Jeremiah 42
Pastor Rick Beaudry examines Jeremiah 42 where a small remnant asks Jeremiah about fleeing to Egypt after Gedaliah’s murder, exposing forty years of ignoring God and their sudden appeal for prophetic endorsement. He recounts Jeremiah’s ten days of prayer, draws on Daniel 10 to explain spiritual warfare that can delay answers, and shares God’s clear charge to remain and abide so he will build, plant, and show mercy. Beaudry warns that flight to Egypt will bring the very evils they fear, contrasts faith and fear, and urges us to repent and abide in Christ using John 15’s vine imagery. The message calls the church to choose obedience over compromise, to pray and mourn for the nation, and to trust God to fight spiritual battles rather than chasing worldly solutions.
