Live from Bremerton. It's Monday night, and we are gonna study, Lord Willen, Ezekiel chapter 27 tonight. So those of you on Facebook, welcome, and praise the Lord. A new year, the first bible study of the new year, I guess, or maybe the second. But in any event, let's pray. Father, thank you that we can gather together in your name. Pray for those who are sick. Pray for Julie's mom, Susan, that you continue to help her to recover, do miracles, lord. Continue to be miraculous in that way. Continue to open doors for Brooke, for her to have a new care place, Lord, with friends and such. And just, Lord, in your time and your way as you're stretching Ray and stretching Betty, through this process. And, Lord, be with my wife, Kathy. Help her. Lord, I pray she feels better. And then Cora and Alan, maybe they're watching, and James and Sally. And just pour out your holy spirit upon us, Lord. Thank you, Lord, that you're coming soon, very, very soon. We can see what's happening as you're showing us prophetically, Lord. So bless this bible study tonight, and give us ears to hear and hearts to apply that what you're teaching us, Lord. Build us up and strengthen us in Jesus' name. Amen. Alright. Thanks, Rob. I'm hearing that. Love the study of your word. Is that the Lord? Moses. Is that like Charlton Heston? Moses. Hear an echo. Do you guys know that Cecil B. DeMille used the voice of Charlton Heston for the voice of God in that movie? Moses. Alright. Here we go. Alright. So the word of the Lord came again unto me saying, so whose word is this? The Lord. It's the word of man? No. It's the word of the Lord. So we need to we need to distinguish between the word of man and the word of the Lord. Everybody's got opinions with YouTube and all that other kind of stuff, but we need to stay with the word of the Lord, the scriptures, which are inspired, which are inerrant in the original, documents. And, there's some scribal errors, you know, in the, the Bibles, the translation and all, but they're minor, very, very minor. We know where they are in the King James, and we can we can, you know, fix them for you. But you can depend upon, you can have confidence in this is the word of God that God does not lie, God does not change, and his word is a light unto your feet. Right? And in the days and weeks ahead, with all this chaos going on, we wanna we want to keep it simple. We wanna stay with the word of God and not go down these rabbit holes that people are trying to get us to go into and, just stay with the word of God. As I said on Sunday, there's nobody reading the word of God that's going to wind up becoming a flat earther. You've got to read other things and go other places to come up with that sort of a a notion. Nobody reading the word of god is gonna wind up becoming a Mormon. You've got to you've got to incorporate other books, maybe the Book of Mormon and stuff or other opinions of people to even to even venture, you know, out there. So what we're saying is we're gonna stay with the word of God, and it doesn't matter if Jonathan Cahn comes out with a new con or if if whoever it is with a new book or an opinion about the drones or the orbs or the fog or whatever's coming, we're gonna stay with the word of God. Alright? And when we see things happen, we can we can like with Peter at at Pentecost, we can say, this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel. After the fact, we can say, hey. This fits. You know? But to speculate about up ahead and and all that kind of stuff, hey. I saw two crows flying, and then they started to fly backwards. I think that's you know? Wow. Two crows flying backwards? Now a whole book's gonna be written about two crows flying backwards. You know? That's the kind of stuff we have to deal with anymore. And if it was three, then I'd pay attention because that's, you know, that's a trinity right there. So but the stupidity of what we're dealing with in the last days, as one pastor said last week, because of the apostasy, which means a falling away from the truth, there's a departure from the truth. Because of that taking place right now, we have a professing church, people that profess to be believers. And within that professing church, you have a true church, and you don't necessarily know who's which. The angels are gonna come at the end of the age and separate the wheat from the chaff, the sheep from the goats, But Jesus said, you'll know them by their fruits. So the fruit of the spirit is love, and, the holy spirit's been given to guide us into all truth. We're told in Jude to earnestly contend for the faith. What's it mean to contend? To fight. It's a battle. It's a battle. It's a battle to stay on that straight and narrow and to walk in truth. You if you stay with the truth, you're gonna come under fire. You're gonna become a, you know, a target. We're told to prove all things. Hold fast to that which is good. Right? In in first Thessalonians chapter five, you have to prove everything. Hold fast to that which is good. In first John, we're told to try the spirits. So somebody come in here and they could quote a verse. You have to be reminded the devil knows the verses of the bible. The demons know the verses of the bible. The demons say they believe in God. Now you need to try the spirit. You need to try like the holy spirit's gonna be speaking to you, and the holy spirit's gonna give you a check-in your spirit if this doesn't sound right of how they're applying it or putting it or twisting it or whatever. And and we're also told in first Corinthians 11, Paul says, I'm jealous over you with a godly jealousy because I've espoused you, you know, as a chaste virgin under Christ. So he's talking about the church at Corinth, and they're brand new new believers. And he's saying, I got a responsibility in regard to you. I wanna make sure that you're not corrupted, that nobody can twist you and get you away, for the simplicity that's in Christ. And as the serpent beguiled Eve, you know, getting in there and complicating the word of God. Right? You're not gonna die, you know, lying to her and all. And he says, so, I I want to make sure and ensure that doesn't happen. So if somebody comes along with a different Jesus, tomorrow we're gonna or next week, we're gonna look at, again, what was behind it all in chapter 28. What was behind Tyre? There was a demonic leader, the devil, Lucifer. And so that'll be very interesting next week. A lot of times we look at governments, we look at nations, and we don't see as Paul said, we fight not against flesh and blood, but against spirits and principalities of the air. When, Daniel was praying in Daniel chapter 10, he was praying for twenty one straight days, and, Michael came and he said, Daniel, beloved of God, from the very first moment that you began to pray, you know, your prayers were heard. But I was engaged with the prince of Persia, so he was fighting. Michael was fighting with the fallen angels, the principalities and powers that their sphere of responsibility was that of Persia. And, and so it gave us a picture of the spiritual realm, the good angels fighting with the bad angels. And, next week, we'll see that one of the abodes, one of the places where Satan was cast down to was the air. He's the prince of the power of the air. So flat earthers think there's just one level of air. You know? But the bible teaches three. The bible teaches where the birds fly, where you and I breathe the atmosphere, and then space, and then the third heaven that Paul was caught up to. Right? In, second Corinthians chapter 12, a man in the body or out of the body, caught up to the third heaven where is God's throne. So but Satan, when he was cast out of heaven, he was cast down to the earth. And when Adam fell, Satan became the prince of the power of the air. Satan can only be in one place at a time. He's he's needing Elon Musk to help him with all those cameras and and all that kind of stuff and all the the AI and all that. And so today, when you're thinking in terms of, possibly Putin sending off some nukes, one of the reasons why I've I've always held back on that idea or an EMP is why. They're not gonna destroy something. They're gonna keep it. Because they want the cameras. They want the cameras. Yeah. They're working real hard to put in their surveillance system. Their artificial intelligence everywhere all over the globe. And one nuke, one EMP can set them back for a long time. Now I've always said, hey. A good EMP would be a good thing Yeah. Because it would free us up and we could you know, those of us that know how to grow a garden Mhmm. Mhmm. Chickens, you know, we would survive. Right? City folks wouldn't survive. But there's so many you around that would keep me fed, I'd survive. And so but people in the cities and stuff totally dependent upon, you know, trucks coming in, commerce replacing everything. And and and the deal is is if you live in a fifteen minute city with complete surveillance and you're on a digital currency, then you get to keep breathing as long as you're useful to us. And and so that's that's their dream. That's their dream of the tribulation period. So I don't I don't don't foresee necessarily, you know, a huge global World War three where they're gonna utilize, nukes everywhere. It'd take them forever to rebuild their whole beast system. So maybe biological, maybe conventional in some ways, maybe maybe one or two nukes in America. But nowadays, they have what they call tactical nukes so they can take out, you know, like, one city and, kill millions of people in one city, and then it doesn't have quite the fallout that that, the larger ones do. So who knows what their tactic is, but the devil is the prince of the power of the air. And, he's he's trying to take as many people as he can to hell, and the lord's given us a picture here of Tyre that we can learn from as Americans. We can learn from from Israel the way that God used the Babylonians to take them down. We can look at them the years and years and years that God warned them and let them know that judgment was coming if they didn't repent. Real simple. If they repent, it wouldn't happen. And we can see, Babylon later destroyed by the Persians, and we can see, here Tyre, and we can see other nations that are destroyed because of their disobedience against God. And so we talk about a shelf life for a nation. When we talk about the times of the Gentiles, we've gone over this many times in Daniel two and Daniel seven, you know, the the Babylonian Empire, the Middle Persian Empire, the Greek Empire, the Roman Empire, and then the tribulation period is the rebirth of the Roman Empire. The fifth, the fifth one will be Jesus. The fourth one, the rebirth of the fourth one is Rome, and that's the antichrist leading it in place of Jesus Christ. And and as we look at that, we see nations nations come and nations go in the hash heaps of history. So here Tyre, they're gonna clean their nets. They're gonna after this is done, after Alexander got finished with them, the Lord said it just can be a place for the cleaning of nets, of drying of nets on the rock there. Alright. And say unto Tyre, oh, thou that that is situated at the entrance of the sea, that as a merchant of the people for many coastlines, thus saith the Lord God, oh, Tyre, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty. And so in chapter 28 verse 12, Lucifer says the same thing. He's perfect in beauty. And, and so this is a picture of her former glory, very proud very proud because of how wealthy she is, how beautiful she is. I'm always blown away when I see, the beach and cities at the coast and the outcroppings of the rocks and the sand and the smells and the the waves. And, sometimes it's nice when we go down to California to just sit on a bench right by the wedge on Balboa Peninsula and just watch the ships come in and out of Newport Harbor. And it's just beautiful, sunny, peaceful. And then you can go over to, Long Beach, same same sort of thing. Good restaurants, and you can sit by San Pedro, and you can see the big container ships coming in and fishing fishing vessels. And when I used to live there, I'd take my boat out and go fishing, and I'd drive right by. I'd go right by the Queen Mary as the Queen Mary's there in Long Beach Harbor and, went to some dances at the Queen Mary when I was in high school and, go to the bait barge over there. So just beautiful. Just beautiful. And, some of you, may enjoy the Puget Sound the same way. You like getting in a boat and go around Bainbridge Island. My girls did that one time a couple times and, maybe, head up to the San Juans. The San Juans is your thing. It's just, you know, gorgeous up there. Or go up to Port Townsend and look out at the ships and the shipbuilders and the shipyard and and all those things, the wood boats being made up in Port Townsend. And so thy borders are in the midst of the sea. Thy builders have perfected thy beauty. So a very well built city. And strategically, you know, they've got an army. They got sailors. They've got weapons. They have the city itself fortified. As we said, the Assyrians tried for five years to destroy that we saw last week, and they're unable. And then Nebuchadnezzar put a siege of thirteen years and finally got into the city that was built on the coast itself. And the people were gone, and he just tore it down to rubble. And then when Alexander the great came, he took all that rubble and built the causeway and took them down. So they have made all thy planks of fir trees and these fir trees were brought in from a senior which is Mount Hermon. So look at the materials that are being used here. These aren't cheap materials. They're used in the very, best materials to make these ships. And if you're a shipbuilder like Rob, pay attention. So they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for the for thee. So Rob, why would they use a big cedar for a mast? It's strong and straight grained. What else? Will it dry rot? No. Cedar's tough stuff. It'll No dry rot. There you go, baby. So, yeah, they have cedar for the mast. And like, Vicky's laughing. Vicky's laughing. Vicky's laughing. Rob's got it down. Now explain what straight grain is. What's that? Straight grain is is strong, but, I mean, it doesn't have knots, and that knots Okay. Can overstress the tree. There you go. So the planks of fir trees from Mount Hermon, and then they've taken a mast from the cedars of Lebanon. And these are cedars of Lebanon, king Hiram, when Solomon was building the temple, that's where he'd get his source of source of lumber, to make mass for thee. And then of the oaks of Bashan, which is the Golan Heights, have they made thine ores? Why why do you need oak for ores? It's hard wood. Super strong hardwood? Okay. So it's gonna last. Now these oarsmen, the crew of oarsmen, they had 200 men as oarsmen on many of these ships. And so, again, my favorite movie's been her. He's number 41. Right? And he's there in the bottom of the ship. He's chained to the ship, and he's only there. Now when we study through first Corinthians, remember we came across the word under rower. Under rower is Paul said he's an under rower. He used the word spectacle. We're theatron, where everybody's kinda watching us, the angels and everything. And he used the word off scouring. Off scouring is the bathtub ring, but the under rower is a person that's only alive to row. So he's a condemned criminal. So Judah Ben Hur was a condemned criminal. He's an under rower. He's number 41. Remember that? Number 41. And so he learned to go at what? Battle speed? Tax speed? Ramming speed. Ramming speed. And it's so fun, wasn't it? And then they had it they had it rhythm. Right? Rhythmic? And so those guys had to go in rhythm, and that was the state of the art way to travel, you know, for the mariners. And so, anyway, they got oars made out of out of oak trees, and these oak trees of Bashan. Israel has, you know, grows of oak trees and one of the strongest of woods, and so they're making it out of that. They didn't go cheap. Now if they'd went cheap, they'd have went with what? Pine? Pine break real quick? Cacea. Pine's super flexible too. Yeah. It's flexible. And so you wouldn't wanna use pine. You what about alder wood? Can you make anything out of alder wood or cherry wood or apple wood? Good barbecue. Yeah. Good barbecue. Right? But they're not for building building you guys craftsman, it's not for that? Fine furniture and stuff. There you go. Yeah. Because you got a lot of knots in it, curves, and twists, and grain for furniture. Okay. You wouldn't make a hope chest for for Jocelyn, probably. Cedarwood. Right? Cedar? And it keeps keeps the bugs away. Cedar? And a cedar closet. Right? Mhmm. Keep the moths away? That's what I have. I have a cedar closet. Cedar. Oh, boy. Okay. Cypresswood. So Oaks Of Bashan have they made thine ores. The company of the Asherites have made the benches or the decks, if you will, of ivory. Decks of ivory brought out of the coast of Kiddom. So this is a cypress wood and beautiful. Fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt. So how many thread are your sheets, your Egyptian sheets on your beds? Thousand. How many? 10,000. No. Seven? Yeah. 200 count. 200 plus? Count. Yeah. Yeah. I Standard. Anything under 200. I don't I don't use I don't use it. It's gotta be at least 200. 200. But their linen isn't that fine. Egyptian linen? No. Linen. That's you're talking about silk. Fine linen with embroidered Still fine, but it's not Egypt. Not that many counts. What comes from Egypt? I suspect them, they had actually do it. Embroidered work from Egypt was that which thou spread forth to be thy sale. So what would you use for your sale? With a linen sale? Canvas? Yeah. Heavy linen. Heavy linen? Okay. And it can get wet and dry just fine and fold up. And notice the colors, blue and purple from the coast of Elisha was that which covered thee. So they had beautiful sails that were kind of branding, and you knew that these sails, when you saw them, that it was those of those mariners from Tyre. And so where did they get the ability to dye these these fabrics, the sails? So I'll tell you. Oh. Or What was that again? They use muscles. In this case, they use muscles. From the sea? Meryx muscles. Yeah. And the myrrhix mouth three different types of muscles, but the myrrhix muscle was for the purple. There's a there's a word in Psalm 22. Psalm 22. During medieval times, they used a a particular type of grass that they would that they would wet, pulverize, soak, and as they they cured it, and then they had to cure it in some really nasty stuff. They used animal waste and a bunch of other things, but that would cause that the the juices of the grass, it turned blue. And that's where they came up with their royal blue dyes for French French dyes and English dyes. Iron in the animal brought out the blue in the grass. Probably mixed together, but you had a con a really nasty concoction to make this stuff. Thank you. Alright. So here here you have in Psalm 22 verse six, but I'm a worm and no man, a reproach of men and despised by the people. Now Jesus is saying this. Right? And there's a worm that they would use called the crimson crocus worm, and they would crush it, and it would it would give off a red. And so, anyway, that's interesting there as he's his blood is being shed upon the cross there. I'm a worm and no man. He's being crushed. Okay. So little nuggets little nuggets. One the things I miss is when I have my library, I can still do it. It's not as easy, but there's there's guys that have gone through the bible like Weist, Kenneth Weist. He'll take the keywords and he'll you can go through and you can look at words like that, and you they're called nuggets. They're treasures. There are some you don't you don't quite see it when you read it in English, but when someone goes through and looks at the Greek word for it or the Hebrew word for it, it has far more, you know, meaning, and it's so you're digging. You're mining the word of God to come up with these nuggets. And Kenneth Weiss has a word study bible that's like that. It's really fascinating. Alright. So so the cypress wood from Kiddom, coast of Kiddom, fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be the sale. Blue and purple from the coasts of Elisha, that which covered thee. The inhabitants of Sidon Sidon is 20 miles north from Tyre. So the inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were thy mariners. So you got you got people from other places also coming in and helping you as as mariners, as sailors. The wise men of Tyre that were in thee were the pilots. So the mariners were the rowers. They were the one that would row, a crew of over 200. Now you need a pilot. You need someone to pilot the captain of that ship, captain Ahab and shipmates. And so why is it important to have a good pilot? To know the course, know where short shoals are in the water, know where dangers are. Yep. So wind and currents. Jesus is the pilot for us. Right? He's the pilot of the ship, and he's our captain. Now if you didn't have a good pilot, the pilot would also need to navigate how, Rob? How would they navigate? Would use line of sight from the land, or they'd use a sextant of some type of using celestial bodies. So like the North Star? Mhmm. K. So does the North Star ever go away? You can't find it? No. It's always there. Always there? Constant. Is there a southern star? Nothing that we use for navigation. Navigation? Okay. This is before GPS and everything? In any time frame of all of history, has any of these ships ever gone over the edge? Never in the history of the world, Not in the history of the whole world as a ship going over the edge. They sunk. They'll sink. Yeah? Yeah. They sink, but they don't they don't go over they don't go over the very edge. Because they have a pilot. Right? They have a captain. The captain's not gonna take us over the edge. Right? If there was an edge. I mean, it's it's it's like, alright. Here we go. I don't know where that came from. Alright. So the ancients, the older guys, the older guys, the ancients of Gibral and its wise men. So you're gonna need some wise men. We're in the thy conquerors and all the ships of the sea with their mariners. Wherein thee to exchange thy merchandise. So here you have you have the caulkers. You have those that work in the shipyard, and periodically, I've had boats where you have them hauled. And you guys are working the shipyard. You have boats ships huge ships that go into the bay there, and you've gotta go and inspect them and all the welds. And if they're wood boats like these these boats, you gotta you gotta recaulk. You gotta pull out all the old recaulk it. And one of the things they discovered with the building of Noah's Ark was what? The pitch. The pitch. The pitch is is water resistant, and so you can you can paint on the pitch on the bottom of a ship there and and keep it waterproof. So we had a sailboat once that we bought, and you leave it sit there, in the dock, and it gets, like, this much barnacles on it. Not exaggerating. So you can pay a guy to go down there and scrape all that, but there's a point in time where you gotta have it hauled. You gotta have it pulled out, and we had ours pulled out in Port Orchard. And then you you you scrape it all off, and then you put a new membrane, a new paint. You paint the bottom, and it's supposed to keep stuff away. And then you put new zinc so that the electrolysis and stuff doesn't doesn't erode your prop or any kind of metals that are hanging in the water. And and so, anyway, you gotta do that periodically. So these guys had to pull these boats. They had to recaulk them, reput pitch on them, and get them ready for the, you know, the season. So there's certain season where you pull the boats and, and do that kind of work. If they hit stuff like I do when I was driving my boats, I'd hit stuff and hit other boats, hit docks, break stuff. One time on a Monday morning, because I'm not very awake on Monday mornings, I had to move, our boat at Brownsville Harbor. And I was coming around the corner. And I noticed that the bumper was hanging off, and so I reached over to grab the bumper. Kinda like if you're in your car and you look at your phone, you look down, you kinda steer that way. And so all of a sudden, I heard the love of my life say, Rick. And when I when I pulled my head up, I should have pulled it out too, but I pulled my head up. I hit a yacht. Oh, no. Oh, no. Hit a nice beautiful wood yacht on the corner, and I heard this volcano down inside of it say, what the f was that? And these guys were really taking care of all the teak and all the wood and everything, getting it ready for a trip down to Mexico. And they've been working and working and working on it. And and I and I that's me. And I got I got a reputation down there. People used to look at me when I start to take my boat out. They'd be spying on me so you can't hit anything. And Run there. Hi. And then I went to I went to this guy named Kelly that worked on my boat, and and I I told him what happened and because I knew he'd have to fix it. And he said, it wasn't. I said, oh, is that boat down there? And he went on the corner there, and he says, not Ron's. Not Ron's. And so he knew it was gonna cost me a lot because it was Ron's. And but, anyway, I paid the guy off and everything's fine. Nobody got hurt. That's the key thing. Right? Nobody got hurt. Uh-huh. Just my pride. Kathy Kathy, you know, they remind you of those kind of stories all the time. You know? Anytime boat story comes up. Remember you when you hit that? Yeah. I remember that. Yeah. I remember that. Remember when you yeah. No. Nobody remembers that. Alright. So you have some wise men. I wasn't very wise, very unwise. And I'll tell you another one, how unwise. Now this is important because we were talking about this. If you are navigating and you go off, let's say let's say you're, you're gonna go 26 miles out to Catalina Island, you leave Newport Beach. And let's say you have a compass and you're off one degree or flying an airplane, you're off one, two, three degrees on Hawaii. How far away from your destination will you be, you know, as you spread spread out there? Can be way off. So right? So Andy and I, my buddy, my best friend, we had a boat together, and we took off from Newport, in the morning. It was cloudy, super cloudy, and, we're not wise men. My compass was not mounted. Just hold it. You just hold it. You know? And, so that's number one. Now I used to get to Catalina I get to Catalina Island. I get to this is you're gonna love me after this. Okay? I get to Catalina Island because I always leave Long Beach, Sunset Harbor, Sunset Sunset Aquatic Park. And I can go out from that channel, and I know the direction that I have to go to hit hit Catalina. I've been there many times. K? Even though I can't see it. But I went out of Newport, and Andy was driving the boat. So we're going, going, going, and it's all sucked in. And we're looking for a marlin to catch some marlin, but first of all, we had to catch some mackerel. So you gotta catch bait. So we got the bait, put it in the bait well, and we're going, going, going. I'm letting him drive it. And now I know inside of me how long we've been out there, and I know we should be seeing Avalon. We should see the the island. And we weren't seeing it. And so out of politeness, I just kept quiet and kept quiet and quiet. And pretty soon we ran out of gas on the one tank. And so I flipped it over to the next tank, and then we're going, going, going, going. And finally, saw the outcropping of a of an island there. And I said, where is Avalon? Where where's the island? And he goes, oh, there it is. So we're going, going, going, going, going, going, going. And as we're getting closer, all I saw was a water tower on the side of that island. And I said and it hit him the same time it hit me. That's not Catalina Island. That's San Clemente Island. So San Clemente Island's 52 miles out, and Catalina's 26. So how much gasoline you got left? Right? And there's nothing there. No services. So here's another knucklehead thing. So a big so a big, swordfish boat was going by, and we're I'm yelling at, hey. You got any gasoline? You got any gasoline? And he just goes, no. Just diesel. Just diesel. I said, oh, okay. And I said, where's Catalina Island? He said, North. And I said, well, where's North? And he said it was zero on the compass. I think I remember right. And so, again, I gotta mount that compass. I haven't mounted it. Scariest compass. You know? So so so now it gets even scarier. Andy's a strong dude. He's really he's really a strong dude my whole life. So, anyway, we, had an engine on that one that was a Merck. Had it been our old Johnson, you can't hand crank a 150 horse Johnson. So we took the shroud off, and the batteries were too low. It wouldn't crank. So and he says, what do we I said, we gotta empty the bait tank. Gotta get rid of gotta get rid of weight. Gotta get weight off this. And, so we're emptying the water out of the bait tank. And he says, what about these? And he's it's the mackerel we caught. And I said, no. We might need those. And he looked at me like like we're gonna have to you know, we were we're gonna have to eat that to stay alive. And and so so I took the shroud off, put a rope on it, got it started, got it lit, turned it, you know, toward where I saw the other boats where Catalina is supposed to be over there. And, and I remembered that, alright. We only got so much gasoline. Got up on the plane, pulled the pulled back the throttle to not use all that gas. And, turns out we had just enough fuel to get around the corner and get to the fuel dock, you know, in Catalina. And gasoline in those days was about $25 a gallon, and, no. I'm just kidding. It's about whatever it was. It seemed very expensive, but you didn't care. You didn't you know? Yeah. It didn't matter. But, anyway, that's that's, pardon me? Did you ever see Gilligan? Never saw Gilligan. But the first day I went to Oregon, the guy that had us down there to plant a church, let me go out on the Alsea River with his little boat. It was a aluminum one, and me and Jessica and Brittany got it. And the guy says, do know how to handle a boat? I said, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And Kathy's going, oh, yeah. He's had boats for years. Yeah. He's had boats. And so I got into that little one, and the the throttle was really active. I mean, really whoo. And and when I got in it, I I hit the throttle it went up on the dock. And he was standing right there. So anybody wanna go for a boat ride? That sounds like an adventure. Yeah. So so anyway, me and me and boats, I wound up getting rid of the boats. Yeah. So I'm not one of those wise guys. Those guys that know what they're doing, they're really good. And sailing, the whole thing, it's an art. It's a it's a real skill. And so these guys knew what they're doing. Now remember, they're gonna have storms. They're gonna have boats that could be sunk because of the storms. And so different different places. If you go up into Alaska, using a boat up in Alaska is way different than using one in Southern California. Even going from Southern California to Oregon's way different. The Oregon water is way rougher than Southern California. So, anyway, they gotta be able to navigate and do all that. Guys who go up to Alaska, they use the inside passage, and then they tell me that that when they get out in the open sea, it can be, like, 25, 35 foot waves that they gotta, you know, go up and down in. And so I don't know what to what degree these guys are dealing with. But, anyway, they got some very experienced people. They got experienced merchants. They got experienced, mariners in the sense of merchants for, going to market, commercialization. So not just people, the whole thing, this whole business is is dealing with ship owners, the commerce, the, keeping the ships running, keeping the ships ship shape, and and the mariners were in the to exchange thy merchandise. So you had you had those that were very skilled with the transfer of goods and the sale of the goods and bringing money back to the maybe there's three, four people that go in on owning a certain vessel that distributes goods to 24 different customers, and you've gotta be you gotta be on your game to make sure there's a profit. So they have Persia and of Ludd and a pool. These are trade partners. So the area of Syria, Ludd is a Syria pool in thine army. So here you have mercenaries. So you're gonna have mercenaries that are gonna be part of the sailing force out on the maritime, out on the sea to protect you and to protect the island. Then you're gonna have natives that are there in the city proper, who are who live there to also protect. So you're gonna have to be able to protect yourself from pirates and other people that wanna steal all your goods. So men of war, they hung thy shield and helmet and knee, and they set forth thy splendor. So you have put was from Africa. You have some from Assyria. You had these people that would come and be mercenaries. And what do you call that? Merchant ships. Yeah. Merchant ships. And and then the native men's. Verse 11. The men of Arvad with thee, thy army and upon thy walls roundabout and Gramedim were in the thy towers. So you have these men that are there with your towers, the natives. They hung their shields upon thy walls roundabout. They have made thy beauty perfect. So, again, very, very beautiful city that people would see. And so, verses one, so we see the verses 12 through 25, are gonna deal with the trade, that was taking place. And verse one through 11 dealt with how beautiful the ship was in the city and all that. So verse 12, Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all the kind of rich es with silver and iron and tin and lead and traded in thy fare. So remember when Jonah was gonna go down to Nineveh, where did he go instead? Got a ship heading to Tarshish. Tarshish would be Spain. So he's going the opposite direction. That's where Jonah went. And so a lot of a lot of goods in Europe there, in Spain, a lot of very expensive things. So these ships from Tyre would head head over to Tarshish, get some goods there, bring them back, distribute them on the land and, you know, and upon the sea. And so they traded in metals and stuff, commodities. And then Javen Javen, some think it's a city named for Greece, others say for Turkey. And Tubal and Meshach Tubal and Meshach, we'll see in Ezekiel thirty eight and thirty nine, is nations that were near the Black Sea. So nations near the Black Sea, Meshach, Muscovites, the the Russians from Tubal and Meshach. And they were thy merchants. They traded the persons of men and the vessels of bronze, so they had slaves that they they would trade in thy market, the slave trade, human trafficking. It's been around forever. Right? So they have the house of Togarmah. They feel that this is possibly Armenia and or Turkey, those of Targa Targama traded in the fairs with horses and horsemen and mules. And so you got all these different places that you go to to get these various goods that people had, and it's a wonderful thing to be able to raise something and be good at something and be able to sell it, put it in the market, get a return on your investment. I think of people today, probably really wise to have five or 10 acres and raise some cattle and then eat one and sell four, sell five each year. Do stuff like that because we need a lot of meat. We need good meat, and we don't want the poison meat of Bill Gates. So the men of Dedan, some would say this is Arabia, Sheba and Dedan. Others would say further down is the real Dedan. They were merchants. Many coastlands were the merchandise in thine hand, and they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and of ebony. So what are horns of ivory? Elephant Elephant tusk. Yes. Did your bible say there you knew that? I knew that. And what's ebony? Dark wood. Hardwood. Really dark hardwood. Yes. You got it right. Okay. Syria, which is Aram, was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making. They trade in the in the fairs with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and algae. And so this is fabric, a lot of fabric, different colors of fabric, and gems, different types of gems and all. So you get that from Aram area of Syria. And then now it comes to Judah. So even Judah and Israel were one of the 24 trade partners or two of the 24 trading nations with them. And, mention the wealth, the wealth of Tyre, the wealth of doing this. Just phenomenal. They get a cut on everything and, middlemen. So Judah and the land of Israel, their merchants, they traded in the market of wheat. So Judah is able to bring forth grain of minneth and panning and honey and oil and balm, and so a food production. And Israel still today is a prolific food provider for Europe and blossoming the honey, the sweets, the sweet foods and breads and cakes and things like that they're able to produce. Damascus was thy merchant and the multitude of thy wares of thy making for thy multitude of all the riches and the wine of and white wool. So you take the sheep and you gotta produce the wool, all the fabrics. And remember also in the Mideast here, they're very, they're known for oriental rugs. When we went to Turkey, these oriental rugs, these really tight knotted, rugs that they make with all sorts of colors and dyes and different things can sell for enormous amount of money, you know, here in America today and and the good ones. I used to clean them on the wealthy people in California when I used to clean rugs. And sometimes there a rug would come in that was from China, and it would have unstable dyes. So if you get a rug with unstable dyes, it means it runs. It means you're in trouble. But the good rugs from the Mideast pardon me? The Persian ones, they're like bulletproof. You could take a hose. In fact, they do. They put them on a a truck concrete area, and they hose them down super wet. And then they take and they take, like, a squeegee, they push real hard on it to push all that mud and all that dirt that's down in there like that. And then they have things that beat it, you know, as it hangs and then dryers. And and, anyway, it's it's kind of an art, the rug cleaning of these things. And you wanna be careful because you don't wanna have to buy one if if you clean them. You know? So, anyway, the lord blessed me on that. That one, I didn't I didn't destroy any of those. I did destroy a brand new virgin marble floor one time. Virgin white marble floor, all grained and everything. Beautiful, beautiful floor. And I really didn't know what I was doing. And my supplier told me to go in there with this and take your abrasive, you know, very abrasive pad and take all that shine off of it. And then and then put this product on it, and it'll be able to grip to it and make it real nice and shiny. That hurts to hear that. And so uneven. You can't imagine. Marble marble virgin marble has hard parts and soft parts, and so it comes polished. And so it was polished when I when I was there. All the guy wanted me to do was to seal it. And so, anyway, I totally blew it. Oh my god. Boy, I can still see that guy's face looking at me. Oh my god. But god gave me a guy, a different guy, that was really smart and helped me, and it cost me, I remember, $600. And they went in there, and they polished it. They brought some diamond type means of polishing that marble back up to beautiful, you know, condition and then sealed it properly. And so save me to death. I I don't think I ever did one again after that. I got all sorts of horror stories, but we'll keep going. I I did a a lady in Laguna Beach. I I cleaned her sofas, and I I put them on a trailer and brought them back to my shop because that's the way my buddy my mentor told me to do it. But what they didn't tell me is how you strap sofas down on a trailer. I use rope. And as I was heading home, the rope split the fabric. This is horrible. It's hard to make a living when you're as stupid as I am. It's really hard. Life is much tougher for stupid people. It's really it's it's much tougher. I told Vicky yesterday, I told her and Rob that, you know, they're like in the nerd club, really smart kind of people. And Kathy and I, we were never invited in the nerd club. We had to try and get by on our looks, you know. So and as you get older, you lose the look. So now you got the stupid and the ugly. Boy. It's not easy. Life's I think I think John Wayne had a quote like that. Life's tough. It's even tougher for stupid people. Right? Alright. So hardwoods, all this fabric and all this stuff makes me think of the business I was once in when I did. I did hardwood floors. The those those, I did good. Those, they wanted me bad. And alright. So Syria, Judah, Damascus, Vidan, Ajivan going to and fro trade in the fairs brought iron, cacia, calamus were in in thy market. So the cacia is cinnamon. Calamus is a fragrant cane, and we like spices. Right? We get spices from all over the world. It wouldn't be nice to have everything that was organic and real instead of everything synthetic like we have today. Was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots, and so these are the wealthy people would need some loose clothes, and so we would we would probably call this, if you're in Hawaii, we'd call it a muumuu. If you're here in The States, we'd say it'd be stretchy pants. Right? Need some stretchy pants. You need some loose clothes to get up in the chariot, to get up in the four by four wheel drive. You hey. My my Stretchy pants. My my pants are too tight. They're gonna split. I need some stretchy pants. You know? So so Arabia and all the princes of Qidar traded with Ian lambs. Oh, here's my buddy's lambs. You ever had a shawarma? Anybody ever had a shawarma? Oh, isn't it the greatest? So they do falafel when you go over there to Israel. Falafel. Go for a shawarma. A shawarma is like this sheep on a spit, and it's spinning around. It's the heat's coming up, and, oh, man, they take that off. They take they cut a piece off for you, and then they put it in like a tortilla kind of a thing. That's a shawarma and, oh, it's to die for. When you go to Mexico, they have meat on a spit like that, and flies are everywhere. Everywhere. But it's okay because they take and they they cut it off there, they put it on the flame and kill any of the eggs or whatever. And Kathy Kathy Kathy would not eat on our Mexico mission trip. We were there for two weeks. She would not eat the tortoise. She wouldn't eat it. And tortoise, like some of that meat I described, it's put on this really soft bun. And then about two or three days before we're heading home, she had one, and, man, she just couldn't stop. She just tortoise. Yeah. She got hooked. But there's there's always that you're gonna get Montezuma's revenge. You're gonna get a a parasite, and it's gonna stay with you in your belly for quite a while and in your digestive track, and you're gonna be really sad what you bring home from China or Mexico or some of these mission trips the kids go on. Brittany Brittany got some parasites, and Wayne if that ever happens to you, Wayne had her do a cayenne pepper cayenne pepper and charcoal and diatomaceous earth that cuts it up. Alright. So you gotta know that. So loose clothes, Arabian, all the princes of all the princes of Kedar, the end with the lambs and the rams and the goats, and these were they thy merchants. So beautiful carnivore food, amazing food. Friend of mine loves Clive loves goats. I've never eaten goat, but lamb oh, man. Rams. I'm getting hungry right now. Now notice there's no salads. There's no mention of any any salads there. Maybe the shelf life, it doesn't last very long. The merchants of Sheba and Rama were they merchants, and they traded in thy fairs with the with the best of all spices and with all the precious stones and gold. Man, gold, stones, gems, all these different things. And so the market when we were in Turkey, they have a a a huge one of the biggest outdoor markets there is, like a big bazaar, a swap meet they call them, and everybody's setting up their booths and everything. So all these merchants come in there and have all these things to sell. So Haran and Kena and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asher, and Chilmud were thy merchants. So this area of Mesopotamia where Abraham came out of, or we would know it better today as Iraq and Syria also. These were the merchants and all the sorts of things in blue blue clothes and embroidered work and in chests of, rich apparel, bound with cords and made of cedar among thy merchant merchandise. So this is for people that wanna dress like me and really slick. You know? And so they have these chests, these treasure chests and carpets and and such. And so some of the higher end clothes, Armani suits, I guess, and GQ magazine. So the ships of Tarshish now these ships of Tarshish, Spain, these were like container ships. These were extra big ships, fleets of ships, also bringing goods from Europe to Tyre and back and forth, you know, the same way. They did sing of thee in the market, and and thou was replenished and made very glorious in the midst of the seas. And so world renowned, extremely famous, as merchants, as as seamen, as, bringing goods and services, you know, to all over the world. And so in twenty six to thirty six, this part, we're gonna see a shipwreck. This is where they've become shipwrecked. So thy rowers have brought thee into great waters. East wind has broken thee in the midst of the seas. So this is a picture of Babylon from the East coming in and destroying them, causing them to become shipwrecked. So you're sunk is what it's saying there. Thy riches and thy fares, and thy merchandise, and thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy caulkers, and thy traders of thy merchandise, and all the men of war that are in thee, and all thy company which is in the midst of thee shall fall into the midst of the sea in the day of thy ruin. So you're sinking. You're sinking. Is America going up or down? Down. So we are a sinking economy. Right? And that's what he's saying. You have a sinking economy. All that was there, all that was working, working so well. We have demonic people saying you can't drill for oil in Texas. There's more oil in Texas, you know, that would have enough oil energy for America for over two hundred years, but you can't you know, you're not allowed to do it. Biden's trying to make it so that you can't do any offshore drilling, none of the rigs that are off of the coast, California, whatever to to drill. Trump says he'll reverse that. But all in the name of being green, going green. You know? But China's not going green anytime soon, are they? All over The Middle East, they're not going green. They're gonna drill, baby, drill. And, Russia's not going green. So, basically, what you're doing is you're transferring wealth. You're you're you're not drilling, but you still need oil and and petroleum and gasoline and diesel and all that. So by you buying it from somebody else, it builds up their economy. And then your, your merchants, your manufacturing, everything here that would sustain you, you know, you have to you don't get to do it. You don't get to do it. So you're gonna go down to your standard of living. It's gonna go down. So I guess we've taken high-tech Silicon Valley where we're gonna lead the world in AI technology. So they shall enter the midst of the seas and the day you ruin, The pasture land shall shake at the sound of the cry of the pilots. So the tremendous loss, the sinking economy, and all that handle the oar, the mariners, and the pilots of the sea shall come down from their ships, and they shall stand upon the land. So they're going to they're going to reach the shore. These are those that are gonna abandon ship. They're gonna abandon ship when things get tough, when a storm comes in, when the boat begins to fill with water. I've got another story. Andy and I used Andy and I used to go out in this little boat, this little skiff in Newport Harbor, catch in Bonita, and mill multimillion dollar boats all around us, and the two of us would take it off the top of his car. We'd run it down to the cross where the kids are swimming, hop in it, take a British British outboard motor. He'd sit in the back by the motor, and I'd sit up front. Well, this particular boat, had a bad name on the back of it. They called it anyway, I won't tell you what they called it. But, but, anyway, it's all about catching fish. And so we had a coffee can in there because this it was a wood boat and the slats, water would shoot up. And, so that's kinda funny when you're got a pole in one hand, multimillion dollar people there, and you don't belong there, but they can't stop you from being there. And the fish, there's the the the bait the bait barge out toward the mouth of the harbor. Go out there and get bait. And so you're going back and forth trolling by these houses. Like, the houses there now are $50,000,000. You know, their boats are, I don't know, $7.08, $9.10 millions, 3,000,000, 2,000,000, whatever. And you're going back and forth, and you're catching fish, but you're also my job was to take the coffee can and keep bailing. So I'm bailing water. Because if you stop bailing water, your feet are in water. Your feet are down in the bottom in water. So that's called abandoned ship. When it starts to take on water, these mariners are gonna abandon ship and wanna get to the land is what they're wanting. But we we had it dialed. We had it dialed in. And nothing kept us from having fun. And so so now they're they're standing upon the land, and they shall cause their voice to be heard against thee. So seven different things here in the point of grieving. Seven areas of grieving as a result of a sinking ship. The pride of the fleet was sunk, and they they're starting to mourn. People are mourning. And they shall cause their voices to be heard against thee. Number one. Number two, and they shall cry bitterly, and they shall cast up dust upon their heads. That's number three. Number four, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes. Man, they're really bummed out, aren't they? And they shall make themselves utterly bald. Part of the grieving process would they would shave their heads in mourning. And we we have empathy, sympathy for friends of ours, family who go through chemo and and they lose their hair. And so many cases out of love will will shave our heads. And in this case here, it's an expression. They're letting everybody know that they're in the time of of mourning. And and gird them with sackcloth. So they're putting on they're taking off their nice clothes. They're putting on the clothes that are prickly, clothes of mourning, like we would say, like a gunny sack. Guy put on a gunny sack. And they they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing. So the loss that's taken there, people just mourning and wailing. And their their wailing, they shall take up lamentation for thee and lament over thee saying, what city is like Tyre, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea? Now that phrase reminds you of the book of Revelation. Right? What city is like Babylon? Right? So turn to Revelation chapter 18. Somebody well, I won't need to turn there, but somebody read Revelation eighteen nine, and somebody read the same person read Revelation eighteen eighteen. The kings of the earth who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her. That's deliciously. Verse nine. Yeah. With her shall bewail her and lament for her when they shall see the smoke of her burning. What was the next one? So that's the cry of the monarchs, the cry of the kings. Right? Mhmm. And the next one was And read verse 10 too. Verse 10. Sorry. Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city, for in one hour is thy judgment come. In verse 11, read that one, the cry of the merchants. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her for no man buyeth their merchandise anymore. And then read the cry of the mariners in verse, 17 to 19. For in one hour, so great riches is come to naught, and every ship mess master and all the companies in ships and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, what city is like unto this great city? And they cast dust on their heads and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, alas, alas, that great city wherein were made rich, all that had ships in the sea by reason of her coastlines. For in one hour is she made desolate. Alright. So presently, we watch, big container ships come in from China and other countries, but primarily China. And, we gave them all the technology for manufacturing to make everything, and then we go to Costco. And we go to Costco, we buy all the stuff, the Chinese overseas trading company, and, everything's fine. But there's a day coming where those ships, won't be coming, and we won't be going to Costco. If the economy goes down, we're gonna lose our buying power of being able to buy all these goods and everything. And and one day, the whole world, commercialism is gonna end when the lord allows a huge earthquake to take place at Babylon. And who knows what else, but the destruction of the final bold judgment, the destruction of Babylon, the city of Babylon, and the Babylonian system of religion and of commerce is gonna be destroyed. Now fascinating for me is if you were to write this down, I told you to write this down on Sunday, and anybody on Facebook write this down. This is so fascinating because Babylon is literally being rebuilt right now. And if you go to AIFAW Port, Google it, whatever, AIFAW Port, you will see the Guinness Book of World's Record off of Southern Iraq. They're building a port that's a a record for how big it is, you know, being built. And not only that, but roads because you think of the Silk Road, you think of distribution of all these goods. So these goods come into Tyre, then they have to travel by land, and they would travel up Jerusalem, remember, and taxes paid. So you have road corridors. You have today, they're also building these huge roads. They're building rail systems. So a lot of the containers that come off the ocean, come off the water, can directly go on to railroads like you do here, and they'll go on rails to other cities, to other places. So Turkey's in on it. Saudi Arabia's in on it. Iraq is the focal point, the number one place that they like. Now also canals. In Egypt, a lot of commerce, a lot of oil, a lot of goods are brought through the Suez Canal, the Panama Canal. Presently, they're building canals. They're building canals for distribution from India coming down. India's gonna bring goods in. China's gonna bring goods in. It's gonna distribute all through Turkey on on into Europe and everything. So it this whole distribution system's being built right now in Iraq. Even the Euphrates River, they're considering, building it wider and building a canal along the Euphrates River too, because Babylon proper is along the, you know, the Euphrates. So the merchants are looking from afar off, and it's 60 miles away, but they're gonna see the smoke billowing from the Antichrist headquarters, which is Babylon. Do you see that? And it's just absolutely fascinating because because if you've been a student of bible prophecy for any time, you'll notice that the guys shift back and forth from Babylon being symbolic. Like many have said that New York City, the stock market, is where Babylon's gonna crash. You know? Babylon's gonna crash. It's the economic center of the world. So if New York's economic center of the world or the city of London, but then others have held off and said, no. Babylon one day is gonna literally be rebuilt, and they have to and they look foolish while they're saying that, but, it's not looking so foolish anymore. And you're not hearing about it. You're not hearing about it. But let me tell you, if you go online there and look at the aerial shot and see read the articles, the billions and billions and billions of dollars that are going in, you're gonna understand that much of the wealth of the world is gonna shift to the East. It's gonna go from west to East, and you're gonna see huge buildup of Israel, the wealth it has, and all of the Mideast there in the near future. And and the antichrist, his headquarters again in Babylon and also going to Jerusalem to from a religious standpoint. So, anyway, that's that's one of my favorite areas of prophecy there. And so verse 33. And when the waves went forth out of the seas, thou filled many people thou did enrich the kings of the earth with multitudes of your riches and of your merchandise. So in the time when thou shalt be broken by the sea and the depths of the waters, the merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall. So complete collapse of the economy. Everything that's on the ship's gonna collapse, gonna go into the sea. And all the inhabitants of the coastland shall be appalled at thee, and their king shall be very much afraid, and they shall be troubled in their in their countenance. So who's next? It could happen to them. It could happen to us. The supply chains are are cut off and that fear should bring forth repentance. Repent now. And the merchants among the people shall hiss at thee. Thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be anymore. So not gonna be rebuilt anymore. Absolutely amazed. They're gonna be blown away. And and now we wanna turn to Acts chapter 27. Acts 27. So what's it mean to be shipwrecked? What's it mean to be shipwrecked in your faith? You crash. You sink. You you're going along okay, and then for some reason, you take your eyes off the Lord, you get off track, you got a crazy pilot at the helm like me, and he dashes you on the rocks. And And so the apostle Paul been shipwrecked three times in second Corinthians eleven twenty five, and he talked about being shipwrecked in second Timothy. Hymenaeus and Alexander, he had to deliver over because they they wouldn't listen, And because of their unbelief, they became shipwrecked. He says, holding faith and a good conscience with some having put away concerning faith have made shipwrecked, of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander whom I have delivered unto Satan that they may, learn not to blaspheme. So we have people that we love, and we don't want them to be shipwrecked in their faith. We want them to get through the tough seas, the tough times, the storms of life. And as a pastor, it deeply deeply grieves me when I see somebody being seduced, being, taken off course. And, you know, and I know that if they stay in the boat, they're gonna be okay. If they just stay in the boat, they're gonna make it to shore. They're gonna survive. But if they if they don't stay in the boat, if they don't keep believing as I said, Paul's had three shipwrecks. We we at times in our could have a marriage that's shipwrecked. Our family could be shipwrecked. Our job shipwrecked. But we as Christians, if we stay in the boat, if we stay in Christ, we're gonna get to shore. He's gonna get us to the desired haven. He's gonna get us to the destination that he wants to. Along the way, there may be difficulty like Paul, experienced. But in chapter 27 down at verse 14, actually, go to verse nine. Now when much time was spent and when the sailing was now dangerous because the fast was now already passed, Paul admonished them and said unto them, sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with much injury and much damage, not only of the cargo and of the ship, but also of our lives. So Paul is being taken to Rome by one of the centurions, and they put him on a merchant ship filled with grain, and 276 souls. 276 people are on this ship, and they're trying to get around the horn of Africa before the, huge storms come. And it might be commodious, King James worm word to wait out the winter and stay in this desired haven, but these shipmates, these shipmasters, they wanna push. They wanna press, and and they wanna keep going. Nevertheless, the centurion believed the master. So Paul has a word from the Lord, but the centurion believed the master of the ship. And nevertheless, the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship more than those which were spoken by Paul. And because the haven was not commodious, there's our word, to winter in, the greater part advised to depart there also, and if by any means they might attain to Phoenicia, and remember the Tyre is Phoenicia. They were Phoenicians. Right? They came from Phoenicia. And thereto winter, which is a haven of Crete. And so the Philistines were of Crete, and the Phoenicians Tyre and the and the Philistines were both from this area, Phoenician sailors, and the lies toward the Southwest and Northwest. And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing from thee and sailed close by Crete. So you've got everybody's an expert. All of a sudden, it's a democracy. All of a sudden, it's a vote. You got the merchants. You got the owners. You would think the owners of the ship had the greatest authority. Right? They own the ship. They're the ones most at at risk. You got the centurion there, military guy, and and then you got this this Christian, and he says, I think that we should hang out here. Nobody's gonna listen to the Christian. Right? So but not long after, there arose against a tempestuous wind called Euroclydon. So this is a, typhoon type wind. So they they were deceived. It was first, it was low winds. It looks like we're gonna make it. We're gonna go. We're gonna push off from this harbor, and we're gonna take a risk. We're gonna get out there, and now they've got the Uruclyden. They've got the big baby coming after them, a typhoon wind. And when the ship was caught and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. And running under the lee of a certain island, which was called Cauda, we had much work to secure the boat, which when they had hoisted it, they used helps undergirding the ship. And so these are made out of wood, and it's wood strips, and it's starting to starting to rattle. So they take rope, and they bring it all the way underneath it, and they try to tighten it to hold the ship together. Right, Ram? Mhmm. Trying to hold these are helps. And they're trying to hold the ship together. And remember, Paul has been shipwrecked three times. He talked this is one this is one of them. It's not fun. Which when they had hoisted it up, they used helps undergirding the ship and fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, they struck sail, and were so driven. So this is a ship's graveyard of this quicksand area where you can, be dashed upon the rocks and get caught in an area where your the keel gets stuck in the soft sand, and you can't get around the northern, major part of the Horn Of Africa. And so, they would use frappings, is what it's called, and, and make it tight. And so they wanted to get around the Northern Africa, the major Northern Africa area. And when being exceedingly tossed with the tempest of the next day, they lighten the ship. So what's the most heaviest commodity there? Gold. My gosh. Gotta throw the gold overboard. Right? Skin for skin, all that a man has will he give for his life. So they lighten the ship, And the third day was cast out with our own hands the tackle of the ship. And so they're getting rid of all the extra stuff that they don't need to to sail that ship. And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared and no small tempest lay on it, us all, hope that we should be saved was taken away. So now they're fearing they're gonna go over the edge of the flat earth. They're gonna just go over the edge. They don't know which way they're going. They have a very difficult time here. And now sailors reach in a place of despair. The disciples were fishermen, and they're on the Sea Of Galilee, and a storm comes up on the Sea Of Galilee. These are hardened fishermen, and they're fearing for their life. Right? You remember that? And Jesus said, peace be still, and all the wind and the waves are still. Right? Because Jesus was in that boat. You always wanna stay in the boat with Jesus until he says go. But after being long without food, Paul stood forth in the midst of them and said, sirs, you should have hearkened to me. And you know what I'm gonna say in the month of January and February? You guys should have listened to me. When you see the true Trump coming up, obviously, we all had to vote for him. I'm not gonna throw that in your face. But all these people you guys didn't do this. All these people that worshiped him, built him up, when they see reality bite the next couple months, I'm gonna feel like Paul right here. You should've listened to me. You should at least know that this is going to globalism. That's where we're going. If you'd have read your bibles, you should have hearkened unto me and not have loosed from Crete. Those Cretans are lazy gluttons. And and not have gained this this harm and loss. And so you see Paul's leadership in the time of crisis starting to emerge. And and now I exhort you to be of good cheer for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but only of the ship. Oh, boy. Only of the ship. For there stood by me this night an angel of God angel of God, a messenger, whose I am and whom I serve. Paul says, I belong to God, and I serve God, and God sent a messenger to speak to me. And what's he gonna say? Fear not. Get a concordance. Get in your bible program. Type in fear not or be not afraid and see how many times the Lord speaks to you and I to fear not, to be not afraid. Only reason he has to say it is because we're afraid. And I would be too. I'd be afraid, especially if I had loved ones. It seems like when you're by yourself, there isn't that much fear. But when you got a wife and kids and little ones and grandkids, know, you you begin to worry. You begin to concern yourself like, oh my gosh. And so, anyway, you can't allow fear to paralyze you. You've gotta trust. You've gotta have faith. So fear not. Have faith. Faith is the opposite of fear. Right? So be of good cheer for they shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but only of the ship. For there stood by me this night an angel of God whose I am and whom I serve, saying, fear not Paul, thou must be brought before Caesar. So that's my will for you. You're gonna go before Caesar. And lo, God has given thee all them that sail with thee. 276 souls. Paul's all about the souls. He wants to see the souls of these people come to Christ, and Paul's the one that's interceding for 276 of these souls. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer for I believe God that it shall be even as it was told me. So no need to be fearful. No need to worry. God spoke to me. He's given them a word of knowledge that we're gonna be fine. Nobody's gonna lose their life. However, we must be cast upon a certain island. We're gonna be shipwrecked. But when the fourteenth night was come, couple weeks out there, as we were driven up and down the Adria, about midnight, the sailors deemed that they drew near to, some country. And so they sounded and founded 20 fathoms. So what's it mean to sound, Rob? You drop drop something down. You Yep. Measure with a rope, how long it takes to hit? Well, you you have a rope that's got knots on it, and then you have a weight on the end, and you drop it in. And when you you just know the bottom of your hull is and where that rope hits the bottom, you just keep counting the knots how far down it is. And so here a fathom equals six feet, and they found it 20 fathoms. So it's a hundred and twenty twenty feet. The sailors determined the depth. They didn't have a depth finder, but they had like Rob described. So when they had gone a little further, they sounded again and found at 15 fathoms. So now it's only 90 feet. Then fearing lest they should fall upon the rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern and wish for the day. So they got four anchors out there, and now they're hoping. They're hoping that the morning sunlight will come up and and that they'll be able to see and be able to determine, you know, better. It's dark. They can't see anything. And as the sailors were about to flee out of the ship when they had let down the boat, so they took the little the little lifeboats. The sailors grabbed hold of the lifeboat and dropped them down for themselves into the sea under pretense as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship. So they got anchors off the back. Now they're saying we're gonna secure some anchors in the front. They're lying. Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, except these abide in the ship, you cannot be saved. Except you stay in Christ. All those that were in the ark, they were saved. Unless you stay if you try to flee on your own, you're gonna die. It's gonna jeopardize the whole Michigan, to jeopardize everything. So wait for the Lord's deliverance. Sometimes it's so hard in the midst of the storm to wait for the Lord's deliverance. We're so impatient. We're in panic mode, and we'll just do whatever somebody tells us without praying, without asking the Lord. What's next, Lord? Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat and let her fall off. We're committed. So when when the conquistadors came to Mexico, What's the leader of the conquistadors from Spain that came to Mexico? History? Close. Cortez. Cortez. Cortez. Cortez. When Cortez came to the shores of Mexico, he had his guys burn the boats. Now what's that do? You burn the boats. That means there's no fleeing. There's no surrender. You either win this battle, there's no going back. So how committed do you think his soldiers were? Right? And so Paul's saying, we're committed. We're committed to staying in Christ, staying in the ship, staying no matter what. Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, Job said. There's no fleeing. And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them to take food saying, this day is the fourteenth day that you have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. So he knows they're weak. Wherefore I beseech you to take some food for this is for your health, for there shall not a hair of your head of any of you. So not a hair of your head is gonna be lost. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread and gave thanks. So the priority is the spiritual. Before they all ate, he gave thanks, took bread and he broke it, and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all. And when he had broken it, he began to eat. And so Jim reminded us the other day that if we pray over our food, no matter what bugs or no matter what they put in your food, you pray over the food and you trust the Lord, you're gonna be okay. But don't put God to the test. Alright? Don't be eating crickets and all that stuff. But you buy a burger, you buy a steak, you buy something, you go to restaurants, it's risky because Bill Gates is putting, you know, the the vaccine stuff in all the food now, especially pork. So what are we supposed to do? And, like I told you, I got a friend of mine, Eric Irwin, his his wife Karen, her parents are in their nineties, and they've taken every shot, Every single one. Boosters, everything. They're current with every single shot and they don't get sick. How's that work? They must pray over their food. They must pray over it because they're they're godly believers. And we're gonna die right on time. So the bread gave thanks to God in the presence of all them and when they had broken it, they began to eat. Then were they all good cheer and they also took some food. And when we're all in the ship, 276 souls. Now remember when Abraham came back from with 316 of his men, and they defeated the Cheddalemur and all the kings that were coming against Sodom and Gomorrah, and he was going to rescue Lot. You remember that of the spoil, the first thing he did of the spoils, he gave 10% tithes of all to Melchizedek, and he also broke bread with him, and he and he had communion with him. And then he after that, the king of Sodom came to him and said, hey. Keep the spoil. You're you're gonna have the stuff. I want the souls. So on the other side of the equation, the devil wants the souls. The devil wants the souls of men to take them to hell, and Abraham didn't want the spoil or any of it for for the king of Sodom to say he made Abraham rich and all. But remember, the devil wants the souls of people too. He wants to shipwreck them in their faith. He wants to take them to hell. And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship and cast out the wheat into the sea. So all the all the everything that's in there is being cast out. And when it was day, they recognized not the land, but they discovered a certain creek. Boy, they were up the creek too. With a shore into which which they were minded and if it were possible to thrust in the ship. So they're they're got this here, the Salt Creek area, and they wanna be able to take whatever ability they have before they hit the ground, and they wanna be able to ram the ship as close to shore and follow, the creek up. So when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves under the sea and loose the rudder bands and hoisted up the main sails to the wind and made towards shore. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground, and the bow stuck fast and remained unmovable. And remember when we watched Robinson Crusoe? And you guys watched that? Mhmm. And the ship was stuck there and same sort of thing. And and the stern was broken with violence of the waves, so the waves are still crashing. And and the soldiers' council was to kill the prisoners, lest that any of them should swim out and escape. But the centurion willing to save Paul kept them from their purpose and commanded that they those who could swim should cast themselves first into the sea and get to the land. And here's where your first time you'll see surfing in the Bible. And the rest, some on boards and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass that all escaped safely to the land. Isn't that great? I love that. So how is it Hymenaeus and Alexander became shipwrecked in their faith? They left the boat. They quit believing. And Paul says, now to the king eternal and visible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, so is his protege, according to the prophecies which went on thee, that thou by they might war a good warfare. Fight the good fight, Timothy. Earnestly contend for the faith. Prove all things. Hold fast that which is good. Try the try the spirits whether they be of God. Paul's able to say at the end of his life, I fought a good fight. I finished my course. I kept the faith. Right? That's what it's all about. Holding faith in a good conscience, which some having put away, concerning faith have made shipwrecked. They got off track. They got into flat earther stuff and crazy weird rabbit holes and took their eyes off of Jesus. Who knows if they're gonna make it? Who knows if they're gonna keep believing or how far down the rabbit hole or over the edge they're gonna continue to go? Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered unto Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme. So Jesus said, wipe the dust off your feet. Paul says, I delivered them over, Hymenaeus and Alexander, to Satan that they might learn. So in first Corinthians five, the two that were proud of their relationship, the the man that took his father's wife, they were excommunicated. And what that means is they're excommunicated the sense of giving over to Satan, the destruction, the beating that comes on them so that they'll come to repentance. So they'll get back in the boat. They'll get back in the fold and quit forcing their own opinions and and stay with the word of God. Just simply stay with the word of God and learn not to blaspheme. What that means is they're resisting the holy spirit. Hymenaeus and Alexander went their own way. They jumped ship. They're in rebellion, and they're blaspheming in the sense that they're resisting the holy spirit. You don't wanna be there. You don't wanna be shipwrecked in your faith. And as a pastor, as a Christian, as a friend, that's why there's the alarm in your heart. You're concerned about people, how far they're gonna go, and if they go too far, will they shipwreck their faith? Will they quit altogether? How much longer will they hold on, you know, trying to do it on their own? Alright. Let's pray. Father, thank you. And that I've made everybody angry on Facebook, I'm sure. But, Lord, it's okay. I'm not on Facebook, and I blocked everybody. It's okay. And so, Lord, I just pray that you part your holy spirit and help us to be led to be led by your spirit, that you continue to guide us into all truth, Lord. And we lift up the the friends and the family, the people we know. We pray to Lord, none of them be shipwrecked that just as Noah and his family were saved by being in Christ, so too we, Lord, will remain in Christ and not impose upon the text or impose upon the truth of your word any kind of out outer influence, Lord, but that we would be expositors, that we would exercise an exegesis, exeget the text that we would that which we're interpreting would come from the text, that we not eiseges, that we not impose upon the text opinions of people. So help us learn to be good students of your word, Lord. The blind leading the blind are certainly gonna fall into the ditch. But, Lord, our eyes are upon you because you're the author and the finisher of our faith, Lord. So continue to help us grow in the grace and knowledge of you. Bless, we pray. In Jesus' name, amen.
