And tomorrow, we're gonna go to the Grand Canyon, and we're gonna do a podcast, and we're gonna explain how all those different layers got there so quickly. And tonight, Ezekiel 14, and let's pray. Father, we come before you, and we thank you for the nice time that we get to spend here out in the desert. And I thank you for the nice little rain and remind us of home, not too much of home. And just thank you for the nice fellowship and food and scenery and just your creation, Lord. It's so amazing, the things that you've created. And Lord, we pray that the paganism not pollute or discolor or not allow people to really see the brilliance of who you are as in your creation, as depicted in your creation, Lord. So bless tonight. Help us to be led by you, Lord, and teach us and build us up and strengthen us in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Alright. Ezekiel. Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me and sat before me. And the word of the Lord came unto me saying, son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, idols in the heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face. Should I be inquired of at all by them? So why talk to them? Why should I even talk to them when God who sees our heart, God can see that in Genesis six, the thoughts and intents of man's heart was only evil continually in Genesis six, and God used the Noahic flag to, you know, wipe out that antediluvian age. And the Lord saw that Noah was perfect in his generations. And the Lord compelled Noah as a preacher of righteousness for a hundred and twenty years to get people into the boat, and the people wouldn't get in the boat. They wouldn't get into Christ by their own choice. And but eight people got in there with Noah, and we know the story from Sunday school. God caused it to rain for over forty days or forty days, and it flooded the entire earth. And after a year, the Lord allowed Noah and his family to get out of the ark onto the earth, and Noah was perfect in his generations. Excuse me. Which means that he wasn't perfect morally, but we'll see here in our text here, God God cites him as being a very righteous man. And his faith imputed him for righteousness. And but he was perfect in the sense that he had a pure DNA because the sons of God were cohabitating with women and polluting the DNA of of human beings. And the prophecy in Genesis three fifteen, the seed of the woman, the virgin born son of God, that the Messiah would be a man. So Satan from the very beginning has been trying to corrupt the word and trying to corrupt the human DNA even at the end of the age. Still trying. So God preserved human DNA because the Messiah would be the son of man, Jesus Christ. And and so God is looking at the hearts of these elders in the time of apostasy of the nation of Israel. And there's false prophets who are saying, oh, nobody's gonna destroy Jerusalem. Everything's gonna be okay. And God's sending Isaiah, sending Jeremiah, sending Ezekiel, Hosea, and others to alert the nation because God's long suffering, he's not willing if any would perish, that all would come to repentance. So he's not quick to judge. Jeremiah preached for forty years, and people wouldn't listen. So here we have Ezekiel. He's been taken captive in part of the captivity to Babylon already in May. I gotta get a drink here. In May, Nebuchadnezzar will put a siege upon Jerusalem. Nebuchadnezzar's headquarters in the area called Riddla, which is a few miles away over toward Jericho that he has his encampment. God's using Ezekiel to try and get through to the people that their only escape is through repentance. Their only escape is to admit that they're going the wrong way, to turn. So he takes the elders, he takes the pastors, the leaders, the spiritual leaders, and he he begins to produce, he begins to show, expose how difficult it is outwardly as hypocrites. Jesus looked at the religious leaders of his days, and he said that there are white wall sepulchers on the outside, but inside they're full of dead men's bones. So God sees the heart. Everything's naked and open before the eyes with whom we have to do and can't hide anything from Him. So if God were to expose your heart and my heart, that'd be a very dangerous thing because Jeremiah seventeen nine says, the heart's deceitful above all things. The most deceitful thing out there is my heart and desperately wicked. Who can know it? The good news is when we come to Christ Jesus, he gives us a new heart. And with that new heart, He does not expose us of the old. That's the whole point of forgiveness. He takes our sins and He casts from the east to the west, and He begins a work in our heart, life of transformation, that being confident in this very thing that he has begun a good work, that he will perform it. So we're hoping and looking at that day that not just the outside of the cup would be cleansed, where we go to church and do our hair just right and say all the Christianese and all that good stuff. And but inwardly, we're we're still dealing with idols, idols that we've allowed within our heart. And God would have us crucify the flesh, mortify the deeds of the flesh, take every idol. An idol, what is an idol? Idol is anything that takes the place of God within our heart. Anything that we look to for a master passion within our heart. And we can be, double minded. We can be double hearted. We can be those who say praise the Lord and go to church, and people from the outside think, hey, that's who we are. But God says, hey, I'm looking at your heart. There's some idols raised up in here we need to deal with. You've stunted your growth. You have an arrested state of development. You're not gonna grow in the grace and knowledge of me until we deal, with these idols, within the hearts. And so the inward look and then the outward look. And so he says, their iniquity before their face, should I be inquired at all by them? So God says, why should I even listen, you know, to your prayers? And does God hear the prayers of an unbeliever? Does an unbeliever have access to God? Does a religious person that goes to church each week we just visited church up on the hill there, and it was amazing. But I'm not sure that, you know, you just never know. That's just hard hard to decipher. I mean, even at Calvary Chapel. Calvary Chapel is plural. We've been doing this, Kathy and I, for over thirty years. And we've come across a lot of tears among the weed, a lot of goats among the sheep, a lot of people that think they know God, but in works they deny Him. And just there's no love there. So Kathy and I will go home and she'll say, Rick, I don't think they're saved. I don't think they're saved. It's really hard to reach people spiritually who aren't even saved yet. But they think they are, so you know, you try so hard to pray and try to win them over. So at what point, you know, how much effort do you put into talking to them? That's what God's saying. I've been sending all these prophets to talk to you. What's the point anymore? You've made up you've made up your minds. And therefore, speak unto them. So God's still wanting to reach them. So he's gonna have Ezekiel speak unto them. Therefore, speak unto them and saying to them, thus saith the Lord God, every man of the house of Israel that sets up the idols in his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face cometh to the prophet, I, the Lord, will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols. And so what's happening is the Israelites were instructed to not have any idols, not have anything before the Lord. To love the Lord thy God with all their heart, all their mind, all their soul, all their strength, and to flee from idolatry. And they've been influenced by pagan religious systems around them, and they have little statues. And we, in America still today, have these little statues. It can be my house, it can be a car, it can be pornography. In their day, had images. They had little statues. One time when Kathy and I visited Ephesus in present day Turkey, they would unearth some of the idols that the city of Ephesus was given over to. You remember the apostle Paul, he spent three years there in Ephesus sharing Christ, and great is Diana of the Ephesians. And they'd say that for over two hours, chanting it and all. And they were angry because part of their business model, very lucrative, is making these idols, these little things that people could take home and bow down and worship. And Isaiah the prophet, you know, he'd say, eyes they have, but they don't see. Ears they have, they don't hear. You know, they got mouths, but they can't they can't speak. They got a throat, but there's no voice, you know, coming out of them. Why does a guy go and cut down a tree? And and when he cuts down a tree, he uses some of that wood to, you know, warm himself. He uses another part of the wood to for his cooking. And then there's a third part maybe of the wood that they fashion a little idol, a little statue. And and these these idols, when I saw them in Ephesus, were multi breasted. So they would take this image of Diana of the Ephesians, Aphrodite, or, you know, Belle and Ashtoreth. And so they'd have the the male side and the female side. And it was to stimulate the fleshly aspects of men and incite men and women to a cultic kind of a meeting. And there would be unwanted pregnancies like today when people are worshiping the idols of passion, the idols of sexuality, sensuality. Having sex outside of marriage, you have these unwanted pregnancies. And what do you do with those unwanted pregnancies? Well, they take and they would heat up the arms of Baal, an idol made to Baal, and his arms would be outstretched. And they'd put a fire underneath the arms and they'd get the arms to be red hot. And then they'd take these babies that are born as a result of the worshiping of Baal, the worshiping of Astaroth, the worshiping of these fertility gods and goddesses. And they would put them on the arms of the babies, or on the arms of Baal, these little babies. And we think, how barbaric, how incredibly barbaric. And yet, we have a solution called a saline solution that goes into the womb and burns the babies within the womb. And we have techniques of cutting the babies and cutting them apart before they come out, and when they do come out of the womb. And it's all a result of idolatry. The idolatry of sensuality and living on an animal plane like animals. And that's it's very powerful. It's very strong thing that allures a lot of people. Billions and billions of dollars are made in America with pornography and sex trafficking. And so it continues to this very day. And then outside the city of Jerusalem was an area called Gehenna, Hinnom. And this is an area of a perpetual dump, where everything that was trash like or dead bodies were to be burned there. And so many of these babies and stuff would wind up in the Valley Of Hinnom. Jesus took that picture and said described hell. One of the areas of hell is Gehenna, the Lake Of Fire, the eventual abode of the wicked dead. And so, serious. The children of Israel are caught up into this idolatry. This is why the Lord is bringing judgment upon them. It's affecting their thoughts. It's affecting their actions. It starts with a thought. Comes through the eye gate. The ear gate comes into your heart and mind. And then it is acted out. And when it's acted out, many times it becomes a habitual. You come a slave of these passions, these actions, this idolatry. And Paul reminds us that that which the Gentiles offer under these idols, they're actually offering them unto demons. So there's the occult and the demonic deception behind it, and the people chanting and screaming and making lots of noise so nobody can hear the babies that are being burned upon the arms of Baal. And so every man of the house of Israel that's set it upon his idols in his heart and puts the stumbling block of iniquity before his face. So in their thoughts and in their actions, so thought and action, a habit, which as we said is bondage. You can't quit. And then, so you sow a thought, you reap an action. You sow an action, you reap a habit. You sow a habit, you reap a character. You sow a character, you reap a destiny because of defilement. And you've defiled yourself, you're filthy, your eyes are filthy, and the eyes of the wicked are never full. And God wants our hearts. And He doesn't want a divided heart. He doesn't want to share your heart. And so He doesn't want your money. He doesn't want anything you can give him except your heart. That's what God wants. He purchased you at the cross Of Calvary that you would love him with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, all your strength, and to not be double minded. And so he comes to the prophet, I and the Lord will answer him that comes according to the multitude of his idols. So there's lots of idols here, and it's no new info. You know, they need to repent first. They need to turn from this. And that's the solution. When Josiah became king, young Josiah, grandson of Hezekiah, son of Manasseh, he brought reforms and he got rid of all the Sodomites and all the all the idolatrous temples and things in and around Jerusalem. But in the higher areas, in the groves, they go up into the trees for some reason. The occult loves to be on high mountains and in the trees and in the groves. And here we are in Sedona today. And Sedona is one of the epoch centers of idolatry, the occult. They claim that there's portals here, portals of healing. So today when we're walking around, we see a lot of people from India who are worshippers of Hinduism and Buddhism and New Age and crystals and witches, and all sorts of different false religious systems. And people flock here from all over the world to be healed, or go into the water when it's moving, or have these treatments done to them. And so, we continue to the present day, and on into the tribulation period. We're going see that the whole world is going to be deceived by the devil. And people are going to be given over to sorcerers, or sorcery. And through pharmakeia with the drugs that the pharmaceutical companies are going to make available, are making available. And people are going to have an altered state of consciousness and try to enter into the occult to try and hear from demons, and talk to demons, and listen for demons, and take instructions from demons. And so, we as Christians, we're protected from all that. We have a relationship with the true and living God, and we can boldly come before His throne of grace in our time of need. We don't need to go through any man, or woman, or go around. Jesus has given us access. He says, I'm the way, the truth, the life. No man comes to the Father but by me. So, if you have any idols in your house, the first thing is to clean that house. Get rid of all the idols. When Kathy and I got saved, one of the things she did is she went into her mom's house and got rid of all the occultic things that her mom had accumulated over the years. Sometimes you go and you get a writing. They do a writing up on you, a chart, Ouija boards, a lot of different things that seem innocent. Astrology stuff. And maybe today you're going into artificial intelligence and you're talking to what's her name? Vanessa? Is her name, Hillary? Do you know Hillary? Who is it? Kamala? Kamala? Anyway, the voice that comes out of them is the voice of demons. So you the whole world at one point is going to worship the image of the beast. I'm under attack. Made the demons mad. Sorry about that. This is fresh air here. Yeah. As soon as you expose the enemy, he's gonna try and attack you. So, pastor, that's just a little cold. I know, but it's hard to talk on you. You have the cold then. Alright? So one day, the artificial intelligence is gonna reach a place, Revelation chapter 13, where the whole world is gonna take a mark on the right hand of their forehead and show, obedience. They're gonna show their worship of the image of the beast, and this image of the beast is gonna be an idol under Satan, under Lucifer. So there's gonna be a Luciferian belief system that when we get to Ezekiel 28, and we already saw Isaiah 14, where the devil, a fallen angel, when he fell Revelation 12 says he fell and he pulled 12 or one third of the stars of heaven. So those fallen angels become demons. And these demons work as principalities and powers. And the key issue that they're doing is deception. They're trying to deceive people to the point that they wouldn't see Jesus, that they wouldn't believe in Jesus, that they wouldn't trust in Jesus. And the objective is to break God's heart because God sent the son to die for each one. To break God's heart by taking these people to hell, and the way that they do is through deception. So Jesus said, if you know the truth, the truth will set you free. And so Kathy on the external removed all those things in her mom's house, and then you have to evaluate your heart, the Holy Spirit will help you if you're a believer, a new believer. And the Holy Spirit will say there's some things in your in your life that need to go, that need to be, repented of. You turn from these things and not do these things anymore. So if you have a problem in the area of the flesh in any area of of pornography or alcohol, drugs I met a lot of you guys, and, you know, you've been smoking pot for forty years, it's just a nerve. And and, you know, one of the things you always thank me is that I've confronted you that you need to stop doing that. That that's not an innocent type thing because it's pharmakia. And it's not just an entry level drug, it's a hallucinogenic. And it in of itself, the legalization of marijuana, there may be some medicinal means to it, but it sure can do a lot of damage just itself. It's not necessarily a gateway drug to other drugs, LSD and such. And so, as Christians, I've had many guys come up to me and say that, you know, that they stopped doing it. They don't do it anymore. And that's good because your walk with the Lord will begin to grow. Because a house divided against itself cannot stand, and you can't have light and darkness. And so you're inviting darkness into your life when you defile yourself. You're the temple of the Holy Spirit. And God doesn't want to share your heart with anybody else, or any other stimulation, or whatever. So, we need to allow the Lord to shine the light within our heart of the things that He wants removed, and then pray and ask Him, Lord, remove these things, pull them out by the root, that they not be tormented by them any longer. And be in bondage thereof. He came to set the captives free. So, we know many people that have been freed from alcohol. Alcohol used to be called spirits. So you're involved in the wine, the beer, the stronger drink, strong drink. And there's an altered state of consciousness. And in that altered state of consciousness, you lose your inhibitions, and you'll delve in and do things centrally that normally you wouldn't do. But you also, in many cases, have dreams. And these are windows. You're allowing windows for demons to deceive you, to come into your heart and mind and bring deception. And so, we need the Holy Spirit. We need to stay with the Word of God walk in the spirit and not give in to these things. Romans one twenty eight, you know, you come to a place where you're rejecting the truth, and God says He gives you over to a reprobate mind. You continue to reject the truth on into the tribulation period. And the Lord says because you reject the truth in second Thessalonians two eleven, that he's gonna give you over to a strong delusion that you would believe the lie. You're gonna believe the lie that Satan's propagating that he did in the garden, and that he's presently bringing forth that you can be a god. That you can be as god. That's a demonic deception. But many people are going to go that way. So that I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are estranged from me through their idols. So the spiritual adultery when you have an idol, it's spiritual adultery. You're married to Jesus. You're the bride of Christ, and the nation of Israel is the wife of Jehovah. And he didn't want his nation to be in love with any other woman, with anybody else, with any other man. So we think of estrangement. You're estranged from your husband because of the spiritual adultery. So you can read the story of Hosea with his wife, Gomer, and the Lord uses it as an allegory to describe how his heart is broken because his wife is an unfaithful wife, that of Gomer. But his love for Gomer is such that you know, that Hosea is gonna remarry her, try and restore her and the whole thing even after she goes into prostitution and and that sort of thing. He says there verse six, therefore, saying to the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God, repent. Now that's a word that's left out of the gospel today because it might offend people. So people are allowed to come into the church with all their idols today, with everything the world has to offer, and the Lord has to take a back seat. He has to be outside His church knocking on the door saying, I'd like to have fellowship, but you guys are so consumed with your idols, you can't even hear me knocking. Well, the churches today are more concerned about nickels and noses and people and numbers and such. They're not concerned about quality. They're not concerned about genuine repentance, which means to turn from your sin. And so your heart has this wickedness and you can't clean up yourself, but you make the effort to turn to Christ and say, Lord help me. And as you turn, you exercise your will to turn from these things, saying no to these things. God works in your heart and gives you the capacity to walk in that obedience. And so he says, tell them to repent and turn yourselves from your idols, and turn away your faces from all your abominations. So inwardly, you want to come clean inwardly because God says, I see these idols in your heart. And from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. You can get along with it for a while, fooling people, but, your wife, your family knows who you really are. And there may be a problem with anger. And a lot of times, the anger comes out because you have a problem with pornography. And in that problem of pornography, and drug use, and alcohol, it weakens you. You're a weak man. And in that weakness, you can't even control your own emotions. You can't give yourself over to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. And so, you're you're very weakened. And the devil capitalized upon you in that weakness, and you wind up saying and doing things that you never thought you would say and do. God knows you truly, love your wife, love your kids and such, but you can't do it unless you put God first. You gotta put the Lord first. And when you put the Lord first, then you're gonna be able to love your wife, love your kids, love your family, love those around you. But until you put the Lord first, this isn't a game. God sees your heart. So you got to admit, if we confess our sin, He's faithful and just to forgive us of our sin, and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. So you agree with the Holy Spirit. Man, I got a problem. This this got to go. And so that's the inward. And then he says, and turn away your faces from all your abominations. So then the outward, you get away from the outwardly get away from it. So it might mean you have to have to leave that cult that you're involved in. It might mean you have to leave your job. I had to quit a job one time because I was unequally yoked. Doesn't mean you can't work for people that are unbelievers, but in my case, it was such a dominance. I had to get away from it. But I loved this man and his family. They took me in before I was a Christian, and it really helped me a lot. But I saw my life compromising to make money, and they had a way of making money that wasn't necessarily a way that a a Christian should. And so because he was unsaved, the Bible says, don't be unequally yoked together with an unbeliever. And so in my case, maybe not in your case, but my case, the relationship was so tight, so close that I would have been influenced by him. And I could not be influenced in that way as a young man. And so, the Lord put on my heart that I needed to quit that job. And I resisted the Lord. I didn't want to do it. It was too painful. I owed the the family so much. And so, what the Lord did with me then was I began to get these really heavy headaches, and I never get headaches. But I was getting these terrible, terrible headaches for days. And then finally, I realized, yeah, am hearing from the Lord. And I need to I'm 21 years old, just married, my wife's pregnant. And we got nothing. And I got to trust the Lord. I got to do the right thing. So if I did it at 21, you can do it. And the Lord is so faithful He'll help you, thereafter. And one of the things that I've I've, been thankful for is that the only person I've ever been able to rely upon is God. I've never had partners or people that I can rely upon. It's always been Kathy and I separated unto Jesus, and we'll bank everything on Him no matter how much people leverage us, no matter what happens. We're not gonna allow anybody in our heart and lives to become an idol that we rely upon, that we worship, that we treat differently. We don't schmooze wealthy people. We don't try to get in their graces and market it and manipulate and all that. We just follow the Lord and the Lord provides for us as He sees fit. But we're not for sale, nor are we going to sell Jesus. We're not going to sell Him out for an idol, a place within our heart. Not going to happen. So, turn away your faces from all your abominations. For everyone of the house of Israel, or the foreigner that sojourns in Israel, who separates himself from me. So back down in verse four, that sets up an idol in his heart that puts the stumbling block of iniquity for his face. Lord said, everyone, all of them, if you don't turn, who separates himself from me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts the stumbling blocks of his iniquity before his face and comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning me, I, the Lord, will answer him by myself. So God's getting serious. First things first, this is how I'm going to answer you. In Jude 19, you know, they're sensual. These false prophets prey upon people with their feel good messages. The feel good message is man centered, human centered, and it's directed toward man's senses, how he feels. And so, you can bring the emotions up to where they get goosebumps and they feel giddy, know. You can make them cry. You can stimulate all different facets of people's senses. Covetousness, wanting more, wanting the best life now. All those things are geared toward the heart of man, rather than the heart of God. And so, I need to die. I need to mortify the deeds of the flesh. Need to live like Paul said, I'm crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live. And so, it can't be me being directed by my central appetites to try and satisfy the flesh. The flesh will never be satisfied. I need to live the life of the spirit and allow God in my relationship with Him to satisfy and to fill my heart overflowing. So he says verse eight, I will set my face against that man and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I'll cut him off from the midst of the people, and you shall know that I am the Lord. And so when Choradathon and Abiram rebelled against Moses, God gave a sign. God opened up the ground, swallowed those old boys, and all their family and all. So, you want to know who's in charge? You want to know who God's man is? It's Moses, right? And Moses said that, let's see, let God decide. And so there's times where God will make it real clear who He favors and who He doesn't. The false prophets would like to think that God must be favoring the nation because, look, we haven't been judged yet. Look, the economy is good. Look, things are things are pretty good. Well, God hasn't dropped the hammer yet. He hasn't judged yet. He's sending the prophets to let you know it's coming if you don't repent. And one of the things we need to recognize presently right now, Jesus said, as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the son of man. As it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, so shall it be in the coming of the son of man. What's that mean? They were eating and drinking. They were marrying and giving in marriage. So on this date, on this Monday, everything seems normal. We're in Sodom. Noah's building that boat. Hasn't rained yet. Not one drop. For a hundred and twenty years, people have been listening. And Sodom and Gomorrah has been doing their thing for a long time, and Abraham's interceding. And then there came a day, there came a Tuesday where everything changed overnight, and there was no going back. That's how God's judgment is. He's long suffering, but the tachometer, when he says, I come quickly, behold, I come quickly. It's a it's a it's a term for the tach. The tach is is revving out. Things are happening exponentially faster. The prophecy is coming together, spelling judgment. And so, the glorious good thing for you and I is, if we see the tribulation period, the beast system coming, the AI intelligence, the world rejecting Christ, the UN meeting a couple weeks ago and and negotiating for sovereignty of nations if a big disaster happens, you know, one world government, a one world monetary system, the economy crash, and get the digital currency. When you see those things, you know the beast system is being put in place. And the good news is you also know that the rapture is at the very door. That blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior. So the Lord's saying here, he's talking to these guys about judgment and they can blow it off because it hasn't happened yet. Not entirely. And so Lord says, I'll answer you. And I'll set my face against that man. You're going to be rejected by God. I'll make him a sign and a proverb and I'll cut him off from the midst of my people. And you shall know that I am the Lord. And if the prophet be deceived when he has spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet. And I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. And they shall bear this punishment of their iniquity. The punishment of the prophet shall be even the punishment of him that seeketh unto him. So God's saying here, I'm going to send lying prophets among you. I'm going to deceive the lying prophets. They in turn are going to deceive you. And we're going to be able to determine those that follow me, those that follow God, and those that follow the lies. And so, Paul told Timothy that in the last days, we're going to heap unto ourselves teachers having engineers. So the people are gonna demand teachers that tell them what they wanna hear. Paul goes on to describe that these teachers would bring doctrines of demons. They would bring fairy tales, and they'd have fairies reading stuff, you know, to the kids and all, you know, in school and at the libraries and stuff. The spirit speaks expressly of that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, evil men and seducers waxing worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. And so, how's that happen? The Lord's giving you over. Giving people over that have rejected the truth. He begins to give them leaders after their own hearts. And it's a ripening under judgment. So we're going to look at some verses here that describe this phenomena. It's like a test, it's a test that God gives. Many churches that teach the Bible, can't get people to have an appetite for the Bible. You can't get people to want to study the Bible, or to learn the truth. They've made their mind up of what they believe, and they are looking for confirmation of what they believe. And so, that's what happens, is the pastors begin to tell them what they want to hear. And pacifies them, gives them a false sense of security. And in many cases, they're going to hear in Matthew seven, when they cry out, Lord, Lord, He's going to say, away from me, I never knew you, you that practice iniquity. And so, who wants first Kings twenty two nineteen through 28? Very good good story. First Kings twenty two nineteen through 28. Rob, want that? Thirteen twenty two. 19. Twenty two nineteen through 28. And then Deuteronomy thirteen three for Vicky. And then Jeremiah four ten and Isaiah sixty six four for Kathy. And and so first Kings twenty two nineteen. Now this is so interesting. God's plotting, strategizing, how can I get Ahab to go out into battle and die in battle? And basically, the strategy is, and I think CS Lewis has probably written something about this, is let's use a lying spirit. Let's use a lying spirit to go into the his head and to into his prophets, and that they prophesy lies to him, and then he'll believe those lies, and he'll be led by lies. And Ahab and Jezebel were into the occult. 450 prophets of Baal died with Elijah, and Jezebel, she grabbed hold of 400 of her prophetesses to Ashtoreth, and she secured them, and then she threatened Elijah. And so watch what God does strategy wise. First Kings twenty two nineteen through 28. Then Micaiah said, therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on his throne and all the hosts of heaven standing by on his right hand and on his left. And the Lord said, who persuade Ahab to go up, and he will fall at Ramah, Gilead? So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then the spirit came forward and stood before the Lord and said, I will persuade him. The Lord said to him, in what way? So he said, I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, you shall persuade him and also prevail. Go out and go do so. So how much today that we're hearing in the media is a bullfaced lie. Constant lies. A barrage of lies. Lies, lies, lies. And it just overwhelms people to the point that we say, like Pontius Pilate, what is truth? You know? It's just, is there anything true out there anymore? You know? So the devil, Jesus said, is a liar and a murderer from the beginning. And take heed that no man deceive you. Deuteronomy thirteen three. Thou shall not hearken unto the words of the prophet or that dreamer of dreams, will the Lord your God prove with you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. So the Lord will allow false prophets on YouTube. The Lord will allow false prophets in the churches to test you, to see if you can connect the dots, if you recognize a false prophet, if you love him more than you love, go along to get along. And, and so he'll allow these false prophets, around us. And, the Bereans were more noble because when they heard the apostle Paul teaching, they're more noble because they searched the scriptures to see whether those things be so rather than that of Thessalonica. So, we're to be Bereans. We're to check things out. So be very careful of the YouTube prophets. Everybody prophesying what's gonna happen next and this, that, and the other. And when it doesn't come to pass, the Bible says that they're false prophets. And why do they get a free pass to go on to the next sensationalizing various events and generalizations and books and all that sort of stuff? And it's it ruins the thirst that many people have for true prophecy and connecting the dots in a true manner. So Jeremiah four verse 10. Then said I, oh, Lord God, surely thou hast greatly deceived his people in Jerusalem, you shall have peace, whereas the sword reaches under the soul. So the people are deceived into thinking peace, peace by the false prophets. There's not gonna be a war. We're gonna hire the Egyptians and they're gonna be in an alliance with us and and hold off hold off the Babylonians, you know. We were able to hold off the Assyrians earlier, and the 10 northern tribes got wiped out in July by the Assyrians. But at that time, they were a strong, you know, empire. But the Babylonian empire began to emerge and became God's instrument of judgment and wiped out the Assyrians, wiped out the Egyptians. And so and then dealt Judah a fatal blow and destroyed Jerusalem. Isaiah 66 verse four. I also will choose their delusions and will bring their fears unto them upon them. Because when I called, none did answer. When I spake, they did not hear. And so the Lord spoke, but the people didn't ears to hear. Jesus in speaking to the seven churches oh, go ahead, honey. I'm sorry. They did evil before my eyes and chose that in which I delighted not. Sorry to interrupt you, dear. Yeah. You that has such a good voice. And so the deception that the false prophets use, that God even allows them to use, but it proves it proves who are the sheep and who are the goats. And it's a sifting that's taking place. And then he says, I deceive that prophet and I'll stretch out my hand upon him. We'll destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. They shall bear the punishment of their iniquity. The punishment of the prophets shall be even like the punishment of him that seeketh under unto him. So both are gonna be judged. The false prophets and the people that gave into it are both gonna be judged. That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted anymore with all of their transgressions. But that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord God. So God loves them, and God's going to use a method called affliction. He's going to afflict the nation. He's going to use it again during the tribulation period where there's going be a one third remnant that survives the seven year tribulation period of Jews. Two thirds are going to be wiped out. They're going to be going through the fire of the tribulation period, purifying the time of Jacob's trouble. In this case here, again, Lord uses affliction. In Hebrews 12, the Lord uses affliction with you and I. Whom the Lord loves, He chastens and He scourges every son or daughter. If you're not a child of God, then there is no chastening. You seemingly get away with your sin because God doesn't spank somebody else's kid, know, nor will you. But there is a day of judgment. There is a day where you're gonna give account of what you did while you're in your body, whether good or bad. And so this affliction that God uses is restorative. It's to restore. So in Psalm one hundred and nineteen sixty seven, the psalmist says, before I was afflicted, I went astray. And then after that affliction, it corrected me and brought me back around. Most loving thing we can do as parents is to bring correction to our children, instruction in righteousness, And spare the rod, spoil the child. We need to drive far from them that rebellious spirit that we have against God and bring us as much as we can into conformity to His Word. But loving parents, spare the rod, spoil the child. You're going to spoil them. You're going to ruin them. And you have a period of time, to provide, enough affliction. It could be restriction. It could be taking their switches away or don't even have any switches. It can be a number of different things. You definitely want to feed them each night. Don't tell them to go to bed without food. But analyze them, get to know them, and see what makes them tick. And, my parents, even when I was a teenager, when I'm 14, 15 years old, 13, the way they got my attention was, they couldn't spank me anymore. But all they had to say was, if you don't straighten up, I'm gonna take you down to the barber and cut your hair, bring you down to bare metal. And that was social suicide, so that that corrected me real quick, know. Because I think they still could have done it. I'm not sure, but I didn't wanna call their bluff, did I? So I love my long hair, you know. And so before I was afflicted, I went astray. And so they're astrayed from me. The word of the Lord came in verse 12, again to me saying, son of man, the land sins against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out my hand upon it, will break the staff of bread and will send famine. So here comes the affliction, the affliction of famine. And God's again, God's design is restorative. God wants them to come back, to repent, to get right. And he starts out saying there's going to be a lack of food production. And your crops are going to fail in an agricultural society. That's paramount. And it will cut off man and beast from it. Those three men, Daniel. Daniel's still alive. He's in captivity. But God uses Daniel as an example. Job. You remember Job? Job where there came a day where the sons of God came and appeared before the Lord, And God said to Satan, you know, where you been? And he says, oh, I've been going to and fro up and down the earth. And God said you know, he's studying. Peter says Satan goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Now Satan is a fallen angel, and he's not omnipresent. So Satan can only be in one place at one time, but he also has a bunch of demons that have geographical areas. In Sedona here, I don't know what the geographical percentages are, but it's known as an occultic region. Know? So you would say, where's the light shining? Can a church like Ephesus be planted, here over a three year period of time like Paul did that has an impact on shining the light to set the people free from the, you know, the idolatry or not. But, in any event, the sons of God came before the Lord. God says to Satan, have you considered my servant Job, a man perfect and upright in all of his ways, a man that fears God and eschews evil? And Satan says, well, he's a hireling. He's a mercenary. He does not love you like you think he loves you. You have blessed him. You've made him very, wealthy. And you take away his stuff, and he'll curse you to your face. And so God allowed that the universe could watch this, that it'd be recorded, and that the angels could watch it, And, everybody could watch and see. So God allowed a day where, Satan was allowed. Remember, Satan's on a leash, tight leash, but he has the, parameter. He has the latitude. Now, the hedge of protection around Job was removed. We need that hedge of protection. It was removed so that Satan could get at him. He wasn't able to get at him. And he got at him, took away all the stuff. And then, Job is still worshiping God. Naked came into the world, naked and gone, the Lord gaveth, the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him. The Lord knows the way that I take. When he's tried me, I'm gonna come forth as gold. Job's growing. And later on in chapter 19, it it comes to the Messiah. I know that my redeemer lives. And it's just such such victorious faith that Job epitomizes during the trial that he's under. And then Satan comes back, maybe like a lot of you, a lot of us, he attacks you physically. He takes away your health. And as of the moment, you're not the person you once were. And so Job's health is removed from him. He's seated in the ground and in ashes, dust and ashes, and he's taken a potsherd and he's scraping himself because he's got boils from the crown of his head all the way down to his feet. And the bible says, and Job sinned not with his lips. So Job continued to be triumphant in his faith, even though he's wrestling, trying to understand, oh, that I had a daysman, a mediator, someone could plead my case before God. But by the end of the book, Job is repenting. This righteous man is repenting. Because there's only one righteous person, that's Jesus. So although the Lord is bragging on, you know, Noah, Daniel, and Job here, there's only one righteous person, that's Jesus. And he says, bore myself and I repented dust and ashes. And I'm trying to think and talk about things that are too wonderful for me, too high for me. And I love how the Lord describes Job as my servant Job. Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar, they are not described as my servant, or my servant Moses. The privilege and the blessing of going through suffering that proves to the universe that you love the Lord for who He is, that there's no idols in your heart. That the Lord is your everything. The Lord is your portion, you know, forever. So he says, though Daniel and Job were in it, they should deliver only their own souls. And so Daniel's alive in captivity. If Job was there, being this righteous man, their righteousness saith the Lord. So only the only people that would be able to survive would be Daniel and Job. Their righteousness would save them, and their righteousness comes to them from Romans four verse three by faith. It's our faith that's imputed on us for righteousness. If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, so you got famine, you got beasts, you're gonna see the sword and the pestilence. These four are gonna be used. But he says, if I cause evil beasts to pass through the land and they spoil it, so that it be desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts. So, man, you got lions and tigers and bears. Oh, my. And there are these man killers, man eaters all over the area. And the Lord said, I'm gonna use these beasts to make it so that you're afraid to go outside at night, if you live in India. Though these three men were in it as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver their sons or daughters. So I lost one. Where's where's Noah? Oh, we got Noah there. He's the preacher of righteousness for a hundred and twenty years. Then you got Daniel, then you got Job. And he says, those three these three men were in it as I live, saith the Lord. They shall deliver neither their sons nor their daughters. They shall only be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. So, you know, Noah, preacher of righteousness, hundred and twenty years. His family got into the boat. The animals got into the boat. And you got Daniel, he's in captivity. He's gonna be around when Cyrus comes at the end of seventy years and hear the decree that, you know, remnant of people can go back and rebuild Jerusalem. And and then you got, as we said, you have Job there, and these are righteous guys. And God said their righteousness would preserve them. And you remember when Abraham was interceding on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah, if there'd be 50 righteous, if there'd be 40 righteous, be 35 righteous, you know, all the way down to 10 righteous. God said if there was just 10 righteous, I'd spare the city. And God's saying in this case, Jerusalem not Sodom and Gomorrah, but Jerusalem, his own city, city of the great king, city of peace, the Zion. And he says, the only ones to be saved are these men. Not even their families would be able to get out. And so though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither their sons nor their daughters. They only shall deliver. They shall only be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. Or if I bring sword upon that land and say, sword, go through the land, so that I cut off man and beast. So God uses the war. That of war to wipe the people out. And if that's what I choose to use. Now God can use famine. He can use sword, He can use evil beasts, like Bill Gates and these guys, to try world population reduction, you know. Messing up our food supply, and poisoning us, and mRNA jabs, and vaccines, and all other means of which of reducing the population. Messing around with mosquitoes, sending mosquitoes after us, all these different crazy, crazy things these globalists are doing to reduce the population to half a billion people. God says, well, I can use the sword. I can use war and reduce the population. And though these three men were in it, verse 18, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only shall be delivered themselves. And so just themselves again. He says, or if I send pestilence into the land and pour out my fury upon it in blood to cut off from it man and beast. So, you put a siege upon a city, water and food's not getting in, and the people's immune systems erode. They get weaker, weaker, weaker. And as they get weaker and weaker, they get diseases, and then they don't have as good a sewage and all that other sorts of things. So diseases and pestilence that normally wouldn't be there begin to decimate the population. Or the Lord sends in a pestilence, and they get sick. And a huge amount of people die. And just a little footnote, people didn't die from Covid. The jab was made for Covid. They're dying from the jab. They're dying from being injected. That's what's killing them. So the plannedemic was planned. But God can use, and will use pestilence or pandemics, if you will, out of my fury upon. Or if I send pestilence into the land and pour out my fury upon it in blood to cut off from it man and beast. Though Noah now remember in the Armageddon, the blood's gonna be as high as the horse's bridle, four and a half feet high. God's gonna cause the blood to flow when the Lord Jesus destroys the Antichrist, and all the armies of the world that are converging to stop Jesus from returning, to stop Jesus from taking hold of this planet. The only hope for this planet is Jesus Christ. He's the only hope that we have. And except those days be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake, for the nation of Israel, that one third remnant, the Lord Jesus is gonna intervene. He's gonna intervene before man, before the devil destroys everybody. And so we're looking, we're watching. We know that our redemption draws nigh, and He's the only one. And then He says, though Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter. They shall deliver only their own souls by their righteousness. So the faith that each of them had in the true living God is imputed unto them for righteousness. And you remember Noah, and Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. And Noah was perfect in his generations. And then when Noah got out of the ark, Noah drank too much wine. And Noah was drunk and naked. So we see the sinfulness of Anon, we see the sinfulness of David, we see the father of her faith, Abraham, lying twice, you know, that we know of when he went into Egypt. Tell tell the pharaoh, you know, Sarah, that you're my sister, then of Elimelech. And there were times where these great men of faith, they'd lose their faith. They'd be filled with fear when they were tested by an adverse economy, when there's a famine in the land. And every single man upon this planet is a sinner, but God imputes them as righteous because of their faith. It's their faith that's imputed just like you and I. It's our faith in Jesus Christ. So we're looking back to the cross, they were looking future. That's why Job's able to say, I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand in the latter day upon the earth. And though worms come along and destroy, you know, his flesh, his body. Yet in his flesh shall he see God. So he's preaching of the resurrection. He knows the corruption that's going to come when Jesus, you know, in the sense of his body would die, that he experienced death. But as David said, he wouldn't see corruption in the sense that his body would stay in the grave. But he'd raise himself from the dead. That was the hope that Job had. That hope is imputed to him for righteousness. And just as the righteousness of Noah building that ark, even building that ark for a hundred and twenty years is imputed to him for righteousness. And Daniel, of course, him going into captivity and unwilling to compromise with Nebuchadnezzar, but to stand for the Lord and be a witness later when the Persians are in charge and they make laws to inhibit Daniel from praying as he would three times a day. He'd continue to pray. And he's thrown into the lion's den. And the Lord shuts the mouth of the lion. So when you stand for the Lord, He'll fight for you. And so these men bring glory and honor unto the Lord. So Noah, eight souls, Daniel, three souls, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Job and Jemima, Kereneza and Kerene Hapuk, three daughters of Job. There were no more glorious When you read the back part of Job, the very end of it, the Lord gave him double, but he had three beautiful daughters that and nobody was as beautiful. And He gave him an extra hundred and twenty years to enjoy a second season, a new season. Like Job part two. I keep saying, Lord, let Kathy and I enjoy Job part two, you know? And anybody who's read the book of Job knows what we're talking about. So though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter. They shall deliver only their own souls by their righteousness. And so, faith for each soul, each person. There's no grandchildren in heaven, in the sense that each and every one of our grandkids needs to come to Christ on their own. My grandson Judah, you know, we think a lot of times that our grandkids and our children come to the Lord at four years old. They pray the prayer and they ask Jesus in their heart. But there comes a day where they wanna be baptized, where they wanna identify publicly as an adult with the death, the burial, the resurrection of Jesus. And Judah was baptized last week. And that's a blessing to know that he's come not through his mommy and daddy and not through his grandparents, but he's come on his own accord. His faith is his own now. And each and every person needs to come that way. So the children of Noah, they don't get a free pass just because Noah's righteous, nor Daniel, nor Job, or any of us. We all have to go out and gather the manna, each person, each day, the bread of life. We all come through Jesus. For thus saith the Lord God, how much more when I send my four severe judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, the famine, the evil beast and the pestilence that cough from it in every beast. And so in Revelation six verse eight, can see parallel there of the famine, the sword, the evil beast and the pestilence and the sealed judgments that God's gonna bring. It's impossible to stop. Verse 22, yet behold, in it shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters. Behold, they shall come forth unto you and ye shall see their way and their doings, and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it. And so God always has a remnant. He always has a faithful remnant. When Elijah came back from destroying the 450 prophets of Baal, he came to the Lord and he said, I'm the only one left, and Jezebel's after me, you know. So this great prophet with all this courage and this great thing, just a witch of a woman makes a few threats, and Elijah's ready to quit. And, the Lord let Elijah know that I have the 7,000 that haven't bowed their knee to the prophet Baal. God always has, a faithful remnant. So this faithful remnant in the tribulation period, they go through the fire. They go through the fire of affliction, which purifies them and gets them ready to embrace the Messiah. And so a lot of times as parents, we can get in the way of what the Lord is wanting to do by enabling our kids when they're living lives as prodigals. Hardest thing in the world is to allow the consequences of their actions to come full circle, and bring them back to the Lord. But in many cases, some go to prison, some go to jail, some get sick, whatever. But we can be so absent as human beings, and God is using the spanking of affliction to correct His children. In case of Manasseh, in second Chronicles 3three 12, when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. And in Job 3four 28, it says he hears the cry of the afflicted. So Manasseh was the worst king of any king at all. He reigned for fifty five years and he was so wicked that even afterwards when Josiah and others brought reform, God says, no, because of the wickedness, Manasseh offering his own children in the arms of Baal and all the things that they did in Jerusalem. They're they're ripened for judgment. They're gonna be judged. But Manasseh, when he's led away by the Assyrians, hooks in his jaw and hooks all over him. In that affliction, Manasseh came to the Lord. In James four nine, be afflicted and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. So we're partying on the deck of the Titanic acting like everything's gonna continue as always has, and we don't see that iceberg of judgment up ahead. And so the Lord is saying, you need to be sober. You need to mourn a little bit. You need to recognize that it's imperative that it's appointed unto all men who wants to die, and then the judgment. You've got till the point of death. And today's the day of salvation, for why will you die in your sins? And so God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but the wicked turn. In Jonah two:eight, They did observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. So people that are deceived and following deception, they miss out on God's mercy. God forgiving them of their sin. And so they're going to continue with it. And in Jonah two verse two, I cried by reason of mine affliction when God afflicted Jonah under the Lord and he heard me and out of the belly of hell cried I and thou heard my voice. So God prepared a fish for Jonah and Jonah was riding along in that fish, and as he's going down the depths of hell, it's in affliction. God got his attention, and he cried out to God. And then Jonah was vomited out onto the shore of Nineveh, and God gave him a message, forty days and you're gonna perish. We have the good news, the glorious good news for God so loved. Jonah didn't have that message. He had the message of judgment. And then that message of judgment from the king all the way down, even the animals, everybody, They came to that place of repenting the sackcloth and ashes. And it says beautifully, and the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time. Do you need a second chance? Do you need a third chance? If you're still breathing, the Lord is ready to provide that chance. Are you done fighting God? Are you done being afflicted? Are you done doing it your way? If you'll simply surrender to the Holy Spirit, God has a whole new work that he wants to do in your heart and life. He wants to change your heart. He wants to give you a new heart. He wants you to be freed from the tyranny of the bondage of the idolatry that you've given yourself over to. He who the son sets free is free indeed. The liberty, the freedom that we enjoy as Christians is just so amazing that we don't have to participate in all the different idolatrous practices of the world. We have something so much better. We've tasted and we've seen that the Lord Jesus is good and nothing else compares. There's nothing else that compares to fellowship with Jesus. And so here we go. Verse 22, yet behold it shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth both sons and daughters. Behold they shall come forth unto you and you shall see their way and their doings. And you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it. So it took that evil. It took that adversity. It took that affliction to preserve that remnant. He always has a remnant. And in Revelation sixteen seven, the angels cry out, true and righteous are your judgments, O Lord. All the seal, the trumpet, the bowl judgments, true and righteous are your judgments, oh Lord. We don't have true judgments today. We don't have a clean supreme court. We don't have courts that'll judge evil. Evil is triumphing over that which is good. But one day, a new sheriff's coming. And when Jesus comes, he begins to pour out his seal and his trumpet and bold judgments in judging this world that has rejected him. We're gonna stand back and we're going, true and righteous are your judgments, oh, Lord. Oh, so good to have the king of kings and lord of lords ruling and reigning from Jerusalem with a rod of righteousness. We're so yearning for the rule of law in the sense of things to be done right, that the children be protected, that families be protected, that the innocent be protected and provided for, instead of preyed upon. And all the pedophilia, the idolatry of the wickedness that people have. They want to satisfy that lust with the idols within their hearts. And they're preying upon the most innocent of society, the small children. And it's just got to stop. It can't continue. Brought upon it just and fair. And they shall comfort you when you see their ways and their doings. And you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord God. And so because of God's grace, there's gonna be a remnant. And Jeremiah in the book of Lamentations in chapter three says, Lord, in your wrath, remember mercy. You know? When you point out your wrath, remember mercy. In Jeremiah 15 verse one, he mentions Moses. In Psalm 90 nine:six, he mentions Samuel. Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be towards His people. So we have these heroes of the faith, Moses and Samuel, and Noah, and Daniel, and Job. And God remembers each one and God remembers you too. All the unnamed servants out there who the Lord owns you. The Lord has your heart. There's no idols in your heart. You serve him with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, all your strength. And the Lord is pleased. He's so pleased. And so don't succumb. Don't give in and cheapen Christianity by trying to live a dual life of hiding away some idols in your heart. And, oh, by the way, I believe in Jesus too, because of fire insurance. I don't wanna go to hell. Nobody wants to go to hell. But much better to not leave your first love. Much better to allow Jesus to be at home, that he and the father make their abode within your heart. And that they not be there'd be no compromise there of where your first love is. That you love the Lord no matter what. So let's pray. Father, thank you so much for this bible study in Sedona, Arizona. And Lord, I just pray by the power of your Holy Spirit that wherever it went tonight, that your word would bear fruit. We know it doesn't come back void. We pray that you encourage the body of believers and just spread your word that it would that it would just produce great, great fruit for your kingdom and for your glory, Lord.
