Ezekiel 8
Pastor Rick Beaudry examines Ezekiel 8, guiding us through Ezekiel’s vision of God’s glory and the prophet being carried in the spirit to Jerusalem to witness the temple’s abominations. He describes the image of jealousy, walls painted with creeping things, elders and priests committing secret idolatry, women weeping for Tammuz, and priests turning east to worship the sun, with greater abominations still to come. Beaudry connects those ancient sins to modern forms of idolatry, from worshiping creation and political figures to secret vices and technological control, and warns against elevating any man or system above Christ. He calls us to rely on the Holy Spirit, to confess and repent, and to let Christ’s exclusive glory shine through our lives as salt and light amid growing corruption.
