Father, we come before you, we thank you for this night that we can gather in your name to worship you, study your word, have a meal together, and, Lord, just wait upon you. We pray that you give us ears to hear, that Lord, we could hear as you instruct and teach us as you reveal yourself to a greater measure unto us, Lord. We pray that you'd edify and build us up, strengthen us, and just cause our our hearts and lives to overflow with your love, Lord. Be with Sally. Continue to heal her, Lord, and Allen, just continue to pour out Holy Spirit, Lord, in that way. We thank you for all the improvement and how well how much better they're doing, Lord. And just a bless, bless, bless tonight, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Rob. There you go. Alright. Thank you, Rob. Jeremiah 36. Father, thank you for another opportunity to study your word together. A little home bible studies, Lord, like the early church started. And, I I just thank you for these these times together. I thank you for the privilege of watching you save Cheryl and being able to baptize her yesterday and and just how exciting it is to see a new babe in Christ, Lord, the zeal, the blessing of of come to know you. I just pray over her and ask that you bless her, Lord, that you bless her life, lead and guide her steps, and give her great wisdom the days and weeks ahead, and undergird and strengthen her, Lord. Help her to fall more and more in love with you. And just thank you for all that you're doing in our lives, Lord. And there's rejoicing in heaven among the angels when just one sinner comes to that place of repentance, Lord. And thank you that we could share in that joy. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright. Jeremiah 36. And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came onto Jeremiah from the Lord saying. And so this is about 06/2005 to June, and the Lord says, take the scroll of a book and write in it all the words that I've spoken unto thee against Israel and against Judah and against all the nations from the day that I spoke unto thee, from the days of Josiah even unto this day. So he's gotta remember all the things that the Lord has has spoken to him from about a twenty three year period of time from June to 06/2004. And Jeremiah is gonna sit down, and and Gedaliah is gonna help him or excuse me, Baruch. Baruch is going to write the things down as Jeremiah dictates them, much like we see the apostle Paul as he has his secretary helping him. And and in this day, there's two different types of books or writing that they would do. The Nile River would have leaves that grow along the Nile. And so you have codexes, is it codexes, and and parchments? So the parchments would be on leather and then the Papyrus. Papyrus leaves. Yeah. And they would they would use that as a as a means of, you know, writing, and and they would they're gonna write in columns, different columns like this. And Hebrew goes from right to left, and and then they roll it. You know? So Jesus goes in the temple and rolls, you know, the scroll to Isaiah. Right? And when Philip's there with the Ethiopian eunuch, he's up on the camel and, you know, he's got the scroll there. So you could purchase these scrolls and and have them in possession and all that. After seventy AD, when all the records and everything are destroyed in the temple and all and the Jews are dispersed, A lot of the Masoretic text, which is our Old Testament preserved by the Jews. And then you have also in the Old Testament out of Alexandria, Egypt, much of the Jews began to speak Greek language, so they translated the Hebrew Old Testament into the Septuagint, which means 70. And so the New Testament comes along, and you've got the Masoretic excuse me, the Texas Receptus, the received text, the Byzantine text. The majority of the Bible in the New Testament is written in the Koine Greek, and it's and derives in that family of manuscripts that the King James comes from where there's, like I said, over 5,000 extant portions of of that manuscript of the New Testament, and and this was what's called the majority text. Majority of the Bible, the New Testament came from the what's called the majority text. And then you have, as I said, the Old Testament is real solid. It's the Masoretic text. And these Masorets, when they would write, if they made a mistake, they would get rid of the whole scroll and start over. That's how important it was to be perfect as they're taking one scroll. And imagine how if you're taking a scroll and how it starts to get old. That's how the majority text was. There was a lot of pieces of it and fragments and it was in use. You know, people were using this text, this form of the Bible, passing them around. And just as we're gonna see here, governments are antagonistic toward Christians having Bibles. And so they would burn the Bibles, get rid of the Bibles, forbid them to have Bibles. After 03/13, when Constantine nationalized the church, the Catholics taking over, you know, the the distribution of the word of God began to make a huge business out of it in that they didn't allow the common people to have the word of God. And so the common people were speaking Koine Greek, and that's the that's the language that the Lord had the majority of the Bible, the New Testament written in, although some of it's Aramaic, and which the people spoke. And so what the Catholics did to the devil did to keep people from getting to know Jesus is they began to keep the Bible from them, the majority text. There's a group called the Waldenses that had the Bible, they sent armies after them and to attack them if people had Bibles. But they also took and commissioned Jerome to take and translate the Greek into Latin. Now, how many people do you think spoke Latin and, you know, wrote you know, could read and write and speak Latin? So only the upper echelon, the upper educated, not the common people, We're told that the common people heard Jesus gladly because finally they're hearing Jesus speak in such a way with his his illustrations, just common life bringing forth, you know, spiritual truths and all. And And so like people that are growing up in the Catholic church even to this day, you go to what's called a mass, and if it's the old school way when I was a kid, I wouldn't understood regardless whatever language they spoke in, but they would have what's called a Latin mass. And there's nobody in the audience that has a Bible that can understand what's being said, although many kids in Catholic schools did, you know, study Latin. And so so some of them did, but the common people, the dregs of society like me, they they could they could barely read read English, you know, let alone let alone Latin. So the Bible, the word of God's been a point of contention with the devil from the very beginning, attacking the truth of God's word that he promised Adam and Eve. And he'll always, all throughout history, attack the truth, attack the word of God, where he says to Adam, I has God said? And then he'll twist scripture. You know? And when Jesus was being tempted, Jesus you know, the first temptation is Satan's appealing in Matthew four to the physical appetites we have, the drive for food. So Jesus hasn't eaten anything for forty days, and Satan is challenging the deity of Christ, you know, if you are the son of God, command that these stones be made bread. And so how does Jesus combat that temptation? What's he do? We don't live on bread alone. He quotes he quotes out of Deuteronomy. Right? It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, by every word that precede the mouth of God. So what's Satan? What's his next strategy after that? Turn these stones into No. The next one. He takes them up onto the high pinnacle power High pinnacle of of the temple, and he says jump off. He says, if you are the son of god Jump off. Jump off because now Satan's gonna quote. He's gonna quote Psalm 91, and he's gonna say, off here unless his angels you know, his angels shall catch the you won't dash your foot against a stone. And so but he misquotes it. He misquotes it. Say misquotes it the in that Psalm 91. And so Jesus comes back again. He said, it is written, thou shall not tempt the Lord thy God. Mhmm. Then the third one, the third temptation, if you're God, he takes them up, shows them all the kingdoms of the world. And if you bow down and worship me, I'll give you all these kingdoms of the world. Right? So Satan's offering Jesus to be the king, which prophetically he knows eventually Jesus is gonna be. Right? The Messiah, king of kings, lord of lords, but you can come by way of shortcut Jesus. You don't have to go by way of the cross. You can have the crown without the crown of thorns. Right? And so Jesus again quotes the word of God and says, man shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall thou serve begone Satan. Satan leaves for a season. And Satan is a liar. Satan is a liar. Always a liar, but he does know scripture. Mhmm. To And he'll twist scripture. So the best way to counteract the devil is what? Know the bible. To know the bible. Yeah. Sorry. And so Cathy is doing a great job of teaching the children the bible, getting the bible into them, and so are you guys, so are we. And can you imagine trying to be a Christian without a bible? And yet, in America, bibles are everywhere, but how many of us read the bible? Mhmm. Right? How many of us are investing the time to hide God's word away in our heart? Now Jeremiah doesn't have a computer and just pull up what he's, you know, laid out in his files the last twenty three years. Right? He's told to write down on a book all that I've told you. How's this guy do that? How's he dictate to, you know, Baruch twenty three years of prophecies? You know? Right? Yeah. So the Psalmist says, David says, thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. So as you sow God's word in your heart, and in John 14, Jesus said, when he sends the comforter, the comforter will bring those verses of the Bible that you've sown to remembrance. Right? So how many times have you witnessed to people and all of a sudden the Lord brings ping to memory Yep. Verses in the Bible that you didn't remember that you read or even knew. You know what I mean? And you don't always know the address. You know, hey, this is John four seventeen or whatever. But the truth that you need to speak to this person is there, and and how glorious that is when we know that the Lord is anointing us. And a lot of times, it's hard to keep up with all that the Lord's flood in your heart and mind. It's hard to keep up as the Holy Spirit's just bringing so many things into your head, and you're you're, you know, you're trying to trying to stay up with it. And so this prophecy is compiled, written down, and and let's look at the inspiration of the Bible, how this how this takes place in that we have our Bible. So if you have my notes, I I send them to Facebook. Second Peter one twenty and twenty one. Who wants that one? Okay. Yeah. Second Peter. Here we're gonna see Peter's gonna describe to us that this this inspiration. So the question I wanna ask before we get there is, is what we hold here the word of men or the word of God? Is it the word of man or the word of God? God is fired. One of the things that people do all the time, do you say that's just the words of men. Right? I never heard that. Just the words of men. How are you gonna refute that? How are you gonna how are you going to give them a confidence that it's not man's word, it's God's word? Over 40 men wrote it? Me? Every word is God breathed and supported. So we'll have you read second Timothy three sixteen. Mhmm. And then we'll have somebody read first Thessalonians two thirteen. First Thessalonians two thirteen. Yep. So we're looking at the infallibility, the inerrancy, the inspired word of God. So when we say this, we're talking about the original manuscripts. In the original manuscripts, the Bible is infallible, inerrant, inspired word of God. In translation, as these are translated, printed, and copied over the years, there can be punctuation errors, there can be copyist errors, if you will, but none of these errors have have any detrimental effect to the doctrine that's being taught. It's just miniscule airs of men, but you still glean the truth of what God is communicating to you. It's God's word. It's God breathed. And that's very important to understand. Now with all of the bibles that are being printed and all of the the publishers that are out there, Zondervin and everybody with these production of bibles, the danger is is in so many different translations that we're losing the meaning of the Bible in many cases. So there was a point in time where the what's called the Alexandrian text. The Alexandrian text competes with the majority text for the New Testament. The majority text, as I said, there's over 5,000 extant manuscripts that our King James Bible family manuscripts come from. So if you can't handle the these and the thous of the King James, I recommend people get in a new King James because it's still from the family manuscript that we call the majority text. That's the important part. Erasmus translated in it. It's called the Byzantine text. The Texas receptus, the received text, if you will, the church this is the text the church received. So around late eighteen hundreds, the church began to face what's called modernism. There's a pressure upon the church to look intellectual, to look smart, to be like the world. So with the Darwinian evolution, the scopes trials, and so the church even even coming up with aberrant teaching like the bang theory and what do you call it? Where God gets started, you know, that of creation, but then there is evolution thereafter. I figured what you call that, rather than six days. But what happened then is a guy named Westcott and Hort. Two guys, Westcott and Hort and a guy named Tischendorf. They found two manuscripts. One was found the Codex Vaticanus in a trash waste bin, they say, in one of the offices of the Vatican. So remember, we're talking Catholic. Right? Remember I talked about before, Jerome and the Latin Vulgate and all that? So you've got the Codex Vaticanus, and then you got the Codex Sinaiticus. And so you got these two manuscripts, and so what the what the critics began to say is, and even my Schofield here will have notes, and they'll say like the last part of Mark, Mark 16, they'll say, in the oldest and most reliable manuscripts that we have Codex Vaticanus Sinaiticus, this portion of Mark 16 is not in them. So what's that do to people? It makes people think, is this the word of God or the word of man? It's it's it's it's part of that modernism. It's a part of that that Westcott and Hort made 33,000 changes to the King James Bible when they tried to update it, to speak. And a lot of changes pertaining to doctrine, pertaining to the virgin birth and things like that. So not to be trusted. And so the King James, and I got this from Chuck Missler, the sixteen eleven King James. Now I like the sixteen eleven King James in my left hand, actually, hand, either hand, and a nineteen eleven forty five in the other hand. And you're you're armed. You're ready. Right? You gotta be armed. So sixteen eleven King James she's looking at me so funny. Well, I'm taking this in. This is this is what we need. So how many years have we had this King James from 1611 to the present? All the time. Like, over five hundred years. Right? Over five hundred years. So for over five hundred years, we've had the greatest theologians over the last five hundred years primarily use this bible, and they came up with what's called the Strong's Concordance, which is key to the King James. So if you wanna look up words and meanings and everything, it's it's key. Now these people didn't have phones. They didn't have televisions, computers, or any of those things. These people had a, you know, a little light, a a candle. They're men of the word, men and women of the word. So and they're writing all this stuff down. The the Strong's Concordance made into a book where you can look up a word and you can find it in the Bible, all the places that it's used and the definition thereof. And there's such great scholars that can tell you what that word means in the Greek or in the Hebrew. Right? So those are what's called helps. Another one that's very valuable for me in addition to the Strong's Concordance is the treasury of scripture knowledge. So if you get a Thompson Chain reference bible, it's similar to that, but even stronger, the treasure of scripture knowledge, in that you can take a theme, a verse here, and then you can see all the different places in the bible that truth is taught all the way through. So, you take the Bible and you use the Bible to teach the Bible. So, when I'm teaching, a lot of times you'll see that I'll quote from another spot to substantiate what's being said here, that it is, you know, it's powerful enough the bible it can God can say it just one time in one place, but if if you really wanna, you know, add to the absoluteness, if you will, if that's if that's the term, validity of what you're saying, then you let the Bible teach the Bible, not man's opinion or my opinion or anybody else's opinion. You let Jesus, you let Abraham, you let Isaiah, you let Jeremiah, you know, reiterate what's being said. So that's kind of a backdrop there. So Peter says he's describing how this word is not the word of man, didn't originate with man. The inspiration came how in second Peter one twenty and twenty one. Second Peter One twenty and twenty one. One. You're reading out of that. NIV? Second yeah. No. Yeah. I think it is. It's okay. It's okay. Just a little joke. From Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. Then 21? No. Second Peter chapter one verse twenty and twenty one. Verses twenty and twenty one. Oh, twenty and twenty one. Okay. I got it. I was thinking that was it. Above all above all, you must understand that no prophecy in scripture ever came from the prophets themselves or or because they wanted to prophesize. He was the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to speak from God. So if we interpret that to understand, the prophet is hearing from the Lord, and he's writing down what he's hearing. Mhmm. The thought that's presented is not from man. It's not the man's thought. This is an inspiration from God and he's writing these things down, writing the word of God down. Mhmm. So it's not the the inspiration didn't come from the man. Oh, I'm inspired to write this book or write this. The prophet is hearing from the Lord and writing it down. You understand that? In the in the original autographs. Okay. And then first Thessalonians two thirteen. First Thessalonians two thirteen. Which one are you gonna read with that? For this cause, also thank we God without ceasing because when we receive the word of God, which he heard us, he received it not as the word of men, but as is truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. So Did I surprise you? Yeah. That was very good. That was very, very important. Very, very important. He's emphasizing there, it's not the word of man, it's the word of God. So please stand with me as we read God's holy word together. There's an emphasis upon that this is God's word, and let's read it together. We wanna get that clear to everybody right there that God's wanting to speak to us through his word. It's his word. Right? And if it was the word of men, we're just wasting our time. Right? Wasting our time. Alright. And then, Robbie. All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. So all scripture is given by inspiration of God. In the Greek, that means God breathed. Mhmm. It's God speaking. It's profitable for doctrine of proof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect or thoroughly furnished for every good work. So if we're students of God's word, disciples of God's word, it's God's word that's going to equip us for that work he's called us to do. A lot of times you'll hear pastor Chuck say, you'll hear me say it because I learned from him, God's looking for men and women who have a good working knowledge of the scriptures. You know your way around the Bible. So you can be a fisherman and come home after a hard day of fishing and come home and unroll a scroll and study the word. You can attend church where the Bible is taught, and over a period of time, you're going to have a good, you're going to develop a good working knowledge of the scripture. So Paul also told Timothy, study to show yourself approved so you can be disproved or approved. Approved is you come through the fire and you pass the test. Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. So any of us, all of us, as we study God's word, the Holy Spirit's given to us to help us to hide that word in our heart. And so when we're talking about transformation or transhumanism, where they're trying to make people half human and half machine. Right? And they wanna integrate artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence to write a new Bible, right? They want to write a new Bible. We have the word of God from God to transform our minds. We have an old, edemic nature, an old, edemic way of thinking, and we can transform that thinking. God can reprogram our minds because as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. So he can reprogram us and get us to think about things and see things the way he sees them, the way he thinks. So we can be like minded with Christ. We can have the mind of Christ. And when there's a famine in the land for the word of God and the people are, you know, commanded to live the Christian life, but they aren't equipped with the word of God, the word of God isn't being taught, that's very unfair to those believers to attend a church where the pastor isn't taking them through the Bible. The pastor's calling, the pastor's office is to be a teacher. You saw the interaction with Peter, with the Lord. Peter, do you love me? Feed my sheep. Do you love me? Tend my lambs. Feed my sheep. Three times. You see the apostle Paul to the church of Ephesus that he was innocent of the blood of every single person because for the space of three years, he neglected not to bring them the full counsel of God, night and day with tears. So take heed over this flock which he's purchased with his own blood, so they're blood bought. So any underling, any under shepherd needs to understand that his very first priority is to love the sheep, and love the sheep by feeding the sheep, tending the sheep, caring for the sheep with the teaching of the Word. Therapeutically, the Word of God, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit can comfort. The Holy Spirit can bring healing. Holy Spirit, through the teaching of God's Word, can do great work into people's emotions and mind, hearts, families, all of it. So it's not just a knowledge of, knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. It's the knowledge, experiential knowledge through the study of the word where you come to a greater intimacy in knowing Jesus, not the accumulation of facts from a seminary where it's just mechanical and external. The word of God comes into your heart, transforms, and changes you, and and that's what we want. We want the spirit, not that of the flesh. And so Jeremiah is instructed in this way, and I got another verse that I'm gonna go ahead and give Robbie right now because one of her favorite verses, and it's a verse that that I believe my ministry that God's given me is based upon. It's how it's how I keep going in a place that doesn't care about god's word. Isaiah fifty five eleven. Robbie loves this verse. I'm afraid to read it. She's got it memorized. Something to do with testosterone. Oh, stop. Men need estrogen too. You know? We're kinda touchy feely. Fifty five eleven? Yeah. So will my word be which goes forth from my mouth. It will not return to me empty without accomplishing what I desire and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Ain't that great? Mhmm. So my confidence is if I stay with the word of God, if we stay with the word of God, regardless of whether it's received or not received by the people, and that's think of Jeremiah. He's bringing forth the word of God. He's not resorting to what the latest false prophet from Egypt saying and trying to incorporate that. You know? He's staying with the word of God, and the chips fall where they may. Either either they receive the word of God and they receive the blessing that God's wanting to bring, or they reject the word of God and they're being ripened unto judgment. They're being warned. Their whole time you're there, they know that there's somebody there teaching the word and they've consciously rejected that word. They're not rejecting me, They're rejecting the Lord and his word. So I don't want Cathy and I watching a football movie of a guy that was a walk on and became a a ball player at Arkansas Razorbacks. And one of the things that coach said to him, and I really like this, was if you wanna be liked, if you wanna be popular, then be an ice cream salesman. But if you wanna be a leader, be prepared for people to hate you, not like you. And isn't that the truth? Yeah. Uh-huh. And a lot of churches are just ice cream salesman. They're just you know, who who doesn't like ice cream? You know? And but you're not gonna grow from a steady diet of ice cream. Right? A lot of parents are ice cream salesmen. Yeah. Yeah. Papas are. I give my kids Well, you're a lot. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Papas are. Isaiah's out there today. Yesterday, it's freezing out. Papa, it's almost summer. You know what summer means? We're gonna get those popsicles, root beer popsicles grandma bought. You know? One day, we we ate, like, four boxes of them. And and Sean Sean was there working on my truck, and he come into the sugar shack, and he saw the boxes on the floor, and he's just, like, dumbfounded. Like, you just let Tim eat four boxes of pops of gold. He knows what his wife would think. What would know what your wife would think? Once it's done, it's done. You can't clip that, baby. It's easier to Ask for forgiveness. Than to get permission. Yeah. Rob knows he's a papa. I live I live by that myself. Okay. So take the scroll of a book and write in it all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel and against Judah and against all the nations. From the day I spoke unto thee, from the days of Josiah even unto this day. So from June to 06/04/2020 three years. It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose. So future, hasn't happened yet, future, to do unto them that they may return. What's it mean to return? Go back. Repent. To repent. And and God's given them all this space for repentance. He always gives us time to turn. He doesn't wanna judge. Unto them that they may return every man from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sins. And so we're reminded that in second Peter three one through nine, you know, that the Lord is long suffering, not willing that any would perish, but that all would come to repentance. But what's also is in there is a prophecy. Somebody let's have somebody read second Peter three one through nine. There's a prophecy there that's being fulfilled today where people are gonna mock the prophecies that we're we're telling them about. They're called scoffers by Peter, and they're gonna mock us, and they're gonna say, oh, yeah. I read the Tim LaHaye books, and I read, you know, Hal Lindsey's books about the rapture and the second coming. And and, you know, everything continues as it always has. You know? I saw the movies. Oh, the rapture. The rapture. That's never gonna happen. You know? You guys are crazy, you know, and all that. And Jesus never coming back. Well, Peter says they're willingly ignorant, not understanding that God's long suffering. He's unwilling that any would perish, but that all would come to repentance. And then in Ezekiel go ahead and read that, then I'll tell you what it says in Ezekiel. Three one through nine your real bible. Three second Timothy three one through nine. This now all know also that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, coveting, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient That's the wrong book. That's the wrong book. Wrong book. Which one is it? Second Peter. Oh, second Peter. That's okay. We got time. That sounded good though, didn't it? It did. Had inflection, all of it accent. And I read in the I read in the right in the You did. I was getting chills. I know. Oh, Facebook. Here's a little infomercial, Facebook. Second Peter 3. 31 through 9. On to 9. This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you in both which I stirred your pure minds by way of remembrance. That you may also mindful of the words which were spoken before the holy prophets and the commandments of us, the apostles of the Lord and savior. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts and saying, where is this promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this, they were willing excuse me. For this, they willingly are ignorant of that by the word of God, the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of the waters and in the water. Keep going. All the way to Nine. To Nine. Okay. Therefore, the world that then was being overthrown with water perished, but the heavens and the earth, which are now by the same word are kept in store reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promises as some men count slackness, but as long suffering to us usward not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So he used an illustration of the time of Noah. Noah's a preacher of righteousness for a hundred and twenty years. Only eight people got in the boat, the most important eight people of Noah's life, but only eight and the animals got in the boat. And so scoffers, you know, millions of people on the planet at that time, and Noah's preaching, get into the boat, get into Christ. You need to get into Christ. We're preaching, get into Christ. And we're talking about a day of judgment coming. There's a day of judgment coming, and we've got all these prophecies we're telling people about right now about a one world global currency, a one world global government, a one world global religion, and just three basic things, but they can all see it, can't they? They can see it. But they're willingly ignorant, scoffing when we tell them Jesus is coming back. And in their scoffing, what is it they're not cognizant of? What is it about God and his heart they're unaware of? He's long suffering. He's not delaying because it's not gonna happen. He's delaying because he's long suffering, not willing that any would perish and that all would come to repentance. Aren't you thankful that the Lord isn't quick to judge you? That he's long suffering, gives us space to repent? I mean, he's looking for a way to forgive him. Give me a way to forgive you. Just give me a chance, you know, just turn from your sin. So that brings us to Ezekiel three and Ezekiel 33 where the Lord says that, turn ye, turn ye, for why will you die in your sins, O house of Israel? I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his wickedness. And I love to use that when I'm preaching the gospel. I love to emphasize that God's long suffering and how he's pleading. He's pleading. You hear the you hear the heart of the prodigal father, the the father with the prodigal son. He's pleading. You know, he's just pleading. I don't wanna judge you. I don't you know what I mean? And and you can you can see the the the heart of God there. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that they turn. And so God gives an opportunity of salvation to all the globalists, all the evil people out there, you, me, everybody, and he's unwilling that and he's no respecter of persons. They all have access to the cross to confess their sin as Manasseh did, and I believe even Judas had a had a short little little nanosecond there to consider what he was doing when Jesus Jesus looked at him and said, Judas, betrayeth out the son of man with a kiss? Wake up, buddy. Wake up. What are you doing? You know? The Lord's given him a space to repent. Judas. Mhmm. And just how sad it is. And so so and and the other word that Rob used there was Peter as he's starting out, Peter talked about, I know you've heard about these things, but by way of remembrance, Part of our learning and the good a a good rule of thumb for any teacher is to provide a summary, to remind people what you've already told them. We forget a lot of stuff. So I'm gonna tell you this again. Even though I've told you this before, but by way of remembrance, it'll sink down deeper. You know what I mean? And so there's nothing wrong with repeating yourself as a teacher. And as time goes on, if you stay at our church, you're probably gonna hear a lot of my stories and my jokes over and over again. You know? I come up with new ones all the time, though. I come up with new ones all the time. And I'm inspired. I'm inspired. I really am. And so and the word of God and the way that I teach the word of God and understand the word of God, you'll you'll see me use different illustrations from the Bible and but nothing wrong with that. Okay. So he's long suffering. So the people that we're praying for, the people that we love, that God loves, the objective here is to remind them that God loves him, that he sent his son to the cross and died for him, that he doesn't want to judge them. He's given them a way out, and that way out is through his son Jesus Christ. And he it breaks his heart to judge. Alright. Verse four. Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Niriah, and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord, which he had spoken unto him upon a scroll of a book. And so, Baruch's gonna write these things down, and and I, Jeremiah, commanded Baruch saying, I am restrained. I cannot go into the house of the Lord. So Jeremiah isn't allowed to follow through with this book to bring it before the people and before the leadership, before the king. So I'm a have to send Baruch to go read this. So Jeremiah was forbidden to be around the temple and all that. So therefore, go and read in the scroll which thou hast written from my mouth the words of the Lord. So they're from my mouth, but they're the words of the Lord. Very important distinction. These are not the words of Jeremiah. They're the words of the Lord. Have to have a confidence in this word being infallible, inerrant, inspired word of God. It's not the word of man. It's the word of God. How do we know it's the word of God? Prophecy. Mhmm. Yeah. Prophecy. Because we have the more sure word of prophecy. If it was the word of men, you wouldn't have prophecy. You wouldn't want to have a 100% accuracy where Jesus in his first coming fulfilled over 300 prophecies. Prophecies are being fulfilled every day right now and and shaping up and moving in the direction of fulfillment like a telescoping, and that's how we know the Book of Mormon can't do that, the Quran can't do that, none of these other books that are inspired of the devil can be a 100% accuracy prophetically. Do you see that? Do you understand that? Mhmm. Okay. Very important to understand. So he says, therefore go and read in the scroll which thou has written from my mouth the words of the Lord and the hearing of the people in the Lord's house upon the last day, and also thou shalt read them in the hearing of all Judah who come out of their cities. And so he's wanting to present this to those who are religious and rebellious and unrepentant, and we're reminded that God sent Jonah to Nineveh and had a message of forty days in your history. Right? Mhmm. And what did they do from the king on down? Repenting. Repented. Repented. And God gave them what's called a a Reprieve. Reprieve. Over a hundred years. A reprieve means America could have a chance to continue. There's shelf life of nations. The the root cause of America the problem of America is a spiritual problem of immorality and turning our backs upon God. Right? Yep. And there's no political candidate. There's no new king that could come in with reforms for the nation of Israel. Josiah was a good one, but he was killed and died early. He made some reforms, but the problem with re reformation is you don't change the hearts of the people. You get a little reprieve. You get a little window there. And, you know, maybe the Sodomites are moved away from Jerusalem and some of the grove areas are torn down, but further deeper in, the people are still gonna exercise their idolatry and their abortions and offering to Molech and all that sort of stuff. And but what you really need is a revival. You really need people's hearts to change. Right. And you need repentance, the fruit of repentance that touches the heart of God and gives him a reason to forgive. Right? He's looking for a way to forgive because he's the just and the holy God. And so you're bringing this to bring this to the hearing of the people here in Judah and come out of their cities. It may be they will present their supplication. So their supplication is like the publican, like the Philippian jailer. God, be merciful to me, a sinner. You know? They're supplicating. They're crying out to God. God, please forgive me before the Lord. And you remember the thief on the cross? Mhmm. This day you'll be with me in paradise, Jesus said. You know? And just a real quick repentance right there, right on the cross. You know? Lord, remember me when you're in your kingdom. You know? Just all that's all that was said. And just that little bit, that little tidbit. You know? This day you'll be with me in paradise. God, the Lord is so loving and kind. He's so ready to forgive. Amen. No matter what sins you and I have committed, no matter what sins you have hidden that are separating you from God or hindering your fellowship with the Lord, just supplicate, cry out to God. If we confess our sin, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. He wants to wash away those sins that are hindering you from entering in to a deeper, richer relationship with himself. He wants you to know him and to enjoy him. So don't hold on to those weights and those sins that are so easily besetting you. So before the Lord, and return everyone from the evil way, for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord has pronounced against his people. So again, a shelf life, a point in time where you're ripened under judgment, a point in time where God says, you know what? I'm gonna judge. Now May, Nebbe's gonna destroy the temple. And these people have had a long time to consider what the prophets have been telling them as they're being sent by by the Lord. And Jeremiah's got twenty three years into this so far. He's gonna go to about forty, forty one years before it's over, before his reign his time of service with the Lord is over. But belligerent people, people that just won't listen. So how do you think we can reach people in our time that we're living in that are belligerent, that don't have ears to hear, that don't want to hear? And how are we gonna reach them? Silence sometimes. Sometimes silence. Yeah. Pray them. Pray them. Prayer. Definitely prayer. Be a Prayer is huge. Prayer is a powerful thing. Right? Mhmm. Because it's a spiritual problem. Right? Mhmm. And so Daniel prayed twenty one days before he got an answer. Right? And he and the angel that came said, you know, he'd been fighting, sparring with the prince of Persia, you know, some fallen angels. So we intercede. We're intercessors. We appeal to God and ask for God to intervene and to you know, Lord, open their eyes, Lord. Lord, open their heart. Lord, you know, bring them bring the scales off their eyes that they could see the light. You know? And I think Hank Williams saying that I saw the light. Right? Mhmm. And that's what we want. Right? We should play that song right now. We no. I'm just kidding. Alright. So so maybe they will present their supplication before the Lord and will return everyone from his evil way for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord has pronounced against his people. I don't want to suffer God's wrath. Mm-mm. No. I don't want to go through the tribulation period where God is gonna pour out his wrath upon a Christ rejecting world. I'm reminded that if I'll pray always that I would escape pray always that you might escape these things and stand before the son of man. So I'm a believer, and he's telling me pray always that you'd escape these things, Rick, you know, and stand before the son of man. That's where I wanna be. I wanna be in heaven. That's where I wanna be. Yes. And, Lord, I don't wanna play games with you and wind up in the tribulation period. You know? That'd be a bummer. Alright. No bueno. No bueno. So alright. So and then maybe they will present their supplication for the lord and will return everyone from his evil way for great is the anger and the fury that the lord has pronounced against this people. So it's not Babylon. It's not Egypt. It's not Assyria. It's his own people. Mhmm. Sometimes we're our worst own enemy. Right? Too much is given, much is required. Israel has a responsibility before god. They're his people, and they've turned their back upon him. And boy, the Lord the Lord could wipe out any of their enemies, but when you make God your enemy, when you're in rebellion against God, rest assured you're gonna lose. Noah, Yuval Harari, you're gonna lose. Obama, you're gonna lose. Clinton's, all of them, everyone that's in rebellion toward God is going to lose. And Baruch the son of Uriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book of the words of the Lord in the Lord's house. And so he's he's you know, just read the word. Baruch, I don't need you to go there and have a really cool three point sermon. I don't need you to go there and have all kinds of cool, you know, media stuff going on. We like that stuff today. Right? Smoke and mirrors and smoke machines and emotional music and soften them up, get them ready to receive it, you know, maybe cry a little bit. No. Is the word of God powerful enough just to stand up and read it? Yeah. Yes. Just stand up and read it. Let the word of God speak by itself. Right? Just read the word. And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah king of Judah in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Jerusalem and to all the people who came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem. So if we look at verse one, it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim. Now we're here at the, let's see, the ninth month that they proclaimed a fast. So there there isn't any regular meetings of the people coming together, so there had to be a national fast to bring everybody together. They proclaim the national fast, then Baruch is gonna take advantage of that. Some commentators say, based upon the the calendar, nine months later, others say about three months later. But in any event, it wasn't didn't happen immediately after, you know, Baruch had the scroll written. Then read Baruch and the book of the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord in the chamber of Gemoriah. Gemoriah is a friend. So this is a public reading. The son of Shaphan, the scribe in the higher court at the entrance of the new gate of the lord's house in the hearing of all the people. So this is what we would say in a Billy Graham or an Amos. This is a day of decision. You're you're standing in the valley of decision, the day of decision. You know? Today's the day of salvation, you guys. This is it. This ain't something to put off till tomorrow. This is a day of decision. So when Micaiah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Shaphan, so that's not our Jeremiah, had heard out of the book all the words of the lord, then he went down. He went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber, and lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishamah the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and El Nathan, the son of Ekbor, and Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah, the son of Hananiah, and all the princes. So these are all the know it alls. These are the guys that think they know everything already. He went down and and what's interesting is when Jesus goes to the area of Gadara and the two guys are there at the chained up and demon possessed, and they're cutting themselves and they're screaming, and they're there where the graves are. No man could contain them. They could break the chains and all that. The demons recognize Jesus. That's right. Yeah. Mhmm. And the demons begin to speak through the the man, and we know who you are in Jesus. You know, we know who you are. You're that just one, and they know their destiny. They know who's gonna judge them. Have you come to torment us before our time? Mhmm. And see, time is crucial. We're we're gonna be we're eternal. We're gonna live for all eternity. Mhmm. But our service for the Lord presently and people that are on this planet, they only have a limited amount of time to make their decision. And the demons know eventually, you know, there's a time, there's a day of judgment, so to speak, and they know that. And so in Revelation 12, Satan knows the time is short. He has a sense that, alright, we're at the very edge here. Time is short. And so he centers his anger toward the woman, toward the nation of Israel. He wants so badly to destroy the woman in Revelation 12, and he's cast out of heaven, and he's down to the earth and he knows his time is short. What time is it? What time is it for you and I? How much time do we have to work to serve the Lord and to be about our father's business? We always need to be aware of how precious time is, the time that we have with each other, the time that we have to serve the Lord. Our loved ones only only have a limited amount of time. We we go through our list. In my head, I went through my list of my family members again today just praying for each one, each one I could think of. And I don't know if they're ever gonna respond or what's gonna happen or whatever, but the Lord will prompt your heart, and he'll he'll remind you to pray for him. Pray for him. Keep praying for him. And one man sows, another waters, but God brings the increase. How do you know that through your prayers, the Lord doesn't bring somebody to them at work or at school that shares the gospel with them? And then later, another one comes in water stat, and then another point in time, you're gonna see the Lord bring the increase. And when you get to heaven, we're going to see that our prayers came up as incense before the Lord. They came up as a praise and and incense before the Lord. And and how we how we two ways. One is the shame the the sense of shame that we're gonna experience for our prayerlessness. Why didn't you pray more? Why when you have such a privileged access to his throne, why did you spend such little time in prayer? And then the other side of it is look at the result of the prayers. Look at the result of the prayers of the saints that prayed and by name, that prayed and sought me. For some reason, somehow, someway, our prayers matter. Our prayers tie in with God's will somehow, that we can be participants, that we can be a part of what he's wanting to do in our lives and other people's lives around us, the privilege of the access that we have to live people's lives up in prayer. And so don't underestimate the ministry that you have of prayer. Betty's praying for her her granddaughter. Betty's praying for her son and his marriage. Right? And that's powerful. Well That's powerful. My granddaughter's kind of on the Gothic. Mom, she's not kind of. She's kinda gothic, and she's went to these meetings. I forget what they are. But yesterday, I was talking to her. I called her. She passed her test for being a certified masseuse. And she was where I was saying, woo hoo and stuff. I said, I knew you could pass it. I knew you were smart enough. And she said, yes. She said, I'm very thankful. And I just about died. I said, well, I'm thankful for it too. And that was something that's very unusual, and my brain went right away. My prayers are maybe they're gonna get answered. They are. Don't yeah. Your prayers are powerful. But it was so funny. She said, I'm so thankful. Well, that's all we wanna hear from our kids and grandkids, gratitude. Thankfulness. Yeah. It's heart of gratitude. And God, that's what he wants from us, gratitude rather than whining, complaining. Mhmm. Praise, you know? Praise the Lord. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Right? In everything, on some things. Then Micaiah, verse 13, declared unto them all the words that he had heard when Baruch read the book in the hearing of the people. So the leaders are told again. And therefore, all the princes sent Jehudi, the son of Nithaniah, the son of Shemalai, the son of Cushai, unto Baruch saying, take in thine hand the scroll from which thou has read in the hearing of the people and come. So Baruch, the son of Niriah, took the scroll in his hand and came unto him. And so important for you and I, we had this verse. We used it a lot during COVID, and Hebrews ten twenty five, neglect not the assembling of yourselves together as a manner of some is Yes. Especially as you see the day of the Lord approaching, how important it is for us to attend church. Mhmm. Kathy made a point today where she well, she did today, but I've been seeing the football playoffs are taking place right now in in Buffalo. The Buffalo Bills are in the playoffs. And some of these stadiums, these people are so fanatical. So you're a Jesus freak. Right? A Jesus freak is a fanatic. You're a fanatic. So you're a fan. You're a fan of Jesus. You're a fanatic. And fans do crazy things. They're so in love with their team. They paint their faces. They take their shirts off in a blizzard, and they go to football games, you know, bare breasted, no no no shirts on, sitting in the snow. The snow's all over them, and they're trying to watch a football game. The other thing they're doing is the owners of these stadiums are inviting the fans to come shovel out the seats because the seats these outdoor stadiums, the seats are just covered with snow. And so, I mean, these are fan fanatical. You know? If they get a glimpse if they get just a little glimpse of one of their heroes, you know, plays football or whatever, you know, it's all worthy. You know? And and we have Jesus to worship. Amen. And that's why yesterday, I didn't want anyone in any way, shape, or form to quench the joy and the blessing of Cheryl being baptized. Oh, yes. It's her idea to be baptized. It's her idea to do it in cold water. You know? I didn't need to make it more palatable for her or whatever. She knew the cost, and she was stoked, and she invited her family. And she had people saying, it's too cold. It's too cold. It's too cold. You know? And it's like, get over it. Get over it. She's zealous. If football players can go in the snow bare breasted and all that, and for their gods, you know, why can't a Christian take the risk of going in a polar plunge baptism? And she's dancing out there. She's so excited, you know? And if we want to fixate on all that can go wrong, or possibly could go wrong, or we're never going to experience the joy. We're going to quench the moment. We're going to quench what's going on. And so I just encourage you to never never be in a situation where you lack faith, and you're you're when David was coming in after a great victory, he's dancing, and the wife that he got from Saul began to mock him because he the king was dancing. He had his outer garment off and everything. And don't ever be like that. Don't ever quench the joy and enthusiasm and the zeal that is exhibited toward God and the excitement of of as we as we meet together, and as we serve, and as we worship, and as we all these things. It it's it's like the 10 spies, their unbelief poisoned the hearts of the people, and that's how that's what unbelief can do. And there's so many warnings in the book of Hebrews of unbelief. So many warnings failing to enter into God's rest because of unbelief. And so I I had to fight off a lot of million suggestions. You know, I'm exaggerating. But what I went away from is what I thought I was gonna get to go away with, and that is a very zealous brand new baby Christian that could trust God enough to do the polar plunge and to dance and celebrate and invite her mom and and everybody. And but for some people, I can't even get out of bed. Won't make the effort to even get out of bed to come to church on a cold day, snowy day. No. Not gonna make the effort. Sad, isn't it? Yeah. Sad. It's how much do we how much do we love the Lord? Are we still as excited as Cheryl? Are we as excited about the Lord when we first got saved and that honeymoon experience with him? Has it has it gone away? Yeah. Are we are we bored with Jesus? Yeah. Is there something on TV more important? You know? I know guys that are addicted to football. Every Sunday morning, they're watching football. You know? I know guys addicted to a lot of different things, and Jesus just is kind of one of many things they enjoy, but he's not the person they enjoy, the one they worship. So God help us that we would miss out when the reading and teaching of God's word. What if these guys blew it off? They didn't want to be there. What if they what if they I don't need to hear that. Hey. These wise men came all the way from Babylon. They said they saw the star of the Messiah. Mhmm. And I'm I'm too busy to go check it out in Bethlehem. You guys go and come back and tell me. You know? That's the heart of an unbeliever. Right? Well, that's how unbelievers are. Get in your car, go over there and check it out. You know? Be excited about the soon return of Jesus. Be excited about the rapture. Be excited about prophecy. Don't don't try to water it down and quench the excitement of people who are looking for his return. You know? Don't fight against the doctrine of the rapture. And and don't 70% of churches teach prophecy? That's sad. Do you know how exciting it is to be a student of prophecy? Yeah. Very sad. So therefore, all the princes sent Jehudai the son of Nehemiah, the Nethaniah, the son of Shalomiah, son of Cushai, of Baruch saying, take in thine hand the scroll from which thou hast read and the hearing of the people, and some and come. So Baruch the son of Niriah took the scroll in his hand and came unto them. And they said unto him, sit down now and read it in our hearing. So Baruch read it in their hearing. So this is a private reading. We've had our public reading, and, you know, guys like Jonathan Edwards and George Whitfield. Whitfield, they said his voice could travel super far, he could George Whitfield could preach outdoor preaching, and like 10,000 people could come and attend outdoors and hear him. Yes. Unbelievable. Ain't that crazy? And and you might have a big crowd or you might have just one person the Lord wants you to speak to. You just be faithful what God's called you to do. Now it came to pass when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear. What kind of fear is that? Uh-oh. Hopefully. Yeah. One that leads to repentance. Yeah. Uh-huh. Is it the fear that leads to repentance? Uh-huh. Hopefully. Hopefully. No. It isn't. No. It wasn't? No. It was killing me. Repentance here. There's no repentance. Yes. If we read on, they're gonna kill the messenger. Oh, really? Fear of losing their just losing their stuff. Fear of just really? So when we get when we there's a godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and there's a worldly sorrow. The worldly sorrow is a fear that America's gonna collapse and my way of life's gonna be over. Oh. Bummer. It's all about me. It's the sorrow Judah had Judas. My plan didn't work, and he went out and went bitterly. That's a worldly sorrow. Very. But the sorrow that Nancy's alluding to, the godly sorrow leads to repentance, not to be repented of. Right? Yeah. So when your sorrow when you're convicted by the holy spirit, if they'd have been convicted by the holy spirit, then we look at the fear. It's a type of fear, the fear of the Lord. That's what America needs to fear of the Lord. Mhmm. The fear of the Lord leads to what? Repentance. And wisdom Wisdom. And knowledge. Right? Repentance, wisdom, knowledge. I have the wisdom and I have the knowledge in knowing what God requires of me, which is to turn from my sin. So all the time our relationship with the Lord is being adjusted. There's always adjustments, and it's not an adjustment of, you know, I gotta work harder, read more, pray more, whatever. There's always an adjustment in my heart of just transparency before the Lord in confessing sin, turning from that sin, and, you know, and moving forward based upon the finished work upon the cross, and God's grace, and his love, and his mercies toward me. And but there's times where I need to I need to have ears to hear what the spirit's saying. I need to listen. I need to I need to if the Holy Spirit's convicting me about something when I'm in church or at home or wherever in the car, I need to heed that that voice. I need to listen to that voice, and with my next breath, I just need to say just real quickly, oh, Lord, you're right. Please forgive me. And it's over. It's gone. Mhmm. Fellowship's restored. But if I try to cover that sin like David did, I could go a year, two years being a hypocrite. And it gets worse and it gets worse and it gets worse if you try to cover your sin. A man that tries to cover sin will not prosper. So this fear here, it should lead to repentance, but the sun that softens the wax hardens the clay. So Pharaoh, when he's convicted, he should have followed through with obedience and let the people go. But because he didn't act and he went to bed, his heart hardened over the night, and in the morning, he said, no, I'm not gonna let him go. You know? Kept changed his mind. So if the Lord touches you and you have the faculties, the spiritual faculties to sense the the fear of the Lord based upon the truth, they they're hearing this and they know this is true. Twenty three years, and this is what Jeremiah told is happening, and this is in fact what is happening. So you've got a track record of God's word coming true. It's not just the words of Jeremiah. And said to Baruch, we will surely tell the king all of these words. So the king wasn't there. And they asked Baruch saying, tell us how tell us now how did thou write all these words at his mouth. How did you do that? Then Baruch answered them, he pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book. And that's what Peter through Betty told us tonight. Second Peter one twenty and twenty one. These holy men of God, these prophets spake, and then it was written down. God spoke through these men. So the transmission, the transmitting of God's word comes through the prophet from God through the prophet down to the written page. And AI is gonna try and do it somehow with a database of vast amounts of information with a knowledge in a database of what people wanna hear and write it in such a way it'll be the best selling book of the year. The Satanic Bible. And they asked Baruch saying, tell us how okay. And then Baruch answered his mouth, and I wrote them in the book. So the book, what's the word bible mean? Book. Book. The book. Yeah. So if you were to use the bible as an acronym, b I b l e, what does the b I b l e stand for? The book. Heard the guy over there say it. And bringing case. Say it again, Brandon. Uriah fled, and he fled to Egypt. And they sent El Nathen, went to Egypt and grabbed hold of him, brought him back and killed him because of the message that Uriah had to the king. They don't like they don't like to be told these things. Trudeau in Canada had some police arrest a reporter simply for asking a question Uh-huh. And spent the night in jail. And then now they're trying to do damage control, saying they won't do that again. Yeah. Right? You're just getting started. You're just getting started That's right. With your censorship, you know? And you're gonna wanna censor everything, you know? You're gonna make it hate speech, hate crimes. You use the wrong pronoun, you know? What pronouns do you identify as? Well, I'm not an old man. That's all I know. All right? So I'm in denial. So is it okay to go hide? No. It's okay to flee? Think Yeah. No? Sleep. Yeah. I don't know about hiding. The one third remnant is gonna hide and flee. What's that? The one third remnant is gonna flee. They're gonna flee. I mean, Joseph fled. They fled. That's a good one. They went to Egypt. Oh, We're leaving Washington State. We're leaving. But we leave She's going to Montana. She's gonna flee. Gonna leave the blue state. Uh-huh. A lot of people leaving the blue state. Oh. Anybody staying? Yeah. Probably. Yes. Now the apostle Paul, there was a time where he's in Damascus. There she is. And Mhmm. He he was a marked man. He lets him know. I'm like, it's Church let him they they snuck him out of town by a basket over the wall. Oh, yeah. And I don't think Paul liked that, but he did it, and he lived to fight another day. Moses Lee, Joseph fled fled. Joseph fled? Uh-huh. He went to Egypt. But that was unwilling. Yeah. He was Slayed. Beaten and taken and sold into slavery. Being sold. Yeah. But as he fled, he was blessed. Yeah. Yeah. Moses fled. Fled from king Saul for ten years. Mhmm. Hid from him. Mark man. Right? And Moses Moses fled. Yeah. Moses ran to Midian Yeah. Out of Egypt. So when God says flee, flee. Now there's a whole lot of people in Germany that stayed back because they had businesses, and they kept telling themselves, oh, it'll pass. It'll be okay. But any Jews that liquidated their assets and took and put it in the form of diamonds and put it in the sleeves of their coats, on the inside of their coats, they got out pre 1938. If they got out, they survived, and they began to go to New York and, you know, live to talk about another day. Dietrich Bonhoeffer fled and escaped, traveled to New York, and he loved going to black churches. He loved the worship in the black churches, and but he began to think of the plight of the people in Germany, and he went back. And he tried to fight against Hitler, you know, with the radio and warning people. And, you know, the story eventually, was hung by piano wire naked just before the end of the war. So it's a matter of conscience. It's a matter of what the Lord's leading and guiding you to do. And I do you wanna flee, honey? No. See? My wife doesn't wanna flee. So we're staying. Alright. So so why do you stay? You stay because that's where God called you. Sometimes the Lord will call you to be a martyr. Mhmm. Right? Mhmm. Sometimes you're you're told to stay and be my martyr. And other times, you're told to run, to go, especially people with little children. I could sense the huge desire to flee and to hide and to preserve, you know, your children. So I'm gonna go home and watch Sound of Music tonight. That's what I'm gonna do. So and they went into the king, into the court, but they laid up the scroll in the chamber of El Shammah the scribe and told all the words in the hearing of the king. So the king knew there's no excuses for the king, and to much is given, much is required. In Luke twelve forty seven, those who are given much, those who know and fail to fulfill, fail to obey, are gonna be beaten with many stripes in the judgment. Those who didn't know are gonna be beaten with few stripes, so there can be a graduated punishment in hell. People that know, people that should know better, people that have a bible, people that are told directly, knowledge brings responsibility. We're responsible for that knowledge, for that information. What are you gonna do with that sermon? You're going to have selective hearing and make it so it's not applicable to you? It doesn't apply to you? You're the exception? Or are you going to apply these truths to your life and bring growth, you know, into your home and into your life? So for many of us, pain is used of God. It becomes a crisis. And in that crisis, we start to listen, not only listen, but being doers of the word, not hearers only. So our house is built upon a rock when we're doers of the word. The king's not gonna be a doer of the word. He's not gonna apply it. Instead, he's going to be an antagonist. He's gonna be an enemy of God. He's gonna try and he's gonna burn the book, gonna be like the Nazis. So the king said, Jehudai fetched the scroll and he took it out of El Shammuz, the scribe's chamber, and Jehudai read it in the hearing of the king. And in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king. So they all heard, the common people, little group of guys, some of the leadership. Now the king and all of his people, they've all heard. Everybody, You know, god god loves to send two witnesses and establish a fact. Well, he sent Jeremiah and Baruch, and he's established it. They've all all heard it. You can't claim you didn't know. And in Romans one, god says, I sent the stars to speak to you. I sent creation to speak to you. You know? And if you you're without excuse simply because of creation. You can't say you didn't know. Now the king sat in the winter house in the ninth month, and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him. So the guy's got a cold heart, he's a little cold, and I hope your guys' heaters are all working. It's nice and toasty in here, but he was in his winter place with a fire burning before him. And it came to pass that when Houdai had read three or four of the columns, he cut it with a penknife and cast it into the fire. That was on the hearth until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. So mock mocking God. God's not mocked. Whatsoever man sows us, he'll also reap. So censoring, how how much do governments hate the truth and hate the truth of the Bible? To what lengths will governments go to keep the Bible out of school, prayer out of school? Why is the Bible such a threat Yeah. To secular, you know, governments and society? If it wasn't true, it should be irrelevant. Right? Yeah. Right. Who cares? It must be true. Right? Mhmm. Mhmm. There must be a whole lot of truth here that they're so afraid of the word of God. The devil hates the word of God. Why is that, Kathy? You'll know the truth, and the truth will set you free. The devil wants to bind people in ignorance, bind people They keep them there. Yeah. So I love being a teacher of the truth. I love being a student of the truth because you can see the light bulb go on so often and people, I never saw that. I never heard that, and it sets them free. And so we we continue to try and wake people up from the spell they're under. Much of the people in our culture are under a spell, an occultic, demonic spell, like like, spiritually speaking, they just they just don't get it. You you're talking to them, trying to explain things to them, and they willingly go along with evil. They believe all the evil. You can't you can't wake them up. You can't get them to understand. It can be very, very frustrating. It's like the Bible is the antidote to their to their evil. Mhmm. They don't want you to have the antidote. Right. People that are ignorant are more easily controlled. And so if they can keep the freedom that comes with being set free now what's interesting is in China, we've been told for many years, fastest growing church one of the fastest growing churches in the world is in China, in Iran right now. But just like in Rome, so too in Rome, the Christians are the best citizens and the best workers even if it's a communist society. They get up and they go to work. They put in a good day's work because they're not working for Mao. They're working for Jesus. Right? And 60,000,000 slaves in the Roman Empire, and they're working for Jesus. Right? The only time they buck the Caesar is when the Caesar tries to be god. That's when they say no. Jesus is lord. But if the Caesar operates, you know, in such a way with this authority delegated from god, then then they do what they're supposed to do and willingly for the glory of god. But when the Caesar when when government crosses the line and wants to be as god, that's where the people say, no. Not not gonna do that. Even at the threat of death. Even at threat of death. What's that? I don't wanna be as god. Well, I I played it for you last week. I were you here last week? No. I wasn't. Oh, okay. So part of what I wanted to say is last week, I played a tape from the Donald Trump campaign, and basically, the the phrase is God gave us Trump. Now I posted it on our Facebook Calvary Chapel Bremerton site today, and I posted a Leo Holman article on our Calvary Chapel Bremerton site where Leo Holman is saying, Noah Yuval Harari is prognosticating that Trump will win the election. Oh. Okay? Now but he will not serve as president like he did before. So according to Noah Yuval Harari and Leo Homan, they're gonna use the military to, stop Trump from making America great, gonna tie his hands. And but they're gonna let him all the people know that he's elected, that he won. And so that what they're gonna do is they're gonna try and spark civil war is what they're gonna do. Absolutely. And so you have to understand the left right paradigm, they're on the same team. So now you're being played where Trump's coming in, as I've been telling you, as the Judas goat. He's the Judas turncoat, Trojan horse that's coming in, and he's gonna be appointed president, not elected because he was elected last time, but Biden was appointed. Do you see the difference? So to create the social engineering they're doing. So he's gonna lead these poor people that are gonna trust him as messiah to the slaughter. Now JD Frog, I posted his thing. So last week, I did this Trump thing, put it here at the microphone, and it's on the Calvary Chapel Bremerton thing where God gave us Trump. So it's like a messianic kind of a thing. So JD was out of town, but he came back in. And this Sunday, yesterday, he, in his prophecy segment, brought up that video that I posted and played, and he gave me a little bit of background from it. It's from Paul Harvey. You guys remember Paul Harvey? Mhmm. And Paul Harvey, the phrase was, god gave us a farmer, a farmer like Ray and Betty. And then he went through all the blessings of having a farmer. Right? Paul Harvey did. Well, AI technology took that Paul Harvey and switched to rooted and made it for Trump. Oh, no. Like a Christ, as a messiah. So that's more information we have this week from last week. Now one of the hardest things I have as a pastor is extricating people from trusting in false prophets, trusting in idols. JD has the same trouble. People wanna hear that somehow we're gonna elect somebody that's gonna bring this country back. That's what's happening here. They're ignoring God. They're continuing to go in the direction they are. Nobody calling them to repent except Jeremiah, but the false prophets are coming saying, Nebuchadnezzar is never gonna destroy this city. Jeremiah's a liar. Jeremiah's a liar. You know? And so JD, I just love watching his videos each week because it seems like he and I are very, very like minded. Now if I look at some of the other guy's videos, they're on these rabbit trails all over the place, and sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't, but I never ever ever hear any of them say anything bad about Trump because so many people in these churches still believe that somehow we can win America back. We can get it back. That's the idol is America. So it's patriotism. It's patriotism to the to the nth degree. So if you don't recognize the problem as the church's judgment begins in the house of god, that people have turned their back upon god by and large in America, and then you bring forth a false prophet, a false messiah that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24, you're being played. There's no call to repentance with Trump. He never sinned in his life, but he's gonna take on the globalist, and he's gonna win. You know? We're gonna take this country back. So it's a it's a false false message. But I am thankful for pastor JD and couple other guys that seem to seem to get it, seem to understand. I hope you guys get it. I hope Mhmm. I hope it's real clear to you. So and you gotta go through a lot of mocking. A lot of guys mock me and say that a lot of things that I post never happen, never come true. And they mock me saying, why is he posting politics? Why is he talking about COVID and these kind of things? Because I'm trying to save lives. I'm trying to wake people up. I'm trying to warm people. I'm trying to help them extricate themselves from from this bubble they're in and and wake them up. The judgment's coming. If we don't repent, judgment's coming. It's here, and you're being played. So when it came to pass when Jehudi had read three or four columns, he cut it with the penknife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. So is not my word like a fire, the Lord says, you know, burning up the chaff? And in Hebrews four twelve, the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, dividing the sunder of soul and spirit and joint and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. God's word cut the heart of the king. God's word cut the heart. That was the fear these guys had. It penetrated. So when we preach and teach the truth, in many cases, the word of God cuts people. It cuts them to the heart. And that's why they get angry, and that's why they storm out because of their pride. You can't talk to me like that. Do you know who I am? And and they storm out of there. Now what are they looking for? They're looking for teachers having itching ears who will tell them what they want to hear. We don't want that. We we wanna hear from the Lord and the full counsel of God. So he threw the so he's, you know, he just throws it into the fire. Can you imagine throwing the Bible in the fire? Man. Cast it into the fire that was on the hearth until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. So we had the Roxy, we had Bibles there, and a lot of these Bibles have really cool paper, really nice, I don't know, like rice paper or something. And a lot of people walking by, and they'd steal the bible. We'd have a bible there, you know, on the table. Steal the bible? Why do you wanna steal a bible? And then the ex druggies told me, Rick, they take the pages and they roll their joints with it. You know? Yeah. It gets very Oh, I sell. You roll them. You roll those years ago, I rolled cigarettes. Not marijuana. I just do this. Yeah. You're right. Very good. You know? Can you imagine smoking a doobie with a bible on the bible? No. I can't. You I think you would choke on it. Yeah. Or or how about this? You go to church and they're fighting with me over the word of God. Let's just rip that page out. Here. Here. Let's just rip that out. That doesn't apply to you. Here. Just, you know, throw it in the fire. You know? Yeah. So you're gonna pick and choose what's god's word and what's not god's word. It's all his word. You know? Who are you to rip a page out of the bible or to, you know, to deny the the authority of God's word? And what I think well, I think I don't care what you think. What's the bible say? Or my therapist said, or, you know, I don't care what your therapist said. You know? And Obama said you know, Oprah said, you know, who cares what they said? What's the word of God had to say? So we we try to bring everybody back to the authority of God's word, and that's why they don't like us. They don't like, they wanna hear what they wanna hear. And like I said earlier, if if I want people to like me, then I'm gonna sell candy. I'm gonna sell ice cream. I'm gonna make it something that can digest, that brings pleasure to them, not bitterness. Judgment that comes is is bitter in the belly, and people don't like that bitter pill of the judgment that's coming. So you drink this castor oil and you'll feel better. Well, I don't like that castor oil. Well, you'll feel better afterwards. Alright. So that was on the hearth until all the scrolls consumed the fire that was on the hearth. Yet they were not afraid nor tore their garments, neither the king nor any of his servants that heard all these words. So these guys are reprobates. They're they're like, Robbie would give us the words, psychopaths, narcissists, past feeling, their conscience cauterized, cut, severed with a hot iron, you know, past feeling as Paul would say. So God's given us a conscience. Even unbelievers have a conscience where when they do something wrong, they know murder's wrong. They know lying's wrong. But after a point in time of continuing in denying that voice of their conscience, they can cauterize it. They can make it past feeling where they can sin with impunity and not not care anymore. They're past feeling. And they can just burst into people's homes and pull men and women and children out of the house and send them into the rail cars to the gas chambers. You know, it doesn't bother them. They're past feeling. Sun that softens that melts the wax hardens the clay. But the king commanded Jeremiah, the son of Hamalek, and Sirai, the son of Israel, and Shemaiah, the son of Abdel, to take Baruch, the scribe, and Jeremiah, the prophet, but the lord did hide them. The lord hid them. Right? Mhmm. You're gonna live to fight another day. More work to do. As I said in acts nine twenty five, Paul was led out by a basket, and he were he describes it in second Corinthians eleven thirty three verse 27. Then the word of the lord came to Jeremiah after the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah saying, take thee again another scroll and write it all, the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, has burned. So God has the last word. God speaks. And, there's no quit. You don't quit. You just do it let's do it again. And right in all the the king of Judah has burned. So God saw the evil and and thou shall say to Jehoiakim, of Judah. So he can't hide from the truth. Gonna bring it back to him again. Thus saith the Lord, thou has burned this scroll saying, why has thou written in it saying the king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land and shall cause to cease in it man and beast? And so there's consequences. The consequences of rejecting God's word, he's gone as far as he can. He's called you under repentance. He's called you and called you and called you and called you. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but your disobedience brings consequences, consequences of judgment. And even in our lives, whom the Lord loves, he chastens and he scourges every son or daughter. So our disobedience, persisting in disobedience. So I like to differentiate between sin and rebellion. How would you differentiate between sin and rebellion? Continuing in sin is rebellion. So we all sin, and we all make mistakes. Anybody that's a leader, any husband, father, mother, all of us in our roles, we sin and we make mistakes. We make bonehead decisions. We things that don't work out right for the family, all that kind of stuff. Then you sit back and you think, Lord, why did that happen? And everybody wants the formula of how to get the blessings and why the bad things happen. And so I like as I'm thinking about that, if the Lord were to mark iniquities, who could stand? That's number one. Psalm a 138. If he were to mark iniquities, who could stand? If the Lord were to cause an effect on everything we do and only bless those who do everything right, you know, who could stand? We're all sinners. We all commit iniquity. So the blessings in our life are by God's grace. The times of failure and, suffering, affliction, all that, also by God's grace. My grace is sufficient for you, Paul. My strength is protected in weakness. So there's things to learn there. But what I always try to remind myself is you want a second guess and you listen to your critics and people say, well, he did this and he did that and he did this and he did that. And the only thing I can come back to is I never ever ever persisted in disobedience. I made bad decisions. I made decisions and did things that didn't work out, but I never set my heart in rebellion against God and said, no, I won't do that. I was trying as best I could tell to serve the Lord and to obey his will, his revealed will in my life. And so I and I think the Lord deals with us in different ways in that regard. If I harden my heart against the Lord and I persist in that disobedience, then there's a there's a real bad point of of judgment that's going to come against me. So if we're practicing sin in first John, continuing in sin, then there's a point where the Lord's going to expose us and judge us. We see it we see it all the time in unfaithfulness and and things that finally come out and that, you know, take down a lot of the lot of the pastors and spiritual leaders and stuff. And I believe if they would listen to the Lord and confess that sin and repent of that sin, I believe they can evade a public humiliation and judgment that they're caught, you know, in a hotel with a woman in Indio, California. Jimmy Swaggart was caught, that wasn't the first time he did it. So along the way, he could have repented. He could he could have listened to the Holy Spirit and said, I gotta stop doing this. And I believe he could have, you know, saved his ministry or saved his marriage or something, you know? God always gives space for repentance. We all sin. But if you persist in your sin, be confident, know this, Moses said it, your sin will find you out. Or in Galatians, God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. So we don't we don't want a persistent sin. I admit I'm a sinner. I admit I could have done a much better job at things. I wish I had hindsight. I wish I could go back, but I know I'm in God's will, and and I I don't wanna repeat past mistakes. But there's no way I want to allow bitterness in and allow a hard heart in and find myself in rebellion to God. I I want to stay soft and broken and humble and walk by faith, trusting that God knows what he's doing even if I can't understand it. This guy's in in full blown disobedience. And I can understand the judgment that's coming on him because of his persistent disobedience. I don't know if you've been like this. If someone's come to you and confronted you and challenged you like God sent Nathan the prophet to David and confronted him, David repented. But David for a year covered his sin. I think in many cases when things go sideways for us, a lot of people are like Job's comforters. They have no concept or understanding of what's really happening. And then you're like a leper. You can't explain it away. You can't fix it. You can't describe, you know, the whole thing. So God's in control. We're not. And we walk by faith knowing that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purposes. So there's consequences for rebellion here. This is rebellion. Would differentiate God's not bringing judgment because these people sinned. He's bringing judgment because they persist in sinning. And we expect that, don't we? Therefore, thus saith the Lord of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, he shall have none to sit upon the throne of David. So four different consequences for rejecting God. He's not gonna have anybody sit upon the throne of David, number one. And his dead body shall be cast out into the in the day to the heat in the night of the frost. So humiliating burial, not a proper burial. And I will punish him and footnote, the antichrist and the false prophet are gonna have the same type of situation. When the Lord Jesus comes at Basra, he's gonna destroy the antichrist and the false prophet with the brightness of his coming and the sword of his men. No burial. And they're gonna be taken and cast into the lake of fire immediately. So and thirdly, and I'll punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity. Now that's a bummer. That's a bummer that your whole family would be punished because of dad's huge disobedience. And I don't believe in generational sins in that, alright. I'm I'm suffering because my dad did this back there. No. Every man in Ezekiel, we're told every person's accountable for their own sin. I give an account for me, not what anybody else has done. So no matter what your family was into before you became a Christian, that's not coming back down upon you. It has to be more along the lines of the family was in cahoots with them. They were all going along, you know, with this sort of thing. And he's not gonna bless the family. And so I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity, so your kids that are around at that time. And I'll bring upon them the fourth indictment. I'll bring upon, the inhabitants of Jerusalem and upon the men of Judah all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they hearken not. So God tells you what I'm gonna do if you don't repent. And the Lord says now, alright. Now now I'm gonna do it because of your proud rebellion, because of your gay pride in the streets of Tel Aviv, in the streets of Vegas and LA and Seattle and in your churches, your proud rebellion against me. Then took Jeremiah another scroll and gave it to Baruch, the scribe, the son Narayah, who wrote in it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire, and there were added besides unto them many like words. So more details. So another book is written Matthew twenty four thirty five, Jesus said, heaven and earth will pass away, but my word will not pass away. My word will live forever. So people can try as much as they want to have book burning parties and change history and remove all the books from the libraries and rewrite history and try to eliminate the Bible from it, or even write new Bibles and take away the power of God's word and to water it down and make it an AI Bible. The Chinese government has a Chinese bible. You know? You can switch it around and make people worship Mao, bring somebody else to be a, you know, a different Jesus or slip in there, you know, hey. Good to work hard, but give your allegiance to the state. You know, all different little twists and turns, false doctrine mixed in that people unsuspecting wouldn't know. Yeah. Well, I didn't know for a long time that the Catholics had added chapters in their bible. Mhmm. I don't know what they say, but I've heard that they have added chapters. Oh, we don't need to worry about it. Uh-huh. We got the real one. Uh-huh. So we're gonna have we're gonna close with Robbie reading Isaiah fifty five eleven again. K. She's got such a good reading voice. Rob's is pretty good, but I like. Isaiah fifty five eleven. Yep. The confidence that we have in God's word. So will my word be which goes forth from my mouth. It will not return to me empty without accomplishing what I desire and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Amen. So we can put our confidence in God and his word. We don't need to come up with any new programs, plans, philosophies, lovers of philosophy. We just stay with the word of God. We go from Genesis to Revelation, teaching the bible verse by verse with the confidence that God is gonna speak to his people and feed his people his holy word. Right? Mhmm. So father, we thank you so much. Thank you for your word. Thank you for giving us each a bible. Thank you for your holy spirit that helps us hide your word within our heart, and bring into remembrance when we when we need to be able to give a an answer to a man that asks a reason for the hope that's within us, Lord. And we can share that blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and savior, Titus two thirteen, Lord, and so many other passages of scripture that are so applicable in the times in which we're living and are so pertinent, so ready, so pregnant with fulfillment. And, Lord, we're very, very excited about looking up and watching for your soon return. And we're also excited, Lord, the fields are white under harvest. People are gonna be losing hope in men as time goes on this next year. And, Lord, we pray that they would look up, that we could introduce them to you, that we would that, Lord, we would be about our father's business, that we'd occupy till you come proclaiming the glorious good news of your coming kingdom. Lord, we pray that you'd turn Kitsap County upside down, that many would come to your wondrous love, that many would hear of you, Lord, that you would prompt us and teach us to pray and help us to pray effectively. And, Lord, we pray for those who are sick, that you, the great physician, would heal. We pray for those that are discouraged, that you would encourage. And, Lord, we pray that we'd make good use of our time, that, today is the day of salvation, and that, Lord, we we'd be fruitful, that we'd bear much fruit, that we'd see your word, Lord, permeate and penetrate people's hearts and soften and and bring forth fruit. So pour out your holy spirit, Lord. Bless, we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. And happy birthday to Rick Plito.
