonna learn some things about the foundation of the earth. We'll we'll be reading this here shortly also. It's also fascinating that when you see that this world will have a conclusion. Right? It's it's growing old. It's gonna be rolled up as a garment. So like, it's gotta be changed. Right? The universe is gonna be made new. So let's come now to Genesis one verse two. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. So this phrase, without form and void, the Hebrew, Tohu Bohu. Right? Tohu Bohu. Tohu just means formless, confusion, emptiness, nothingness, and Bohu means emptiness, void, or waste. And so a number of commentators have tried to superimpose their their own interpretation on this and and and come up with what they call the gap theory, that the that the earth was previously made and that it was corrupted. They kind of equate this with the fall of Satan to Earth. But that there's a number of problems with this theory, and that's a one of the first myths of Genesis that we wanna dismantle. So real quickly, we will talk about the gap theory. It's the view that God created a fully functional Earth with all animals, including the dinosaurs and other creatures that we know only from the fossil record because they don't exist today. Then the theory goes something happened to destroy the earth completely, most likely the fall of Satan to Earth so that the planet became without form and void. They take this word for became, which is really kind of a mistranslation. It's simply it it doesn't mean that it was previously created very good because the very good creation hasn't come yet. But this is what they believe. At this point, God started all over again recreating the earth in its paradise form as further described in Genesis. This theory is also called old eighth creationism, gap creationism, and the ruin reconstruction theory. Anybody heard of these theories or are these phrases, ruin reconstruction theory? So it's distinct from theistic evolution or progressive evolution because they still believe in a literal six day creation. Alright? They just insert a gap between verse one and verse two of Genesis. And it's an imaginary space because there's really no scriptural evidence for what they speculate. And the reason that this became well, let's just read a brief history of this. From 1814, Thomas Chalmers popularized gap creationism. He attributed the concept to the seventeenth century Dutch Armenian theologian, Simon Episcopias. And Chalmers wrote, quote, my own opinion is published in 1814. So these deceptions, these myths have been around for a while. Is that Genesis one verse one forms no part of the first day, but refers to a period of indefinite antiquity when God created the worlds out of nothing. The commencement of the first day's work, I hold to be the moving of God's spirit upon the face of the waters. We can we can allow geology the amplest time without infringing even on the literalities of the mosaic record. So what's he saying there? Why do you think he came to promote and believe in the gap theory? Prominent. Evolution and before evolution, uniformitarianism. Right? Old earth geology. So this explains why many theologians seized upon the gap theory because they desperately wanted to harmonize the scriptures as if it needed harmonizing with the science of the day. And so in other words, they they needed to appear relevant. They needed to appear intellectual. They needed to appear in harmony with what they believe to be science when it is really science falsely so called. Right? And so in '19 so the popularity of this explanation for fossils, we will come to see that the gap theory doesn't help address the issue of fossils at all because that puts death before creation. It puts death before the the fall. But in 1954, a few years before the reemergence of young earth flood geology eclipsed gap creationism, there was an influential evangelical theologian named Bernard Ram. He wrote in the Christian view of science and scripture, quote, the gap theory has become the standard interpretation through hyper orthodoxy appearing in an endless stream of books, booklets, bible studies, and periodical articles. In fact, it has become so sacrosanct with some that to question it is equivalent to tampering with sacred scriptures or to manifest modernistic leanings, unquote. But come to find out, this fellow Ram was not criticizing the gap theory because he held to a literal literal interpretation of Genesis. Rather, he sought to enlighten believers with the latest findings of science and to reinterpret genus the Genesis account within an evolutionary framework. Alright? And so Ram's book became influential in the formation of an alternative to the gap theory called theistic evolution or so called progressive creationism. And that found favor with more conservative members of the American Scientific Affiliation, which was a fellowship of Christians who were scientists, not Christian scientists, but they were with them. And so they were favoring modernism. And that so they adopted theistic evolution and, again, tried to harmonize that account with scripture. So that's another myth that needs to be dismantled is the idea of theistic evolution. Today, unfortunately, there are numerous organizations, some very significant ones that promote and teach theistic evolution. Of course, it's it's if you're going to seminary, you're gonna get theistic evolution in most seminaries, in most Christian colleges. It's promoted by many nonprofits. One of them BioLogos, formed by Francis Collins, alright, of COVID nineteen fame. And you've got reasons to believe with Hugh Ross, another theistic evolutionist. So what they do what they say is that God used the process of evolution, right, to create everything that we see from molecules to man. As doctor Dwayne Gish of the Institute for Creation Research, when he was alive, he was a a formidable debater of evolutionist. Today, you can't get an evolutionist debate a creationist. Right? They just won't won't let you in to have that opportunity because they're they're they're weak. They've and so they keep creationists out of that altogether these days. But Duane Gish used to make a joke. He said from fish to Gish. Right? So, anyway, the primary problem with theistic evolution, progressive creation, is again that it puts the fall. That means that there's not a literal Adam and Eve. So another prominent organization that professes to be Christian is called Renovare. It was founded by Richard Foster, k, a prominent theologian and and writer from the seventies and eighties. I don't recommend his materials at all. They're full of humanism, psychology, new age teaching. But his books were on the shelves of many, many pastors, and he was widely promoted in all Christian publications. But but his organization, Renovare, which claims to renew the church, to renew Christianity, to renew our our thinking. Right? It's really part of the the liberal reinvention of of the scripture, which means they are reinterpreting it. But they're doing so in a in a scripture twisting way because Richard Foster doesn't even he's got a he's got a renovari study bible that came out when I I worked at a ministry called The Breen Call founded by Dave Hunt for almost twelve years. That was another real blessing. That was kind of a secondary development of my personal growth, a tremendous growth, and a discernment and apologetics ministry. So I I wrote about this Bible. I reviewed it, and they they teach that the first 11 chapters of Genesis are myths. It's a fable. It's been collected by the Hebrews, but it came out of pagan cultures. And the Hebrews just put their spin on it, put in Elohim and Yahweh and called it good. So that's literally what what this Christian ministry teaches and utter utter blasphemy, of course, and heresy. So these organizations are alive and well today. I'll probably produce a little handout so that you can just be aware of a few names and faces to be alert. Right? To be aware because your adversary, the devil, does what prowls about as they were in lion, seeking whom he may devour. And so be not deceived. Okay. So we can see from this that Christians have been compromising God's word for decades, even centuries on the basis of the latest so called science. Whatever the they decide is the best explanation of how the world came into existence. Alright. So the gap theory is down. There's more we could we could teach about it. Unfortunately, was promoted in otherwise even some it's been promoted by some otherwise very prominent men. So I do wanna mention that before we move on. It was advanced by the Schofield Bible, unfortunately. And that is why the theory became widely accepted even among conservative believers, conservative evangelicals. It even was accepted or believed in part or whole by, again, CI Schofield, J Vernon McGee. I was surprised to also discover that men like Chuck Missler, a theologian, bible teacher, scholar that I greatly respect. He's now with the Lord, but he also promoted the unbiblical gap theory. He was associated with the Calvary Chapel movement, and even Chuck Missler, I mentioned him, and Chuck Smith rather, also gave some nod toward the gap theory. But so clearly, isn't a salvation issue, but I simply don't see how one can hold to the gap theory when you have a literal historical grammatical approach to the book of Genesis. And there's no need to. There's no need to compromise. There you're arguing from an absence of evidence that there's an imaginary world that existed that God doesn't even mention. Right? And and then you try to shoehorn other things in there imaginary like the fall of Satan from heaven. It it it just doesn't work. It's fiction. It's fantasy. It's really fantasy. Okay. So let's it's confusion. Right? We know who the author of confusion is. So be not confused. Real quickly, just look at the word created. It's it's fascinating. And and here's a little it's not an anecdote, but it's a joke. It's an oldie but goodie. God was once approached by a scientist who said, listen, God, we've decided we don't need you anymore. These days, we can clone people. We can transplant organs, and do all sorts of things that used to be considered miraculous. God replied, don't need me, How about we put your theory to the test? Why don't we have a competition to see who can make a human being? The science degrees. So God declares that they should do it as he did in the good old days when he created Adam. Fine, said the scientist, as he bends he bent down to scoop up a handful of dirt. Woah, says God, shaking his head in disapproval. Not so fast. You get your own dirt. Yeah. Your own dirt. Again, only God can create out of nothing. Right? We can't create anything. We can only form and fashion from the material that God has already created. Alright. We also know that in the beginning, God created because this is, again, true science, true scientific laws tell us that. Take the law of causality. Right? It says that no effect can be greater than its cause. It's basic in all scientific investigation and human experience. A universe comprising an array of intelligible and complex effects, including living systems, conscious personalities is itself proof of an intelligent, complex, living, conscious person as its cause. And secondly, we've got the law of thermodynamics. Right? It's the most it's a universal and best proved generalization. It's applicable to every process and system of any kind. All you have to do is clean your house one day and then come back the next week without cleaning it. What happens? It's in disarray. So all systems tend toward decay. Right? We put in energy, and then that energy is consumed, and things wear out. Right? Our clothes wear out. Our cars wear out. Our bodies wear out. So we're all proof of the second law of thermodynamics. Every system is decaying. Okay. We're going irreversibly toward ultimate equilibrium. They call that the heat death. So the universe at some point will suffer heat death. It'll be burned up. Since this eventual death of the universe has not yet occurred, and since it will occur in time if these processes continue, the second law proves that time, and therefore, the space matter time universe had a what? Had a beginning. Right? You wind up a clock, and then that clock ticks as long as the spring has energy in it, and it causes the pendulum to move and the hands to turn. And so we know that that someone wound up the clock. Okay. So let's leave that myth where that is and go to verse three. And God said, let there be light, and there was light. God saw the light that it was good. And God divided the light from the darkness and called the light day, and the darkness called night, and the evening and the morning were the first day. So let's talk real brief briefly about the third myth we need to dismantle, and that is the day age theory. I don't wanna spend a lot of time on it. You've probably heard this before, but many people, again, want to allow for evolution because they're so convinced by National Geographic or the wonderful world of Disney or the, you know, the museums around the country and in our nation's capital that teach evolution as fact, and they they show the pictures. And sure enough, you see, you know, fish turning into birds and birds turning into dinosaurs and monkeys into man. But, again, these are are fig figments of someone's imagination. And so but they they believe that given time, any anything can happen. Alright? And so it used to be that they said, well, evolution is occurring so slowly that you can't see it. And then when it's disproved that there are no transitional forms, they say, well, evolution happens so quickly that we can't see it. So you had a a scientist by the name of Stephen j Gould who developed the hopeful monster theory. And it went something like, you know, an animal, perhaps a chicken lays an egg and out pops a lizard. Right? And so that's the hopeful monster theory. So evolutionists have resorted to all manner of silliness and foolishness, right, professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, to explain existence apart from a creator god. Can you explain transitional life forms? Sure. Transitional form is an alleged creature that goes from one kind to another. So we're gonna discuss kinds here shortly when we come to the creation of animals. But they you know, we you've heard about the missing link. Right? These an alleged human fossil is the missing link between monkeys and man. And it turns out those missing links have been hoaxes through the years. You got Piltdown Man, a forgery. You've got Java Man. You've got alleged fossils of intermediary forms between monkeys and and man that come from a pig's tooth and, you know, pieces of bone that are found miles apart, they try to assemble them together into one skeleton and put it in a museum. And and there you have a false a lie. You have a a false record that is a lie. Okay. So let's talk about this light. Let there be light. This is a little mysterious since we know that the sun, moon, and stars weren't created until day four. Right? So the properties of light are are fascinating, and they're mysterious. They're not even yet fully understood. Light exhibits the characteristics of being a wave on the electromagnetic spectrum. Right? We have invisible spectrum. We've got the ultraviolet. We've got the X-ray, and we've got the infrared. So from one end to the other, and and we have visible light. And so but it it doesn't only it it does perform as a wave in some observations. In other ways, it performs as a particle. So it appears to have some substance. Very curious. Very strange. Einstein's theory of relativity was one of the first to propose that light had nonzero mass. Nonzero mass. So in other words, it had some weight somehow. Okay? We don't understand it. But so a possible explanation to this let there be light is that create the creation of light was a thing that needed to exist before the sun, moon, and stars could even shine their light. Okay? And there have been we'll talk a little bit about the age of the earth when we come to the big bang, day four, the sun, moon, and the stars, the alleged big bang. And we're kinda that's another myth that we're gonna dismantle. So I'll save that for there. But some creationists had had proposed that at the time, since God created his the world and and the the life from the animals to the plants with the appearance of age, right, he created Adam and Eve. They were mature. He created the trees with fruit in them that was mature. He created the earth and universe mature, which would mean that he would have created the the light rays that connect these distant stars and galaxies to the earth so that we could witness them. That's a theory. The other is that at at the time of creation, the speed of light was infinite. Okay? Because we know that over time, light the speed of light has been measured. Most people use the figure of a 186,000 miles per second. Right? So it takes about eight minutes or so for light from the sun to reach Earth. But light the speed of light's decaying, and so some believe or or speculate that at the time of creation, the speed of light was infinite. That that's a possibility. And when we come to that, we'll discuss another possibility that's fascinating to consider. Okay. So Dave Kusick acknowledges. He says that the light the script the scripture show that the light is more than a physical substance. It also has a supernatural aspect. In the new heavens and new earth, as we know, there won't be any sun or moon. Why? Because God himself will be the light. Amen. And Walt Brown, another amazing creation scientist says, quote, here's what apparently happened on day one when God said, let there be light. Hours after God created the universe, but before he stretched it out, that's the key, we're gonna come to the stretching. So many quasars were near the earth that they bathed the earth in unimaginable lights, amount of light. Has there ever been an event as dramatic and brilliant that was brought forth so quickly by such few words. So that's a fascinating concept to ponder, and we're gonna talk further about that when we come to day four. What's a quasar? Quasar, and it's an enormous powerful star or star cluster. I don't know how it's defined specifically, but as Walt Brown says, it bathed the earth in unimaginable amounts of light. So we talked a little bit about the day, right, and the day age theory. So we wanna cover that before we move on. The very dominant meaning of yom in the Hebrew, that's the word for day, is a literal day, and the context of Genesis one confirms that meaning. So yom can mean an indefinite period. It's like back in the day, you know, when I was young. So it can mean an indefinite period. But when it is used with ordinal numbers, and it was the first day, and it was a second day, and it was evening, and it was morning, that can only refer to a 24 period of time. And so that pretty much refutes the day age theory right there. But again, if you read the text, it's pretty clear. Day three, we have vegetation created. Right? God spoke plants into being, and the sun didn't emerge until when? Day four. So if there's an an a thousand year period or a million year period, it's a long age of time. Your plants aren't gonna survive. They're gonna wither and die, right, without the sun. So the day age theory simply doesn't work. A lot of people try to use the the passage that says a day with the Lord is a thousand years, and a thousand years is one day. That's completely ripped out of context. And so is It's a different root word too, isn't it? Well, that's in the Greek, not in the Hebrew, but it's the it's the word for day. And there's a prophetic implication for that passage in second Peter. We've we've covered that in in our study of Revelation, but it doesn't refer to the days of creation. The days of creation are a little twenty four hour days. We've seen Exodus. Right? This was a pattern for for us to work. It says, we for as it God created created the earth and all that is in therein in six days and rested on the seventh. So we also work six days, and we rest on the seventh. That's why Saturday is the Sabbath day. It was then. It is now. It'll always be the the created day of rest. Doesn't mean we can't worship on Sunday. It's not the the mark of the beast as some cults of Christianity decry if you go to church on Sunday. That's they call that the mark of the the beast or Babylon. That's not the case. Okay. So we covered literal days, and let's talk about lights. On the first day, God said, let there be light. And so Henry Morris says, the light energy was activated first, but now great masses of material were gathered together in one of the firmaments or spaces of the cosmos, the space beyond the okay. Unfortunately, he's going to talk about a myth that creationists believe. Henry Morse is one of the men to advance the canopy theory, which has now collapsed. Right? That's what I was taught at school. And creation scientists no longer believe in or teach the canopy theory, but it kind of collapsed and then kinda got swept away. But Henry Morris says, the space beyond the water is above the space adjacent to the earth. So that's not the case. The canopy theory is is defunct and debunked. But he said these great bodies were set burning in complex chemical and nuclear reactions to serve as light givers for the earth. So this he's talking about the sun here and other stars. God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, the lesser light to rule the night. And he made the stars also, right, almost like poof. He also made the stars. They're just decoration, the icing on the cake. You know, we can't possibly unpack all the fascinating details about the sun, the moon, and the stars. But briefly, let's talk about the stars or not so briefly. It's and there's a lot of fascinating stuff here. Walt Brown says on verse 16 that he made the stars also, quote, again, concise and profound. There are so many statements in scripture that it's not that God leaves the details to her imagination. They're just matter of fact. Right? Not not flowery, but it's concise and profound. Had stretching not happened, all matter would have collapsed into one supermassive black hole, and we would not be here to discuss it. So we'll come to a discussion of the stretching of space. But Dave Gusek notes that a typical galaxy contains billions of individual stars. We have great difficulty even comprehending a billion, let alone a trillion. And our national debt is, what, heading towards $35,000,000,000,000 now? Ridiculous. Our galaxy alone, the Milky Way, contains 200,000,000,000 stars. Our galaxy is shaped like a giant spiral rotating in space with arms reaching out like a pinwheel, and our sun is one star on one arm of the pinwheel. It would take two hundred fifty million years for that pinwheel to make one rotation. But this is only our galaxy. Right? And Earth is specially positioned within that galaxy to observe it, to observe the the glory of the heavens. The average distance between one galaxy and another is about 20,000,000 miles. Our closest galaxy is the Andromeda Galaxy, about 12,000,000 miles away. We can't even conceive of these vast distances. And it's fascinating to consider that for every patch in the sky, the night sky that's the size of the moon, if you could look very deep, you would see about a million galaxies. Isn't that amazing? So the deeper we look into space, the more we see. And, of course, scientists discovered this when they finally got the Hubble telescope operational, and it was able to see clearly. They trained it on some of the darkest seemingly darkest and empty areas of the night sky. And when the images were processed, it revealed countless new galaxies. They did this in 1995 and revealed 3,000 galaxies. Then the ultra deep field in 2004 revealed 10,000 galaxies in a very small area of the night sky. And then in 2012, they went to the extreme. They combined ten years of photographs taken of a region at the in the center of the original ultra deep field. And even with the smaller view, the extreme deep field still showed 5,500 galaxies. So the faintest galaxies visible in that image are one ten billionth of what the human eye can see. So, you know, the the greater the technology, the further we can see out into space, the more the heavens declare the handiwork of God. It's it's just incredible. And yet we read in this account of Genesis, oh, and God made the stars also. So we could talk about that for hours and hours. But now we wanna cover a little bit about the myth of the big bang because, sadly, most Christians, not surprisingly, are are not well versed in how to debunk this because it's not commonly known or popularly taught. Everywhere we turn it on the TV and books and magazines, it's the big bang, the big bang, the big bang. Even though by the scientists' own evidence and admission, the more they try to prove it, the more the findings disprove the big bang. And so you've gotta come back at some point and say, we're barking up to the wrong tree. Right? But but they can't because as as one famous evolutionary scientist, doctor Lewontin, I think his name was, he said, even though we believe in fairy tales, and I'm paraphrasing, he said, we cannot allow a divine foot in the door. That's how much that they resist the truth of God. They can't allow a divine foot in the door because they refuse they're willfully ignorant. Right? They're willfully ignorant. Okay. So the fascinating thing is that the stars are still expanding, but are they expanding because of the big bang? Did all stellar matter and planets originate from an explosion of an infinitesimally small point, microscopic, smaller than a period. The the evolutionists, the uniformitarians, say that all matter was so compressed into a tiny dot, a speck they call a singularity, and it exploded. And then from that, we have the creation of gases and then planets and then life, living things. That defies all the laws of physics that we know today. It's simply not possible, but they have to that's what they have to start with because they they can't allow a divine foot in the door. So let's look at just a few reasons. Walt Brown, his book, In the Beginning, you know, debunks this big bang theory and offers a biblical and scientific replacement or explanation that is is true to the scriptures. He says, the Big Bang theory, known to be seriously flawed, was based on three observations, the red shift of light from distant stars. Have you heard of the red shift, kind of a Doppler effect? The cosmic microwave background radiation and the amount of helium in the universe, all three, if correctly understood, contradict the Big Bang theory. You know, honestly, I I would I'm I'm not a scientist. I'm a researcher. So I'm not saying that I fully understand all the technical aspects of this. And yet we can see as we read We don't have to be scientists to understand that that what is true and what is false. So this redshift, which shows that stars and galaxies are moving away from the earth, they're stretching out or reddening the wavelengths of light they emit. So the the more distant stars and galaxies have a greater redshift, and so the space between these bodies is increasing. Okay? And this has been consistently observed, so consistently that it's called Hubble's law Hubble's law. And he he discovered it all the way back in 1929. Pretty impressive. So that in itself disproves the big bang. Why would it still be why would these bodies be increasing in speed from an explosion? Isn't that a violation of what we know of matter and inertia? Right? So space itself has expanded. So the potential energy of stars, galaxies, and other matter has increased with no corresponding loss of energy elsewhere. Big mystery. These galaxies in their recession from us should be decelerating, but to the surprise of everyone, measurements show the opposite. Galaxies are accelerating. Isn't that amazing? It reminds me of the scriptures that you know, it says that birth pangs will increase. Right? Things will happen at a greater frequency, at a greater rate. And, you know, day by day, we see events in our world that are accelerating, earthquakes accelerating, you know, volcanic activity. Everything is accelerating. And so potential parallel here in the physical realm, things are accelerating. So the Big Bang violates the law of conservation of energy, which is probably the most important of all physical laws. Also regarding helium, real quickly. Contrary to what's commonly taught, the Big Bang theory does not explain the amount of helium in the universe. The theory was adjusted to fit the amount of helium. It's kind of like evolution is trying to date a fossil by the rocks and the rocks by the fossil. They keep turning the knobs until they come up with a date that fits with their preconceived notion of how old they think that the the fossil is. So a Big Bang would produce only hydrogen, helium, and a trace of lithium so that the first generation of stars to somehow form after Big Bang should consist only of these elements. Fascinating. Some of these stars should still exist, but despite extensive searches, none have been found. And real quickly, that brings us to heavy elements. Evolutionists historically have had a great difficulty explaining the origin of heavy elements. Do you remember the periodic table of elements from your school years? And because a big bang would produce only the three lightest elements, hydrogen, helium, and lithium. You've probably heard, you know, we believe in the baby in the beginning God, and evolutionist believes in the beginning hydrogen. Okay? So the bottom line is that in the periodic table of elements, anything heavier than iron should not exist in a big bang universe. Isn't that amazing? So these are just a few of the many reasons Walt Brown gives in his book for why the big bang is a big bust. And, you know, I recommend Walt's Material, also ICR and Answers in Genesis. You can look up their videos online. And they do a good job of helping simplify some of these technical ideas. But from those organizations, I've never seen a comprehensive biblical explanation for how God created that explains all of the things that we observe. But in his masterful work in the beginning, which hopefully will be ready to print here in a in a month or two, we're working on final changes, doctor Walt Brown reveals fascinating insights into the mechanics of day four. And so next week, I hope to have more handouts available. Vicky's gonna put on screen you know what? Let's assign some bible verses as we get into this section. So we're gonna we have 11 references, and we we're gonna turn to the scriptures and let the scriptures explain why the universe is expanding. So someone take Job nine verse eight. Job I'll take that. Okay? Psalm one zero four verse two. I'll take that one. Great. Isaiah 40 verse 22. We'll get that. Okay? Isaiah forty two five. Isaiah forty four twenty four. Isaiah forty five twelve. Okay. Isaiah 4eight 13. I'll do that. Okay. Isaiah 5one 13. I'll do that one. Okay. Jeremiah ten twelve. Jeremiah ten twelve. Okay. Two more. Jeremiah fifty one fifteen, And lastly, Zechariah 12 verse one. I'll do that one. Okay. And so that's a lot of references, but I think it's important just to show how prevalent this concept is, and then we can talk about it a little further. Let's start off with Job nine eight. Which alone spread about the heavens and tread upon the waves of the sea. And that's speaking of God. And Psalm one zero four two. Who covers thyself with light as with a garment? Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain? Isaiah forty twenty two. It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers that stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in. Isaiah forty two five. This is what the Lord God says. He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that goes out of it comes out of it, who gives breath to its people and life to those who walk in it. Isaiah forty four twenty four. Forty four twenty four. Raising over there. Forty four twenty four. This is what the lord says, your redeemer who formed you in the womb. I am the lord who has made all things, who alone stretches out the heavens, who spread out the earth by thyself by myself. Isaiah forty five twelve. I have made the earth and created man on it. I, my hands stretched out the heavens, and all their hosts I have commanded. Mhmm. Isaiah forty eight thirteen. But my hand has also laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spammed the heavens. When I call unto them, they stand up together. Isaiah fifty one thirteen. I think that's me. Fifty one thirteen. That you forget the Lord, your maker, who stretches out the heavens and who lays the foundation of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor who is bent on destruction, for where is the wrath of the oppressor? Jeremiah ten twelve. Jeremiah ten twelve. Or Jeremiah fifty one fifteen. He hath made the earth by his power. He hath established the world world by his wisdom and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. And Zechariah 12 verse one. I'm sorry. Meant to. Yeah. I meant to be in 12. Anybody seen any common denominators here? Yeah. God does it all. Stretching. There's a whole lot of stretching going on. Right? The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, say it the Lord, which stretch stretcheth forth the heavens and layeth the foundation of the earth and formeth the spirit of man within him. Well, stretching, spreading by his hand, stretching, spreading, stretching, spreading by his hand over and over and over 11 times, we see this. And so when a phrase or a concept is repeated in scripture this many times, you think we should pay special attention? Do you think that it's mere poetry? K. We know that the the writers are anthropomorphizing God. We know that God is not in the form of man. Right? So there's not a literal hand like our human hand doing the stretching out. It's a metaphor, but it's describing a process. It's not just poetic. It does give us a sense of the enormity of God. Right? Because he's the creator. He's outside of his creation, and yet he he's over it. And nothing is too large for him. Nothing is too small for him. It's it's an it's incredible. So we do get a little hint or a little glimpse of his omnipotence. Right? But as Walt Brown points out in his book, this is describing a process. And so what happens if we take these concepts of stretching and spreading and take a look at how that is actually describing the physical process by which God did the creating that solves a lot of problems. So Vicky, on on the livestream, I think, is gonna put up a graphic stretching out the heavens like a tent curtain. Right? And so when you if you have a curtain, like the curtain on the window there, your curtains at home, or even a shower curtain, if you want a picture, a shower curtain. Right? When it's scrunched together, okay, that is at the beginning of creation. Everything is compressed. Right? You've got a few light days. The the all the vastness of the universe compressed and compacted into into a short span of distance or time comparatively. And then we see God stretches out the heavens. So he's taking the the stars, the light that connects them, and the distances between things. Instead of being close together, when he created them at the beginning, they're being stretched out as they go farther and farther away from the earth. And So I can explain how scientists say that the universe is expanding when God is actually just stretching it. Absolutely. Absolutely. It didn't come from the explosion. Right? Because there as Walt explains in his book, an explosion is problematic. And as we already read, the speed is accelerating. These galaxies are accelerating. Let's define the laws of known physics. Alright? We know that any everything decelerates. You know, you take your foot off the gas on a car, it decelerates. So the big bang theory is disproven. And distant stars and galaxies well, let's just read a little bit of what Walt says. He says, the law of conservation of energy says that energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system. According to the Big Bang Theory, the universe is an isolated system so that energy could not have come from within the universe as the Big Bang Theory claims. Instead, it came from outside the universe. Thus, we can see distant stars and galaxies in a young universe. The universe is young, and there are many, many other evidences of of a young universe. So I'll keep you posted. I'll keep Vicky and pastor Rick posted on the process of Walt's book, which explains a lot more in a lot more detail and even some technically, he's a tremendous learned man, a a scientist, mathematician. And so he's got lots of technical notes if that's the inclination to explain further these theories that scripture has been telling us all along, hiding in plain sight, just waiting for God revealed by his spirit to someone to understand and explain these things in in a in a way that makes sense. Alright. Okay. So there's many, many references in scripture to God creation, creating the stars, even the constellations. And verse 17 says, and God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good and evening and morning were the fourth day. So we see in many other passages descriptions of constellations. So this is regarding signs. Okay? So today's constellations don't make a lot of sense. The the mean the meanings, of course, are connected to astrology, but the constellations themselves are not astrological. I mean, they are not they don't have a New Age meaning by and of themselves. They're just physical entities. So throughout the centuries, men have assigned mystical spiritual meanings to many of the constellations. But we see some evidence in scripture that these were originally in the sky for signs and for seasons. Right? And so it's important to consider that. Job thirty eight and thirty one through 33 says, canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades or loose the bands of Orion? Okay. We see constellations mentioned in scripture. Who knew the constellations were in the Bible? Isn't that fascinating? Canst thou bring forth Mazaroth in his season? God is speaking to Job here. Or canst thou guide Arcturus, that's a great star, with his sons, in other words, the the associated stars in that constellation, knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? So, wow, this is an amazing a lot of people think the book of Job is about suffering, right, and how to suffer and how God allows trials in your life. And you can draw those analogies and applications, but God never answers the question of suffering in that book. All he does is declare his glory as manifested in his creation. So as we come, we'll see Job even talks about the dinosaurs in chapter forty and forty one. So, again, Isaiah 40 verse 26 says, lift up your eyes and high. Behold, who hath created these things that bringeth out their host by number, he calls them all by names, by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power, not one faileth. So God named all the stars, the billions upon trillions upon trillions of stars. He knows them each by name. Amos five eight says, seek him that maketh the seven stars of Orion and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into morning, and maketh the day dark with night that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out over the face of the earth. And in Job twenty six thirteen, by his spirit, he's garnished the heavens. His hand has formed the crooked serpent. Fascinating. What's the crooked serpent? Any guesses? It's a constellation called Draco. Alright? Draco. And so the crooked serpent of Job 26 is a it's a constellation in the far Northern sky. Its name is Latin for dragon. Okay? It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the second century Greek astronomer Ptolemy and remains one of the 88 modern constellations today. So that's fascinating. You know? And without going on a complete town tangent, it's interesting that Elon Musk chose to name his reusable space capsule Dragon. Right? Dragon. Remember that he said he's not just MAGA. He's dark Gothic MAGA. Right? And so this alludes to occult associations and Gnostic belief system, Gnostic references. So all all signs point to the fact that he is, in fact, engaged in occultism, following in the footsteps of the rocket scientist Jack Parsons. Anybody know his story? He was the founder of JPL, Jet Propulsion Laboratories, also known as Jack Parsons Laboratory. Right? He was the forerunner to NASA. Okay? Many have pointed out that the logo for NASA has an element resembling the tongue of a serpent. It's a red, fiery tongue. Might mean something, might not. But Parsons was a disciple of Alastair Crowley called the wickedest man in the world. Okay? And here he is. He recited an ode I think it was an ode to Pan before every rocket launch that he did. So he was dedicating his work to really to Lucifer. And he was also practiced a sex magic ritual called Babylon working. Oh, he has it. He has That's that's that's known as a delta. Right. But isn't it curious that it looks like the tongue of a serpent? Yeah. It could. It's true enough. Yeah. Because the snake is up here. Just like in the Taco Bell logo, you've got the the head of a serpent and the bell. The the the the gong of the bell is an eye of a serpent if look you at the Taco Bell logo. So these things are hiding in plain sight. Symbols mean things. I'm not saying that you have to look at every symbol and try to interpret it mystically or spiritually. But when when you're a man with the access and the knowledge and and the influence of Jack Parsons or Elon Musk and where you're aware of bible prophecy with these references to dragon and and signs in the heavens, you begin to take notice. So Jack Parsons was deeply involved in the occult, a disciple of Aleister Crowley. They tried to use a sex magic ritual to birth a what would really be a demon child called the the whore of Babylon. And so it's interesting that Elon Musk seems to be following in his footsteps, know, copulating with many women, producing offspring. He would fill the whole planet with his seed if he could. And one of his sons that has been very prominently put forward is named X for short. Right? And, of course, he's renamed Twitter X. X, without getting into it, is highly mystical and occult, but his son's full name is called X Ash a twelve. And a twelve is a reference to an aircraft called archangel archangel. So, again, you've got highly symbolic things hiding in plain sight here. And at a Halloween ball in 2022, Musk wore a red leather costume called devil's champion, and this featured the head of Baphomet with an inverted cross. So all this ties into Freemasonry, ties into Kabbalah, ties into the occult. There's nothing new under the sun. This is ancient Egyptian religion. This is Babylonian religion. And it it reaches today into the highest halls of power, including the White House, right, with with Musk's direct involvement with president Trump bringing in, as pastor Rick has told us many times, the beast system the beast system is poised and ready to be unfurled. And so we're just waiting for that shoe to drop. We're just waiting for an event, a crisis where they can then install the forerunner of the systems, the foundations in place. They're getting ready to to make these final moves, and the Lord is long suffering, not willing that any should perish. So, you know, the rapture is imminent, always has been. But we you know, as long as the Lord delays, we stand to see some of these events begin to take place. I'm waiting for the rapture. And that just means we we do what? We look up. We look up. So alright. I I inserted that because pastor Rick's on vacation, and I I had to work that little tidbit in to the study. I didn't want you guys to feel deprived. Alright? So praise God for that. Pardon? Yeah. We're gonna wrap up for tonight and pick up next week. And so, Lord, we thank you for the creation of Sinus who you have also enlightened by the light of your word and by the powers of reasoning that you have given us. Lord, because you're a creator, you made us in our image, and we thank you, and we look forward to one day when you will we will see you as you are. You Lord, you will perfect our bodies as as we become in your likeness. He has begun a good work. He has begun will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. And so, Lord, as we keep watch, we pray that we'll, be looking for you until you come. In Jesus' name. Amen.
