Welcome back to Be Not Deceived. I'm so glad to be here again with some special guests with me and also a special subject that we're gonna be talking about, that the earth is not a globe or round as we might think, that they are they're thinking that it might be flat. And I didn't know that this was actually something that somebody would dive into or even believe as a Christian since we look at God's creation and we look at our earth as it is right now. We look up at the moon and the sun, and we can see all the elements work together as God has created it. But today, we're gonna dive into many aspects of discovering what they're talking about, and we're gonna look at it in astronomical aspects of it too. So I have, my guest here today, a wonderful pastor, pastor Rick Baudry for from Bremerton, Calvary Chapel, Bremerton. And I thank you for coming and being a part of this, this group discussion. I have Mark Dinsmar again, as, joining us in this panel of, Flat Earth discussion, and I thank you for coming. And first time guests, I have a pastor Kevin Lee, and he is from Calvary Church of Port Orchard and thank you for joining us today. Husband Rob in and we're gonna talk a little bit about the astronomical part of our discussion. So I'm gonna get up and I'm gonna let my seat? Nope. He's gonna come right here. I think it's very exciting to think that apart from the the biblical foundation that we're establishing, You you have to look at the earth and God's creation, and we use scientific method that God has given us to be able to validate his creation. So we use science to actually help us understand how God did certain things. Not everything. It's impossible for us to understand everything, but we can understand certain things, how he did things. And describing gravity, I mean, that's that's so interesting. You know, when when we talk about if the a flat earth doesn't believe in gravity, well, then they then they're relying on a barrier. They're relying on a a a a ice barrier around the edge to keep the water from falling off. But what's causing the water to fall off? Is there gravity below pulling the water off? Because if there wasn't, then the water would just slip off and go off somewhere else. So there is a gravitational idea even behind their own Well, that water is going to fall off by what they were saying, by the earth, the flat earth, the flat disk, round or square, depending on which argument they are using, accelerating. Accelerating to cause it. But again, you have to keep accelerating ever since creation. You have to accelerate. Constantly forever. To do that, it's interesting because a lot of the ideas that are applying to these systems are observable in closed systems that we can look at. So we can understand centrifugal force. If I take a stick and tie a string to it and spin it around, that's a force that I can observe. But that same force doesn't apply on a larger system like the Earth. We're not sitting on here traveling at 40,000 miles an hour getting flung off because the Earth is rotating. It doesn't work that way. Just like you were explaining with the gravitational. We we will migrate back to each other because of our own gravitational effect. But the thing that I wanna talk about, the astronomical portions, is that when someone is using evidence that they perceive to validate their point, but that evidence they're using is completely misconstrued. It's alarming because I've spent a vast majority of my life building and using telescopes. Refracting telescopes, which require objectives and a lens, as most people understand, the light travels to the tube and comes to a focal point. And we're a reflector where the light reflects off a mirror and that light's collected. The YouTube experts will post on their sites images that they're trying to describe as angelic beings because in this flat earth theology, stars are not masses of gas and balls of energy that we understand them to be, they're actually angelic beings. They're cherub or they're seraphim of some form. And we read in Ezekiel where we're describing angels or cherubisms as being wheels within wheels, a very descriptive language. And for them to identify that, they'll look at a star and they'll point out to that star through their video observations, this is what a cherub looks like. And what they're showing us, which is the saddest part, is that a telescope they're using to to to see these stars and see these objects, and they're describing what they see from their perspective. But what's sad is that any optical instrument, any any any use of an optical train as a telescope, be it a reflector which reflects the light, or a refractor which refracts the light. Now there's two elements that are involved. The light comes in, and we all know that lights light is is produced or is transmitted through waves. And we have astronomical, deal with the red frequencies, the blues, and the greens. These are all light waves that travel at different speeds and have different waveforms. When that light comes in, that straight light comes into a mirror, it hits the mirror, the mirror, because of its surface, is either spherical or paraboloidal. That light has to focus back to another mirror, which then turns that light around to an eyepiece that we can actually see. So that light is being ref being reflected back, bent and reflected back to a focal point. Well, in in that, there are aberrations that are created because there's there's no way you can bend light and not have something happen to the light. And so one of the effects of light as it travels straight, when we trap, we force that light through an aperture. The light creates a situation called, it's an aberration which is bending the light so you have diffraction. The light is diffracted. So the light comes in straight, but when it goes to an aperture, the light, for some strange reason, bends. So when you're testing a telescope and you're looking at a star, the light comes into the telescope, the light is bent back to a focal point. When I look at a star that is in focus, the star looks like a tight little white little dot. We'll just say any star is a white dot. But if I defocus that star, if I focus it in focus or out of focus, that's when I will see the diffraction rings around that star. So what it does, and I have some examples and we'll post them, is the starlight will diffract into a large ring. And these there's rings, conical rings that form in this. It's a type of halo. Exactly. Like a halo. But those rings are are the light waves themselves being diffracted into rings. And that is a that is a result of what the telescope is doing at an out of focus image or an you have what's known as focus, before focus, and out of focus, or before focus and inside of focus. So, unfortunately, the flat earthers will use an image of a star that is out of focus. And then they take that image and they superimpose it. They they they magnify it greatly to where the atmospheric distortions of heat cause it to wave and wiggle and move. So then they use this as their evidence of angelic beings, when in fact, it's a it's a it's an artifact of what the telescope is doing. But not the waving and the wiggling, that's atmospheric. And then you have atmospheric on the outside, which is the heat rising up in our atmosphere. We will see stars. When you go outside and look at a star and you see it twinkling. Yeah. The star is twinkling because of the atmosphere. It's not twinkling because it's out there doing some crazy dance. It's not an angel, you know, doing, you know, a break dance. Right. It's what we're seeing with the instrument. So that a refractor is different than a reflector. A refractor reflects the light. A refractor refracts the light. I told you there's light waves we're dealing with, blue, red, and green. As they come in through a refractor, the elements, the two pieces of glass, some telescopes have one piece, some have two, some have three. So you have a singlet, a doublet, and a triplet. But what these do is each piece of glass in that telescope is consisted of a piece of glass that has a different index. It has a different ability to refract the light wave that comes through it. So we have two glasses together, the light comes through, and then they go to a focal point because that light is being refracted to a focal point. But at that focal point, unlike your eye, the red and green light focus at the same point, but the blue light does not. It focuses just a few millimeters or micromillimeters out of focus. So then you have around bright objects, you can have a slight blue halo around the object. Like, some people have they find it dis disillusional, but other people can see past it. But I'm explaining the the mechanics of the optical train in a refractor. So once it creates that that color rainbow, we call it chromatic aberration in a refracting telescope. These flat earthers will use images of a star bloated because it's out of focus. But now that it's out of focus, what what do you do? You accentuate the the out of focus or out of out of aligned light waves. So now it looks like I'm looking at a rainbow. So now these flat earthers are saying, well, look at that rainbow. Now let's go look at the northern lights. Northern The lights, is in the northern hemisphere, that they believe that's where heaven is. Heaven is at the North Star. So they see these aurora borealis, and they see see the colors. That's the glory of God. Therefore, the star we're looking at that's colorful is God's glory. It's God's throne without identifying why they're seeing that in the telescope. The telescope is just an instrument, but if it's used incorrectly can tell you all kinds of bizarre things if you don't understand what you're looking at. I have some pictures of when you're testing a telescope, I build telescopes, which means I would actually build the mirror for the telescope. To do that, you have to build a mirror that has a spherical surface that will focus the light to one point, but if the focal point of that telescope is a short focal point, all the light will not focus to the same point. So you have to convert that spherical surface into a paraboloid. A paraboloid just means that the outer edges of the mirror have a greater circumference than the inner circle. So it's a tighter so you're focusing all these wavelengths to a certain point. So I would build these telescopes and not have to test them. So in doing all of that, I would understand what I'm seeing through an optical train through its design. Well, it's so dis it's so dishonest to see a flat earther take that information that they're looking at without having any scientific understanding. No understanding of optics. No understanding of how light is is is bent, how light is manipulated through that optical train for us to see clearly. Because unlike our own eye, which is God's creation, in this little tiny eyeball, it has a seven millimeter five to seven millimeter aperture, your little iris, little bitty guy. But in that eyeball, you can focus all the light and you never have issues other than when you have defective eyes. You'll have coma or you'll have astigmatism or you'll have some type of malony in the eye. But in that eye, it can perform what we have a very difficult time doing in telescopes because we're trying to do all this. We're trying to correct for coma. We're trying to correct for astigmatisms. We're trying to correct for all kinds of anomalies that will happen in electric in a in a in a optical train. So from my perspective, what I try to add to this conversation is that the evidence that they use to prove their point is totally Attempt to prove. Exactly. Attempt to prove. It's totally erroneous. It would be like trying to tell a person that I'm looking at from across the street, oh, I see you have a guitar there. No. It's not a guitar. It's a ukulele. Well, it looks like a guitar from here, so it's a guitar. But I own the ukulele. I play ukulele. It's not a guitar. It's a ukulele. But but I see a guitar. So it's almost they're they've decided that evidence is their evidence, when it's not evidence at all. It's it's so alarming to see that. Awesome. And what you're describing is, an element of flat earthism is introducing or injecting mysticism, really. It's it's a form of, well, it's a it's a false fabricated distortion of instruments either so the question is, is this witting or is it unwitting? Are they ignorantly doing this or are they intentionally using deception to draw disciples after themselves? Well, I think there could be it can be done in both ways. I think in many cases, it's unwittingly. Yeah. There was a video that a that a flat earther had shown about he he picked a star, and I think it was Cirrus, and he was using a telescope. Now he at least had a telescope, and he knew how to aim it at a star. But in doing this, he was out of focus considerably because when when you focus on a star, what happens to the star? It gets very tiny. Unless you have the magnification, you have the proper eyepiece to in conjunction with the aperture of the objective to give you your magnification scale. If you don't have that to magnify the item, it's gonna be very small. But they wanna see it, so they defocus. When you defocus, this little star turns into a big bloated star. Of course, it doesn't have the resolution. It doesn't have it doesn't have the the the clarity, but it's large. In doing this, you see some rings and you see some defects in in the image, but what is notable is the things that they recognize as not being what they are. So they will see this bloated image, and they'll go and there's it's just distorted and moving in all over the place. And look at that. That's the glory of God moving there. And then then this image shows a hand moving in front of it. It goes, that's the hand of God. And I'm like, what that is? Is a guy filming through his eyepiece a star, and he's seeing. Alright, y'all. This video blew my mind. It's a hand that seems to be mixing up a star. The constellation is supposedly called God's hand. You can literally see a human like hand mixing up what is said to be a star. I've never seen anything like it. Absolutely mind blowing. This is it real time. Notice the x that goes to the middle of It's like a donut. Absolutely mind blowing. Check this out. Is that God or God's hand? Is it a hologram? Let me know what you think in the comments. I've never seen anything like this. The heat waves moving in front of that bloated star, and then someone passes their hand in front of it. The hand the heat waves come off your hand in front of that image. So so what's happening is it's all deception. It's smoke and mirrors because they don't know what they're looking at. It's amateur hour. It absolutely is. So when you're seeing this, you're going they're literally saying this they see it as the hand of God in front of this star. That's a lot like, some things Vicki was telling us earlier about experiences in churches where they believe things are angelic manifestations. William Branham's an example in many of his tent meetings back in the day, he's been photographed with halos which is either photographic dodging or just an aberration in the lens or a lens flare. But his followers attributed these to the presence of angels over him. He asked the teachers to be able to dispel those lies because the lay person may not be up to speed with how to study the Bible, what these words mean, or you know, like with you with the I need someone to teach me. You know what I mean? Yeah. So I didn't come into Calvary Chapel and start telling Chuck, hey, the earth is flat. I didn't have any audacity to challenge everything and just constantly harping on stuff like they do today. They're just totally disrespectful of the truth, first of all. You know I mean? And they think because they're YouTube prophets or whatever that somehow they have the authority of being, I'm an apostle. I'm a prophet. These guys are running around. It's calling themselves, you know? So, I just see it as as like the children he described in Ephesians for there. They're like children and they need to humble themselves and allow themselves to be taught. If you're into astronomy, a teacher teach you how to use a thing. Don't just take the word of some guy a picture that he did. It shows the deliberate malice because the hand thing and the deliberately messing with people's minds, they're not Christians. They can't be. They're deceivers and they know in this day and age you get a few 100,000 people that watch something on YouTube, you get some money. You don't have to go get a real job. You go to Las Vegas, you pay big bucks to watch an illusionist and they do things I've been to Las Vegas, I've seen illusionists, not Las Vegas, but I mean they do things like how could they do that? That's impossible. I mean how did they do that? Well it's a trick to them that they know and they are recognizing other people don't know. How many people know what you just told us? Not me. I didn't know all those things, those fine details of a telescope. And so what the Flat Earthers are relying on is the ignorance. The ignorance of the masses. Yeah. While they purposely deceive as if they're on the stage at Las Vegas, only their audience is everybody that wants to tune into their YouTube channel. Yeah. So now comes the drones, now comes Project Blue Bean, now comes orbs, and a greater level of deception to the masses of people. Who, what is that? And then bring in all the previous These are aliens invading the planet. I mean, this Psyop is so, it's in layers, it's coming. Know and we as we in the church are going to need to be able to, know as when Pastor Chuck was watching the whole Rick Warren phenomenon, his emphasis was stay the course. Keep teaching the Bible because as people, this apostasy increases and people are departing from the truth, you guys don't worry about how big your churches are. You stay the course. And that's what we're trying to do. We're trying to stay the course with this tsunami, this wind of dust, all this deception coming at us. We're simply trying to keep it simple. If they bring a different Jesus, if they bring a different gospel, if they bring a different spirit, don't go that way. You know what mean? So it really is pretty simple what we do, and yet the devil tries to complicate it. It's not that complicated. You know what I mean? It's pretty simple. Yeah. You know? Those aren't angels out there in the sky. That's pretty clear. So third of the stars fell with Lucifer in Revelation 12. Okay, in that case, he's alluding to fallen angels. But that doesn't mean those stars are the stars out there. I mean, it's so basic. It's just so basic. The audacity to believe or conceive that we can have a physical instrument like a telescope perceive and touch our elements of heaven. It's preposterous. We got to define heaven too because one of their main things is the firmament. So the verse six of Genesis one, the firmament, because their whole firmament thing is just a bubble. I'll lay out to them, Paul said, knew a man whether in Christ or in the body or out of the body caught up with third heaven. Second Corinthians 12. So, you explain to him, hey, the first heaven, the firmament that you're alluding to is the expanse of where the birds fly, where atmosphere, where we breathe, you know? The next one is space, right? Yeah. And the third one is God's throne. They don't Spiritual. They don't address that. Yeah. Not physical. Or what is outer darkness beyond You know what I mean? How do you define that? So anyway, it's pretty simple for us but for them, it's everything's in that globe and you know, it's just this it's just this bubble and you look at their design. It's a flat circle and then just a bubble and and you're, you're like, wait a minute, know, and that their theory is you can't go past that bubble. You can't get to the second heaven is their argument. That's deflected by the firmament, which is, you know, when Elon Musk fires a rocket off and it goes up, meets its trajectory, and starts to go into the into orbit. It you you see effects in the atmosphere. It's just passing through the atmosphere, breaking the sound barrier and so forth. And flat earth was to say, well, see, that's why it's doing that because it's bouncing off the firmament. It can't get past the firmament. So it's basically you're seeing a deflection. This is the Falcon nine launching from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. This particular launch produced a spectacular display above the California night sky. Rocket launches have always been a fascinating spectacle, but every now and then, they produce stunning displays like this. But what is causing such an unusual effect? In this video, we're going to look at a phenomenon known as the twilight effect. We're also going to look at what causes this effect and why we don't see it happen very often. In order for the twilight effect to occur, the rocket in question needs to launch around thirty minutes before sunrise or after sunset. As the rocket rises out of the night sky, it starts to escape the Earth's shadow. The rocket's exhaust plume is then illuminated by the high altitude sunlight, which hasn't yet been blocked by the Earth. To an observer on the ground, the area around them is in darkness, but the rocket's exhaust bloom is illuminated, making it stand out against the dark night sky. As the rocket gets higher and higher, the atmospheric pressure drops, causing the exhaust plume to expand out into a much wider trail. The upper level winds whip the exhaust trail around into a corkscrew shape, and the small particles in the exhaust plume diffract the sunlight to produce orange and blue colors, making the effect even more spectacular. Rocket launches that produce the twilight effect are very rare. Since 1958, over 1,800 missiles and rocket boosters have been launched from Vandenberg. But only a few of those launches have produced the twilight effect. One of the most spectacular examples of the effect was seen during a recent launch of the Falcon nine. During this launch, the twilight effect allowed us to see the first stage and the two fairings separate from the second stage. The puffs of smoke coming from the first stage are cold gas thrusters, which are used to steer the rocket in the right direction. A previous Space X launch in 2017 created a similar display in the night sky, which caused many observers in California to report UFO sightings and missile attacks. Bro, the world's about to aim, bro. Aliens. What the fuck is this? I I find I find it so so devilish to think that they would falsify the simplest of tools and simplest of evidence through just falsifying what they're seeing to a telescope. How they're falsifying that is what they're using to prove their point, then their tools, everything they're using is a lie. It's a deception. And I'm not trying to say that because I'm being mean. It says someone tells me I don't know what I'm talking about. Well, I've spent forty years building telescopes. I've looked at them. I would spend hours with people outside showing them the things they're not accustomed to. They're accustomed to terrestrial things. They can see the earth. They can see birds and trees. They can see that, but they're not familiar with God's celestial creation. And you can show them with a through a telescope what he's created. Not angels because we can't see angels and they're not blinking stars of whatever that they distort to prove to try to prove their point. But for years, it has always been a fascination to be able to sit with someone and show them a galaxy or show them a nebula or show them a group of stars that are so amazing to look at. And then to have a group of people come along and say, all of that has been a lie. All of that, everything you've learned, I know you've touched it and you've built it because remember, we're all about personal observation. We're about personal understanding from their perspective. So I have personal understanding. I've taken a piece of glass and carved out the sphere, polished it, made a mirror, and used it to see the things in the heavens. I've done that. But you're telling me that's all wrong because it doesn't meet your narrative. Without being able to prove anything. Without being able to prove it. Yeah. It's very difficult. And they deceive themselves because there's no singular accepted cosmology for the flat Earth model. You know, we're talking about the four corners of the Earth and and the Earth being a sphere or rather having a circumference to it. Well, one of them Vicky can probably edit this in. One of the one of the diagrams that popularized this was really like a like a a doughnut pressed into a box forming both a I don't know what you call that shape. I'm sure there's a geom Concave. Geometrical expression for that. But it's a doughnut pressed into a box. And, and so it's got corners, and it's round, and it's got an ice wall around it. Mhmm. But, of course, there's no singular accepted model, and they keep inventing and twisting the dials, as you alluded to, Rob, to come up with more and more explanations for theories that don't work. And and and even the biblical theory, I'm just thinking about this, because I I didn't know that the planters thought that angels were stars. But it says in Joan that the angels rejoiced at the creation. They observed it. They they observed and watched. Yeah. So they're watching God create the heavens and the earth and the stars and everything in it. Well, they're the angels. So how could they be the stars? Because they were watching God create the stars. And then it says 12 times that God stretched out the heavens. That's how come everything that bothers big bangers is completely consistent with, and Doctor. Walt Brown points this out in his book, the stretching of the heavens as compared to the Big Bang explains everything that we know. Why are there black holes? Why are there galaxies that are colliding with each other? Kind of like freeze frame because God created it, it was all starting to collapse and he stretched it out. They were mass, the stars and the planets and everything else were mass that were stretched out in the heavens. They weren't angels and we know that from observable evidence, especially the Webb telescope is coming back and blowing away. I mean absolutely destroying the evolution of this big bang paradigm perfectly consistent with everything that we know about stretching the heavens, creating it a small, you know, relatively small and he stretched it out to apparent billions of years. And another thing to touch on you, you touched on it that the geocentric, you know, that people did think that the earth was the center of the center of the solar system or the universe even. Yeah. Oh, well, and it might be located pretty close to the center of the universe to finding out astronomers saying, wow, how come we're kind of in the center? We're uniquely positioned. Uniquely positioned in the center of everything that's observable. But the geocentric being the earth being the center. And that was again, people reading their Bibles and saying, you know, the sun rises, the sun sets, and so there was and there's the appearance that the sun is going around us. That's the appearance. God never said that the earth was the center of the solar system, but it had the appearance. So to this day, our weathermen will say sun rises at this time, sun set is at this time. And the sun's not really setting. They just don't want to sit there and say, we'll do the rotational velocity of the Earth with the sun being the center of the solar system. It appears that at this time, the Sun is going out of sight. They don't say that. It's the same terminology. Well, the Catholic Church, of course, when Copernicus and Galileo and stuff were coming up with telescopes and saying, wait a second, what we believe is not true by the telescope. The Catholic church goes, woah, we had a Pope that said ex cathedra that the earth is the center of the solar system. Anybody that says something different, we need to kill them. And just like people want to kill Rick because they think he's they want to assault him because they do violence from people that he's known in his church that want to do violence because now he's he's part of the great conspiracy and they got to do violence. But but see, then the telescope told us, no, we're misunderstanding the Bible. You know, people have misunderstood God using our frame of reference, the sun setting, the sun sunrise, sunset, the sun takes its route around the earth. He was using terminology we use to this day because we didn't know. But then when we found out the church should have been able to recognize and say, well it doesn't really say it that way so we can now know what the truth is. It took till October 1992 for the Pope to say, well you know that other Pope, that ex cathedra, God told him that the earth is the center, we got to kill everybody. They finally conceded. Well, this is backwards now. We know what the Bible says. It's a sphere according to everything we heard from Rick and his understanding of Hebrew of the word circle. Well, there's a bunch of other verses too. Yeah. A bunch of other verses and creation, everything everything else that we're talking about. Yeah. Now now it's like these flat earthers want the church to come right. Yeah. No. You know, you've gotta believe the Bible. It says four corners and that means flat. Well, except for when we mean circle, except when we mean a donut crushed into a square box. I mean, it's just they want us to change. No. This time we're right. This time we know what the Bible says and the telescope tells us we know what the Bible says. Everything we observe satellites and astronauts and, you know, thousands of hours of videos from space and all these space probes. So understanding understanding not just the telescope, but understanding how a telescope is used Yeah. On a globe. See, we're not geocentric. Geocentric is the Earth is the center of the universe or the center of our solar system. We're heliocentric. Now that goes beyond. It goes beyond. They're totally against that, but it goes beyond that. Who's they are totally against? Flat earthers? The flat earthers. Oh, They don't believe in heliocentricism. Oh. No. Because they say that that in that model, that must mean that the Earth has to travel so many thousand miles an hour in its in its rotation, we're gonna fly off of that. Then it's going so many thousand miles an hour around the sun. It's just we're gonna be flinging everywhere. Once again, it's taking that model of the stick tied to a string and they're trying to apply it to a larger system. It doesn't work. But when Newton invented his telescope, his mount that he put it on all telescopes are mounted on on several types of mounts, but I'm just gonna talk about one. It's called the German Equatorial Mount. That mount is because the telescope to follow stars, because our earth is rotating, This this the moon doesn't come up. The sun doesn't come up. The stars don't come up. The Earth is rotating. We aim that telescope and its mount on Polaris, aiming it at Polaris. Its its polar mount is aiming at Polaris. That's the right ascension part of the mount. So that when we then aim the telescope from its right ascension, we can take that telescope and aim it at any star, and we can track that star across the sky because the telescope is tracking its sidereal time, which is the rotation of the earth. So we can put that telescope on a star over there, and by the afternoon or later in the evening, the telescope has followed that star across the sky because we've calculated the speed and rotation of the earth, and we've aligned the telescope. The telescope, Newton decided, that his mount was gonna be on a sphere. And the reason why it was on a sphere, because then he could aim that telescope by looking at a star and go, well, now as it rotates on its axis to the north, it will always follow a star. So then they invented all these different types of mounts. And so, that's the scientific method in astronomy, how we decided that we have these telescopes, we can now track stars. I can figure out we have a terrestrial globe that we're sitting on that has that has measurements. You have longitude and latitude, but those are translated into the celestial and what's known as declination and right ascension. Right ascension is moving across from east to west, declination is from north to south. So anywhere I put that telescope when it's aligned to the North Pole, the north star, which is just a degree so forth off of our pole, off of this guy right here Yeah. No matter where I am on this planet, if my mount is aiming that way, if I'm here as I'm rotating my telescope, I can aim it over here, it will follow that star. Because it knows, because the stars don't go anywhere. They're stationary. I can go out and look at a star, and I'll go, wow. It's over here. Well, the star didn't move. I did. So we can look at circumpolar images of the North Pole. They take pictures. You see all the stars moving around. It only happens from the Equator North. You can do it in the South, but we don't have a South Pole that's as accurate as the North Pole. We we don't have a south star. Star. That's as accurate. There's close things, but you will you will not get a Yeah. As close as a circumpolar star. So in the South Pole, if you aim the telescope at what truly is the South Pole where there's no star there, you don't get that spot of the north star. You get everything circling in the closest one to the South. Now all that observation is also proof that we're a sphere because you couldn't do that on a flat Earth. Couldn't do that on a flat Earth. You couldn't aim at a star with a telescope, leaving the telescope where it is and have it follow that star if we were a flat Earth. If we're a flat Earth, can do it. Well, they actually have great difficulty explaining the the motion of the stars in the sky and and why you can see certain constellations in the South, but not, you know, in the different hemispheres. It's a no brainer. The other fascinating thing is, you were mentioning airline pilots and aircraft travel around the globe. Well, they have to use advanced trigonometry to calculate the direction and distance because if you have a flat earth you're dealing with a plane, a PLAN plane geometry, you have a straight line between two points but that's not so with a globe. You're dealing with the curvature and they have to calculate that so that if you have three points on a globe, you've got greater number of degrees that are in a triangle that's flat on the paper. You've shown that on the map last night. Yeah. It's gotta be That's that's the the the map I have is it's it's used for other purposes, but the the the flat earthers use a a azimuthal map, which shows the top of the earth from the North Pole, and it breaks the earth out and spreads the it out. And that's basically their map. Of course, it goes out to to the end. Basically, the bottom comes up and curls around so they have that Antarctic Wall. But it's it's the same thing. They're they're looking at it from the top. But then if it's a flat earth, everything is a straight line. So why does it take the same amount of time to fly from here to there seven hours, but if I'm flying from San Francisco to Hawaii, it's off it it takes the same amount of time. But if you look on a globe, it's gonna take you farther and longer to go around, but from their model, it doesn't make any sense. Traveling doesn't make any sense on theirs. You would think, I should be able to just go straight line, boom, takes me only two hours to get there, but on the globe, it takes you ten hours to get there. Exactly. So here we have tens of thousands of pilots know that the earth's not flat. Hundreds of astronauts know the earth's not flat. Millions of telescope enthusiasts know the earth's not flat but we have some YouTube preachers that are deceiving people into believing the earth is flat. Deceived and deceiving others. That's just the beginning. I don't So know if we'll get to do another episode, but that leads into the discussion of why. Why do they believe this? And what is what is the root and how can it be corrected? It's it's a sign of the times really. The apostle Paul said, for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they'll keep together teachers who tickle their ears. And they will be always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Right. And that seems to describe this flat earthism. Well, and I think second Thessalonians chapter two, you know, very, very well known passage for people to read their Bibles instead of flat earth, proponent. And then the lawless one will come that will be revealed. We know he's coming. We know the Antichrist is coming. And in leading up to him, there's going to be this deception you're talking about from Timothy, who the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with brightness of his coming. The coming of the lost one is according to the working of Satan who deceived a third of the angels who were in the very throne of God. Yeah. And so he's a great deceiver with all power, signs and lying wonders. Right. And with all unrighteous deception among those who perish. And this is, you know, we're talking about whether this is a core issue or a peripheral issue. It it to to me, this is pretty serious because if you're believing a lie, then really are you a believer in Jesus? Because can you believe a lie? Because it says, with all unrighteous deception among those who perish because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved. For this reason, God will send them a strong delusion that they should believe the lie. Just like Romans one, he gives them over to reprobate mind when they deny the obvious truth. Yeah. And I would say this to our audience today, whoever's listening. I want to warn you based on this scripture from two Thessalonians chapter two. We made it irrefutable that the truth is biblical, scientific, and multiple ways. We could go on and on with that. The earth is round. It's a sphere. And so if you want to believe a flat earther YouTuber, then what you're doing is I'm rejecting the truth, and I'm giving myself over to believe a lie, which according to this verse means you're not saved. You you somehow because you're rejecting the truth, god's gonna just give you over to a lie, to believe a lie, that they might be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Now the greatest truth is, you know, that Jesus is the way, the truth, life, and we believe in him, and that's, you know, people during the tribulation period that this is talking about in the lead up to it are rejecting the truth that Jesus is the only way to be saved. But there but there's something seriously wrong with all the evidence to the contrary or biblical in other words. If you're if you're wanting to believe a lie, there's something wrong. And I I just caution you to not be just yeah. Do not be deceased. Amen. Amen. It's it's something. What about AI now? I mean, the level of deception that AI is gonna accomplish in the weeks and months ahead, I'm I'm pleading with people to know their Bible. Yeah. The only way you're gonna stay on track is knowing your Bible. That's right. Because they're gonna be slick. Yeah. If if they can deceive you on a flat Earth, how much more when they start putting stuff up in the sky and AI's gonna rewrite this Bible. Mhmm. Bill Gates and the Pope and then wanna rewrite the Bible for their new world religion the other day. Yeah. You know what mean? Oh, yeah. So if if you're in these churches that don't teach the word of God, you're not a brand. You don't know how to use the scriptures to come to the knowledge of the truth. You're easily deceived. Know? Yeah. So in the tribulation period, it's so simple. Innumerable multitude of people beneath the throne of God in Revelation six and seven. Their life is reduced to one decision. They don't have to worry about the earth round or flat or whatever. Just don't take the mark of the beast. Say no to it. That's it. And he's got the image of the beast, the line, signs, wonders, whole thing. Somehow they know, don't take that don't take that mark. And they have eternal life because one decision in their life, they do right, you know? It's just it's not complicated. Yeah. Well, when you have an when you have an uneducated mass of people. They're easy to deceive. Oh yeah. And our society has become so dumbed down. When I was young, most kids would love to look through telescopes and see what's going on. These people that they're talking to on YouTube, they haven't even a clue what they're looking at or what what the instrument does or anything. So they can easily be deceived. And and it's it's shocking how ignorant people are in so many areas. And the Bible is the most important part. They they can read God's word but still want to believe a lie. It's like it's like when that devil got cast out of that man's body, and he went out and that house got cleaned up. He went out wandering the wilderness. He found himself seven more bad guys, and they came back in and saw how clean it was. So you believe a little lie? You're gonna let let that little lie bring in a bad brother who's gonna bring in somebody else. Pretty soon, the lies have accumulated themselves so great that you you have been deceived completely. You just can't let these little festers. You can't let the little lump destroy the whole loaf. You can't. You just can't. And for those who are watching that might be not aware, Rob is referring to a Bible person, Jesus himself teaching that a man was possessed and the demon went out and he's looking around for somebody else to be possessed, to possess, and he comes back to where he was and he sees it cleaned out, but he doesn't have the Holy Spirit in him. He hasn't become a believer, so he brings seven buddies with him, and the end of that man's life is worse than the beginning because now he's possessed by multiple demons, and because he didn't receive the truth after rejecting, you know, after the lie. So I don't know. I don't have chapter and verse on that, but that's in But I mean the teaching the point the point is is that a little Yeah. Little lie. Yeah. Well, you let it foster and let it fester and it can destroy the whole house. So you're little straight with navigation. Flying a plane, you're off one degree in your compass. By the time you get there, you're way off. That's It starts at just one degree. Even with a telescope, we we we deal with micro arc seconds, which means if I'm looking at a star and I'm off a micro arc second, when by the time I get out there to it, I don't know where it's at. We use things called setting circles on telescopes to give us the longitude and latitude or the declination and right ascension of a star or an object we're looking at. But if I tell somebody it's forty seven point three and it's actually forty seven point two, When they go to look at it, they're gonna be like, I don't see anything because it's clear over here. Yep. But they're off they're just off one little tiny bit. Yeah. They can't they'll never find what they're looking for. So last night, was telling about the Moody Science movies. Mhmm. That You you guys had in your library. So you take children and they watch a Moody Science video about a bee or an eyeball or anything in creation and the children are captivated and that's the glory that's due God because of his creation. But if you're stumbling them, you better, I was telling her, some of these people, you better get a millstone. You are stumbling these little ones that have this faith and are ready to believe in God, you know, and the wonderment of his creation and you're quenching it. You're stifling them. So anyway to stimulate that wonderment you like taking a camping, bring a satellite, you know, a telescope. Those Moody videos or Answers in Genesis going to see the Ark, imagine, is so incredibly fascinating, like going to Israel to see it in three d. To see it, you know, like this is what Noah built, you know. This is what he built. Look at this, you know, on a scale here. But we don't have that typically. Very few people have access. We're using the marine science in our services with the young kid. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Then they get a solid of science. Yeah. And creation. Yeah. Yeah. They can't be tricked later. Yeah. They can't be tricked. Right? I remember watching those as a young boy and being fascinated and they greatly helped me in my Yeah. To me that's the answer is information. Truth. Get the truth to people. Counteract it with truth is all I can think. Find the lovers of truth and pour yourself into those that wanna learn because these people are not teachable. Just like anybody who rejects any truth, if they willingly reject it, they really say, Nope, nope, I don't believe that was Jesus. I don't believe that's the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I sing from the pulpit. I sing feelings, feelings, you know, because I want rational thinking. I don't want, you know, can I teach you how to think, you know? Don't disregard the argument I'm trying to present simply with your feelings. So now I kind of make fun with them. Has everybody got a hanky? Because I'm going to offend you right now. I'm going to offend you. And so you're a little sarcastic. But it really is like that. It's that remedial. It's like we're dealing with children. But there's a rebelliousness there that somehow we need to check at the door. And I'll let them in and I'll let them go pretty far. But when it starts to infect other people like a poison, then as a pastor, I wouldn't be a pastor if I didn't stand up and say we need to do a podcast, we need to get something, you know, established so that if this keeps happening, we have a wall built to not let it get any further. One is Paul told Timothy, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. And two, those things are negative, and people don't like to hear that today. Oh, it's like, hey, I believe this. You're in my feelings. You're in my feelings. Right. And the verse that a divisive man after first and second admonition reject. Yeah. You know, people can come in, hey, heard flat earth or I think we've been to see Pastor Kevin. They came to me. I'd say, well, no, actually. And then watch this podcast. There you go. Watch this podcast. Come back. No, no, you didn't convince me. Really? You don't want repent of believing a lie? No? Okay, then goodbye. So when we first got saved, we had the cults everywhere. Hare Krishna Krishna. We had Walter Martin, kingdom of the cults. And we'd say, Hey, here you go. Here's Mormons exposed. Here's this exposed. This exposed. We don't have him anymore. And then we have Pastor Chuck stand against every wind of doctrine. Because these wind of doctrines have been coming into the church forever. So whether it's the shepherding doctrine, warding over people, whatever it is, Bill Johnson NER right now, we've had pastors in our lives that would not bite, but stand their ground and not give into it and weather it. And they're still going, you know what I mean? And a lot of these things come and go. And whether it's the Kansas City Prophets or the Toronto Blessing or all these different which morphed into NER. But Pastor Chuck actually told Vineyard, Change your name because this is incompatible with who we are and we don't want to confuse people. So then the Vineyard kind of morphs into the, again, the Bill Johnson, NDR thing. And but we have to stand our ground. We just can't no matter how small the churches get in this time of attack, There's a huge attack against the truth. Universal deceit. Against the truth. You know? We have to stand our ground. And I've told the folks if we have to go back to being house churches in the last days because of the battle from the AI and everybody making us out to be monsters. Then so be it. We're going to find those that are truly disciples. And when I have a guy in the church or a gal that's truly a disciple, it's effortless. We're on the same page. And all you do is teach the Bible and they understand everything you're saying. And then there's others that have infiltrated the church. No matter what you do, it's always conflict. It's just conflict after conflict. There's the judging and fighting against stuff. It's just, you know what, that's part of a sifting. If this is an IQ test and or a purging, then so be it. Purge it and then let's get back to what we do to edify because I'm wasting too much time. This is a time waster if I have to keep doing this. So I want closure. Yeah. I want I want some closure on this topic. So you're close this and burn. Are we done? You want closure? All right. Are we done with this segment? Well, I have one last thing to say is that any deception that the devil uses, he uses anything against us. And when he can find a deception that gets traction, he emphasizes it. And so all these deceptions that we've been encountering over the years, over the last three years, we'll just go back that far. Those deceptions need to be addressed from a biblical perspective, and we need to look at it with a discerning heart and know that our deceiver is cunning. And but he he comes up with all kinds of evil stuff against us in this new this flatters thing. It's not new, but it isn't old. I mean, it hasn't been around, but I'm sure this Resurgence. Yeah. It just resurges. He just he's found traction. His positive traction has just worked and it's not slipping anymore. And so we just need to stand against it and what we're doing here, coming up with this, and then saying, okay, we're done. So like you said, hey, you wanna believe a lie? I can't stop you from believing a lie, but I can't have sweet fellowship with you. If you're believing a lie. And spread it. Spread Spread it to people that are wanting to be healthy and they're at various different ages of spiritual growth and you don't want them to be deceived. That's what a pastor keeps a wolf out of the sheep pen. Out of the sheep pen. A little leavens the whole thing. And this stuff can't flourish among a group of people who are educated. That's the whole thing of knowing the dollar bill, the $100 bill. If I know the truth, can't deceive me, right? Right. So if people have been taught, this kind of thing just doesn't have traction in a certain group of people. Yeah. But this winds and doctrines can come in, and they can really, you know, oh, people get all excited, then they gotta go on to the next thing. Because it's not truth, you gotta find something after that to stimulate them emotionally, because that's how they're driven. They're driven by their senses. They're sensory. They're not spirit filled. They're not in tune with the whole Like this whole argument? How could you possibly go along with this if you're spirit filled? How could you not be hearing from the Lord saying, stop, stop, you know? But they double down. As soon as you prove them wrong, they double down with anger. What's coming next that's even slicker? Because this is pretty rudimentary. What's coming next with AI, the type of deception that's going to really expose those that profess the belief and those who really believe, even in this apostasy? This apostasy's increasing intensity. Great signs, wonders, deception. Yeah. It's really going be mind boggling. Yeah. And we're seeing the beginning of it. Lying signs and wonders. Nice. And that it's not the devil that can actually do these things. They're like a magician doing tricks. Yep. Slight of hand. Yeah. Alright. Alright. Father, we come before you, Lord. Thank you for this episode. I pray that it bears much fruit for your kingdom and glory. I pray that it would help people not spend fifty, sixty hours, weeks, months delving into this subject, but Lord, they could just nip it in the bud and realize if they do go this route, Lord, they're going be called flat earthers. There's nobody that wants to run for office as a flat earther Lord. So I just pray that they'd have a healthy fear and an awe and a respect for your word ears to hear. And Lord use it to extricate people from this lie, deception. Save some from the fire, snatch them up with a fire. And Lord this is serious and Lord we just thank you for this time that we could spend here. We're just barely scratching the surface and Lord we thank you for Answers in Genesis and other groups that have materials available for folks to dig in further.
